"The Parisian-style bistro serves a bevy of croissants, from whole wheat to Nutella-stuffed. The charming corner terrace makes it all the more authentic." - Heather Vandenengel, JP Karwacki

Had an epic Ham, Swiss, and egg crepe and a small quarter caf latte with 4 sugars. Excellent.

In general, nice experience in which you feel you are in Paris.I tried the chicken sandwich which was good especially the salad. And chocolate and almond croissant was good too. The bowl of hot chocolate was nice it wasn’t sweet. The design was full of antiques, if you are interested in old stuff you can enjoy that

Loved this beautiful place, unique decor, great terrace 😲 ordered grilled baguette with butter and strawberry jam, a cappuccino. Great service 🤠😁 have to go back😍

Beautiful café with a marvelous indoor setting. Lots of places outside, too! The Nutella croissant is just so delicious! Recommended.

I had a coffee and tarte aux pommes at this gorgeous café on a lovely, quiet street and felt transported to Paris. The service was so friendly too. I highly recommend this destination if you visit Mile End.

We had breakfast and everything was delicious. We tried the original croissant 🥐 and was simple but delicious. The service was great. There is a lot of parking around on the street and also spots to sitting outside.

This is a great little spot in Outremont! We are visiting from deep in the US, and wanted a piece of quiche quite late on a Wednesday evening. All the reviews of La Croissanterie are pretty much spot on- the quiche was amazing, even at 10pm! The salad was fresh and beautiful, and the house dressing 🤌 -chef's kiss. Moreover, the server was clearly hoping for an early night, but was friendly and helpful nonetheless. When we left, the place was empty, but our bellies and hearts were full. Can't recommend La Croissanterie enough! 💯 worth the drive up from Centre-Ville.

We wanted to eat a croissant so we went to came here and we got a croissant. Or two. And they were magnificent. It's all in the butter and they get it right. Buttery, flaky heaven in a roll. We also loved the europeen vibe, the old chairs, cash register, ornamental coffee machine and the over vintage decor. And the fact that they serve alcohol and are open from 8am until 11pm makes it a rare type of establishment. Where they lose points for us however, unfortunately has nothing to do with their croissants. A detail but enough for us to remember it. If you're going to charge 4.25$ for a cup of tea don't serve "four o'clock" brand tea in a bag. Either do it properly or don't sell tea at all.

Yelp
We parked a street away, watch the signs! We were fine but check times, dates, etc The restaurant is old but reminded me of many in Europe of heck, New England, they don't update anything but that is part of the charm, no? Or... to some NO! My sister would hate it, my mom on the fence, she loved the music but thought a few repairs would be nice and just a tad (a tad, really better fruit, I understand summer is ver, so harder to get summer fruits but hard melon is awful). The service was good, our waitress polite and I'm not sure why people complained about the timing, we got our drinks right away and food within 15 minutes and all hot!!! Again, it is not a hip and happening place but you aren't paying $7 for coffee or $25 for eggs. There is no do in the back and no need to dress up. If you want Instagram photos, take a look around and above the bar! The eclectic decorative pieces there are worthy of a photo but my mother doesn't "believe" in photographing food, places or your drink! Do go if you just want to try an old school place, we enjoyed our meal and time there. Thank you.

Yelp
Looooove it! Such a great ambience. Great coffee. Friendly staff. Very nice French feel.

Yelp
We came across this place when driving by and thank god we did. Super cute spot, very reminiscent of the little cafes in Paris . Decor is super nice and a great ambiance overall. Food is good, not amazing but definitely good enough. The only reason I give this a 4 and not a 5 is because it takes reallly long for your food to get to your table and also my bf (who is from Paris) ordered the croque Monsieur which he was super excited about but in the end didn't enjoy as much. It is supposed to be served in a regular square bread but instead was served on baguette , and he wasn't too pleased with that (changed the taste overall) Double chocolate croissant $5.95 (5/5) Chicken pesto sandwich with salad $13.95 (4.5/5) Croque Monsieur sandwich with salad $14.95 (1/5) Chicken pesto flammekeuche $10.95 (5/5) Chocolate mousse $7.95 (4/5)

Yelp
The restaurant and the terrace are beautiful. A wonderful place to sit out and enjoy the moment by savoring some delicious bruschetta with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Service would be in low side grading. It was confusing if I should take a sit or I would be assigned to seat and do I order the food in the counter or do I get to order at the table. A waitress saw me, but she kind of ignored me initially. I had to walk to her and ask how this restaurant function ms. Finally, I was seated at terrace. My waitress (different one) came, my food came, which was excellent but I didn't get any utensils and napkins. I requested twice; between the first and second time the waitress forgot about it. Beside the beautiful restaurant and the food, the service was questionable.

