Sylvia McPherson’s artful tapas-and-wine bistro pairs Spanish-inspired plates, local pours, and live music. A longtime favorite featured by local tourism editors, it’s an atmospheric pre‑ or post‑art‑trail stop across from McPherson Cellars.

Wow and oh wow. What a wonderfully unexpected surprise while in town this spot is. Glad we found this artistic, quaint space and thrilled that we explored and shared the offerings family style. The meatballs were a huge hit, as were the white beans. We all agreed it seemed like they forgot to add any salt to the sardines, but the herbal flavors were nice. Fair warning that the peppers are considerably more heat than similar shishito dishes, but still good. Perhaps the nicest surprise was the wine that we ordered relative to its price point…win win. Will definitely be back if I can. Hand made offerings abound. PS- it would be nice to have pulpa on the menu for the deep Spanish vibe! Great service all the way around.

We had a great evening at La Diosa Cellars! The vibe is funky and artsy, with colorful eclectic decor, comfy chairs, and live music that perfectly matched the casual, lively atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive even with a full house. We tried a variety of dishes and drinks—standouts included the sparkling sangrias (refreshing and not too sweet), the flatbread (fresh, with lots of basil and tomato), and the Angelina and Lorena tapas, both full of flavor and beautifully presented. Portions were generous—perfect for sharing and making the meal feel like a real experience. The empanadas were a table favorite, and the starters came out quickly. We also loved that there was live music, with an acoustic set that made conversation easy while still setting the mood. Prices are fair for the quality, and the small cover charge for music is absolutely worth it for the atmosphere. This is a must-visit spot if you like a relaxed, unique setting with creative food and drinks—perfect for a fun night out in Lubbock!

Google
100000% worth it! Im not a fan of expensive restaurants in my opinion they are more for show, making the food pretty vs the food being unique & delicious but this place THIS PLACE! Is worth every single penny. We had a queso dip I can't remember the name (not pictured) and it sent my taste buds into a frenzy as soon as this deliciousness grazed my tongue. Have you ever had food that made you break out in a smile because it's eye rolling good? That's exactly what this queso did. It was only up from here too. We had the Barcelona pizza and it is unlike any pizza you'll taste anywhere else in LBK. We also had their special I can't remember what it was called but it came with saffron rice, shrimp and lamb.. the lamb was 🥴🤤. And as if this all was not enough the lighting & art were a whole vibe. Our waiter I can't remember his name (tall guy with long hair and a beard) but he's been my waiter every time I've gone and he's always so helpful, patient and willing to explain/help you with the menu especially the first time you go bc the menu is different than your typical restaurant in lbk and he never makes you feel silly for not understanding it or having questions. Absolutely love this place.

Google
Had a Surprise Birthday party for a dear friend. The staff here helped pull it off Magnificently!! The food was Fantastic and the recommended Wine a perfect pairing. I highly recommend this place …

Google
So glad I found this place. Went there the first time by myself. Had a very Delicious meal. Tonight I got to bring co-workers and it was even better. My waitress Mackenzie was the same one I had when I was there before and she did an fantastic job!. It would have been five stars across the board if it weren't for the wine selection. The selection is robust and very appealing, but there were a lot of things that they were out of and other wines that weren't on the list. But don't let that deter you from going to this place because the food and the portions are perfect.

Google
This place is a gem. Very quaint and eclectic atmosphere. Service is always good, they bring the tapas one at a time to not rush you through this culinary experience. Each tapa plate is curated with such wonderful spices and flavors. Also, good wine selections with something for everyone regarding price range. We enjoy the calm dining experience.

Google
The ambiance was great. We had the caprese salad, Blanca pizza, and creme Brulé. Sparkling wine was great and our server was so sweet. 10/10 would recommend and would come back.

Google
Amazing Spanish bistro food. Every dish was outstanding. The atmosphere is so eclectic but fun. Hard to reconcile find this place in Lubbock TX but shows me on our first visit to this town that it is not your average north Texas town 😁

Yelp
As soon as you enter La Diosa, you leave Lubbock. It's an old school gorgeous charm that takes you to a different place! While everyone around me was drinking their popular sangria, I opted for a bottle of sparkling rosè for about $35, and it was great. A great brunch choice! Worthy tapas: - Sylvana's Queso: The fresh garlic pieces mixed with sweet onion and artichoke hearts blended nicely for a strong taste. You can easily pick out the artichoke chunks to eat if someone at your table doesn't want them. - Risotto mí Lalita: Mushroom risotto for the win!! It's also closer to a regular meal size than tapas, so it's plenty to eat. - Sliced baguette: You cannot go wrong with this bread and oil combo. - Padrón peppers: Shishito peppers were grilled nicely and not spicy. They were too easy to eat!! Make a reservation online and go try it! They sell McPherson wines, and it was fun to eat here then go across the street to visit the McPherson tasting room as well. Their individual private restrooms are nice too. It's nice to see unique places like this in Lubbock!

