12 Best Restaurants at Somerville’s Assembly Row - Eater Boston

"La Cucina is pumping solid Italian food out of its cucina. The linguine con vongole comes with fresh New England little necks in a basil and white wine sauce, and one could find worse meals to eat after hours of panicky deal-hunting." - Terrence Doyle

La Cucina Italian Eatery Opens at Somerville’s Assembly Row - Eater Boston

"A new Italian restaurant is open at Somerville’s Assembly Row, and it’s good news for fans of the now-defunct Carmen in the North End. La Cucina Italian Eatery now serves dinner daily, bringing a homey dining experience to the Somerville retail and residential complex. The interior of the restaurant reflects some of the neighborhood’s automotive past. It has high ceilings, a 30-seat bar with a fireplace close by, a prominently displayed pizza oven, and a semi-open kitchen. Dishes available now include braised boar, linguine with clams, rigatoni bolognese, and grilled hanger steak, as well as an olive oil cake and a ricotta torte for dessert. The bar menu will feature artisanal flatbreads, salads, and other dishes, with a wine list that spans more than 150 options by the bottle and glass, and a cocktail menu consists of Italian and American beverages named for Ford car models. The restaurant also serves coffee from Italian company Lavazza." - Dana Hatic

Overall I really enjoyed the food and service. We’ve lived in Europe for two years and after we came back from Europe, we could hardly find any good Italian place in Boston. This is a very decent place. Decor The decor of the restaurant is quite interesting. They have basically five zones, outdoor, lounge, bar, table and upstairs. Each zone has its own look and feel. Service The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Food The food was good. The beef tartare was definitely a bit small on the quantity side, but it tasted very good with the chips. The pasta, which is what we are most skeptical about, was great. My husband ordered a veal chop and it was very good as well. The desserts were both great. We will definitely come back and I would recommend this place.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Drinks and food were awesome. Service was friendly. They were pretty busy so the food took a little longer but understandable in current times. Not sure where they get the chicken for their chicken parm but it's more like a chicken steak! Menu does not match their website but we all liked what we ordered. Ask your server if there are specials. Tiramisu was light and big enough to share. Would definitely come back.

Revised review: didn't have the best time here first couple of times, however 3rd time was the charme. Much better service. Management was attentive. But the best part was the food. It was what Italian should be. Simple food leaving you surprised by the flavor. Definitely would recommend. Great holiday vibe.

My food was really good, but it took 30+ min for it to come out. I wish our server was a little more attentive in that manner or would of let us know maybe that the kitchen was backed up. Overall the decor was nice, manager was nice came to our table to check up on a us a few times. The guy filling up water cups was great.

Elevated food, gracious staff, and great vision. As a resident of the ever more popular and expanding Assembly Row it is a treat to have such high end Italian restaurant right next door. Save the trip into the North End of Boston and enjoy all Assembly has to offer. When you're done shopping make sure to try La Cucina for traditional Italian food. First, as you walk in you will notice the size of the space, long bar, comfy seats, a loft with additional seating, and event space. The space is well utilized and the theme works. Upscale Italian brought from Boston to Assembly Row, as should be expected from Jeff Malloy who has worked for a long time in successful North End restaurants. It is a perfect blend of the two concepts as they truly embrace the history of Assembly Row and it's days as a Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant. Whether it is the hand tools as beer taps, the Ford blue leather chairs, or the Ford emblem painted on the wall, it all just works. Despite having just opened, last night was my second time dining at La Cucina for dinner. While Assembly Row is great for families La Cucina for dinner is the perfect place to spend quality time with someone special. There is a fantastic wine menu, incredible cocktails, and some great local beers to unwind with after a stressful day at work... or shopping. The staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and quick to recommend some of their favorites on a menu that is admittedly a bit intimidating due to how much of it is written in Italian. However, you should have no fear as everything on the menu has been splendid. To start off the meal we had arancini with braised pork shoulder and traditional meatballs topped with slices of fresh mozzarella. When you are deciding on your entree, make sure to ask for the bar menu as that is where they list all of their flatbread pizza selections, which they make in their own brick oven. While their "North End Favorite" Rigatonia Bolognese was great, I can't recommend the Squid Ink Risotto with Scallops enough (pic below). The staff was super accommodating for my girlfriend who asked for no tomato sauce with her shrimp and prawn pasta dish. They even offered to make it into a bit more of a conventional shrimp scampi dish which was fantastic. As the meal came to an end we enjoyed fresh vanilla gelato and chocolate cake served with espresso as the General Manager checked in on our night and told us about some of the exciting plans they have coming in the future. The most exciting of which, is their plan for a pasteria next door which will focus on quick service Italian take away dining. We are all to excited for that to open, and will be taking advantage of this for dinners on hectic weekdays. I think that employees and shoppers alike of the stores and businesses at Assembly Row, will enjoy a quicker dining alternative that the other restaurants in the area don't seem to offer yet. Additionally, he was telling us that the lunch service they plan to offer will have more americanized Italian fare such as chicken parmigiana, perfect for families looking to have a sit down meal together on the weekends. Overall while the staff is still figuring out how to work in the new space they do so with a smile on their faces, and the managers are quick to solicit your feedback. We look forward to see La Cucina continue to grow alongside the rest of Assembly Row.