Yelp
I've gotten a few pastries from this place before but I've never been to brunch. I was really satisfied with it. The pastries are ok, nothing amazing and their choices are pretty standard. The decor does make you feel like you're at a Parisian cafe and since I have no frame of reference to a real Parisian cafe, I'd say they did an ok job.The seating isn't comfortable everywhere. I think the best seats are the booths but those fill up quick for brunch. Ordered the croque monsieur and Adam ordered the burger with bacon and cheese. I thought the croque monsieur was lovely except the sauce had a hint of pepper which I don't like, but Adam loves. Adam's burger was really good. Great patty, cheese. and bacon. We ended up liking each other's meals more actually. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake and it had a great chocolate taste but the consistency was a bit too milky. It's a really nice place to have brunch. Same prices as most other places but a bit more quality.

Yelp
A really great drink menu and beautiful food options. The layout and seating available, both inside and out- is gorgeous. Friendly service and great prices. Highly recommend. :)

Yelp
We ordered take out for this place based off of images they have on the internet of their food. Ordered the flamqueuche with bacon and onions and sour cream. Looked good on their photos. What I received was a complete embarrassment. I work down the street and everyone was laughing at it. When I called to tell them and replace it with something else, which he said sure to a Croque Monsieur. When my order was picked up by a co worker ( I am at work and it's pouring rain) 10 min later he was told he made me a ham and cheese instead! I told him I didn't want that in our conversation prior! This place is a waste of money and a disgrace to customer service. I want my money back!! Here are both photos of what they served me for 10 dollars! What a joke!

Yelp
This is my hometown go-to place. I used to go at least once a week for 4 years, then I moved, but I still tell anyone visiting Montreal they have to come here. The croissant is ligHt, yet buttery, the coffee is perfecto and the Niçoise salad is divine!

Minh-Tam H.

Yelp
I got the regular croissants, croissants w/ chocolate & almond cream filling, and Trottoir aux pommes (Apple pastry). The croissants were warm, buttery, sweet, flaky, and crispy... so yummy!! And it goes very well with warm cup of coffee or tea :)

Yelp
Figaro, how charming you are! A beautiful blend of art nouveau and deco interior design elements, you try to seem French, and you're quite good at it! You're open late and you're consistent; que demander de plus? Croissanterie Figaro is a nice restaurant and café at the edge of Mile-End and Outermont neighborhoods. Featuring a nice terrace during the summer, I always have a preference for the old-style interior decor. Table service is efficient and courteous. The food is also good, affordable and consistent in quality. They have many vegetarian options and their croissants are very tasty. The coffee is okay; although it is not my favorite I'm the city, it's not bad either. Very acceptable. What I like most about Croissanterie Figaro is that it feels like I'm stepping into France every time I go there, if only for a moment. Minus the plane ticket and the bill that comes with it. I recommend without hesitation!

Yelp
I went to this place only once but I left extremely upset by the service given by an older gentleman which seemed to be the manager or owner. My criticism is purely related to customer service approach, since I haven't tasted their food. I was sitting in the terrace. The chair I was sitting on, had a piece of metal detached, right where my buttock was, but I had not noticed. When I got up for a moment, my favourite summer pants happened to get caught by that piece of metal and ended up with a hole. I called the gentleman, explained what happened and suggested him to take the chair away, he said sorry once and took the chair with him. Since there wasn't much reaction, I thought he was busy and would come back eventually. When we requested the bill to the waitress, she brought us the bill and left. We had ordered only 2 coffees and 1 tea, it was not even 15$. I was sad after having my pants ripped, but after receiving the bill I became furious, since I just got a hole on my pants because of their broken chair and they didn't give an appropriate apology. I called the waitress again, and explained what happened, she was kind and apologized for what had happened, and let the drinks go for free. The other gentleman had not even mentioned the pants situation to her. Although the waitress was nice, I still had a bitter feeling in my mouth because their chair had ruined my favourite pants and in the end, they only let the drinks go for free because we requested. There was not a real attempt to make up for what happened and they couldn't care less for the hole in my pants.

