Enjoyed a nice Friday night dinner here. First time trying this place and we really enjoyed it. Had their top shelf margarita and was disappointed. It really didn’t taste like a top shelf version. We also had their beef chimichanga., that was a 5 star item for sure. Will definitely come check out their “Happy Hour”. Service was 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ One thing that I must mention that bothered us throughout our visit was a funny smell. We couldn’t figure out what it was., like an old dirty rag smell. It happens and we understand., but we will give it another try for sure. Definitely recommend this place.

My biggest surprise was that this place was not at all busy on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in Dallas! The service was A1! The food (we only had apps and well the pics are of empty plates “sorry not sorry”) was A1 - flavorful, fresh and just the right amount of everything that was needed to make it delicious. The drinks were delicious (I had a Tropical I believe-Im sure these would sneak up on you). The decor is a perfect setting for all you who are looking for THAT social media pic with THAT background! I really hope we had just missed the big Saturday rush and that this place gets the attention I believe it deserves (Im going back today for brunch before my flight because I want to try more!!!)

Last weekend, my family of 7 came in one hour before closing. Not only was the staff very kind and welcoming, but never once did they seem to want to hurry us out. All of my children, husband, and I had a wonderful time… the decor and inside aesthetic is so much fun! The food was delicious and we loved the variety of queso choices! My entire family loved the rice! (Which my 9 and 10 year olds normally don’t eat at Mexican restaurants!) Our waitress and the owner were so helpful and very friendly! We look forward to coming back!

Google
What an amazing hidden gem. The food is absolutely amazing and their menu is so vast that there is something for everyone. Drinks are great, and the atmosphere is so cute. The staff is so nice and gets out of their way to provide the best service

Google
First time eating here, I had the crispy beef Tacos with rice and beans. The reason I gave 3 stars is because of the rice and beans. The beans were full of lard and the rice had no flavor.

Brittany Clark

Google
My favorite dinner and brunch spot. Mario and Ivan are amazing! Bennie is the best server 🥳 The frozen margs and Paloma’s are top notch. Highly recommend the ceviche and empanadas!

Google
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Highly recommend trying the arrachera steak—it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Definitely a spot worth coming back to! 🌮🥩🍹

Google
I love having a good place that’s walking distance from home. The food always hits the spot and the drinks are great! The owner and staff have always been very nice, friendly and generous o the community. They support local schools and are always happy to host neighborhood gatherings. And bonus: they have a vegan menu!

Yelp
When the chips stick together you know it's a winner. Well flavored meats and salsas. Everything was fresh and the service was friendly! Tried the yellow queso and would try the white next time.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated for Christmas! I wanted to love this restaurant, but did not and won't return. My friend and I with her child and mom arrived just before 3pm Sunday. According to their website, there was happy hour and live music from 3-6 with $7 margaritas. I proactively mentioned happy hour and when the server seemed confused, I showed him the advertisement on their website. Soon after, the manager/owner walked over and said they had no live music that day. I asked about the $7 happy hour price for margaritas, and he responded they were not offering that either. False advertising is not good business. The food was ok, not great. The street tacos did not come with limes which is unusual. The elote and rice tasted freshly made. The tortillas tasted store bought. Service was bad. Our server was friendly, but very inattentive and forgetful. We had to remind him 3 times that we ordered Blanco queso before we got it, and it was only moderately warm, not hot. We got our entrees way before the Blanco queso appetizer. Our server never asked us how our food was or if he could get us anything except for offering soda drink refills shortly before we left. When I was leaving, another manager/owner asked how everything was. I was honest and started to tell him about my experience. Both he and the manager/owner who visited our table at the beginning were very defensive and aggressive saying the Sunday happy hour was only one particular Sunday and he already told me that. They aggressively asked what they could do about it. In my mind, it was too late for offering a $7 margarita or a refund. Because he asked, I simply was trying to be honest and offer constructive criticism to remove the happy hour advertisement from their website or honor the happy hour prices on it, but they angrily told me to leave a bad review - that will actually help their business. Their aggressive, angry words really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
Cons: Food was cold, tasted like left overs and not worth the money! Fajitas were bland and hardly any meat. Mostly all onions. $30 for a plate of onions and cold tortillas. The rice tasted funny and seemed like really old left overs. The beans were also cold. We will never go back. What a waste of Saturday night dinner and $90. Pro: The server was nice.

Yelp
All of the tacos had great flavor and were a good portion. We both had plenty of food to take home. Our server was new and still learning the menu, but was able to answer our questions. They close the kitchen pretty early, but the bar stays open later and I loved that they had the stars game playing. Our drinks were good, and the food had a lot of flavor and was well cooked. Happy to find a good Mexican food place in the neighborhood

Yelp
Service was very exceptionally friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced since we showed up at Happy Hour! I went there to specifically try the roasted pulled pork (Cochinita Pibil), which was tender and very well seasoned. My only complaint was that the corn tortillas seemed a bit raw (crudas, sin dorar), and the pibil was dry (poco resseca). Interested to give them a second chance due to the amazing customer service. Decor and ambiance were also very welcoming.

