La Cocina de Luz

Our first trip to Telluride and what a way to start. La Cocina de Luz is a must try if visiting Telluride. We were greeted by someone from their very friendly staff and were seated immediately. Free chips and two types of salsa were brought to the table. The salsa was fresh and delicious. My wife ordered quesadillas and they covered the entire plate. I ordered the special of the day which was a pan seared rainbow trout with quajillo peppers and garlic. Holy cow it was amazing. Everything tasted so fresh. If you see it offered you HAVE to get it. It was also nice to have several of the employees come by our table to see if we were enjoying our meal. We assumed it was the owner and the chef. 5*’s for La Cocina de Luz!

Food was amazing!! Menu had lots of great choices! Definitely recommend when in town! Photo is of the fish and burrito, great flavors!

Absolutely LOVE La Cocina !!!! Right across the street from where I work, I have been a regular customer for over a year now. This is a family owned lovely business. Diana and her family are incredible. I love the enchiladas and also their breakfast is the bomb! Espresso, lattes and more. If you are looking for an affordable awesome establishment - definitely go to La Cocina !!

Great place for breakfast!! All homemade and the gluten free blue corn waffle was DELICIOUS!! The best coffee we’ve had! Warm friendly atmosphere and eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly! Couldn’t stop hubby from eating before I got a picture. Chips and salsa at breakfast!!

Casual Mexican spot in the heart of Telluride, serving breakfast until 11:30, and a lunch/dinner menu after that. Order at the counter and they’ll serve you at your table. Big portions, we left full. Love that they have vegetarian and vegan options; ordered the vegan plate which was tasty. They have a limited alcoholic drink menu - serving beer, wine, and margaritas (also have coffee drinks and juices). Staff was friendly, vibe was casual. Lots of art decorating the walls.

Such a great experience at La Cocina de Luz! The food was terrific and the service was out of this world! I wish I got the name of the manager/person taking orders, but I could have listened to his interactions all day long. Would be a multi million viewer YouTube channel! Went back for breakfast and was yet again impressed.

This was our second time eating brunch at La Cocina de Luz and it did not disappoint as expected. The most delicious food and the best service!! We came back for our favorite blue corn waffle, and the fresh squeezed orange juice is a must!

Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I enjoyed the quevos con machaca and the portions were good. The chai was really good and hot. The chips and salsa they bring out was a nice bonus. They were very busy and messed up our order which took awhile to fix but overall I’d definitely go back and try other options, highly recommend for Mexican flare.
