The 15 Best Breakfast Spots In Madrid - Madrid - The Infatuation

"You can have a Spanish breakfast of tostas and espresso shots all over Madrid, but if you end up longing for an eggs, bacon, and hash brown fuel-up, get it at La Desayunería. It takes the form of a typical all-American diner decked out in kitschy Route 66-inspired stars and stripes decor, and serving grilled cheese sandwiches, omelettes, and pancakes. The fan favorite is the Manchito platter, which overflows with cheesy eggs, pancakes, bacon, and fries that feel sized for a Spanish lunch. There are a few locations around Madrid, but the Ayala outpost tends to have fewer lines (though having a reservation is a solid plan). It also has a small upstairs play area for children, and a menu infantil with kid-approved pasta and tomato sauce." - lori zaino

We didn’t have any reservations but still only had to wait about 5 min to get seated. The place is small but surprisingly packs a lot of people. This creates an atmosphere of excitement and movement which I personally enjoyed. It didn’t take long for our orders to be taken. There was a lot to choose from but we went with the waffle with fried chicken and mac & cheese, and added bacon on the side. It was delicious! It truly tasted like authentic American food, and the portions were generous too (even if I would’ve loved more Mac & cheese cause it truly was the best I’ve had so far). We ended up sharing the plate and it was the perfect size to not end up too full. The only disappointment was the Strawberry Caramel Milkshake. The toppings were nice and delicious but the actual milkshake itself tasted watered down and barely had any flavour. I wouldn’t recommend taking it unless you like smoothies that have the consistency and taste of water. Overall, however, I definitely recommend trying the place. We enjoyed it and til this day think about going back.

Such a cute place. Food and coffee was great. Staff was great too. We had 8 people and they sat us easily. Food was quick and everyone was happy with their order. They also have merchandise so I got a cute mug.

La Desayuneria in Chueca is a cozy spot for an American-style breakfast, complete with U.S.-themed decorations and a year-round Christmas tree. The menu has plenty of gluten-free options, including pancakes, which is a nice touch. It’s also very child-friendly, with coloring pages and pencils at every table to keep little ones entertained. I tried the New York cheesecake, which was a bit crumbly and missing a crust, so not my favorite—but the warm atmosphere makes up for it. I’d definitely come back to try other dishes.

Wow I am So happy! I am from Boston Massachusetts and growing up I always went to diners on Sundays for breakfast with family Since starting my life in Madrid the only things I have missed was the American breakfast. This fufilled everything , I’ll definitely be back 😊🫶

A lovely small American pancake cafe. Not too busy but it was Monday afternoon. Had pancake with Kinder chocolate, wow it was hot, freshly made and lovely. Too much for me to finish unfortunately, wife had a huge piece of carrot cake, it was lovely moist and tasty. A little gem in the back streets of Madrid.

La Desayunería Madrid is absolutely fantastic — the food is outstanding, especially the French toast, which is rich, perfectly cooked, and unforgettable. The service is excellent, with a warm and friendly welcome that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive thanks to Jackline. The vibe is cozy and lively, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed and delicious breakfast or brunch.

I really enjoyed my meal, the food was excellent. But I don’t think I will be returning because of my experience. There were two dogs inside of the restaurant, sitting on the owners laps right up at the tables. The dogs were barking and drooling, it was quite disgusting and annoying. I cannot believe that the restaurant allows that. I believe this is against some health code. The next customers who came sat down at the same table the dog was drooling on, without the workers even cleaning it. I hate the thought that I could have been sharing the same eating table as a dog.

The restaurant is really cute, setup and all. We stepped in too far so the lady at the bar asked us to go back to the entrance. 😅( we didn’t sit down we were waiting for someone to get us) We all ordered a kind of meal that contained fries, eggs and pancakes. The waiter was more friendly. Eggs were okay, fries were quite hard and the pancakes not fluffy. Coffee was also so so. It was 15.45 eur. Not worth it.