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant and everything was amazing! They also have some artwork and decor available for sale. One of my favorite places now!

Yelp
What a pity. Lubbock needs all the interesting restaurants it can get, and I'll give La Diosa credit, it is interesting. The menu is certainly distinctive and the decor is unique. But that's the only good thing I can say about it. Several months ago, after checking their website to make absolutely certain they were open, we repaired to La Diosa. Alas, the lights were out and the doors were locked. Disappointing to say the least. Then last night we thought we'd give it another shot. It was to be my birthday dinner. We arrived at 8:20 and as we were about to sit down the guy behind the bar said, "Oh, the kitchen closes in 20 minutes!" In other words, we don't want your business tonight, so get the hell out. We did. Went to Escondido Grill instead. They were considerably more cordial. Bottom line, no business as unprofessional as La Diosa deserves to stay in business. They'll certainly get no more of ours.

Yelp
My friend wanted to try this tapas place in Lubbock after we spent the day wine tasting. It was super quirky and gave off antique/vintage store vibes. We ordered the roasted potatoes, paella, empanadas, bruschetta, and meatballs. The least impressive dish was the potatoes, didn't have much flavor. The most impressive dish was the paella which was jam packed with different textures and colors. Everything was beautifully plated and very pleasing to the eye. The tables were tiny here and close together. When we got up to go to the ladies room we had to squeeze thru just to get there. The three of us had no elbow room or table room for all our dishes. Over all, good food experience and great service. Our waitress was from Amarillo which is where my friend lives and very friendly to us.

Yelp
This place is definitely a hidden gem. Wasn't really sure what I wanted for dinner and came across this spot especially wanting to eat light and something different. Food was great just as the service was from Farron. She was so welcoming and a pleasure meeting. I was just amazed with my experience here. Nothing but good food, service, and even the music. Learned from Farron that they have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. You will not be disappointed if you visit this spot.

Maralou B.

Yelp
This place? An absolute tapa takeover! The vibe is pure magic -- buzzing, trendy, and somehow feels like everyone cool already knew about it but you just got the invite. The staff? Total legends. They didn't just serve food; they curated an edible adventure, steering us to dishes that made me question every tapa I've ever had before. Each bite was a flavor bomb -- I was grinning like a tourist on sangria. And the wine? Get this -- local, from literally across the street, and I swear it's the best I've had (and I'm spoiled, bouncing between NYC and Florida). Who knew the best wine I'd sip would be hanging out casually in this gem? I came hungry, left obsessed, and already planning my next "I-accidentally-ate-everything" night here. Total surprise, total win.

Yelp
This place is amazing, just go there. It's the best restaurant in Lubbock. Wonderful tapas, great tortilla espanola, good wine list. I have been going here about 5 years and have never been disappointed. The interior is super cute, great ambience.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great place to meet a friend for sangria and live music. I'm not a huge tapas fan -- I think they're overpriced for the quantity I'd good you get. However, the food is good and it's a fun place to visit. Quality of service varies.
google avatar

Zoe M.

Yelp
Absolutely stunned that I've never been here before. This truly is Lubbock's hidden gem. The atmosphere, service, and food were all phenomenal. It didn't feel like we were in Lubbock. This is a place where you eat multiple tapas, basically a series of shareable appetizers. They were all delicious and paired well with the wine. I want to emphasize how wonderful our waitress was. I'm wishing that I could remember her name, so that she could get the credit she deserves. Who would've thought that a beautiful restaurant with fresh, flavorful food just happened to be behind some of Lubbock's main college kid Thursday night go to's such as the Library and Kongs. Don't let the location steer you away, you won't even feel like you're in Lubbock. This is now on my Lubbock top 3 must try restaurants. I definitely recommend trying Sylvanna's Queso. It had a nice kick to it and a perfect blend of cheese and artichoke. The Margherita pizza wasn't the best I've ever had, but the flavor was wonderful. I can't wait to try more!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. Fully intended to post pictures as the plates came out to show how well it was all presented, however as they came out I was so excited to try them that I forgot to take the picture until I had taken a bite. This place delivered on quality, taste, environment and options! Wine was good as well. Had the sangria out of obligation based on what our friends told us. It's as good as I've ever had but I'm just not a sangria fan. The other 4 wines we tried were all awesome. Our server was awesome, he helped us pace our courses over the two hours we spent there with plates coming out within 5-10 minutes of us ordering them. We had a great dining experience here and look forward to another evening there to try the plates we didn't have this time.
google avatar

Kaylie D.

