Beautifully decorated for Christmas! I wanted to love this restaurant, but did not and won't return. My friend and I with her child and mom arrived just before 3pm Sunday. According to their website, there was happy hour and live music from 3-6 with $7 margaritas. I proactively mentioned happy hour and when the server seemed confused, I showed him the advertisement on their website. Soon after, the manager/owner walked over and said they had no live music that day. I asked about the $7 happy hour price for margaritas, and he responded they were not offering that either. False advertising is not good business.
The food was ok, not great. The street tacos did not come with limes which is unusual. The elote and rice tasted freshly made. The tortillas tasted store bought.
Service was bad. Our server was friendly, but very inattentive and forgetful. We had to remind him 3 times that we ordered Blanco queso before we got it, and it was only moderately warm, not hot. We got our entrees way before the Blanco queso appetizer. Our server never asked us how our food was or if he could get us anything except for offering soda drink refills shortly before we left.
When I was leaving, another manager/owner asked how everything was. I was honest and started to tell him about my experience. Both he and the manager/owner who visited our table at the beginning were very defensive and aggressive saying the Sunday happy hour was only one particular Sunday and he already told me that. They aggressively asked what they could do about it. In my mind, it was too late for offering a $7 margarita or a refund. Because he asked, I simply was trying to be honest and offer constructive criticism to remove the happy hour advertisement from their website or honor the happy hour prices on it, but they angrily told me to leave a bad review - that will actually help their business. Their aggressive, angry words really left a bad taste in my mouth.