Google
Good restaurant with solid Italian food and dashing decor. We have dined in this restaurant on a weekend as a family of four. The dining room was clean with a great modern decor. It was a pleasant experience. The food was true to Italian cuisine, the portions were really generous and kid menu was satisfying with options like salmon. We have chosen chicken piccata and chicken Marsala. Both tasted good. The chicken was not bland. It was properly cooked and seasoned. The sauces were the best part, genuinely Italian and tasting awesome. The service was fair but it could be improved. The little pieces of bread and small dish of plain olive oil given before the meals were disappointing, though. Neither of them tasted special. I could have done without them.

Yelp
My significant other and I came here over the weekend to have an early birthday dinner and we were not disappointed! We went on the earlier side around 5 pm and it was moderately busy but within a half hour it filled up. We were seated by the pizza oven which was nice because we got to see the process of them making the pizzas. We started off with the arancini and bruschetta. The arancini was excellent, in the top 5 arancini we've had around Boston. The bruschetta was also really good, but it did have a smokey taste and we wish they were more toasted. For entrees we both got pizzas - pepperoni and almondine. The pepperoni pizza was great - the only downfall was some sogginess because of the grease. The almondine pie was the hit of the night, it was delicious! Our waiter was attentive, kind, and gave us suggestions as it was our first time. However, we did notice that no one asked how our meal was but it did get busy. Service was at a great pace and we would definitely come back to try out more!

Yelp
Oh my I want to love this place so much. Service from the front of the house to the wait staff was superlative. The meal moved along well. Juan, our server, was exceptional. He anticipated everything, he is excellent. The drinks were delicious. Their cocktails are very creative and fun. Appetizers, arancini and calamari were perfect. Both were flavorful and lots of good crunch. Very nicely done. I ordered the fungi pasta and asked for less cheese. As you might expect by now, it came out perfectly. Portions were large. The first disappointment was the pizza. My friend ordered the prosciutto pizza and the bottom and top were burned. We did not order it well done and it was beyond well done. I tried a piece and it was beyond chewy. We should have sent it back, it was not edible. Next disappointment was the expresso. I ordered a a double and there was not bitter finish to it. It was bland, almost like instant. Overall we had fun, and we will be back, the place has potential.

Yelp
We were excited to try Posto because the Instagram site has amazing photos of their pizza. Sadly, the reality didn't quite match up to the appeal of the photos. We had two pizzas, margherita and eggplant. Both were fine but not great (the eggplant was the weaker of the two). Too droopy and just not the quality we were looking and hoping for. Also: the fact that there's salmon in a Tuscan Fish Stew is just wrong... The service was friendly and quick. The interior of the space is nice, but it's very generic -- could have been really any restaurant in a strip mall.

