What to Eat at the 2024 LA County Fair | Eater LA

"Returning to the Pomona Fairplex from May 3–27, the fair is showcasing more than 1,200 wild and wooly culinary creations, from eccentric sweets to over-the-top burgers and deep-fried riffs; highlights called out include Chicken Charlie’s chicken sandwich with hot honey funnel cake “buns,” the pineapple-whip stand’s outrageous “pickle split” (a bisected dill pickle filled with pineapple whip topped with sour string candy, chamoy, and Tajin), and longtime vendor Tasti Chips’ “mondo beef birria cheeseburger.”" - Cathy Chaplin

LA County Fair Keeps Tickets Low, Food Cheap to Lure In New Customers | Eater LA

"I learned the Los Angeles County Fair, which saw a 7% drop in attendance last year, is trying to lure younger visitors by keeping weekday adult tickets at $14 ($20 on weekends) and holding individual food items and combo meals at $6.60 as part of this year’s Route 66 theme; organizers hope these discounts will counter rising prices, warmer summer temperatures, and annual operating losses and encourage Angelenos to try funnel cake and fried Oreos." - Farley Elliott

Ive been coming here since I was s kid. Always brings me joy go come here and walk around to enjoy the festivities. My favorite part js the animal petting zoo area. I have to get my cow milk and feed the sheep. I wish they bring back the fair themes they use to have. They picked a different theme every year. Now its just the regular fair. But its still entertaining. The rides are fun. The food is what i really go for. You have to try rifikaz foodz, its so good with huge portions. In the buildings, if you like hot sauce, ghost scream hot sauce is in building 4 and they have the best hotsauces ever. This year i tried the silent disco for the first time and i loved it. They have stages with music if you just want to listen or dance. After all these years it still entertaining and fun.

Free summer concerts! Secret 🤫 any tickets that didn't sell (for the main stage) are free at the Rose ticket booth. I got tickets to see Dru Hill and Mya! The food was unique and tasty. The rides/games are super pricey, so be prepared to spend 💰 💸

People and Exhibits both seemed a little smaller again this year, maybe due to predatory prices from parking to pizza. Hard to see how $26 parking serves the people of LA County. Still, here are some hidden treasure photos found for free.

Food expensive, rides over priced, vendor's not so many , flower garden disappointed

I have not been to the LA County Fair since I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade (I'm 40 now). It was great to return and still see that it has the same charm with an upgrade. Many vendors where I wanted to go broke or follow them on social media to spend my money on their items for later. The food was great. I wish a little more variety was around, though. The performances available are great. The rides were a treat, so were the games. The games could be pricey, so choose wisely.

Well the fair is wonderful! The exposition halls were really great this year...and the food, yum!

It's okay, but it wouldn't do it again. It is just as expansive as the other parks that have better crowds. There are too many tough guys, too many people smoking weed. It's a little cheesy. The park itself is great. They have fun rides, museums, and petting zoo. Food was expansive, long lines, and at times pre-made and cold.

Yelp
Plan your day in advance by checking the website for special events and concerts during the annual County Fair. Recently this annual event changed from September to May 2 to 26, 2025. That's three weekends, which are the most popular days. I bought Admission tickets and a parking pass a month in advance. Special pricing and deals can be found on the website for admission and wristbands for rides at the carnival side of the fairgrounds. There is discounted prices for children and senior citizens. I usually come for the Exhibits. Concerts, Wine Tasting of the Blue Ribbon and Gold Medal wines. See you next year, sincerely, Rosemary

Yelp
Better than the orange county fair in many aspects. The entry and parking is seamless and well organized. They have shuttles for transportation and numerous entry lines. The food vendors include korean corn dogs, mexican food, bbq (of course), and others. They have plenty of shade, from indoor convention centers to outdoor nature walks. There are plenty of places to sit and relax in between visiting the animals, rides, vendors, and food. TIP: prepay for your tickets, there are many deals out there. We took advantage of the discounted evening price which was more than enough time at the event at a great price.

Yelp
The LA County Fair is always a fun time, but going on a Thursday night with the golden hour deal made it even better. I paid just $15 after 4 p.m. and was pleasantly surprised by how cool and uncrowded it was. The usual fair energy was still there, but without the shoulder-to-shoulder chaos that can happen on weekends. It was the perfect setup for enjoying the food stands, checking out the exhibits, and taking in the lights and sounds at a more relaxed pace. I still got all the classic fair fun like deep-fried everything, colorful booths, and plenty of people watching, just without the heat or long lines. If you want the full fair experience but can do without the crowds, a weekday evening might be the sweet spot. I left happy, full, and already planning what to eat next year.

