Google
Absolutely divine experience! Even though we were dressed casually, we were treated so wonderfully by our server, who was so kind and helpful! I had the amaretto Creme brûlée which was one of the most heavenly creations I have ever had the pleasure of tasting and a lemon drop that tasted exactly like the hard candy! My mother had the bananas foster bread pudding which also tasted wonderful. This is the perfect spot to relax and cool off after a busy day in downtown Ann Arbor

Google
Stopped by for dessert after dinner in the area, and I love the dim, casual, laid-back nature of this place! We tried 3 desserts - the mudslide cheesecake, German chocolate cake, and crème brûlée. All were excellent, but the Mudslide cheesecake was definitely my favorite! Only drawback of my visit was the service time and lack of attentiveness - we were one of the first tables seated for the evening, but it took ~15 minutes for a server to approach us and another ~25 minutes to grab water and take our order. As more parties came in, it felt like we were less of a priority since we did not order any drinks or cigars.

Got the creme brulee and it was heavenly 😋 it had a very mild cherry flavor to it which I didn't mind at all. our server was so professional and kind :) great ambeince! It's a must visit 🙂

Google
After a long day of visiting museums, I wanted dessert as we drove back to our hotel. My husband googled dessert places, and found La Dolce Vita. The menu sounded fantastic, so we decided to visit. This place is huge! It is part of The Chop House, a steak restaurant. You can come in just for dessert. The menu is on a tablet, and if you tap on the description, a photo of the dessert pops up, along with the price. Mind you, this isn't cheap; dessert for 4 was about $60 with tip, and worth it. My husband had bananas foster bread pudding; my brother ordered affogato, and his girlfriend had amaretto creme brulee. I ordered German chocolate cake. Everything was absolutely perfect, beautifully presented, and scrumptious. My husband is a pastry chef, and he loved it. Our server, Jessica, was friendly and warm and hospitable, and deserves praise. It was exactly what we needed at the end of our day. We would definitely return.

Google
Such a cool spot in Downtown AA! A little pricey but because it's attached to the Chop House. Our server Aya was amazing! You have to go through the Chop House doors and the greeters will take you to the cigar area. If you are gluten free they have Crème brûlée and sorbet and Gelato.

Google
Delicious variety of desserts. My favorite was the banana pudding. Really warm center with an outstanding flavour. I would say my second favorite was the creme brulee. Nice amount of sugar at the top and rich vanilla flavour.

Rebecca Bartels

Google
We got the bananas foster bread pudding and mudslide cheesecake and it was delicious. Great treat on a special night. Our server, Maria, was a delight and very knowledgeable about the menu.

Downstairs is so intimate and relaxing. The lights are low, the chairs and couches are comfortable. And the desserts are stunning! Great date place!

Yelp
Fantaaaastic concept - a dedicated dessert lounge!! You enter thru The Chop House and awkwardly let the host know that you're there for LDV as there's no dedicated entrance of La Dolce Vita. There's about 8 desserts and a "dessert of the day" to make it extra difficult for you to pick. So we went for two desserts and a port flight: *Toffee Blondie Sundae (Warm Coconut-Pecan-Butterscotch Blondie Topped With Vanilla Ice Cream | Oat Streusel | White Chocolate | and Rum Toffee Sauce Poured Tableside) - mmm rummy rum. I feel like if you like Rum Raisin ice cream, you'd like the flavors of this! It was pretty decadent but not in a chocolate-y way. I couldn't stop eating it! *Brown Butter Lemon Bar - this was the dessert of the day. Loved that it was topped with ample fresh berries and wasn't too sweet. The toasted merginue-y whip was a really nice touch too! They also had a tasty looking boozy coffee beverage, which looked bomb but we were too full!

Yelp
This place is an amazing date spot post dinner! There is seating on the first floor of the restaurant as well as the basement. The basement does sometimes smell like smoke so I like getting seated on the first floor. They have a whole array of delicious dessert and my favorite is the creme brulee. So creamy and delicious. I highly recommend coming here for wine and dessert.

Yelp
This is my favorite late night dessert place in Ann Arbor! I came here with a friend after having dinner on Main Street. It was fairly slow and quiet on the Wednesday but that's exactly what I wanted. I was seated next to the Christmas Tree on a very comfy loveseat and chairs and it literally just felt like I was at home on a romantic date, I loved how relax it was! The cheesecake was my favorite, I ordered it with the raspberry and it was perfect. It wasn't too sweet and the texture was creamy and smooth. The opera cake was also amazing, not too sweet and with gelato. The service was great, our server was so attentive and was engaging. Overall this my favorite dessert spot on Main Street.

Yelp
We've been many times, and its usually good. Tonight was terrible. Wait staff spilled my wife's martini on the table, stuck her hand in the drink to remove the shaker parts, and served the drink anyway. The German chocolate cake was frozen in the middle and my Manhattan looked and tasted like it had more cherry juice in it than bourbon. We'll give them another chance, but tonight should have been comp'ed. Unfortunate.