Yelp
This is a 3,5 review and not a 3 star. I went to Posto to try their Neapolitan style pizza, since they cook it in a 800 forno (which is custom in Napoli). However, I left feeling lack luster. To drink I ordered a sangria rossa, which I assume was premade (after looking around the bar and found a red and white pitcher) since even with ice it was not as chilled I'm accustomed. I didn't ask for more ice for a watered down drink. I wish sangrias were made to order. I began the meal with arancini, which came out in less than 5 minutes from ordering along with my mixed greens salad. The arancini was lukewarm when I bite into it and not oozing with cheesiness as I had hoped. What saved the dish was the red sauce, which was straightforward and without all the fluff that I feel is more Italian. The mixed green salad was just a little sad looking with the balsamic and greens. And the combo of feta, apple, red onion, and candied walnuts just wasn't working ... Maybe because of the balsamic ? Minus the red sauce, the appetizers didn't taste like any soul/passion/love was put into it. I did order what I came for, which was the Neapolitan pizza. The dough was soft and chewy, had nice char bites without it being too much. Neither the bacon or roasted garlic competed for attention but complimented each other well with every bite. Overall, the pizza was fine but nothing to write home about. The service was good - bar tenders attentive. Plenty of seating for a Saturday night even when it was busy. Posto does charge a 5% kitchen fee, which I think is high for the quality. I get for a living wage (I've worked BOH); however, food shouldn't overall be lackluster coming from them.

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night and the place was almost packed. It was reasonably priced for Assembly Row, with large portion sizes and nice, modern ambiance. I got the salmon, which was delicious and cooked perfectly medium well as I requested. It went very well with the lentils and cauliflower purée it was paired with, and was the perfect size for a filling dinner. The table also got Brussels sprouts and a meat lover's pizza to share. The pizza was larger than personal pizza sized and generous with toppings. The Brussels sprouts were sour and unique in flavor, though not crispy as described on the menu (still delicious though). The food came out fast, and our server was very friendly. I would definitely come back again for a solid dinner experience!

Yelp
I came for the happy hour special. Bar seating but for $18, you get an appetizer, entree and dessert with a fair selection! Hard to beat this value. I appreciated the various vegetarian options. Enjoyed the arancini which came in a spicy ariabbata type sauce, and was more flavorful than anticipated for a rice ball. Mushroom pizza came with an assortment of mushrooms and a rich creamy base. It was crispy and well seasoned. Tiramisu was moist and coated with chocolate shavings. Service was generally expedient and the ambiance was generally dark but not too loud, making it a viable spot for a meeting or date.

Yelp
I saw this place on a list of top pizza restaurants in the country and had to try it! The restaurant was spacious, clean and even had a brick oven. The staff were friendly, quick and attentive. You could also see the workers making the pizza dough. I thought the sauce and crust were superior to other very popular/famous pizza spots in Massachusetts. My husband and I shared the meat lovers and prosciutto pizza. I would definitely come back for the prosciutto pizza.

Yelp
This was an awesome dining experience. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic. We were a table for 6 with a reservation and were seated immediately. We had meatballs, brussel sprouts, meat lovers pizza, eggplant pizza and short rib gnocchi. We finished with affogato and tiramisu. Everything was delicious. We would absolutely return

Yelp
My friend and I tried this place for the first time on Sunday. When you walk in, the host is so welcoming. It's a cozy restaurant and the lighting is dark but not too dark that you can't read the menu. The tables have actual candles which is very cool! Not something you see often. I had the apple pizza which was delicious. I liked how the place had alcohol free drinks! I had the NA raspberry spritz which was good. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
NOT CLOSED! GREAT PIZZA! My coworkers and I ate here on a week night. The place was very busy and was loud, but we were seated immediately. We had a great server here. Our pizzas took about 10-15 minutes and came out delicious! We loved the wood fire pizzas! The sausage definitely has a kick to it, but was perfectly cooked. The meatballs were an excellent starter, as well were the calamari! We highly enjoyed this restaurant! Definitely stop by for some great pizza and drinks after some shopping!

