:D :P ;P Sabor!! Update; It's hit or miss. I'm being very serious. 09/06/2022 I placed my order by phone. When I arrived (15+ minutes later) they hadn't begun making my order. The cook looked out the window and laughed at me, laughter is universal I did not need a translation. My sandwich was not composed in the way it was last time I ordered it. I was charged the same price for poorer service and random product. They're offerings do seem authentic and it's a short drive from Broad Street in Red Bank.

My wife and I tried this place since our original taco place had over 1hr wait for pick up. We ordered chicken and steak tacos and they weren't flavorful. The meats had the achiote seasoning which I'm not a big fan of.

We orderd from here after a long day out, I ordered a huarache which is suppose to be a soft tortilla, what I recieved was nothing close to it. I recieved a round tostada with only cheese, crema and lettuce which turned into a ball because it was moving back and forth in the car. I had asked for beans with crema and cheese with avocado. I had ordered this for my son, specifically with those toppings because that's all he eats. I called the restaurant and told her about this issue and said she was going to issue a refund. I called again after a week, today, and I was transferred to 3 people and I had to repeat my story to all of them. She gave me a hard time telling me I had to return the food because she doesn't believe me. I was passing by Red bank that day and we happened to find this restaurant while we were driving. When i got to my friends house, which she lives 30 min from there and I live 45 min from red bank, is when i found out my order was messed up. How do they want me to drive more than an hour, back and forth, for only $7. 25 if they can just issue me a refund through my card. If they are going to change the way a certian food item is made, they should specify that on the menu. I am more upset I did not take a picture.

Very authentic Mexican street food, reminds me food from Los Angeles & some parts of Mexico. Absolutely love their Oaxaca tamales be aware that's little spicy lol

The cashier Orlando got my order wrong. I ordered 2 orders of chicken fingers w fries. I even repeated him my order again. When I received my order there was only 1 order of chicken fingers w fries. But the food was amazing.

They have fresh tamales every morning, they are delicious! If you are looking to get some, go early in the morning because they go FAST! I am fan of their tortas, super nachos, chilaquiles & tostadas!

I ordered something at 4:45 p.m it was a delivery, the funny thing is that I had to wait until 6 and no it wasn't because the food had arrived, but because I had to call again. They told me they were working on it, I waited 30 minutes and called again, this time she said that it was almost ready when I heard her yelled at the Kitchener "¿Ya triny cuál te falta?". I decided to wait another damn 30 minutes just to call again and cancel the order, the woman said "Oh pero su orden ya esta lista". And I clearly heard when she said to the cook "ya sacala de la parrilla". 😒

Yelp
Fresh tamales and many other great options. I always make a trip here on the weekends. They run out of green tamales quick so best to order early.

Yelp
Really good food. I love to try different stuff on the menu here. I might have to look up some of the stuff. I hope the menu pictures help. If you want mexican food, this spot will settle your craving. You can eat in or take out.

Yelp
Great food but terrible service. This is the second time I place a delivery order and it never makes it. I called back to ask if it was on the way and they assured it was. It never arrived. Poor service

Yelp
Great food at a plain with not much on the inside that is very popular in the neighborhood. I will go there again, best Mexican food in the area.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to visit on the first time, the food was very good, delicious, and will season. Authentic cuisine beyond a doubt....Prices are extremely competitive... Service is what you expect for a mom and pops joint... The food is truly authentic... A true visit is worth it... Stay away from the commercial Monmonth Street eateries, they are Eurocentric, and the food is there is for soft palates, not accustomed to the rich spice of true Mexican food!!!!

Yelp
Love this place, best Mexican food in Red Bank and all surrounding towns. Try the tamales and check out the house specialties. Great place for takeout or a quick bite inside. They even deliver!

Yelp
My wife & I found La Chaparrita last week while looking for a grocery to buy poblano chiles. We had dinner & were so impressed by the quality. We have had Mexican food in many restaurants in CA and TX, and this little bodega/eatery (sort of NYC-like: tiny, a few tables, kitchen in view) serves some of the best we've had anywhere. We both ordered the burrito al Pastor, which was delicious and VERY substantial, served with rice & beans. One way I knew this place would be great, even before the meal arrived, was from the salsa we were given with chips. Both the red & the green were the most distinctive, tastiest & freshest I've ever had at a restaurant. Last thing: the cook prepared our meals so carefully, it took him about fifteen minutes for the two burritos-- because everything on the plate was freshly made, not sitting under a warmer. Five stars from us!

Yelp
The best mexican food in Red Bank is on Shrewsbury Avenue and this is the best of the best. A small grocery with an open kitchen and three tables but it's mainly take out service serving authentic mexican food. They even have a "Sabado y Domingo" menu with items only made for the weekend. Big portions and great prices.Tacos, Burritos, nachos, cemitas, sopas, Quesedillas de Maize. The Al Pastore is fantastic. I've always gotten take out but

Yelp
I will second the previous 5 star review. This is the real deal- a plastic table in front of a window into the kitchen, at the back of the grocery store. Best red and green sauce ever ($5 a container if you want to get just that) Entrees are best taken out- not really a place to dine unless you are alone and don't mind the folding chair at the lone plastic table shared with the local day laborers getting dinner there at the end of their workday. Super friendly staff (maybe the owner?). Limited english but helpful. You aren't in the Carlos O'Connor tourist zone anymore. Yum. I want to go now..