Yelp
Posting on behalf on my wife: My wife and a friend asked for Oeufs à la coque but they don't do that (how can they not boil water with an egg in it).She then asked for hard boiled eggs but they were cold (overcooked with black around the yoke), cooked from the day before. Other friend had scrambled eggs were in a small bowl, overcooked like they were reheated in a microwave. No fruits, no toasts. 6 bare eggs, one croissant, one tea, one cappuccino: 39$ and a lousy service. I used to love this place but it has gone south.

Yelp
Very nice seating and very friendly staff. The portions were decent and very good. The caspachio was delicious and the main meals were very nice also. The bread was freshly baked. All in all a great place to eat, and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Opened , both inside and outside . Good as always . Perhaps not the best if you are very very Covid freaked .

Yelp
The best part of Figaro has got to be its lovely terrace on a late summers afternoon. This is honestly the main reason to come here. Everything else is quite average, but that terrace tho! This place tries to pass off as legit French fare, with croissants, pastries and quiches, but when you've had the real deal, these don't even come close. Especially in Montreal, where there are so many amazing French pastry shops (shout-out to Kouing Aman & Brioche a Tête), Figaro just doesn't make the cut. Figaro is also open quite late, so if you're craving a late night piece of chocolate cake (this regularly happens to me), then Figaro is a good bet. But yeah, the terrace is perfect and totally worth it.

Fouad B.

Yelp
Loved the decoration, it reminds me of france. A cute terrasse with flowers all around. Their food was okay, same as the service. We had as a starter a flame kueche (french slim pizza), then a burger, and a salade. Finally a profiterole.

Yelp
An absolute Montréal gem. I stumbled upon this walking around with a friend in the area and boy was it worth it. Don't be fooled by the name - it is not just croissants, but boy are the croissants amazing. I don't think I've had better crossants outside of Montréal than this (maybe in Montréal i have...). But I digress: it is not only the croissants, it is everything else. They are extremely creative with using different kinds of pastries to make delicious sandwiches and brunch dishes. This is basically a great brunch spot, or a spot to have a relaxing coffee with friends over a tasty pastry. The locale itself is beautiful. It is an old bank and it stell has that (1920s?) bank teller desk where you can see the chef cooking behind it. Overall, very beautiful inside with a great patio ona quiet street yet just a few steps away from Parc Ave. They also have surprisingly excellent coffee. One of my favourites is the latte bowl... You know, for those extra hungover brunch dates.

Yelp
Merci bien, dear Yelp app, for yet again leading me to an absolutely lovely place for breakfast. La Croissanterie Figaro was one of the few locations open early the Sunday morning of my departure from Montréal. With a few hours to spare before heading the airport, and having been locked inside for days at a conference, I was finally able to indulge my hobby of photography and took a nice long walk from downtown to Outremont, cataloging urban art and street life in pictures along the way. There were only a few other customers when I visited, and I took a nice little seat in the back near the window. At only eight or so on a Sunday morning, Outremont had barely begun to stir, but otherwise this place would be perfect for people watching. I did see several people out with their dogs, as well as some runners, and some running groups together, out in the drizzle of the gray late-November morning. It was rather wonderful, really. The coffee here is spectacular, as is the orange juice. YUM. I had the Tofu californien sandwich (see picture) for breakfast and, while it was quite delicious, I was not a huge fan of the bread. The salad it comes with can be substituted for assorted fruits during breakfast hours (although I stuck with the salad). I sincerely regret that I did not have a croissant here. But I gain weight at the drop of a pin, so I really have to be careful about things like that. I do feel that service was rather aloof and, although, I know better than to compare this type of bistro to its counterpart in the US, where the servers are likely to be at your elbow almost constantly, I was not able to get a refill of my water even once. But, apart from that, it's quite nice to be left alone to my thoughts as I enjoy a tasty meal. This is a delightful little spot, and I would visit again for sure.

Brian F.

Yelp
Our Canadian Cousin brought us here for lunch. Street parking is pretty much your best option, but it was relatively easy for Sunday Brunch. A very tight space on the patios. They pack the tables in! Maybe Canadian personal space is closer than US personal space, but we were really close to each other. Our waitress was extremely patient with us and guided us along the menu. I had a tofu sandwich which was quite pleasing with a salad. Now mind you it wasn't stellar, but put me on a lovely street in Montreal in the summer with some decent food and I will give it four stars any day. I felt like I was in Paris. Great job!