Yelp
Been going to Posto for years. Lived in Somerville near the Davis Square location growing up and spent a lot of time inside. Some of the best pizza I have ever had... good cocktails... great staff.... BUT What is the deal with the blasting of pop music nonstop in the Assembly Row location? I have been over three times since it opened and each time it is an incessant stream of Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys, and pop hits from 2005 - 2016. I just don't get the vibe they're going for. Such a good spot in every regard but if you sit near the hotel entrance you can't have a conversation! Notably, I am in my mid 30s (so I guess old now?) but the vibe seems so off for Posto.

Yelp
Came here with a few friends, and I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza I ordered was alright--we got the eggplant and the soppressata ones. I honestly would not recommend either of them--they were not as flavorful as I had hoped. The ambiance and the waiters were very helpful though. It was a nice, large restaurant with lots of open space.

Yelp
My sister told me this place had the best chicken parmesan in town so we had to try it! We came pretty early close to when they opened, no wait, cozy and very great service. Rafael was our server and he helped us out really well. We ordered the chicken parmesan and the pepperoni pizza for our entrees. I was amazed with the pizza and the perfect crispness of the pepperoni. Chicken Parmesan was delicious as well. For dessert, we ordered gelato and tiramisu. Probably the best tiramisu I've ever had. The topping of the tiramisu with the chocolate shavings was *chef's kiss* wonderful.

Yelp
Posto has been one of my favorite spots since moving to Boston. I've always loved the food and cozy atmosphere. However, my last visit left me disappointed. I had made a reservation for four through Resy, but upon arrival, I was informed it was only booked for two. Rather than trying to resolve the issue or explore what might have gone wrong, I was told I'd need to wait an hour or leave. Given Posto's reputation and my previous experiences, I expected a more accommodating and understanding approach, especially at their new location. While I still have great respect for the restaurant and its team, this experience has left me hesitant about returning. I hope this feedback helps ensure smoother experiences for others in the future.

Yelp
I went here yesterday which was a Monday around 5:20pm for Happy Hour with a friend who used to live in Italy and missed the experience of Aperitivo and we were happy to find a place that didn't involve going downtown during rush hour. Their Happy Hour Menu is $18 for an appetizer, pizza and a dessert which is a pretty good deal, drinks are separate. When we got here it was empty but all tables were occupied when we left around 2 hrs later. We sat by the bar where the bartender took good care of us and we watched his creations. For drinks I got the Downeast Guava & Passionfruit and my friend got the Downeast Peach & Mango which seemed fitting to have with pizza. The bartender overheard my friend telling me about Amaro explaining the notes of it to me as I've never heard/tried it before and he gave me a sample to try which was really nice of him. For food I got the arugula salad which was good, the Pepperoni pizza which to my surprise was a 12inch pizza, I was only able to eat half and took the rest home and for dessert a tiramisu which was one of the best I've had in Boston and I think it's the perfect sized slice. I also ordered a rigatoni to go (forgot to take a photo) which was ready very quickly and it was a good serving. When I got home I tasted some and it was really good, mushroom with every bite. My friend ordered the arancini, the mushroom pizza which I tried and was really good- I'd recommend it for mushroom lovers and she got a tiramisu as well. As mentioned in another reviewer's post, the dough for the pizza is on the soft doughy side which I didn't mind, I liked it but I could see how this would be worth mentioning for those that are particular about pizza dough. Another reviewer also mentioned the lack of salt in the dishes but I didn't have that experience. I look forward to coming here again.

Yelp
Amazing pizza. Ordered the white peach pizza which was delicious, and the almondine pizza (we added either sausage or bacon) was also good but a little plain. Plan to try the apple pizza the next time I go. Laid-back atmosphere.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went in before the Davis Square location closed and we regretted all the times we could have gone and opted not to. The food was excellent and the vibe was fantastic. No notes on the service as it was normal and we felt well-attended.