Yelp
My 2025 visit to the LA County fair in Pomona. I visited the fairgrounds on Saturday, May 17, 2025 after purchasing my e-tickets online from Costco, paid $64 for 4 tickets, plus an additional ticket on the back of the savings coupon book which came with the package deal as well as 20 ride and carnival tickets which seem to be the best deal in town this season. We were told online that the fair was cashless but when we arrived, we discovered there were vendors accepting cash. I think they should consider offer a parking pass with the package but I digress. The day we visited there was a major overcast, dark cloud covering and it sprinkled and there was rain. It was super crowded, no room to walk through, no where to sit and the crowd was different. Some were very rude. I guess my leisure walking was too slow for some so they stepped on the back of my heels to move me out of the way. My daughter in law was elbowed very hard with no apology. It was just uncomfortable and Ive been going to the fairgrounds since I was a little girl, but again this time was different. Now, about the food, the main reason anyone goes to the fairgrounds other than the concerts and shopping. I couldn't decide what I wanted this year but I settled with my usual Texas Bacon Donut, it was okay. This year I tried a new donut, the Fire Flame Banana Donut (not sure if that is the name of it), but it was delicious. I guess it was supposed to be like a Banana Flambe. It was carmalized with bananas and whip cream on top and that was the best donut Ive had in a long time. I also had a lobster roll and lobster fries for the first time from Chicken Charlies. I have to say, it was the best thing I ate at the fair thus far. Wish I would have had it on my previous visits. I actually took it home and heated it up in the oven and devoured it. I also had a small corndog but it wasn't fresh so I didn't enjoy it this year. We also walked through some of the exhibits, which I always enjoy. We only stayed a couple of hours and I was ready to go. Maybe I will go to the OC Fair.

Yelp
This will be my last time attending the fair. Everything is overpriced and there is not much to do unless you're willing to spend the money. Cons - Admission to get in is pricey. - Parking is $26 unless you purchase it online which is slightly cheaper - Food/Games/rides are marked up - The lines to get into the rides are long - There is a lack of security presence - bathrooms we visited were not cleaned

Yelp
We were pretty late when it came to the 2025 L.A. County Fair this year. After getting caught up with work and whatnot, our only free day to check it out was on Memorial Day (the last day it was open). But we've been to the fair many times before so we're pretty much pros at this point! Always pay for your tickets and parking ahead of time for (slightly) cheaper prices - hey, every dollar counts! This year they had a sunset special deal on tickets where it costs $15 after 2PM (I believe it's after 4PM the previous days). Quite a steal and honestly we just might do that from now on so we're not roasting all day in the sun and chancing heat stroke! We parked and entered the fair by the Plaza De Las Americas. Absolutely love this entrance! It's where all the non-games action is happening and it's closest to the farm if you want to get that out of the way as soon as possible. It's also conveniently close to the restrooms if you gotta go after the long drive! The fair has a value menu at select vendors for $9.75 if you want to save on food since it can otherwise get pricey. Come after pay day and with a large appetite because as everyone knows, the food is the main attraction of the fair! Our first stop was Backyard BBQ village where we had birria curly fries - chef's kiss! We washed it down with agua frescas which hit the spot bullseye! We tried the chocolate strawberry cups since Dubai chocolate is all the rage these days apparently. Very yummy but very messy! Grab extra napkins because your face will be covered in chocolate (unless you're a very fancy foodie). We both had the value menu at Tasti Burgers - she got the burgers with fries while I had the hot dog. It was meh but a decent non-expensive meal. Our gluttonous adventure came to an end with jalapeno bacon bombs and a footlong hot dog from Back A Fair. We regretted the footlong hot dog but at that point it is what it is! How best to offset clogging your arteries with calories galore? Walk it out obviously! The farm has plenty of flowers and animals to take pictures of. The flowers and garden pavilion had a theme of "Art Unleashed" so it was colorful in artsy fartsy ways. The Culture of the Low and Slow is always dependable for cool lowriders and tricked out cars. The expo halls and vendors offer many interesting stuff to peruse or buy. One hall had the Skate-R-Cade, with one half dedicated to arcade games and the other half being a roller rink. One hall had Type Town, where you can see a mini typewriter museum and even use one for the memories (or for the gram if you're too young to know what these are). Around the corner was was a Free Big Little Library, offering books to keep for free! I grabbed a crime book to add to my ever-growing collection. Overall we had a great time at the 2025 L.A. County Fair and can't wait to come back. Hopefully they have the sunset special deal on tickets again because that's honestly the best part of the day to visit the fair. It can get fairly hot so if you come early layer up on sunscreen and drink drink drink! Also, if you're on a budget and don't want to spend an arm & a leg on food, fyi you can bring in your own food/drinks!

Yelp
Stopped by on Sunday, 05/04/25 (LA County Day) with my boyfriend. My boyfriend also purchased concert tickets to see Los Angeles Azules (my first time seeing them and my favorite cumbia band - truly the best day ever). We didn't know that if you purchased a concert ticket, then no need to purchase a separate admission ticket to the fair. Unfortunately we didn't know this and tried to request for a refund (unsuccessful). Nonetheless, we had a great time eating food (elote and esquite my fav). We each purchased a Passport to Savings booklet and used some coupons - it's like a mini scavenger hunt trying to find the foodie places for the coupons!