Yelp
This place used to be one of my favourite. But let me explain why it gets two starts. + Great ambiance, Parisian interior. From here on, all goes down the hill. - Horrible coffee. Even 3-star diners have better coffee than here. - We ordered two almond croissants and one regular croissant. Almond croissants were two fingers wide! (It looked more like a rolled crepe than a croissant) Seriously, if anybody reading this review would try baking croissants they will probably obtain a better shape than them. - The almond pate was not tasty at all. When you order an almond croissant you expect to taste it when you bite it. But it was more like a hide-and-seek with the pate. You can say, "oh, c'mon. It's just a croissant." Well, the place is called Croissanterie! They are so behind the game. I suggest them to try Regal Matinal, Hof Kelsten or Myriade - 2's croissants to learn how it should be.

Yelp
Breakfast is my favourite meal. I should eat it more on a regular basis. If I lived next to La Croissanterie Figaro, it would be a daily habit. On a weekend trip to Montreal, we were on the search for some good pastries and my friend did a fantastic job scoping this place out. A beautiful sunny Sunday morning meant brunch on the cafe patio, which sits on the corner of a quiet Montreal residential neighbouehood. Being here makes you feel like you're in Europe. Quiet and laid back. I ordered the brunch: freshly sqeezed orange juice, tea, fresh fruit, croissant and crepes with eggs, ham, maple syrup. The freshly baked croissant was buttery, crispy, flaky, filled with warm herbed ricotta cheese....MELTS in your mouth. The crepe is done the way it should be, cooked through, a little crispy not doughy at all...rolled inside is ham and egg. A little dip of maple syrup makes everything that much tastier. All this for $10. So delicious. Beyond comfort and would completely make me a morning person if I lived next door.

Genevieve H.

Yelp
Sometimes you want to be a braggadocio and take yourself out for a three course lunch of salad, flakey white fish in balsamic reduction and creme brûlée. This is the place. The cafe has brass and marble finishing and french classics playing in the background. I loved it but always felt hugely indulgent here. Or did I feel hugely sophisticated? I forget.... What a divine cafe.

Helene C.

Yelp
Le Figaro is a copy of the famous Parisian café in Paris locatediin the heart of Outremont. It's great if you live by since parking is scarce there. Loved the art deco, very well represented. Has a beautiful terasse to sit & sip a cappuccino or a good coffee. Since it's a croissanterie, we ordered a variety of croissants to taste. Unfortunately they ran out of chocolatine which is unusual in my book when you're at a croissant place especially when it's only 10 am. The other croissants were crispy, buttery & delicious. However, the service was slow & mediocre when you consider what you're paying. Too bad since the location & the café itself is really nice.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
What a gem! This lively corner cafe and croissant house in Outremont was my first pit stop for breakfast, after spending a long night on a bus traveling from Toronto to Montreal. I had met up with a friend, who was also visiting the city and staying nearby, had made breakfast in this beautiful place part of her morning ritual. Seeing the lovely terrace wrapping around the building, the Parisian decor, the red and yellow flowers surrounding the terrace, I easily understood why she loved this place so much. It has a very relaxed atmosphere: no one rushing you to eat quickly and pay up right away. Here, I felt we could take our time enjoying our coffees while basking in the sun and lazily watching the world pass us by. I also believe that since we were visiting during the week, we were able to get a spot on the terrace; I can imagine this place being slammed on weekends. For my first meal of the day, I opted for the Bonjour Croissant, which is basically an open-faced breakfast sandwich, with eggs, tomatoes and cheese on top of a butter croissant. The order comes with fresh fruit, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was delicious, leaving a permanent smile on my face as it was nice way to start to my day. As for the servers not being able to speak English well, all of the servers were able to communicate with ease, judging from my friend's experience who only spoke English to them. As for my experience, I'm able to speak French so I happily practiced my native tongue with them. I have to share with the same sentiment as Yelper Stas Z mentioned previously. If someone is working on the technology to transport one's self from one place to another, please do it soon. A morning without enjoying a coffee at La Croissanterie may not be worth living.

Yu S.

Yelp
We tried Olive first but it's closed for holiday! A long way from old port, but really worth it! We tried four different croissants, all fabulous! My favourite is cream almond one! The decor is amazing and our waitress was glad to speaking English( I had to say that I studied the menu for quite a long while, lol)

Kristina G.

Yelp
Environment has a rustic look and very classy. I would say it has a French touch to it. Chocolate cacao was warm not hot. Chocolatine was nothing special. Cheese cake was delicious and savoured it's creamy texture. Service was disappointing so an overall fail for my experience.

