The 15 Best Breakfast Spots In Madrid - Madrid - The Infatuation

"You can have a Spanish breakfast of tostas and espresso shots all over Madrid, but if you end up longing for an eggs, bacon, and hash brown fuel-up, get it at La Desayunería. It takes the form of a typical all-American diner decked out in kitschy Route 66-inspired stars and stripes decor, and serving grilled cheese sandwiches, omelettes, and pancakes. The fan favorite is the Manchito platter, which overflows with cheesy eggs, pancakes, bacon, and fries that feel sized for a Spanish lunch. There are a few locations around Madrid, but the Ayala outpost tends to have fewer lines (though having a reservation is a solid plan). It also has a small upstairs play area for children, and a menu infantil with kid-approved pasta and tomato sauce." - lori zaino

We didn’t have any reservations but still only had to wait about 5 min to get seated. The place is small but surprisingly packs a lot of people. This creates an atmosphere of excitement and movement which I personally enjoyed. It didn’t take long for our orders to be taken. There was a lot to choose from but we went with the waffle with fried chicken and mac & cheese, and added bacon on the side. It was delicious! It truly tasted like authentic American food, and the portions were generous too (even if I would’ve loved more Mac & cheese cause it truly was the best I’ve had so far). We ended up sharing the plate and it was the perfect size to not end up too full. The only disappointment was the Strawberry Caramel Milkshake. The toppings were nice and delicious but the actual milkshake itself tasted watered down and barely had any flavour. I wouldn’t recommend taking it unless you like smoothies that have the consistency and taste of water. Overall, however, I definitely recommend trying the place. We enjoyed it and til this day think about going back.

Sorry, I couldn’t finish my meal. Those were the driest pancakes I’ve ever had. To add the potatoes were dry and the mushrooms were not sautéed through and still contain a lot of water. Just an honest review. I was pretty disappointed

Stumbled across this place randomly in an attempt to escape the sudden rain in Madrid yesterday and wow it’s going to be something I recommend to everyone that visits here now! Cosy little American diner style cafe with great pancakes, waffles y chocolate caliente. They give you colouring in sheets & pencils and have great music!! Perfect rainy day spot

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm, welcoming vibe and the charming decor: it manages to feel both lively and cosy, even when it’s bustling. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a slow brunch. I went for a fusion of a full English and American breakfast, and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked perfectly — hearty and flavorful. A special shoutout to the roasted tomatoes, seriously phenomenal. They added the perfect touch of depth and sweetness to the plate. The portions were absolutely massive (you will not leave hungry), and for the quality and quantity, the price was more than fair. The staff were a standout too: quick, kind, and incredibly efficient even with a full house. Service felt easy and smooth, with plenty of friendly energy to match the food. Five stars, no question. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Madrid, this place is a must for any brunch lover. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is awesome. The food was great, even if it wasn't the people and atmosphere would have overwhelmed any good related deficit. I am a big breakfast person. They were there for me in a world where looking for breakfast at 2pm seemed weird. Also, I have noticed the anti-tourist attitude on multiple occasions. These folks were as happy to have me and my family as I was being there. PLEASE go and get your belly fulfilled.

I went to this resturant based on a past visit that I had to the same chain at barcelona which was amazing and successful. Unfortunately, the resturant at madrid was just awful, the food not good at all. Ordered grilled cheese sandwish which was cold and not crispy, fries cold and not crispy. And the scrambled egges didnt have any seasoning. The coffee was medium at best.