Yelp
I've lived in LA my whole life, and this was my first time at the LA County Fair--I had a really lovely time! I bought tickets and parking online, which saved me money compared to at-the-door prices. They have a great deal for entry after 5 PM--only $15 per adult instead of $30. There's also a $16 ticket deal through Superior Grocers, which is another great way to save. I especially appreciated the Thursday canned goods deal, where bringing canned food gets you free admission. I wish this offer was available on weekends too--it would benefit working-class families who can't attend during the week. That said, be prepared to spend a lot once you're inside--everything is very expensive. For example, we paid $12 for an elote and $5 for a bottle of water. We'd heard that all booths were supposed to offer free water if requested, but this wasn't honored when we tried, so we had to purchase bottled water anyway. This year, the fair was held in May instead of September. Some of the exhibition areas felt pretty empty, and many booths were selling things like hot tubs, massage chairs, cookware, and mattresses--it felt more like a warehouse sale than a fair in parts. One of the highlights for me was the farm area, which had cows, pigs, goats, and other animals. My favorite place to eat was at the only on-site restaurant, run by JLR Catering in the Avalon building. They had live karaoke, which was so fun to watch! I also really enjoyed the Flower & Garden Pavilion and loved the lowrider showcase--it was meaningful to see Chicano culture represented, especially for visitors who aren't local. There's a lineup of performances throughout the fair, but be sure to buy those tickets in advance--some of the bigger artists sold out. Lastly, I appreciate that the fair has a value menu to help folks find more affordable food options. However, for someone like me with dietary restrictions, there wasn't much I could eat. If you have food restrictions, I recommend bringing your own snacks or planning to eat at the JLR restaurant, which had better options. Overall, I had a fun time and I'm glad I finally got to experience the LA County Fair!

Yelp
The LA County Fair is a yearly tradition for me, and it never disappoints! One of my absolute favorite parts is visiting the animal area--I love feeding the goats and sheep. It's such a fun, hands-on experience, especially for kids and animal lovers. Another must-see is the Great Outdoors area. I always make a point to saw a piece of wood and get it branded for free-it's a cool, rustic souvenir and a fun activity you don't see every day. If you're going during opening weekend, take advantage of the freebies! There's always something fun being handed out, from snacks to little trinkets. Also, don't miss the Garden Promenade near the wine tasting area- it's peaceful, beautifully landscaped, and always a great spot for photos.

Yelp
I haven't been to the LA County Fair in a hot minute. My husband and I decided to go as we didn't want conventional maternity photos, so we thought...why not try for a Fair shoot? We were able to grab our tickets online at Costco for a cheaper price than paying at the door, and I'm glad we did. I honestly don't think it would be worth it if you paid full price. Everything at the fair is marked up like crazy. The rides aren't cheap, food is expensive, and there are long lines for everything. Granted, we did go on a Friday night, so maybe it would have been less packed if we came another night? Parking was $26! Nevertheless, I don't think I'd be coming back here again. I'd be leaving with an empty pocket if I came to the fair.

Yelp
Super crowded fair but not too bad. Buy your tickets online, there's a deal for $15 tickets after 4pm. Parking was cheaper online as well. Good spot for your friends and family to spend the day. I enjoyed the parakeet booth! There's halls filled with cool shops and trinkets. Lots of animals at the petting zoo.

Yelp
Have not been to the LA County fair in years, but I recently came to another event last Friday. The event was the Oktoberfest and the tickets were reasonable. The beer was good even though I am not a beer drinker, and the prices were considered average, since $17 is the normal now for drinks. They had decent amount of food vendors and they left King Taco open, which is what I decided to eat. Also, Whalburger was there as well so I tried a chicken sandwich. The ambiance was good and nice fun event! I had a great time for sure! Easy parking but $25 for parking which was insane! I will still come back here for an event and the fair. I would recommend here for next year as well. -Marshay D.

Yelp
Love the fair. It's best to get there around 4-5pm. The sun will set soon and it's not as hot. We loved the silent disco and the art exhibits. Save money by waiting for deals through the website. This year they had half off after 4pm. Or you could purchase through Costco.

Yelp
I always have a great time at the fair. The food is always delicious and they have a variety of options and tons of vendors. The lines can be long but they move pretty quickly. The atmosphere was great , and it's a great way to spend the day. Parking is $20 Admission $15-$20 depending on where you purchase tickets The biggest ripoff is the ticket prices for games/ rides. Each ride and game varies but it's usually around 9 tickets per person. A $100 book doesn't last long.. The fun part besides the food is all the exhibits/booths selling art, clothes, snacks, gadgets etc. if you take cash you can haggle the price. Have fun and enjoy your experience
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyed visiting the fair after many years of not attending. Seems there were not as many vendors as in the past with the exception of the usual fair food. The garden exhibit is a favorite as always and did not disappoint. The wine tasting area is beautiful and a nice change from the outdoors. Having gone on a Friday it was not very crowded, which made it more enjoyable. While it was nice to visit again, it's just gotten a bit too pricey to go again anytime soon
google avatar

Yelp
The fair is always a fun time! Was invited to sample some foods, play games & ride some rides and it was overall a good time. Remember where you park! The parking lot is huge and has limited signage. Everyone was nice at the fair. The food was typical fair food: fried, sweet, carby, and delicious. My favorite item I tried was the strawberry horchata. The Crazy Coaster was my favorite ride. There's lots to do and see. They have pig racing, an art exhibit, shopping, food, etc.