Michael W.

Yelp
After getting lost walking around Mont Royal (we were trying to find how to get to Outremont from the Chalet) it was with GREAT elation that we got to la croissanterie figaro. It was recommended to us by multiple people, and we just couldn't pass up a good croissant! Got there and sat outside and kindly waited for our menus and orders and such. I believe that there were two croque monsieurs ordered, one "brunch" that came with coffee and lots of brunch items ($10 CAD!!) and I got a soup and a club figaro sandwich (which was a sandwich that had multiple different sliced meats and peppers and tomatoes). In the end, the food was very good.. not knock out of the park but they were extremely satisfying for a group of hungry tourists at 3pm who hadn't eaten lunch (the salad that came with was great! carrot and beet strings and it was very well seasoned/dressed). But the cozy neighborhood atmosphere, eclectically-antique looking interior and a bevy of of bees accosting our brightly colored and aesthetically pleasing food, it made for a great experience and a relaxing (once we moved inside) lunch. Oh, we never ended up getting croissants 4.5 stars for good food and a cozy atmosphere Revisit? Yes please!

Gabrielle L.

Yelp
I went there with a friend. Bad service, she made a mistake on my bill (twice) and our water glasses were always empty. I give the 3 stars for the food itself. We had the croque-madame (with turkey) and the Quiche. The salad that went with it was delicious, with julienne-cut vegetables. The americanos were amazing, not too strong either. I would go back there to try the brunch or breakfast. In sum, this french-like bistro really portrays the ''service'' and food you would have only in the old continent.

Bérénice L.

Yelp
Ambiance and overall experience is always 100% when i go: Romantic atmosphere, menu items, and I never feel rushed! Reminds me of France

Olena B.

Yelp
Great spot for Breakfast/Brunch. The menu is in French only, but staff is very friendly and open to help with translation. Tasty food. Very nice terrace outside. Recommend.

Nancy H.

Yelp
I used to come to this restaurant a LOT when I attended Marianopolis College and McGill U, from 1978-1983. This was my go-to place for croissants and coffee back in the day, when it was called "La Croissanterie" (no "Figro" in the name). I was SO relieved to see that the place was still here, on the same corner, with the same kind of Parisienne vibe, and the same cute outdoor terasse. The interior has changed somewhat (I remember it being larger, and more open, but hey, we're going back over 30 years). The food is as wonderful as I remember! Brought my kids here today and we sat outside. The kids had croissants - one regular, one chocolate. They were both in heaven. One kid had a pot of tea and the other, hot chocolate. Again, both were very happy with their beverages. I ordered quiche Lorraine and man, it was good. Can't really get legit quiche in Seattle, and it was a real treat for me. My kids tried it and loved it. And I had my old Montreal standby: cafe au lait, in a bowl. Man, it's good to be back home! Don't want to leave.... (It's really good to have some things the same, as I remember them, as so much in the city has changed, and not all for the better....). Our waitress we had was lovely, and she was happy to speak in English to us. Note: the bathroom in the rear of the restaurant is beyond tiny. Cute, but if you need any room, for any reason, forget about it.

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Really great atmosphere and friendly staff. We were on a quest for the best chocolatine in Montreal and this was our first stop! This was tasty and served warm! However, it was a little smaller than others and nothing really stood out about it. It tied for 3rd in our final tally. (As a sidenote, if you don't speak French and what is brought to you doesn't look like what you expected, ask! Don't eat it assuming you are incorrect, as we did.)

Nick J.

Yelp
Great place. I had a cafe au lait in a bowl, which was very good. I also had a very good burger. The toppings included were all fresh and excellent, and the fries were tasty. If you look are around you will notice that it is clean, which makes me happy. But the best thing about htis place is that you feel like you are in Paris.

Gary H.

Yelp
A lovely little place to sit down and share time with friends. Cute tables and chairs make the place feel comfortably full but not overcrowded. Order some warm croissants on your way out the door to take with you!

Earth W.

Yelp
Local Flavor. Fabulous Croissants Best chocolate croissants! Excellent quiche and carrot cake. Menu is in French only. Highly recommend. Real local color.

Adam S.