Yelp
Posto is a cute little pizza/italian restaurant in Somerville right after Davis Square. Parking was a nightmare but we got one closer towards the square. Service was slow, but it may have been because there were 3. Plates on the table were chipped and silverware was somewhat clean. Food was the best part for sure, eggplant pizza with onions were delicious along with their rigatoni. Enough for 3 people for sure.

Yelp
Posto offers some solid pizza options in the Somerville area. Overall, the food tasted fresh and tasty. The mushroom and eggplant pizza were great. There is plenty of seating and the service was quick.

Yelp
Have walked by this restaurant many times and finally had the opportunity to try it. It was a Friday night. We were able to find both street and walk right in and be seated. The host staff was very friendly We were in a little bit of a rush, but our waitress was accommodating and friendly. The ambiance was nice, clean, and stylish. The food arrived at the perfect temperature and was very flavorful. I would have never put goat cheese with Brussel sprouts, but now I will be doing that at home. Overall, we were very pleased with our service, food and experience

Yelp
Came here for some pre-Marathon carbs and it was a great meal! My partner and I ordered their Spring Salad, a mushroom & truffle pasta and a meat lovers pizza. Everything was delicious but our favorite was the pasta. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce wasn't overly rich - it was just right. Their pizza was Neapolitan style and had great flavor and the crust was done perfectly. Made reservations for a Sunday night and they were pretty busy! Service was good and quick despite the business. Worth stopping by if you're in Cambridge!

Yelp
We had a delicious dinner at Posto last night. Originally seated at a bar table directly under a speaker, I asked if we could be moved and the host was very accommodating. Our apps and dinners were generously sized and tasty. There was a bustling crowd for a Thursday night! I'm glad to see Posto is thriving in their new location.

Yelp
First meal in Boston, we decided to try Posto in Somerville. My brother read somewhere that it was considered one of the top 50 pizzas in the world. No idea where this was seen. The lady serving us was great. No issues with the service for us. The ambiance was good. The lights were low. Fire from pizza oven was going which also helped. I had the LIMONATA (Pomegranate, Lemon, and Bubbles) which was delicious. My brother and sister had the Raspberry Spritz - (raspberry & basil, lime, with ginger beer) they stated it was great as well. Me and my sister both had the Gnocchi - (braised beef short rib, red wine sauce, Parmesan crema). The meat were small chunks. The Gnocchi itself was the best thing about the dish. There was something crunchy inside the dish which was most likely tiny diced carrots or celery were guessing. Probably good to have change in consistency to avoid everything from having a soft texture. It was OK, if I had to go back I would not get it again. My sister agreed. I believe my brother had the Meatball Red Pizza - (beef, pork, veal, mozzarella, Asiago, Parmesan, oregano, and garlic). He stated the pizza was ok, but he had better at various places. I would recommend to possibly try another place instead. Maybe expectations were too high.