Yelp
We came here two days in a row. And both times food and service were above average. The food is flavorful and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. In the ambience of the restaurant is very casual and fun. Their ranch water was great. Their brunch menu looks fantastic, and I can't wait to come back and try it. The owner stop by our table both visits and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patrons. I'm excited to see what this restaurant hasn't store for the future.

Yelp
Like they say in South France, this place is ¡Muy Bueno! Had lunch with a buddy who also loves Mexican food. We came in after 1pm and it was almost deserted. To start, the chips and salsa were great. I asked if it was gringo salsa (en Español), the server replied, ¡Como que No! It wasn't! I ordered the pork street tacos and a side of beans. The tacos were some of the best I've had this year. He had the beef enchilada plate, which he wolfed down. Since we're working just a few buildings over, we will be back.

Yelp
House made chips and salsa, who could say no!??! If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, then put this on your list of stops. The food was good and fast. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to bring our meal to us. The food here is something that every Abuela would be proud of. So the next time you're in his neck of the woods stop in for authentic Mexican meal. Be sure to save room for dessert.

Yelp
This place is absolutely incredible! If you are in the mood for excellent Mexican food, customer service, and a great time out in Dallas, this place will not disappoint! Owners Mario & Ivan make it a point to connect and engage with each customer to ensure everything is up to par! Great vibes, music, and more ...come hungry, stay thirst, and be photo ready! Not only is the food a 10 out of 10, great place to take some nice photos while enjoying the moment! Salsa is fresh, chips are crunchy, and queso is think and creamy! Recommendations: Beef enchiladas or Breakfast Tacos served with rice & beans! Added pickled jalapeño for an extra kick! Cheers, enjoy, leave full and happy!

Yelp
Cute restaurant off the beaten path. I loved the colorful decor and simple menu. The waitress was good and made sure we had everything in a timely manner.

Yelp
So I've been in my feelings a bit since the OG Oak Cliff El Fenix and Tejas closed a while ago. Where are all the classic Tex-Mex joints going? Well, Comida has come along to save the day! Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) I had during my recent visit was EXCELLENT! You really can't go wrong so just order whatever looks good to you because it will be good. And I love that they prepare their nachos the correct way with all of the toppings on EVERY SINGLE CHIP! Not with everything just thrown on top like you're at a football game. Service was so friendly and fast. And I love the decor! No evidence of the former Spiral diner. Just cute pink flamingos everywhere! So happy I found my new neighborhood Tex-Mex spot!
google avatar

Yelp
This the best place to enjoy MexTex at the best price point!!!! I'm addicted to the chimichangas but I'm gonna get the 9.99 enchilada plate next Wednesday !!! Owner is always there to shake my hand! The service is great and is eager to please all guests who are ready to enjoy proper MexTex in a prime location!!!!!!!! Chips- Bussin Salsa- Bussin So happy this my neighborhood mextex restaurant

Yelp
We went to celebrate a birthday and had 9 people in our group, it was all of our first times visiting La Comida. The ambiance was really awesome, love the decor. We were greeted and sat immediately. We tried several of the signature cocktails and they were yummy. They were already sold out of the empanadas but that just gives me more of a reason to go back! The owners were there and both came by to ensure we had everything we needed and they were very personable. All in all it was a lovely, delicious experience and we were all excited to have found this gem in the neighborhood!

Yelp
We have been here a few times on Sundays and food is always fresh and tasty, service is always great! The staff go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of, always friendly smiles, we will definitely be visiting again, ambiance is great, they do have private events at times so I would contact the restaurant first, we found out recently about the private events, the restaurant had closed early for the event but even at that the staff were still so friendly and even offered us complimentary chips and salsa for takeout, we kindly declined but was very nice of them to offer.

Yelp
Once you make the "U-turn" find parking and get inside. The food is so good! Really everything was enjoyable, from service to decor. Had a great time meeting up with a small group of family and friends. We had 8 people and 4 servers, take that fancy pants steakhouses. Viva taco revolution!

Yelp
Man... this place is a hidden gem. Really neat space inside with diner style tables and a large bar. Right off the bat the chips and salsa is the first measuring point for a Mexican spot and theirs do not disappoint. Super crispy chips and the salsa is fantastic. Margaritas are dangerous, they taste fresh and no bite. To eat, we got the pulled chicken chilaquiles and the Yucatán style pulled pork tacos. Elote and charro beans on the side. The chilaquiles was amazing topped off with a little salsa and the pork tacos were tender and super flavorful topped with pickled onions. Service was great as well, could tell the management/staff really care about taking care of customers and keeping a well run shop.

