"In an 18th-century carriage house, the folks at La Cochera del Abuelo have created an intimate dining experience that feels equally elegant and homey. Owner Cinta Romero’s experience is evident in the thorough service from her front-of-house team, along with the succinct list of especially engaging wines. The menu here changes regularly, but chef Bosco Benítez has a particular affinity for vegetables and the grill, which imparts whispers of smoke to even the lightest of dishes. The one-bite appetizers are some of the most memorable items, like a shell-on carpaccio-style scallop with smoky eggplant. A reservation here is essential." - Megan Lloyd

By far the best restaurant experience in Seville. The owner greeted us warmly, despite not having a reservation, and took care of us throughout the entire meal. We shared a plate of rice with shrimp and crab, beef, and cheesecake, and also tried their tinto de verano - all of which were delicious and had us leaving the place comfortably full. The place is incredibly detail-oriented across all aspects and it’s truly a hidden gem. Would love to come here again and try more of their dishes.

I’ve been all over Spain and this restaurant is among the best! Our group had the veal cheeks, shrimp rice, pork, and croaker fish. All magnificently prepared and presented. The service was top notch and the setting intimate and carefully curated. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sevilla.

Had the most wholesome meal here - the staff treated us like family, created a warm and welcoming environment. They were super patient with us on selecting entrees since we had landed after a 14hour travel day. Each dish was exquisite, complex and consistent - they elevated flavors and employed the principle of less is more - fully enjoyed our meal, the hospitality, and the comforting vibes - couldn’t recommend dining here more. The cheesecake is a must!

The best meal we’ve had in Sevilla. All 5 dishes — gazpacho, rice with red shrimp, fennel salad with smoked eel, veal cheeks and cheesecake — were excellent. 5/5 is extremely rare to come across so this is a hidden gem. All of this is presented in an extremely cute ambience that reminded me of old school Russian aesthetic with ruffles and ornamental plates.

We just had a fantastic lunch here with very friendly and welcoming service. It seemed it was all locals dining and each dish was fantastic both in execution and flavour. We agreed the baby squid with portobello mushroom and marinated cherry was such an interesting and enjoyable combination: light and fresh. I should also mention their tableware is fantastic. I only wish it was open again before we leave Seville (it’s closed Monday and Tuesday) but I guess we’ll have to come back!

This dinner was a fantastic experience. Though they are famous for their cheesecake, I believe they should be just as famous for their service and creative and well executed menu. They have extensive knowledge of their dishes and where they source their ingredients. I recommend making a reservation and making this a must if you are in Seville.

The unassuming sign from the outside doesn’t prepare you for the wonderful experience you will get once you step inside this restaurant. The decor is classy yet makes you feel like you are at a friends house for dinner. The music playing in the background and lighting sets the perfect mood for dinner. The team of servers and the owner are all very knowledgeable with the menu and wine. Most importantly they are friendly and kind. The menu is small but that’s what makes it so good. Everything we tried was DELICIOUS! The sautéed vegetables with fried egg was amazing. The lamb shank was so tender it literally fell off the bone. We came here for the food but fell in love with the overall experience. I would highly recommend coming here while visiting Sevilla. I know I will be back whenever I visit.

Hands down the best food experience in Sevilla. Refined but relaxed. Food made with creativity and passion- and so absolutely delicious. From pure comfort (bean and fish stew) to pure indulgence (cheesecake that’s so good it should be illegal). Timeless classics with a modern twist and completely new concoctions marrying Spanish food with French technique in a wonderful small scale restaurants. The staff is absolutely fantastic and explains with great love and care what you’re eating. We’ll be back.