Yelp
I've never had any bad experiences at La Diosa! The environment is so beautiful and inviting, you never want to leave. GET THE SANGRIA. You'll thank me later.

Yelp
This is a great place for an afternoon drink and snack. A very relaxed chill vibe with jazz music playing in the background. My Porto Tonico (gin & tonic) drink was refreshing and had a slight sweetness to it that I liked. My wife liked her sparkling sangria. Sylvana's queso was well flavored with just a touch of heat from the diced jalapeños. Keeana our server was superb.

Yelp
Our reservations were for 2 at 7 pm. We arrived (very) early and they accommodated us immediately with water and menus and soon were greeted by our waiter Frankie. What a great evening. From the wine to the tapas to the live acoustic set by Tatum Sheets. Overall, 10/10!

Yelp
La Diosa Cellars in Lubbock has a cool vibe. The risotto mi lalita (mushroom risotto) was pretty good but sadly the crab cakes weren't good with the excessive citrus sauce. Great wine selection here.

Yelp
Thanks to Farron and the whole staff for making last night amazing. I contacted her early in the day to make a reservation and explained to her that I would be proposing to my girlfriend. She assured me that she and the staff would do everything they could to make the night special. I took the flower arrangement by the restaurant early in the afternoon & they placed it in the cooler for me. When we arrived, the host treated us amazingly by welcoming us and letting us know the special for the evening. The waiter was super attentive to anything we needed and was very helpful in recommending dishes from the menu. I excused myself from the table for a few minutes before dessert and gave the ring to Farron. She attached it to one of the stems and they brought the arrangement when they brought dessert. My girlfriend was so surprised when they brought it out and she got emotional when she noticed the ring. All the other patrons cheered and clapped when they realized what had happened. Other people and the wait staff came by to wish us well and take pictures if we needed it. Special thanks to whoever picked up the dinner tab. I don't know who you are, but that was a super sweet gesture. Many blessings to you. The food was great and I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone was so warming and thoughtful throughout the whole experience. Four thumbs up to everyone at La Diosa Cellars. I'm sorry if I can't remember your names. It was a wonderful night.

Saul S.

Yelp
The menu is extensive. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is excellent. The overall experience is exceptional. Don't let small plate menu mislead you--you can put together three of your favorites to order and it'll be one of the best meals you ever had!

Yelp
Best sangria I've had, anywhere. Charming neighborhood, seems to be nestled in the historic part of Lubbock (feels like being in the 50s). Must try this place

Yelp
This place is incredible. Last night was my first visit and I will definitely be back! I'm on the leadership team of a student organization at TTUHSC's school of medicine and we had planned a social event at a winery south of town, but they closed earlier than we thought on Thursdays, so we changed venues last minute. I'm so glad we went with La Diosa. I was a little concerned about the size of our party (we didn't know how many people would come and figured the numbers would fluctuate as the night went on) so I made a reservation for 10 and then called to ask what the seating would be like. They were SO helpful and said they would save the entire back room for us. We had a large table, a few smaller tables, comfy chairs, and a huge couch all for our group. The service was fantastic, everyone was so attentive and food and drinks came very fast. I only had a sangria and shared a little bit of their queso with my friend, but I will 100% be back for a pizetta because they looked fantastic. The sangria was so good and all the drinks were very reasonably priced. The food is a bit on the pricier side for students, but it's a beautiful wine bar with higher end tapas, so considering that, also reasonable! Lots of people in our party got food and seemed to enjoy it, and those that didn't had a great time hanging out and drinking wine. I was worried our large party might be a bit of a bother, but everyone at La Diosa was so nice. I wish I had taken pictures of the atmosphere because it's PERFECT. Dim lighting, pretty Turkish lamps and hanging lights everywhere, lots of art on the walls, etc. I'm so glad we went and I am looking forward to returning!

Yelp
The food was incredible and beautifully done, service was super friendly, professional and fast, and the ambiance was phenomenal! Wonderful place for a date night or wine with the ladies!

Sunny D.