Yelp
La Comida makes the best food in Dallas! Mario and Ivan have been cooking delicious food for decades, and they never disappoint. The margaritas are amazing. They won best margarita in Addison a few years back when the restaurant was located there. Just about everything on the menu is delicious, I especially love the fajitas and enchiladas. Make sure you pay La Comida a visit if you're in the area and looking for amazing Mexican food!
google avatar

Yelp
One of my new favorite restaurants! My Lions Club went there for happy hour. We were all treated so nice by the staff and management. The food was absolutely delicious. What a nice addition to the Bishop Arts District. Do yourself a favor and go here!
google avatar

Skyy S.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place because the colors are very enticing. When we walked in the staff was VERY friendly. They sat us very quickly. We started off with the complimentary Chips and Salsa. The salsa was very spicy and I loved it. I also wanted to try the Queso Fundido and it was so good. I would solely come here for just that because I could not stop eating it. I landed on the Chicken Chimichanga for my entree and my boyfriend got the nachos. My favorite were the nachos. They were perfect and even better when I added a little Queso on top. PERFECT! The owner or manager not sure stopped by the table and told us this is their second week. I definitely see us coming back. Great service and even better food!

Amanda P.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Best salsa I've had in a long time. The dishes are perfectly seasoned. Portions are great. Service was fantastic. This is my New Mexican food spot!

Anna L.

Yelp
I'm usually pretty snobby when it comes to my Tex-Mex, but this place is the the BEES KNEES! Their brunch, lunch, and dinner is superb! Also, if you're a frozen marg fan - this is your spot! We go almost every Saturday. All the stars.
google avatar

Joey G.

Yelp
The food is bad. Sorry no way around this. I ordered a Chimichanga with chicken inside, and the tortilla was raw. The chicken tasted bland and like nothing. The rice and beans were horrible. It's honestly a real big shame because the staff is so friendly and attentive but the food is just not good at this place, I tried other things there and they were OK but nothing really stood out. Also, the bathrooms need to be tended to a little more frequently and maybe have some sort of plug-ins or candles burning because it smelled horrible.

Yelp
My family loves that we discovered this amazing restaurant near Bishop Arts District. The food is amazing! The drinks are delicious and made with fresh ingredients. I've visited this place on 3 separate occasions and every time the service is great, the food is great, and the vibe is right! Try the Mexican pulled pork tacos.
google avatar

Chad S.

Yelp
Continues to be one of the best Mexican food places in Dallas! The mango ceviche is incredibly fresh and bright with flavor, all the chicken dishes are cooked to perfection, and the service is always fantastic. Both the owners are often there and walking around greeting people. It's such a good vibe.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
The food and service here is amazing! The food is delicious and the carne asada is so flavorful and the steak is a great cut of meat! Drinks are also delicious and portion sizes are great! Mario and Ivan do a great job here AND they cater! Love coming here and love their new location!

MiKaylyn G.

Yelp
Amazing, quick service! I also got a mango margarita and it's one of the best I've ever had! If you have been check it out!!

Yelp
Yummy food. So excited to have new Tex mex spot in oak cliff. The food was delicious. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. Can't wait for the bar to open.
google avatar

Camille H.

Yelp
Want some solid tex mex food while supporting a family small business, definitely go to La Comida! The service was excellent. The food was standard tex Mex in the best way and tasty! We went on a Wednesday and took advantage of the enchilada special. It's also so convenient since they have a shared parking lot. Glad they're in the neighborhood!

Sam B.

Yelp
I wanted to really like this place, but I just didn't. First off, the service was great. The chips and salsa were tasty as well. Unfortunately, the food is lacking, the queso was flavorless and watery. The margaritas are SMALL and even with a happy hour special very over priced. The rice has no flavor, the beans have a bacon taste which I didn't like. I ordered the combination fajitas and it was the smallest fajitas I've ever seen....3 pieces of shrimp and a few strips of chicken and steak for $28?! Not good value.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Addison's loss is Oak Cliff's gain. Don't miss this incredible spot in Kidd Springs serving classic TexMex and Cancun style Mexican food. The salmon dish is one of the best thing I've ever had. Oh, and you HAVE to get the Cuatro Leches cake for desert. I swear you won't regret it.
google avatar

Laura Y.

Yelp
Just went to a wonderful cute spot in Bishop Arts proximity !! La Comida delivered. Yummy chorizo fundido, fajitas with a stack of onion rings gone wild. Fantastic twist to flock up your taste buds to enjoy the challenge of good food.

James S.