Yelp
Friday, May 17, 2024: Ordering online gave us tremendous discounts and a total convenience! Everything was on my phone so it made entry very easy. Our tickets were $12 each since we're seniors & parking was $5 less. At the gate general admission was a whopping $30! We arrived Friday afternoon so it wasn't too crowded. It was about a month after my surgery so I found I tired easily. Wish they offered more seating throughout. As is our ritual, we headed to Pink's Hot Dogs first for their chili cheese dogs & fries. We always enjoy the meal. We visited every exhibit hall, which was redundant, filled with the same type of vendors; some are so aggressive it's annoying. One of the buildings has a huge stage but they no longer offer any shows. Our favorite exhibit is the Garden Railroad. We're considering volunteering to help maintain it. We really miss the circus area, which showcased Dream World Cirque, Cirque de Feu, and Steampunk Acrobats in the past. There used to be circus themed shows with jugglers, stilt walkers, magic, animals, acrobats, and silk aerialists. It was noticeably absent. Hope they bring it back because it added a unique & very enjoyable component to the fair. We walked around a bit and of course we had to bring home a bag of kettle corn popcorn. Eddie's Asian Cuisine is still the best deal around. The two entree meal under $17 is more than enough to feed two adults. It was a fun day but it could have been better. Missing the circus shows, the entertainment that used to wander about throughout the fair, better selection of vendors, and it would be nice to have charging stations like the OC Fair.

Yelp
Best to go weeks days , lots of games , food , and shows. Una feria grandisima y con muchos juegos ,comida conciertos , granjas y mucho mas , es mejor ir entre semana y ropa comoda

Yelp
Our first time at the LA county fair and it did not disappoint. You need to spend an entire day there! Entry tickets were discounted online versus in person by eleven bucks. Parking was still twenty and we decided to purchase the savings book which we took advantage of everywhere that accepted it. This place is bigger than the OC fair, for sure. Tons of different things to do like watch pig/geese races, check out the horses, play games, win cute plush toys, ride rides, and try all the fried foods! We stumbled upon a candy zig zag line that had old school candy. It was nostalgic. We ended up spending fifty bucks on candy! We're still munching on candy a whole week later. All in all, we had a good time and I'd love to return next year. But remember that fairs are PRICEY! Be ready to spend a bunch of money!! Might as well have a good time doing it :)

Yelp
I thought the fair had something for everyone. It was my first visit, and the parking seemed a bit overwhelming, but it wasn't at all. We paid online, showed the phone, got right inside. I loved the garden pavilion, it was the most beautifully painted, decorated and represented building. We saw quilts, paintings, photos and all kinds of food for competitive judging. We ate a very delicious 50/50 at Mom's bakeshoppe. It was a brownie with chocolate chip cookie that was still warm and melted in your mouth!! I found two amazing leather bound journals. I love shopping local handcrafted pieces. We saw a fun magic bean show and lumberjack show, Lee was so funny. And a really fun Tree Circus. The whole day was a blast, I really loved the Stars and Stripes theme. Felt really patriotic! I'm going to make plans to return next year for sure. Oh my favorite part of the fair was inside the AG building, they had really creative art pieces done by kids with rice and seeds, I just really loved that so much. I'll be back, thank you LA County Fair

Yelp
Every time i visit the LA county fair, it gets better and better. The food options expand, more attractions, more vendors! Yes, it's pricey. $35 for parking, + admission. Prices for admission differs by weekday/weekends. But the fair only comes once a year. Most rides are about 6 tickets. You can purchase ticket packages and unlimited ride bracelet $50 (ends at 7pm). You will find so many different vendors inside and outside the fairgrounds. If you can get VIP parking, I suggest you do so, it's worth it. They have a pig race, which you can tell kids and adults enjoyed. We tried the birria quesadilla, which were phenomenal. We also had the fried Oreos which were amazing. At the end of the night we had the lobster sandwich which i did not like. The margaritas were weak. I think I'll pass on the mixed drinks next year.

Yelp
Yes! It's fun to come here, but be ready because the summer days are super hot. Get your cold drinks and portable fans ready. This fair is so large, compared to the OC Fair, so prepare to walk more. There's so much to see and do. Bring money for food, shopping, rides, games, and more! It's such a fun tradition to come here.
google avatar

Yelp
There is truly something for everyone at the LA County Fair! If you are someone who doesn't like to get on rides, there are several exhibit halls filled with vendors. I was really impressed by the number of vendors and the art exhibitions. I really liked the anime/vr/gaming hall because my son is interested in all that and not so much on the rides. There is no free parking, so I highly recommend you Uber or carpool. No outside drinks. Purchase your tickets before hand to avoid long lines. The wait time for rides wasn't so bad, the longest was 20 min on a Sunday afternoon. There is a "kids land" area for the little ones. It is truly an all day trip and a lot of fun for the whole family.
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
Tickets are $21 pp for opening days so far i believe. This fair is so cute I had a great time. You do need tickets for every ride or game but do not let your love for winning have you overpaying for a stuffed animals. Definitely get a turkey leg and dress for the weather it is hot at night now.

Yelp
I am a long time LA County Fair person going back to when my parents took me in the 60's! I went to the fair this year and was so disappointed. No animals except for goats and sheep. The vendors in the buildings were repetitive and boring. We stayed for just 5 hours. It has turned into 1 huge carnival ride. No more fun and exciting events going on. Plus ~ NO CASH, ALL CREDIT CARDS OR DEBT!!! Seriously??????