Yelp
After the first few times I came here, I thought "it's good for Davis Square." But I've been here enough since, and had pretty solid meals and happy hours, to now think it really holds its own against some of the other Italian restaurants in the area. The ambience is amazing! So warm and inviting, with soft lighting and rustic wood tables and chairs, all warmed by the glow of the pizza oven. We have tried apps, salad, pizza and pasta and dessert and all are really solid, served piping hot, the dough for the bread and pizza seem really fresh, and the portions are generous. My one big complaint is all of the food is under-salted. Like ALL of it. We were sitting at the bar one night, and another diner asked if she could borrow the salt grinder in front of us, promising to return it. We said sure and I asked what she was having. "The swordfish...it's gonna be good with a little salt." See what I mean? My only other issue is that this style of pizza, touted as "Neapolitan", is too floppy and droopy in the center for my taste. And the eggplant pizza needs much more eggplant. But the flavor is there - fresh dough, wood fired - pretty good. I like the mushroom pizza best. I've also had hit or miss experiences with some of the salads - out of season tomatoes, odd combos. But the arancini, bruschetta (I know - why get this when you're getting pizza too? But my husband lives for a good bruschetta) and meatballs are very good. The smoked rosemary bread is outstanding, and arrives like a present, wrapped in parchment, and fresh and steaming hot! What a treat! And the pastas are nicely steaming hot, seemingly cooked to order and yummy (after a bit of salt...) The desserts we tried were during happy hour, so they were petite versions of cannoli - very good and I loved the crispy, flavorful shell - and we also had a standard, a-ok tiramisu. The service is very good and friendly. The crowd is welcoming. So I say come and get the smoked rosemary bread and dip it in the sauce around the meatballs. Add a little grated cheese and life is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Yelp
Absolute hidden gem in Davis square. Not sure how long it's been here but wish I knew sooner. It's a perfect date spot - IF you enjoy good food on the date. If you're looking for bells and whistles and tourist traps etc., then it's not your spot. The food was absolutely delicious. You can it's fresh and homemade. I highly recommend going and trying either the bolognese or rigatoni alla vodka. The Neapolitan style pizza is also delicious to share.

Yelp
A decent experience overall, but with several points that were noticeably lame. Food: got the burrata, which was noticeably cold; the prosciutto and watermelon and cheese had clearly come straight from the refrigerator. Part of what makes burrata great is its flowing texture, and this was undermined by the temperature. Also, I felt that the combination of elements just didn't work, compared to other types of melon, which are in season. Finally, it came with no bread -- which I've just never experienced when ordering burrata. We couldn't find our waiter, but a captain finally saw our pleading looks, and put in a ($4) order for bread, which turned out to be AMAZING. Why didn't our server at least ask us if we wanted bread? The brussels sprouts were fine -- crispy, definitely too hot to eat right away. The seasoning was uninteresting -- not even some paprika? The pizza was very good, though the crust was so thin and the sauce and melted cheese so wet that the center was soggy. The bolognese was the biggest hit, nothing special, but solid. Three times, we attempted to flag down our waiter, or any waiter, and struggled to make contact. The house was probably 1/3 full.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place craving a good pizza. Being slightly south of Davis Square, the lively and distracting foot traffic from the square doesn't interrupt the ambiance of the restaurant. We originally planned to sit outside, but after seeing the sun shining directly onto the tables, we decided on indoor seating. The restaurant was pretty empty, but filled up very quickly. We split the bruschetta and warm olive appetizers. The bruschetta was a little too acidic, probably from the balsamic and pickled red onion, and the bread was cut a little too thick. The olives were very good and the portion was generous, although it was heavy on the oil. We decided on the prosciutto pizza, which was very good. I was a little disappointed to see the prosciutto was not cooked with the pizza, but instead was simply placed on top, but it covered the entire pizza, so I couldn't complain. It was a nice dinner, especially for choosing it on a whim. With such a wide variety of pizzas, I'm sure I'll be back to try another.

Yelp
This spot hits every time! I always take advantage of their Happy Hour menu because you get an appetizer, pizza, and dessert for less than $20 a person. I never had a problem with being seated, but I would usually get there right when it opens. I have tried many different items on their menu and it's so yummy each time. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Would have been an hour plus wait without a reservation, but we luckily grabbed bar seats. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was great (swordfish and gnocchi). Lively atmosphere. Definitely Recommend.

Yelp
Posto was great! Our server wasn't very attentive/friendly at first but over the course of our dinner she became a lot more friendly! Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the eggplant pizza with ricotta. We also got the brussel sprouts with whipped goat cheese as an app and it was so good. Was a little on the expensive side but worth it!

Yelp
This place is pretty good. Fresh pizza, will try pasta dishes next. Place was full so 45 minute wait for a table, but the bar was open, so got seated quick.