Yelp
I don't know what cocktails or food everyone else has been eating here, but 4 of us had brunch there today and the drinks (margaritas, sangria) and the food (tacos, breakfast stack enchiladas, queso) all tasted like they came out of a jar or a can. We won't be back.
google avatar

Shane A.

Yelp
Great food, great service, friendly owners and a really cute atmosphere. This is a Lake Cliff gem inside a historic Oak Cliff building.
google avatar

Luis G.

Yelp
Amazing care and attention by the owners that are always ready to serve not only their customers but also the community

Logan B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The service was beyond compare and the food was even better! If you are looking for good drinks and good company this is the place!!
google avatar

Jm H.

Yelp
Our favorite Tex-Mex lunch spot. Great food and a really friendly staff, I mean genuinely nice people. The crispy taco is a fave, a freshly cooked corn tortilla shell seems like a minor thing but it's the little things like that make a place stand out. And ya gotta love the decor.

Gail G.

Yelp
We love La Comida! The staff are always amazing and the owners are always so nice and remember us, we love that. The food is always great and the Margaritas are strong and yummy. Great staff, great food, neighborhoody feel.

Yelp
Happy birthday to my dear friend Mario! My excitement for you two young men to be ROCKING IT on your own makes my life complete. I love you both and your servers were amazing. Can't leave them out. I will be back often and please know we (all of your loyal customers that have missed you) will support you as much as possible. YOU WERE MISSED!! I love you boys, well you were boys when we met. MEN now and loving it.

Vince M.

Yelp
We had a special event here, and everything was perfect. The brothers, Ivan and Mario, rolled the red carpet out and were very accommodating. We frequent the restaurant and always have a great experience. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the place is nicely designed.
google avatar

Lucinda R.

Yelp
This location is a good spot for a Mexican restaurant with not too many on this side of Beckley. I really wanted to love this place it's so beautiful. The hostess sat us in the front, I was bumped a few times & it was cold. I asked to move but she just scooted us a few inches. I didn't want to be a pest. Our waiter wasn't as attentive as she should have been, it was 6 pm on a Saturday night. The place wasn't swamped. The elote is just canned corn, I wasn't expecting that for $4.50. The green salsa is about the only thing that seemed authentic and very delicious as it should for $5 for 3oz. Even though we sat and waited at least 6-7 minutes for salsa after entree came out. We really attempted to hold out eating until we got salsa. Fajitas for 2 at 45.99 is not the quality I was expecting and very disappointing. The scenery and salsa is good.
google avatar

Isabella C.

Yelp
Amazing service and its very cute inside. The food took a little long but everything was fresh and forgot it even took a second. Highly recommend the brisket tacos. Soo good. No alcohol yet but still worth trying.
google avatar

Wendy N.

Yelp
The place was cute for maybe a brunch setting. Food was okay, we can tell the ceviche wasn't authentic then again its more of Tex -Mex concept. Service was decent, we did have to as for chips several times. For a place that has the word cocktail in their business name, it was disappointing that they didn't have a cocktail menu.
google avatar

Bruce V.

Yelp
I wanted to like this restaurant, I suppose if you like Texas' version of Mexican food I'm sure it will suffice- the place is instagram friendly and staff great- the food was probably the least appealing I've Mexican food I have had to date. The meat tasted off or just flavored weird the rice and beans were uninspiring.

Russell T.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I love the fajitas and eggs for brunch. They open at 10:00 and I like to go to brunch early. Great chips and salsa. Mimosa is a must try. I highly recommend. Great addition to the neighborhood and the owners always come by to make sure everything is perfect.
google avatar

Casey G.

Yelp
Great, fresh food, chips, salsa and margaritas. Great customer service. Five stars when the tortilla maker is up and running. I've lived in Oak Cliff all my life and recommend this place. Herrera's is my spot but I can go here l, spend $5 more and be treated well with fresh food.

Karl L.

Yelp
This place opened in December. At the moment it is BYOB but I was told their liquor license should arrive in 2 weeks. Very welcoming staff and ambience. Came here for lunch. Chips were fresh and the salsa had the perfect amount of kick. The perfect start to a great meal. I had the cheese enchilada / beef taco lunch special with charro beans and rice. It was extremely fresh tasting with just the right amount of seasoning. My colleague had the chicken fajita and he enjoyed his meal as well. Our meal was brought out quickly and the waiter was stellar! He checked on us throughout the meal and was very happy to tell me about their homemade tamales when I asked about them as well as the different sauces they have available. The owners came over to thank us for our business and were sincerely grateful and welcoming. While I don't live in Dallas anymore this spot is now on my must visit list when I return. Life is too short for bad Tex-Mex and service. La Comida sets the bar very high. Give them a try!

Dia B.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The chips and salsa are great. Fajitas and chicken enchiladas are excellent.

Yelp
Great food and service. Great owners - have known them for some years! Margaritas really good as well. Will be back.