Yelp
We went yesterday. The reason we came was to work the register and take payments with my partners dad at one of the booths. His dad bought us both tickets with his own money to give us working passes that included parking. Once we arrived, we are checking in and hand a lady his ticket. She snatches it and says "you can't use this since you're not working" before we even said one word.. she just assumed we weren't working? I was shocked. She said go to the manager at the booth. So we walk over to this booth this extremely rude woman in the photo I attached didn't even attempt to be nice. We were in a great mood and excited to be there so we didn't mind too much at this point. She cracked open her window and just stared at us. By the way, the First Lady just took our ticket and didn't give it back. So we ask this new lady if she has our ticket. She said yes but it's mine now. What? She said "you had to be working to use this" again, we WERE working.. at this point I really couldn't believe what she was saying? We don't understand why she would just assume that? We explain to her exactly what we are going to be doing at his dad's stand. She said "oh well" we ask if we can have our ticket back since we paid for it and she says no and closes her window on us. Another person goes up to the window after us while we wait for his dad to let the office know to let us in. This new lady got really upset because the same thing happened to her. For some reason she just assumes people are trying to get it before even talking to them.. Before even saying hello! Anyway we ended up getting in thankfully! It's just so annoying it's like as if this lady was going out of her way to ruin peoples time. Maybe she was just having a bad day or something but even that isn't a good excuse to be so rude and literally STEAL from working paying customers/employees... she should definitely be looked into... very unprofessional. One of my other complaints Is that there are no exits anywhere to be found. It was extremely cramped with hundreds of people trying to exit towards the end of the day. We were completely stopped for minutes just trying to get to the exit. Nobody could move because of how many people were going in the same direction. What if there was an emergency? Definitely scary to think about! There would be no way that half of us would have been able to escape! So dangerous. Just found out the food vendor we went to stole our debit card info and is using it to buy random things! Nice job LA FAIR! So annoyed now! Never coming back.

Yelp
Had a great time at LA County Fair. Got to see 3 iconic Southern Rock bands on the same bill and got to check out the fair too since fair admission is included with the purchase of a concert ticket. Trying to get in was a nightmare though. Traffic going into the fairgrounds was backed up and one of the left turn signals wasn't functioning. Police were around to give tickets but would they take the time to direct traffic or at least notify someone about the malfunctioning traffic signal? Of course not. The bands playing that night were Molly Hatchet, the Outlaws, and 38 Special. Many great songs played by some great musicians. I'd never seen Molly Hatchet or 38 Special but I hadn't seen the Outlaws since they opened for Boston at the Long Beach arena after Boston's debut album hit the charts. They sound just as good as they did back then. Those old hits bring back some memories, good and bad from way back. ADA section was off to the left side of the stage. I was fortunate enough to land front row tickets which were reasonably priced since they were off to the side but my friends and I didn't care. Each band worked hard to give the crowd a good show. The sound was good so I was glad they had someone who knew what they were doing running the soundboard. No annoying feedback or lousy mix. Got to hear some great tunes like Flirtin' With Disaster, There Goes Another Love Song, Hurry Sundown, Ghost Riders, Hold On Loosley, Caught Up In You, and loads of others. Very cool. The fair itself was what you'd expect. Lots of rides with questionable safety. Hey, that's half the fun right? Loads of healthy foods like bbq pork belly wrapped in bacon, giant corn dogs, deep fried cheesecake/twinkies/oreos, and flaming hot Cheetos EVERYTHING. So concert or not, it's always fun to get out of the house for a while and enjoy the festivities this time of year.

Yelp
It's a must for me to go here every year and this has to be the best year yet! Even though I didn't get to explore the farm due to other commitments I had that day, I still had so much fun. There's too many things to post and wish I could fit them all on this reel. My favorite was the "Scaricature", the most unique caricature I've done thanks to JAGuerzon from Caricature Entertainment. He was amazing and so happy he did ours. Also from Stickercompa, I love my sweatshirt! . I also took old skool pics at Yer not down photos, what a cool idea! I didn't know Wahlburger was going to be there so hopefully I try it next year if they come back. I always have the best time here and wish I had time to go again.

Yelp
I went to the fair as I go every year and had a blast. I went to TLC's concert and it was amazing. I ate plenty of food and enjoyed the exhibits. Great place to hang out with family and friends. Prices are expensive for food and drinks. But you have fun.

Yelp
Going to the fair is always a good time and guaranteed to lots of good eats. This year, the fair had deep fried s'mores, hot Cheetos potstickers, hot Cheetos street corn along with the infamous turkey leg and bbq. The flamin hot Cheetos street corn was pretty tasty. I wished there was more flamin hot Cheetos. It was pretty good regardless. I like the crunch and kick to the savory and sweet cheesy corn. The dole whip float is always good and as good as the one at Disneyland. There's a pet area with a petting zoo and an agricultural area to purchase fresh herbs and seeds. Here's some tips for the fair: 1. Get your tickets at O'Reilly or Superior Grocers for $16.45 each, much cheaper than online or at the fair. 2. If you go to the fair before Memorial Day from O'Reilly or Superior Grocers, you get complimentary tickets for Memorial Day. 3. Parking at gate 17 is busier than gate 9, I could be wrong, but this has been my experience. 4. Porter potties are everywhere but if you go towards a building where there are exhibits, you'll more likely find a restroom with running water. Have a blast yelpers!

