La Courtille de Solutré

"A pretty country house, its charming terrace in the shade of an old chestnut tree... and a dynamic Basque chef, who puts passion and good - quality ingredients into his cooking, nicely accompanied by a fine selection of Pouilly - Fuissé wines! There is a handful of guestrooms." - Michelin Inspector

The points go to the meal and the atmosphere but not the service. We went for lunch and sat there for a whole 2 hours spending most of our time waiting and feeling invisible. I understand that you can have a busy service but that doesn’t mean that you need to make people feel the way we did. It took 15-20min before we could even get drinks.

A hidden gem indeed ! We visited the Roche Solutrée and had lunch in this restaurant in a weekday without reservation. The portion was copious and the quality was more than its worth. The dishes are very delicious and diversities even with some Asian ingredients (the chef is a French). Excellent experience. Highly recommended !

We came for a delicious dinner, fantastic menu and local wine list. Lovely setting and atmosphere. Staff were attentive and the food was satisfyingly special - fois gras, monkfish, cheese and floating island for dessert

We love this hotel, because it is small, charming and just what France should be - but isn't always these days. It is in the centre of a pretty village, in a prime wine area, perfect for visiting vineyards. The food was wonderful and you could get well-priced carafes of really good quality local wine. The service was excellent, even though the restaurant was crammed the night we were staying..The price of the meal was more than fair for what you got, including the most fabulous home-made foie gras. If only there were more places like this to stay!

This place just keeps getting better every time we go. The staff are friendly, the food is excellent and the wine list extensive and well priced. We'll keep coming back again and again no doubt.

Excellent lunch - wide choice of imaginative dishes with quality ingredients. Good range of white burgundies. Meal was much cheaper than the quality would suggest. (Rating is for the restaurant only - we didn't stay at the hotel overnight)

We have been several times to La Courtille but last year wer a little put off by our experience. The waitress was less than friendly but we returned last night with a friend for one more try as it is close to our house in the area. What a lovely surprise to find the place buzzing with young, very friendly and helpful staff - it was back to its good old self. Fantastic food, service and wine menu.

you do not have to walk up to "la roche de Solutré" to enjoy the best of it.||simple but very cosy room, spotless and well equiped. the nicest part of this hotel is||to patronize it restaurant. we had a very nice diner, the value for money is outstanding.||a "paté en croute" home made as you will find only in Bourgogne.||the "Turbot" was perfectly coocked and nicely flavored,I ended up with a traditional "irich coffee", wishing just to start again!||the breakfast is quite good and the service very friendly.||Obviously succesfull, some evening, the conversation might be a little bit loud if you want to sleep early...this is the place to complete yourwine education with||Poully Fuisse, Saint Veran and other"tresor de Chardonnay".
