"This former post office in the Luberon is an ode to Provence where you can choose between the elegant and modern dining room or the small panoramic terrace. Having sourced his ingredients from local producers, Marseille-born chef Olivier Alemany (trained by Jacques Chibois, in particular) enchants guests with traditional cuisine enhanced by Provence’s superb sun-blessed natural bounty with its incomparable freshness. Meanwhile, in the dining room, his wife Delphine provides attentive and meticulous service. To ease their post-meal digestion, sated guests can explore the narrow streets up to the church and château of the charming village of Ansouis." - Michelin Inspector

La Closerie is located in the charming village of Ansouis in the Luberon. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated at a cozy table inside. The lunch menu included appetizers, a main course, and desserts, along with some tasty amuse-bouches. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Although I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a meat option alongside the fish main course, the fish itself was excellent. The recommended regional wine was a perfect match for the meal. At €64, the menu, including a glass of wine and coffee, is a great value. I highly recommend La Closerie for its friendly service, delicious food, and excellent value.

Excellent all around worthy of a star. I had the hungry menu with 4 courses. Talbot was the best. Reasonable wine prices as well.

Today we had lunch again at La Closerie and it was a perfect experience from the very first second. The small team is super professional and friendly, the place is modern but cosy with a lovely view over the nearby vineyards. The menu was terrific - so tasty, creative and made with love to the detail - and the recommended wine was perfect. This remains to be our #1 restaurant with great value for money and we already look forward to our next visit.

A fantastic restaurant and meal. Everything was perfect. The three of us tried everything on the fixed price menu. The amuse bouche was a fantastic pea soup tasting with pine nuts and mint. The bread strips with goat cheese unbelievable. Two of us had the asparagus appetizer. Outstanding. One had the shrimp. Again, wonderful. For main dishes, two had the veal wrapped in bacon with potato gnocchi. The sauce was out of this world. One of had the fish of the day with baby vegetables and another wonderful sauce. For desserts, we had one of each of the offerings. The bread pudding was greatly enjoyed. The wrapped chocolate with spun sugar was both fantastic looking and delicious. I had the dessert of the day which was a medley of flavors and colors, featuring fresh strawberries. The chef is both creative and a fantastic cook, well deserving of the Michelin star. The staff was very attentive and wonderful. We will return as often as we can. Reservations are mandatory.

Our 3 recent visits to La Closerie were all beautiful experiences we will treasure. When we had lunch there on oct. 22, which was a farewell meal at the end of our holiday, we were surprised and awed by the extra care that had been taken to welcome us for the second time in a week. Because it was our second time there, the starter, main and dessert of the daily lunch menu had been changed for us, so we could experience even more of the dishes La Closerie has to offer. (Allergies had also been taken into account and thoughtful changes had been made to several of the dishes.) The starter, a more than generous offering of a terrine de foie gras, was an immediate delight. The main, loup de mer was another highlight of the menu. The dessert just a chocolate dream The service was always truly exceptional – also thanks to the wonderful Delphine - and the ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, with beautiful views of autumnal Ansouis Thank you to everyone at La Closerie for offering us such delicious and unforgettable luncheons.

One of the best restaurant in south Luberon. One Michelin star restaurant run by a charming couple willing to offer the best of provence. They do not publish their menu as subject to change since they only compose with the freshest products available. In any case you can go there in full confidence you will have a great experience of simple traditional gourmet cuisine.

Yelp
This restaurant remains quite good. We went the year it opened in 2003 and returned in 2021. The service and owner are quite friendly. It is proper formal high dining with everything you would expect from a one star Michelin restaurant. For those not familiar with haute cuisine, do not expect to know what you are eating without explanation. Think floral like presentations with foam and gel and carefully crafted plates. If you are looking for a hearty steak and frites or whole chicken, go to a bistrot.
