Easily my favorite lunch in the area. Big enough to feel full, but not so rich to put me in a food coma before hiking up the arc. 14,5 nets you either an app and an entree, or an entree and desert.
First course was the goat cheese salad. I was initially disappointed with the two little discs of cheese baked onto some small pieces of bruschetta, but quickly shut up any complaints upon the first bite. It was toasted just-right, with some poppy seeds and honey. Underneath that was some surprise ham. It was lean, dry, and flavorful, just how I like it. Eventually I got down to the actual salad, perfect arugula and shredded carrots. Loving that vinaigrette, but I can't quite put my finger on what they're using besides lemon and garlic.
Second course was a bacon cheeseburger, because cheeseburgers are awesome and my appetite outweighed my hunger for adventure. Not something you can really mess up, but it is possible to put in the extra steps to make it above average. Whether it's the quality cuts of meat used, or the buns toasted on both sides, comete takes lots of those extra steps.
Finally, my friends force-fed me the creme brulee, which I am usually not a fan of. Totally changed my mind. I'm convinced they could take sugar and a blowtorch to any food and make it delicious. Expect it to take a bit of time here, but it's time well spent. Good food, casual environment, and English menus for travelers like yours truly. Would return.