Yelp
Somewhere between a 3 and a 4. The two pizzas we ordered were pretty good, with a chewy, puffy crust, but the toppings felt ... lacking. The pineapple/soppressata one was overwhelmed by the saltiness of the meat, which was fine, I ended up picking the meat bits off and enjoying the pineapple on its own. The apple one was a little bland. I usually don't like extremely strong flavors but this pie needed bigger chunks of gorgonzola and/or more of the caramelized onions. Not much of the apple shone through, leaving only a slightly crunchy texture. As it were, the only flavor I got was the arugula. I did like the summer salad (get it while it's still on the menu), with tomatoes, ricotta, honey, and perfectly ripe peaches. I would've been happy eating just this dish and foregoing the pizza. The thing that stuck in my craw was the 5% "kitchen fee", which was included as part of the food and the drinks, and then we were taxed on the total. Each pie, including the margherita, was already $20+. All told, with tax and tip, dinner ended up being around $50 for two small-ish slices, some salad, and a drink. Parking: Plenty of 2-hour street options, much easier to sort out a spot than the busier Mass Ave.

Yelp
Excellent. I've follow Juan G (lead pizzaolo) for a long time and the pizza tastes as good as it looks.

Yelp
Oh Posto, you never seem to disappoint... which is GOOD, because we live a block away ;) I often smell the wood-burning oven and other delectable smells that waft from the kitchen as I walk the dog around the neighborhood. What started as a food truck that served wood-fired pizza has become a full-service restaurant on the edge of Davis Square. They serve up all sorts of Italian flavors ranging from the northern cuisine that often features dairy and cream-based dishes to the south that features seafood, olives, and of course... the vibrant red sauces that most Americans have grown to know and love. The menu is not HUGE... this isn't your local Italian place that has a menu longer than the average children's book, no... it's a finely curated and targeted menu to give patrons not only options, but a wide array of options in a minimal number of dishes. I have not had a dish here that hasn't been worthy of ordering or the price, and we have tried over 75% of the menu at this point. Some of the highlights and our favorites: - Eggplant pizza (thin sliced and fried... VERY unique but delicious) - Short Rib Gnocchi (it's rich, delicious, and the gnocchi are like little pillows of mouth-gasm) - Warm, marinated olives - Garlic/Rosemary fired bread - Burrata salad w/ prosciutto and stone fruit It's a very inviting space, with low lighting and dark wood accenting the other decor. The service has always been friendly, prompt, and attentive. They do a great job making sure you are taken care of and there's not too much time between them checking back on the tables. Overall, we love this establishment and think it's a good value for what you get. I've seen a few complaints about the price increases over the years, but it's aligned with the area if not a bit cheaper (depending on where you are eating... Domino's need not apply for my business). I can't poke any holes in their menu or establishment. If you are in Davis Square and looking for a good Italian place to eat, you're in good hands at Posto, and the servers are more than happy to let you know what their favorite dishes are and what the rotating specials are for the evening.

Yelp
Yummy pizza and pasta! I remember liking their cocktails, too, but these days we mostly do takeout. The final bill always catches me surprise (do you think you're Giulia or something??), but to be fair, their portions are generous and will probably carry you for more than one meal.

Yelp
This is the spot I head to whenever I'm back in town. Love ordering the olive plate - it's so generous and enough to feed like 5 people. Recommend getting an order of bread to go wish it to sop up the olive oil. Staff was patient and kind (even with my cranky boomer Pops), and the pizza is always heavenly. Last visit we got a wild mushroom pizza that was a hit.

Yelp
This place is so great! The wait staff is very kind and very patient. We adored our waiter and he was very nice. The menu was very straight forward and has unique cocktails and fun appetizers. The drinks are great! The food is even better. The bathroom was clean and the restaurant had a great vibe. Be aware that there is an additional service fee that I learned about from a sign in the bathroom. It isn't a big deal, but I wasn't expecting that in the bathroom. The wait staff was amazing so I hope they are treated well.

