La Cocina de Ramón

"A pleasant restaurant with plenty of personality that reflects the long love affair between owner-chef Ramón Piñeiro and his kitchen. Located in one of the main streets in Logroño’s old quarter, just a few metres from the cathedral, its heavily restored interior of open brickwork provides a warm and welcoming backdrop for cuisine that is strongly influenced by market availability and traditional home-style cooking that has been brought up-to-date and is constantly evolving. Any of the dishes on the menu that showcase the superb vegetables of the Rioja are well worth trying." - Michelin Inspector

Some of the best food we have eaten. Absolutely delicious. We ordered dishes to share and they separated them in the kitchen beautifully into individual and generous portions. The service is a little disjointed, but in a way that is endearing rather than taking away from the experience. The ambience is a little stark initially, but you soon settle in. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is also family friendly, and I say that as a childless diner who enjoyed an intimate meal with my partner but there were two neighbouring tables with children that the restaurant accommodated perfectly and in a way that was both great for them but did not detract from our own meal.

I visited Logroño today and I was lucky to find this great restaurant for lunch. I had heard about nice tapas in the old town and was ready to attack. But I saw this place, lots of Michelin stars for years, and decided to try. Very few times in my life I've eaten so much but the food was good. I ordered the country style dishes and decided to finish it with a flan and sweet wine. I did manage to get up and walk about this nice city before leaving. Service from all the staff was exemplary, and I even managed to practice talking some Spanish. It was a really good experience.

Delicious experience with the Chef Ramón hanging around and trying to help with English :))

The restaurant would be expected to serve high quality dishes in a perfect way. Surprisingly the dishes are prepared carelessly, without a clear concept. Tuna tataki delicate taste is spoiled by heavy mushroom sauce etc. The staff does not speak basic English.

Solid food with almost catastrophic service. I can’t believe this restaurant has a Michelin Bid Gourmand. When we asked for a table it was treated like an ordeal — despite an empty restaurant. We asked our server for recommendations in the carne section and got a condescending slow reading of the entire menu. He also seemed annoyed that we weren’t ready to order wine within two minutes of sitting down. My wife speaks fluent Spanish so there was no language barrier. We could also hear the staff rifting and complaining generally in the kitchen. The second server saved our experience a bit by being polite and helpful. The food itself was interesting with some Japanese influences. My wife and I split a few dishes and were impressed by the serving sizes. It was not my favorite attempt at East Asian fusion but I think there were some interesting ideas. I enjoyed the seared tuna and the gyoza felt like it evoked Spanish comfort food. I am not sure if I would return. I would completely rethink their service if they want to retain their reputation.

I discovered La Cocina de Ramón while passing through Logroño on my Camino de Santiago, and it was a fantastic experience. The steak was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is charming and cozy, perfect for a relaxing meal after a day of walking/cycling The food was exquisite, with a great balance between quality and price. The service was excellent, always attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

Wowwww, a gem of indulgence! This was an amazing tasting experience. We dropped by without a reservation, the hospitality and effort in speaking English was superb friendly. We had a weekday lunch menu (3-course) which is a fantastic deal for €25 pp. Each course was divine delicious and portions was quite large for our standards. Offered courses was similar to a-la-carte selection and might differ slightly. Definitely recommend starter Logrono tomato tuna salad and for dessert Torrijas a la Riojana (Spanish-style French toast) and Spanish cheesecake which has a very cheesy taste

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Every table has a private area that gives an excellent atmosphere.

Yelp
Gyoza was amazing...decadent. Tuna was great and had a wonderful sauce. Suckling lamb chops were great. Service was not so great but food quality was spot on. Not sure I would go here again...too many other great restaurants around to try instead. Oh...and our reservation was at 8:30pm but the waiter had just arrived. He was confused that we had a reservation. After I pointed our name on the reservation book, he still wanted to argue with me that I did not have a reservation and then asked me to come back in 30 minutes.