Yelp
We were frankly shocked by what a poor experience we had at this cafe. Where do I begin? When we came in, we sat at the table and were immediately sweating. It's October - beautiful out - but inside was like an oven. It was about 2 pm on a Saturday and it was our first meal of the day so we were all starving. For starters, we ordered a cheese plate and a French fries. It took over 20 minutes for these items to come. When they did, half the bread was ice cold, half was boiling hot. The fries were small; so we asked to put in another order but the waitress told us there were "no more French fries." Maybe it was for the best because the fries were soggy and unremarkable. When ordering mains, my friend wanted to add a fried egg to her croque monsieur, they told us they couldn't do fried - only scrambled or hard boiled. It then took another HOUR for our very simple lunches to come. My friend and I ordered the burger - medium rare. It arrived burned to a crisp. And the bread was also burned. The drinks were watery and not made correctly. And the waitress had a huge chip on her shoulder, delivering everything to the table with a scowl. On top of all this, when we asked for the check it took another 20 minutes. By the way, it was now close to 4 pm and there was barely anyone else in the restaurant. And, with tip, this meal came close to $40 per person. Terrible food, mediocre service, AND expensive. Would not come back.

Cristina P.

Yelp
I was lucky to be taken here during a visit to Montreal. It's a quaint little bistro in Outremont, with a beautiful outdoor seating area. I hear the Croissants are to die for (hence the name), but I came here for dinner and had the Croque Monsieur and it was delicious! I also ordered a house salad, and only wish the server had told me that the croque comes WITH a salad so I didn't have to order the starter! For dessert, I had the Profiteroles....note: it's a big a$$ cream puff with ice cream and it's delicious!

Vanessa V.

Yelp
i'm sad to give this place a low rating because i'm sure the staff are trying their best. this is one of the worst coffees we've tried in Montreal. the espresso tastes like dilluted coffee. the 2 shots latte tasted like hot milk with some coffee smell. pastries were supermaket style (hard and a bit cold). they have such a beautiful terrace, but the quality is just not there. very slow service also (not staff's fault)

Risa D.

Yelp
Delicious on a summer evening or late fall sitting on the quiet side street patio with coffee, wine, crisp fresh homemade croissants... Or tucked into a window booth on a snowy noon eating croque monsieur with lovely melty cheese and gorgeous flakey croissant and fresh side salad... You can't deny the overall good buttery feeling at Croissanterie Figaro. Soft light, perfect corner across from the Ukrainian Federation, lovely cozy decor, inexpensive: a perfect moment for what it is.

Lisa Q.

Yelp
A beautifully memorable interior atmosphere awaits at La Croissanterie Figaro, as I discovered this past weekend when we trouped over for brunch. The immediate vision upon entry is one of splendid light and airiness; sunlight streaming in through the many windows of the lustrous dining salon refracted off the mirrored walls and set all the polished brass agleam. Settling back into the far corner following the leggy fille of a hostess, we were awash in a sweet symphony of French and the tinkling of cutlery tines...I was already in love and hadn't even eaten a nibble. As suspected though, the food turned out to be on par with the quality of the ambiance. I thoroughly enjoyed my great coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice spangled with pulp (just the way I like it), and the excellent brunch options, of which I chose Le Special Bonjour, which was perfectly delicious and priced appropriately. I also couldn't help getting croissants to go, and I will simply echo others' praise here- flaky, buttery, authentic scrumptiousness. The gorgeous, inviting atmosphere and savours of Figaro will linger with me until I have the opportunity to go back!

Yelp
La Croissanterie "Un petit coin perdu de Paris" (Little corner of Paris) The cafe is located on the corner of Hutchinson and Fairmount. I adore this 1920's cafe. If there's a place that I'll bring my chums. This will be the place. During the summer time, you can eat outside the terrace. And be surrounded by beautiful flowers. Besides croissants, they have salads, sandwiches, cheeses, patisseries, juices, great coffee and lots more. They even cater to vegetarians. Everything is delicious! Tres bonne. Ooohh la la... love their Cafe au lait. If you can't be in Paris, come to La Croissanterie. Relaxing ambiance and friendly people. I can just come here everyday and enjoy Edith Piaf music.