Yelp
LA County Fair is awesome. Been many many times but not in a while. First time I've been first though. I misjudged the travel time and arrived about an hour early. First person waiting to show my parking pass and first person in line for entry.. It's like you can imagine it is. Took my 17 yr old nephew. First stop was for a Pinks Hotdog strategically placed close to the entrance. Mmmmmm. Took in gardens and the animals which put us in the right area for the Pig Races! What a blast! Duck races were my favorite. So many memories. Walked and looked all the exhibits, covered every inch of that place more than once. The food is decent but fun. Many different concoctions. Fried everything, funnels cakes fried Oreos, cheese watermelon to name a few. Pretty much everything you can imagine. Pizza, Mexican, Hawaiian, Spam Musubi, it's all there. Even beer which I didn't have but I noticed it was $13. Not bad compared to sporting events and shows. Concerts at the old race track, I wish they still had that. Rides & games, low rider car exhibit. Sure it's all a little pricey but you can mitigate some of that by bringing your own food and drink. Just no glass. I love riding the ski lift or The Sky Ride across the grounds. 17,000 + steps and 5 large lemonades later from Hot Dog on a Stick and we were done. Couple tips for ya, bring sunscreen and a hat. Most mornings it's cloudy and cool but when the sun comes out, it's comes out with a vengeance. If you get there early enough you can park close and go to your vehicle and back with a hand stamp. to get those items and or take of your sweatshirt or hoodie. Change of sock and or shoes was nice. Ice chest in the car full of ice cold water is a life saver. Bring Tums if you are so inclined. Definite ate too much More importantly I bought my tix at Superior Grocery at a nice discount and parking online. Saves $ and a lot of time waiting in a line. By the time we left it was elbow to elbow. There's lots of shows and grass areas. Saw many people napping in the shade with blankets. Loved it so much I'm talking my other nephew next week. Go and have fun. I'll see you there.

Yelp
It's an annual tradition and it's always been expensive, but man does it feel more expensive now. Admission is $15 for adults. Parking is about $20. You can reserve all these online. There is a bit of a discount but there is also service fee, so you're saving about a buck or two per ticket. If you buy for a group, it probably helps. Food is about $15-20 per meal. If you're snacking maybe $5-10. The serving is so small now. Not like they taste great. They're weird and calorie dense food that we get just for funzies! They do have normal food. Inside there is pizza bar. Or outside there is mexican option. The petting zoo is always fun for kids. You can just look at the animals and it doesn't cost you. Rides always feel like a scam. Price per ticket is $4 but it cost you $5 to ride or something like that, so you always end up paying extra!

Yelp
Was pretty disappointed this year, food and the agriculture/ farm area was lacking. They used to have more variety of animals and food is overpriced and not really that good. Spent over $40 for a pulled pork sandwich and fried zucchini. Neither of the items looked like the advertised item. Sandwich was dry and lacked adequate meet and zucchini were so big they didn't get cooked all the way

Yelp
Haven't been since 2007! Luckily they had a $1 admission for residents of La Verne and Pomona and they moved it to May which enticed me to go. They have bike racks at the entrance so bike if you can! It was safe as our bikes were there at the end of the night. Tons of food options and pricey: Corn on the cob $8- could have gone without Pulled pork sandwich $16-could have gone without Bacon wrapped hotdog $16- delicious yet a bit on the salty side Tater twister $8-so glad I got it Two scoops gelato ice cream $8-really hit the spot Went to a few exhibit halls where all kinds of goods were sold or interesting competitions were had, saw the gardens, barnyard animals, missed the cow milking demo and cooking demos-better check their schedule! Rides are not free and long lines so ended up skipping it. Overall, I'm glad I went. If you haven't been in a long while, go check it out. May consider going next year to try the deep fried frog legs and attempt to win a Pickle Rick.

Yelp
First time coming here with my hubby and baby. We had fun and yes true everything is pricey but we got our tickets online. That being said parking and entry went smoothly for us. Fair opened at 5pm, we arrived around 7:30ish. Husband was worried about it being too crowded. Well, we did arrive later and took our time, walked around. Bought a Turkey Leg, hubby never seen them that big and surprised he bought one $23, he said it was worth it. He shared with me We took advantage of purchasing a savings book ($5). I managed to use three coupons from it. We were mostly there for the Carnaval games and we met the Budweiser Horses they looked so beautiful and we managed to see the Barn race, featuring piggies, ducks, goats and geese race. We may come back some other day. We had a good experience today. The only thing I have noticed now that I have an infant, we had to ask many workers to where's a nearest restroom or a place with changing tables. Many didn't know but we managed to find one on the expo buildings. One of them had a changing table only single room with running sink. Restrooms around the fair has no changing tables.