Yelp
Called ahead to make sure they had in stock what I wanted before driving 20 miles. They said they had it...only to get there and find they didn't.

Sheila G.

Yelp
It's a nice place to go have drinks and eat delish food. Cooper was great, music was good ($5) per person cover charge to listen to music.
google avatar

Lindsey H.

Yelp
Best place I've dined at in Lubbock since relocating here. We went with a small group of friends. The atmosphere is just perfect for date night, or friends; or in our case, both. Our waiter was fantastic and every recommendation he made was perfect! The brie and risotto are must haves! We enjoyed their sangria and El Jefe red.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Adorable spot!! We had great service throughout our whole dining experience. We had the red sangria with champagne and a slew of plates! We didn't care for the pizza options. The naan bread was flimsy and not lovely. Everything else we had was fantastic!

Karen M.

Yelp
Overpriced tapas. Actually for Lubbock the food is pretty good; that's not saying much)but over priced for sure.
google avatar

Melissa J.

Yelp
First time here. Found it on this site and wanted to try something different....no regrets at all!! Restaurant is gorgeous and the food was delicious! Will def be back! :)
google avatar

Krysti S.

Yelp
Homemade Sangria? YES Please! The sheer ambiance of this place is reason enough to visit! Enjoyed conversation and sangria with a friend here recently. It was my first visit, and I cannot wait to go back. Lots of comfy seating areas make you feel like you are in your living room. There was no live music when we were there, but hear that does happen....and we didn't eat, as we had just stopped in after eating at a neighboring restaurant. Look forward to going back soon!
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
This place brought warm memories to my Barcelona trip. The food is made from a scratch and it is fantastic!
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
I am in love with this place and was overly impressed. It's an intimate atmosphere and displays local art and artist work proudly around the restaurant. It's a celebration of Mexican artwork and culture in decor. Very very tastefully done. The sangria I had was delicious. Not overly sweet and the crab cakes were very good. It's got a healthy amount of crab meat and not too overloaded with filler or bread crumbs. A light drizzle of sauce and yum. Really enjoyed the manager. She deeply cares and as of the writing of this post they've been in business 17 years. Everything made in house. Yum. Just awesome!
google avatar

Kit F.

Yelp
Great tapas, including anchovies and sardines swimming in garlic butter. The shared plate is piled high with tangerine-marinated olives, figs, apricots, Spanish almonds, and meats. Sangria is wonderful. Staff will go out of their way all the time, but particularly if they know you are there for a special night. Eclectic decor that makes you forget you are stuck in Lubbock.

Yelp
Went for happy hour and enjoyed the entire experience. From the service to the food and wine, I was quite pleased. There is no doubt I'll be going back.

Yelp
This is such a unique place! I am in love with the atmosphere and was overly impressed by its intimate atmosphere, displays of local art, and layout of the restaurant. Spanish and Mexican artwork and culture are seen throughout the menu and decor. Very very tastefully done. I made a reservation for a small bachelorette dinner a couple weeks in advance making the experience even more perfect. Here are my reviews Sangria: 5/5 light and fruity flavor, not overly sweet Crab cakes: 5/5, fantastic flavor and super generous size for seafood Barcelona pizetta: 4/5, The crust was pretty dry and over done but the overall flavor profile was so great Overall experience: 4/5 The only reason this place is getting 4/5 is because of our waitress experience. She was clearly unhappy to be stuck with the table full of young women. While I am no stranger to negative stereotypes of a younger crowd not tipping/being loud/etc, I still believe each dinner party should be given stellar service regardless of their age. She seemed to be annoyed by any pertinent questions about the menu, did not refill our water after requesting refills multiple times, and cared more about the surrounding tables around us. I have to say it was rather disappointing. Overall, this would be a great date night or relaxing wine bar night with the ladies!

Carolyn D.

Yelp
Awesome food. Went there for graduation celebration. Love the tapas but not many drink options. Still definitely a place to check out when in Lubbock.

Brittany C.

Yelp
Everything about this restaurant is amazing. Great for groups and really good drinks! Decent price and wait staff is awesome. I have never been disappointed! It's also super cute on the inside and great for dinner pics

Yelp
We had a great evening on a Saturday with our 2 adult children. Very impressed with the ambience and the service, and live music was an unexpected bonus! All of our orders were delicious, but the Barcelona pizza deserves special praise! It is a pricey evening but a special one.

F D.

Yelp
Food is overpriced and mediocre, and the place tends to really noisy. Service is underwhelming.
google avatar

Tricia L.