Yelp
Partner and I came for Happy Hour special. Eat at the bar. Order an appetizer, pizza and dessert for $18. (Note: The options are more limited on the Happy Hour menu than the full dinner menu. For instance, there were only two desert options, canolis and tiramasu.) For appetizers, we ordered the argula and ceasar salads, which both solid. We tried the margarita and mushroom, which were both very good. The dough was thin. For the margita in particular, the pizza was so soft in the middle I needed to eat it with a fork (like people often do in Italy). The crusts were charred at the edges. The pizza was so large (12-inches) that I could only eat half and save room for the salad and dessert. We tried both deserts as well. The tiramasu was splended. The canolis were bland for my taste, unfortunately. We had good service at the bar. The bartender filled our water several times. Note: The restaurant is moving to Assembly Square in Somerville, but not sure of the date.

Yelp
Soo finally returned to this place after being throughly whelmed after trying this place twice about 4 years ago. I live in Davis and we were craving Italian so decided to give this place another try because it's so close. I have to say that my husband and I actually really enjoyed our meal here this time! We were walks in and sat at the bar! Ordered cocktails, the spicy sausage pizza, the carpaccio, and the arugula endive with shrimp! All very tasty options! Enjoyed each and every meal and now I don't think I can have the endive salad without the shrimp add on (very delicious combo). One star off just because the bar service wasn't great and didn't offer a dessert menu but overall will definitely come back. Had to give an upgraded review after such a pleasant dinner!

Yelp
2.5 Stars Maybe our expectations were set high, but overall underwhelming relative to our experiences at other places where we paid the same/similar amount of food. We ordered the arancini, calamari, and mushroom pizza. For drinks we got Birth of Venus and Pink Potion. The food was not bad but also not stand out. The arancini was very bland and the calamari batter could also have used more seasoning. The mushroom pizza disappointingly did not have the flavor complexity you'd hope for given the list of ingredients it has. Instead the most prominent aspect of the pizza flavor was the saltiness. Drinks were fine, both on the sweet side. It took a while to get the check. Saw other tables who asked for their checks after us able to check out first by a significant amount of time. The atmosphere is nice though.

Yelp
Spicy Shrimp Pasta was greasy but delicious nonetheless. Probably would still get it again the next visit Bruschetta could've done w/ less balsamic vinegar but tasted good nonetheless. 10/10 on the drinks department since I do love a fruity beverage. Bartender also made an amazing mocktail for my birthday too. Didn't get a chance to go during happy hour so definitely gotta check them out again

Yelp
The pasta here was the best thing on the menu for me. Great ambience and staff - a must try for sure

Yelp
Had a great experience but it was funny to read back my review from 2017. Back then a margherita pizza was $14. Nowadays, it's $22. I still recommend this pizza even though it's gone up $8 in 5 years. The sauce is divine. The cheese is perfect. The crust has char. It's the kind of fragrant delicious authentic homemade pizza you can compare to those you find in Florence. I paired it with a $14 glass of Vermentino white wine and for dessert a $4 scoop of fluffy delicious lemon sorbet. They also post that they've included a 5% back of house fee to help pay staff more fairly, I respect this. Very shocked at how much the price has gone up though. A margherita pizza really shouldn't be $22, but the quality is really incredible.

Yelp
Delicious! One of my favorite pizza places in Boston. I hate pepperoni pizza but the way they cook it makes me love it

Yelp
Who doesn't crave a good Italian food when in the greater Boston area? Well this evening we decided to try Posto & we weren't disappointed. We sat outside because we had the dog with us (note that they welcome dogs for the outside seating). We had a simple but delicious meal of pizza and pasta. That margarita pizza was especially good. They even made a special veggie pasta for us. Would recommend this place - especially if you are in the area with your pet.

Yelp
Wow! I decided to have Italian on my recent visit to Boston and stumbled across Posto in Cambridge. Don't browse the menu for too long just make a reservation and go. The cocktail drinks knocked my socks off. The garlic bread is a must as an appetizer. The shrimp pesto as an entree is enough to feed a small family but let me tell you all members of the family will be happy with this choice it was delicious. The restaurant playlist had me singing along through the entire night. I loved my dining experience and can't wait to come back.