Yelp
Visited the fair in opening day when admission was only $5.00. It was definitely crowded but it was also fun visiting with family. There is soooo much to see and do but be ready to spend some serious money. Water was $7.50, huge, hot Cheetos corn dogs were $14.00 and so on. Though expensive, I still went for it as one of my daughter's had never been to the LA County so the food and high prices are to be expected and part of the experience.

Yelp
My husband and I are huge fans of fairs in general, and the LA County Fair is definitely our favorite! The fair itself is really large and has your typical fair games and food alongside different exhibits and shows. My favorite thing here is the petting zoo; it's honestly the biggest petting zoo I've been to, so if you're an animal lover, you would love this. Overall, the fair can get crowded and expensive, but as a once a year treat, I would definitely recommend it! As a tip, there are discounted tickets available at Costco sometimes.

Yelp
LA County Fair is by no means my favorite fair, so it's been quite some time since I've been. A lot has changed, but for the most part it's the same! Expensive! But what isn't anymore?!?! I do love that the fair is now hosted in the month of MAY! The he weather isn't as hot, and it doesn't smell like a sweaty armpit while you are there! $22 for parking. If you buy online it's $17. I paid $17 per ticket at O'Reilly Auto Parts vs. $25 at the gate. My husband and I did one ride together and it was $25! Ouch! Tons of rides, and food vendors. The same old song and dance in the vendor exhibits... you know your spa, bbq, massage chair vendors etc. My favorite was the Halloween exhibits! We did the maze at $6 a person and it wasn't scary and I scare easily!!! My hubby was disappointed. My husband got some new pine trees to plant and we cut the tree stump and got ourselves a new LA County Fair souvenir! The animals all had new babies! It was so cute seeing all the baby pigs, cows, goats, etc. but they've really downsized the animal area which was disappointing. I enjoyed the live music over in the animal and garden section. I also enjoyed the club and DJ playing fun music near the old horse track before Chaka Khan took the stage. They had cameras on her and you could hear her singing while watching her on a big screen without even buying tickets. I loved chilling out there for about 30 minutes before leaving the fair. Overall we had a good time. I definitely think moving it up to May has its perks. We went on a Saturday afternoon and while it was warm it cooled down quickly, and wasn't overly crowded which was nice!

Yelp
I've been attending the fair annually for about the last 30 years. Occasionally, I've skipped a year in the last several years. Went on the last Thursday at opening time. This year was OK. Glad they offered the canned food donation promotion in place of paying admission, which would have been $32 for two people. Firstly, parking is now $25. The last I knew, Disneyland was just $5 more at $30, so I guess it's more than that over there. I wish they'd finally repave the parking lot. Fair food used to taste good. Not really anymore. I tried this spicy garlic chicken rice bowl in which I got fried rice instead of white rice...$21 in total. The chicken was some frozen chicken they heated up & drizzled a bit of orange sauce on it. There was nothing spicy or garlicky about it. The fried rice was flavorless and didn't taste one bit authentic. I got a nice-size taro smoothie, but it was $10. Should have been no more than $7. My husband got the blooming onion, but it had zero seasoning...just onion with fry batter Fortunately he used the seasoning of another food vendor to put on his food (Lawry's brand from grocery store). It was suprisingly $13. He also got a cheeseburger, which was nothing special at all, but was $15. Some of these food vendors are anal and get mad if you try to simply get some napkins. Regarding the rides, I only just ride the Sky Ride sometimes. They kept the one that goes the longer distance, but the other one they had that goes in the other direction was completely taken out. I hope it's for the purpose of constructing it better, although you'd think they would have rebuilt it in time for the fair. Regarding the vendors in the buildings, there are less and less each time, it seems. One building had nothing, but arcade games. Who wants that? There was a skating ring in the other half, but no one was skating when I passed through the building. I bought a couple of things from one of the other buildings though. I did see an artisan who creates his own art that I've never seen there before. Perhaps he's new. Most vendors don't seem to care if you take photos of their goods, but one we ran across was pretty irked. She shouldn't be in this day and age of Instagram, youtubers creating videos, etc. I didn't go to any of the buildings with exhibits or where the farm animals were. We stayed 3 hours. I'll still return because it's still fun to spend a half a day and a nice change of scenery lasting two weeks out of the year.

Yelp
The LA county fair is a nice little carnival. This was my first year going and it was cool. I went on a Thursday to the traffic was pretty light. Definitely a lot to see, I wish they had more art exhibits! I loved the great outdoors area located in the corner of the grounds. The thing to keep in mind is there is a lot of repeat food vendors, almost wish they had a lot more options like other carnivals, but nevertheless still fun! Prices are what you would expect! Only service animals allowed, no ESA animals.

Yelp
If you go for the rides and artery-clogging food, you'll have a good time at the fair. Parking is $25 (ouch), the food is overpriced ($10 for a Pink's hot dog), and we couldn't find any half-way healthy food options. The exhibit halls are filled with mattress and messaging chair displays. The wine-tasting counter is gone. The Fair staff members are friendly and helpful. It used to be so much better.

Yelp
It was so fun! So much to see and do! We played games, drank delicious horchata, went on the infamous ferries wheel, saw sick cars, and tried new snacks while listening to some smooth Chicano funk. It was my first time visiting the LA County Fair, and I loved it a lot!