Yelp
My husband, college-aged son, and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious. We ordered a small Frutata (fruit, cheese, and cracker plate), their signature meatballs, a pizza, baguette bread, and shrimp. The sangria was yummy and I also tried a glass of the Italian Field Blend which was really good. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. We had wonderfully attentive service. Lauren was friendly, helpful and made sure we were well taken care of. The decor is really cool. Love the art and cozy feel. You can choose to sit at a table or on eclectic-style couches and chairs. We highly recommend it!
google avatar

Monique B.

Yelp
The Isabella trio of hummus was understated on the menu, but explosively flavorful in our mouths. The basil mint hummus on the garlic butter flat bread ... omg! The Mezzaluna Escargot has enough garlic butter to keep me in heavenly bliss for the rest of the night. The Santo Burillo braised pork tenderloins and New Zealand Lamb Pops made my sweetheart have to close his eyes and simply melt into the taste. While the Marina gulf shrimp were large and tasty, we were more impressed by everything else we had. The reviews about the slow-ish Kitchen are on point. That's the only small dissatisfier. Still, the food made up for it. Loved the vibe of the venue. Lots of character. We couldn't stay for the live music this time. But we will be back!
google avatar

Gowan H.

Yelp
Perfect date night spot. The service was excellent and food was delicious. Can't wait to go back and try some other menu items. Definitely recommend the Angelina and the key lime pie. Also, liked the house sangria.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite places to visit in Lubbock! You often forget that you are in Lubbock when you are there. Our table always gets a bottle (or 3) of their signature sangria and start off with an order of the Rebecca. Beyond that, we have all tried something different every time we have been there, and I have not eaten anything there that I didn't love. Keep in mind that it is tapa sized portions, so it is not massive, Texas sized portions. Just ensure that you manage your expectations. It is also a great atmosphere on Friday nights with live music that we have all enjoyed multiple Friday evenings!
google avatar

Gina V.

Yelp
they're sangria is so good! so many options for wine. love their tapas and so many different options. so eclectic with the decor. it's funky. one of a kind for lubbock! live music on the weekends. always a good time

Karissa J.

Yelp
We did a girls night here and we were not disappointed! We tried a variety of tapas and they were all delicious! I recommend the basil pizza and artichoke cheese dip. The server was kind, knowledgeable about the wines, and took care of us. Moscato and sangria were our favorites. The ambiance was cozy and laid back. It was a perfect place to relax, enjoy good food, good wine, and good live music.

Angela O.

Yelp
This is the fourth time I've been here and the first time with all my friends! The food was fun to see and taste and the wine delicious- loved the LaDiosa Sangria. Great atmosphere!
google avatar

Eddie L.

Yelp
First time at this tapas place. Very chic and cool vibe to the restaurant with art than can even be purchased. Cool place to just sit and relax. Staff very attentive and nice selection of wine. Nice menu with nice variety of selections. Tried the albóndigas so they are a must try! Very tasty and flavorful.

Carlos G.

Yelp
We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday and the experience was unforgettable. The quality of the food was amazing, we ordered Meatballs, Shrimps, different types of cheeses, escargot, and to complete the sangria (both normal and virgin for the kids. The decoration was amazing, it really transport you to Spain and brought back memories from our times eating tapas in Madrid.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
I was in town for work and wanted to experience a fun restaurant that was not a chain restaurant. I found a great time and great food at La Diosa Cellars! On a Thursday night, there was a nice jazz band playing (charged a $3 cover) and only a handful of patrons in the place. The wine was good, but the apps were so tasty.
google avatar

Anjelica D.

Yelp
Great tapas and drinks! They have the best sangria and queso. Cute place for a date night or girls night.
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great. The art was fun to look at. The plates were very well plated. The risotto was excellent really enjoyed the flavors. We were all mildly disappointed that they were out of the creme brûlée but that's just a reason to come back!
google avatar

Ericka B.

Yelp
We love La Diosa! Never disappointed and always look forward to it all day! New menu items were amazing, especially Lorena! The desserts were the perfect end to the perfect meal! The non-alcoholic sangria was a treat for those of us who choose not to drink! Would and have told everyone about it!
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
A true Lubbock treasure! The perfect spot for cozy conversation and a glass of wine with friends or an intimate date night destination. Tapas menu is divine and service is always impeccable. Some of my favorites dishes include the meatballs, the Rebecca, the buttery olives and the escargot. Try the sangria if you aren't much of a wine drinker!
