Yelp
I really hate writing this review because I have loved this place since it opened. The owner was super nice and always had a smile and happy greeting for every customer. Like he never met a stranger. I had not been I awhile and was happy to see them still there. I also want to try to support businesses who rent space and employ people. As I drove up I was no less than 3 taco joints on the sidewalk so I can understand how difficult it must be to operate under these circumstances. You must also make adjustments to make sure every guest who made the decision to choose you when there are so many options you must bring your A game. Be polite, be accommodating, help people have what they want, have excellent product. good is no longer competitive. Well lets just say La Changla failed me last nite. From the time we and yes I brought a friend, entered it was strange. no hello no greeting, no smiles and I thought ok they must be busy. One other couple in there than us. So I got over the greeting part and the no smiles part and the its not so comfortable in this small space the vibe was off. so I ordered a carne asada burrito. I asked for no rice so they kept the rice off, and so I asked to have some cheese on the burrito. the young woman said, It will be $3 dollars to add cheese. I looked at her and repeated $3 dollars? and she said, yes. and that was it. So I said, you know there are people selling tacos and burritos right outside your door. And she said nothing. I thought perhaps she might then say, ok, 1.50 for.a small side of cheese on a burrito. she said nothing. So I got the burrito and did not add the cheese and just thought, what a missed opportunity. One for her to be nice, two for her to make happy a paying customer who choose them for dinner tonight, and 3 she had a chance to make a customer who could come in a couple times a week if the food was right. She was not into me having it my way unless I forked over 3 bucks for a small side of cheese. Not to mention, the environment for me was not good. so whatever. I just won't come back. and the asada well lets just say some spices go a long way, even a little salt would help. it was bland. very bland. So not only was the food not great, the experience was bad too. so unfortunately I can find other places to get a burrito and yes, will put cheese on it the way I want and won't charge me 3 dollars for it. I walked into Northgate, and bought a pack of shredded Mexican cheese for 2.50 for the whole back and put it on the dang burrito myself. So I got my cheese and some bland asada. So in the end I got what I needed, and you did not get a returning customer. The options are to good out there to have bad food and bad service.