Yelp
It's time I update my review from 2018 because things have changed with The LA County Fair. I'll start with the positives: I appreciate that there are ways to save on admission listed throughout their website. That is a big reason I'm giving them 4 stars because The OC Fair has eliminated all of their promotions to save money since the pandemic (such as $7 admission before 1:00pm and free offsite parking). At least the LA County Fair gets that times are tough and we need relief. That's worth an extra star all on its own. I appreciate that the water fountains are turned back on because that was a bunch of foolish nonsense having them turned off 2 years in a row. I really appreciate seeing more animals in the barns this year. The 4-H livestock competitions are finally back. That's a step in the right direction. Another reason for the additional star. A lot of people are complaining that the LA County Fair is expensive. I can understand that. Food is on average $10-$20+ just for one item. At least the fair does have $7.70 food specials that The OC Fair doesn't have. There is a download available on this year's fair website to see which vendors are participating and which food items are $7.70. With that said, I would still rather go to The LA County Fair than a lot of the competing activities in May such as music festivals and The Renaissance Faire. The Fair is the most affordable option for entertainment in the LA area. You can be entertained for hours. Still cheaper than Disney! Now for the reason I deducted a star since my 2018 review. I'm disappointed that they have done away with the themes. I enjoyed seeing past themes such as Route 66 being incorporated into the exhibits and decor around the fair. There haven't been any theme exhibits or themed activities incorporated into the fair since 2019. I also don't think it's right for some of the buildings to be closed to vendors and exhibits. Two buildings are closed this year resulting in much less to see. The Flower Pavilion is still partially closed to the public. There is no effort being made to bring back the beautiful plants and flowers. There are just photo ops instead. The photo ops aren't as fun as the flowers and plants. There is a lack of effort since the pandemic to dazzle fairgoers with themes, exhibits, and hands-on discovery activities in the buildings. There is less to see and do since the fair reopened in 2022. I was hoping it would change, but it is still just as stripped down in 2024. Just to give an example, the 2017 Fair had The Bug Tasting Bar, The Igloo Exhibit, The Taylor Swift Experience, and the Jurassic Planet Dinosaur exhibit. This year's fair only had vendors, children's art, animals, photography, and table settings. Past fairs had so much more in addition to keep everyone busy. The main focus for the past few years has been on the carnival rides and food, which doesn't have the true essence of a fair to me. I wish the organizers cared more about keeping people coming back rather than simply keeping the fair going. I've been missing the fun energy of pre-pandemic fairs. It just feels so empty and quiet now because there isn't as much to see and do. I hope the organizers will start to bring it back to what it once was. I'd love for the horse racing to come back.

Yelp
The gardens display was so so disappointing. They shut down 3/4 of the Pavillion and the ambiance lacked. They had these colorful displays where it is now closed to the public along with people who taught ypu tips on gardening. The craft pavilion was a no show. Also shut down. Never found the table displays or quilts and others. I asked one of the ven f or what happened and he said they never opened that part of fair directly attached to horse races. Fair was disappointing and after ypu paid an arm and a leg for shish ka bobs, they were overcooked, tasteless and dry. What happened to you guys? Shut it down if you are going to be showcasing this event like this!

Yelp
The organizers of this fair should all be replaced. It is no longer affordable for the average family. Also, the grounds are a mess with uneven asphalt, etc. the prices are outrageous. How does anyone justify charging $5.43 for a one dollar bottle of water? There was very poor animal display some even empty and the other buildings were completely lacking. The biggest disappointment for me was the garden center. The fresh flowers were not done in great arrangements and there was no other plant life. Very disappointing and a complete waste of money.

Yelp
This was the most disappointed I have ever been when going to the LAC Fair! We attended the first time this year (2025) since Covid (many times before), so we expected a few changes, but this was WAAAAY too expensive, for WAAAAY less to see and do! Can you imagine $26 to park your car? (The lot was half empty, compared to past years when we could barely find our car in the lot). They also would not allow us to pay with cash (and I hate to hand strangers my credit cards). What about people who don't even have credit cards? They can't go? And I am waiting for someone to sue venues like this for that "no cash" policy. Just read any denomination currency "For payment of all debts, public and private" I'd love to hear the Supreme Court's views on this. Talk about inconvenience to the consumer! And think about it... if they charged less, they'd fill the lot again, and they would get more revenue inside. The price to enter is outrageous now, but 2 complete buildings were closed down, and one was just for roller skating! I know this sounds odd, but the most fun we had was on the hill at the ranger station, cutting a log! We also enjoyed the low rider cars (the Bentley was the best), but now to get into the car museum, $5 extra! (used to be a dollar). Once paying for overpriced tickets, patrons should be able to see everything the park has to offer, without paying even a dollar extra! Heaven knows, we also have to pay enough for average food and drink, and wait in lines for that! We went on Saturday before Memorial Day, and observed that the numbers were way down from previous years. If you aren't into the carnival rides, I would say it's a waste of time. We'll try Orange County from now on...

Yelp
Concerts were moved to the field from grand stand. Prices were not reduced. Sitting was Fold out chairs tied zip ties. I was stuck between two big people and Couldn't move. Also there was no re entry and they only sold can alcohol at high prices.