Yelp
I expect folks visiting me shortly from the US. Guides recommend Outremont bistros for their atmosphere, quality of food, choice of coffee attentive service. Decided to visit the Croissanteriefigaro, a well known French bistro on Hutchison St Outremont, on Sunday June 17 pm. I sat down on the outdoor terrace(nice) and ordered a cappuccino. It took over 16min to arrive! Why? Tables around me were only partially occupied. There were no guests sitting inside the bistro.Taste of the coffee: dismal! Watery, lacking aroma, flavor. Took a few sips from it and left the still full cup on the table. Got up paid($5)to the waitress and went away. cafe quality: unsavory service: indifferent (note: felt discouraged to order any food) ----- Conclusion: Given the above issues this bistro, except for its terrace, fails to earn the credits the guides assign to the place. p.s. went over to another nearby bistro; toi-moi et café(Laurier St.) Had a delicious cappuccino on their terrace(nearly full). Was served in 6min. G.S.

Yelp
The atmosphere alone is worth the 5 star rating, add to it one of the most addictive chicken and avocado sandwiches served on the freshest baguette and you have perfection. La Croissanterie Figaro is one of those places that has created a perfect atmosphere all year round, the summer offers the most relaxed beautiful Terrasse which is always packed and in the winter the nice tight atmosphere inside makes you feel all comfy while enjoying a huge bowl of cafe au lait perfection. They also have a quiche that is fantastic and I'm sure everything else is really good too, I just can't seem to pull myself away from my two favorite meals. La Croissanterie Figaro is a must try and a place that won't disappoint

Yelp
Figaro burger was delicious. Beef patty was tender and juicy and the bun they served it on was the best part. It looks like a regular burger bun but it tasted like a butter croissant -so soft and perfectly toasted. Boyfriend had the quiche with spinach and feta which was good. Outdoor seating is nice. There is plenty of shade. The flowers they have adorning the perimeters are so pretty. Service was good. Sangria was weak though, wouldn't order that again.

Yelp
Read this review while keeping in mind that I am biased by the fact that every time I go here it's a cold and very snowy night. Perhaps this makes the pastries flakier and more satisfying or the hot chocolate more comforting. I have had other pastries and hot chocolate under similar circumstances and none has met the high standard set by Figaro. I sought to find the best croissant in Montreal and went forth with my list of suggestions from a multitude of sources. Unfortunately I went looking on New Year's Day so many of the places on my list were closed. Dejected, frustrated and sans croissant fix we stopped in Caffe in Gamba where we chatted with someone who told us about Figaro. It wasn't far which was lucky since we had worn ourselves out in our search so far. On my second trip I tried again to find a better croissant but discovered that none was to be found and La Croissanterie Figaro continues to reign supreme. Just for the record, my idea of the perfect croissant is one that is very buttery with crispy distinct layers with a softer inside but not too cakey or rubbery. There should be dark golden flakes on your plate after eating it. Their hot chocolate was also divine. We liked that it isn't sweetened so you can add as much as you want or none at all. It was delicious without any sugar added.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Must try the chocolate croissant! Perfect patio hotspot in a very quaint neighbourhood! Had their Super Bonjour (open faced croissant sandwich with ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, spinach and tomato slice) and their Brunch (ham, cheese and scram eggs in crepe served with a croissant quiche?) - both comes with fresh squeezed/pressed orange juice and either cafe au lait or coffee and for less than $10!

Yelp
Finally made it to Figaro after running past it for over a year! I have to say, I was not disappointed by my experience here. We had the vegetable pizza, which had a phyllo crust, and it was delicious! We should not have shared the dish. The wait for food was a little lengthy and I was disappointed that their tea was "Twining's Tea" but all in all it was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
A great bristro at the edge of Outremont. The sandwich I had (charcutterie italienne et fromage) was excellent. The service was friendly and well informed. They were also most accomodating: I spilled the last few drops of my drink and ended up with a smile and a whole new drink. The setting is also worth mentioning. There is a delightful sidewalk terrace and a mercifully air conditioned interiour. The latter has wonderful art deco touches.

Yelp
I have dreamt of my return to Figaro ever since I tried their magical whole wheat croissant a few years ago... I finally had a chance to brunch there today, but the results were somewhat mixed. The (-)s -They seem understaffed - we waited 45 minutes to eat. Do not go their with a grumbling stomach! -They were out of the whole wheat croissant by noon on the Saturday, but our waitress only informed us of this an hour after we had put in our order - and after she tried to serve us plain croissant without asking us. I was devastated, until I actually tried their plain croissant. -The avocado salad was pretty average tasting. -The freshly squeezed grapefruit juice was served at a lukewarm temperature. The (+)s -The plain croissant was perfectly crispy without being too buttery or flaky. -The cappuccino was just right. -The large terrace is very pleasant and well shaded.
