Since the 1980s, this neighborhood club has championed zydeco greats and Sunday-night dancers alike. Celebrated by Louisiana’s official tourism guides and current event listings, it remains a true community dance floor.

This place has a laidback environment. Something like the sitcom Cheers. They serve people from all walks of life but mostly blue collar workers. You can dress up or dress down it doesn't matter the owner makes you feel right at home. One of the best night to go is Thursdays. There is a D/J that plays till 2am and you can dance all night long. Thats why they call it swing out city.

I personally enjoy this place. I've never been one for a huge scene with a crowded dance floor and a long wait for bar service this place is perfect for good blues music and a quick drink at the bar. My friend and I stop by La Debs and we are always served quickly and the music is always great. Most times when I come here people are playing pool and hanging out at the bar. There might be one or two couples dancing on the floor but it's really chill and laid back. I don't mind having space to breathe and arm room so the place not being packed doesn't bother me.
