What a great little surprise in this Ecuadorian enclave of Ossining, NY. I walked into La Cuchara while waiting on a client nearby. This is a working man's plate type of restaurant. Their portions are solid and you will not leave hungry. They were pretty busy on this early Saturday afternoon. I had the "Pollo Guisado" with rice, beans, maduro frito (fried sweet plantain), and some CURTIDO. Now if you're Ecuadorian, you know you just can't have any OL' CURTIDO. It has to be fresh and it has to have balance on the seasoning, texture, and citrus (ONLY LIME). The right CURTIDO is like a good caviar atop a fancy-schmancy plate. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back and try something else.