Yelp
Ok, not quite sure why this place only has 4 stars. It is hands down the best dessert place in Michigan! They have so many options, and I have tried many of them. I will include a picture of one of my favorites. The last time I was there I ordered 4 of them and took a video so unfortunately I can't post those. Anyway, everything here is so good. It's located inside of Chop House and I've only been there for the dessert. Also, one of the waiters there is very sweet and helpful. This is a really nice place to go to this time of year. They have several seats just for dessert and there's a fireplace to keep you nice and cozy. I personally love Baileys and the chocolate melt cake was a dream. The taste of baileys in the cookie ice cream was great. I've also tried the chocolate decadence, malted german chocolate cake, tiramisu and I don't remember what else. They were all so good! The only down part is that sometimes if you go around 8/9 on a weekend night, they will have already sold out of some of the desserts. Either way this place is great. I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
This is a great, datey place when it comes to dessert. When you come in (usually through Chop House), you have to ask for dessert only seating to get in quicker. There's also a cigar lounge downstairs! Friends and I ordered an affogato, bananas foster bread pudding, German chocolate cake and tiramisu. Out of all of them, I have to say that the most unique and best tasting one was the bananas foster bread pudding. There's a lot of hints of maple and cinnamon and the bread pudding just MELTS in your mouth. It's so good! The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because their tiramisu and German chocolate cake was pretty ok, nothing super special.
google avatar

Yelp
A little on the expensive side but the desserts are worth it all! We tried the decadent chocolate with raspberry compote. It was sinful!
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
I've had a solid amount of creme brulee in my life, and this is one of the best I've had. I was blown away by how good it was, and I wish I was closer to Ann Arbor so I could treat myself to La Dolce Vita's creme brulee more often. They have the perfect crack that a lot of other creme brulees lack, but also an exquisite vanilla flavor. I will dream about this creme brulee. Their bananas foster bread pudding was also pretty good, if a little decadent. I would definitely recommend trying that if you're not a fan of creme brulee. If the two desserts we tried are any indicator of the quality of the rest of their menu, I think you'll probably love whatever you get.

Yelp
THE DESSERT HERE IS AT THE TOP!! When you bite in you can tell someone made whatever you're enjoying from scratch!! New York style Cheesecake was so light! The Gelati Or Sorbetti Had all kinds of textures that made you smile. It's simple, if you choose to have dessert here you will be happy and it doesn't break the bank!! 10/10

G D.

Yelp
This place is unique in Ann Arbor, as far as I know, and a great place to change things up with a drink, cigar, and dessert. Old school classy...
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
I've heard good reviews and had plenty of conversation with friends who have visited this establishment. Seems the Tiramisu is a favorite treat here and I'm a huge Tiramisu connoisseur and addict. What I came for was wonderful and that was nice but the atmosphere and service was beyond my expectations. Very classy and warm place to enjoy desert and relax with friends or a date night with your special someone. Give this a try!! Promises that you'll come back for seconds.

Yelp
It's one thing when you walk into a restaurant and are asked "can we help you?" By the host. When it was pointed out that perhaps if we were two White women he would've asked "table for two?" It's another thing when the awkward exchange was witnessed by the manager (through his own admittance). We called , being from out of town and having gps take us to some sketchy (the restaurant is in a sketch area too) street and informed them we were to be late but minutes away and were told no problem. The host who looked surprised that the woman he spoke with was Black , decided to scold us as if we were 10 and kept stating we were late. The food was subpar. Manager waived the glasses of wine. Which was fine but honestly who cares as we came out because by Gods grace we can afford to dine out and support local businesses in these times. Terrible customer experience and pretentious energy. 0 out of 10 I do NOT recommend.

Yelp
Located in the basement of the chop house. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I loved the service, how clean and cozy the atmosphere was and the desserts were delicious! I will be recommending it to my friends and family.

Yelp
We came here after dinner. There were three of us and we ordered two desserts to share, which was still a bit much. By the end, we were uncomfortably full (in a satisfying way) and all sugared out! The best thing is probably the creme brulee. They had a seasonal trio special - vanilla bean, chocolate, and coconut. But by far, the vanilla bean flavor was the best, so no need to fret if the trio isn't on the menu, since they sell the vanilla bean one separately as well. The other dessert we ordered was the German chocolate cake. Definitely packed full of chocolatey goodness, but the best part was the ice cream that came with it, which was subtle in flavor and offered a nice contrast to the richness of the cake.
google avatar

Vijita K.

Yelp
Even though La Dolce Vita is attached to The Chop House, it is affordable for a fancy dessert to be shared between friends for special occasions. The average dessert price is $10-$14, and it is some of the best you will have in Ann Arbor. The bananas foster bread pudding is one of my favorite desserts in the area. The rummy, rich banana, and spiced gelato make it an upscale, decadent dessert under $10. I also really love the chocolate decadence here since the blueberry ice cream really helps complement the rich chocolate cake with 3 different types of chocolate fixings. I've never gone for the classics here, but can only imagine the quality of a classic cheesecake and tiramisu. For people with asthma: Try checking in if they have no smoking nights going on that day since the basement can sometimes get stuffy and uncomfortable since this is a dessert + cigar bar, and seating is in close proximity.

Yelp
After dinner upstairs at the Chop House we decided to head down to La Dolce Vita for dessert, drinks and a cigar. We were seated in a corner and I noticed there were only 4 other people in the joint. I have to say, service here is far and a way less attentive than its upstairs neighbor. Literally everything took forever. Placing our order, getting our drinks, getting the cigar etc. The one waitress must have liked the table of four guys more, because they got her attention 99% of the time. Beer was good, cigar was good, and the Candy Bar Pie with the Happy Birthday place was awesome. Service? Total meh.
google avatar

Mandy W.

Yelp
This is a cute spot to celebrate a birthday if you want to do dessert only! If you want warm and cozy, go enjoy your dessert in the basement seating area! It's nicely decorated. Do note that there are hours when it's cigar hours so your jacket/outfit will smell of that. We got all sorts of desserts. I got to try their salted candy bar pie and creme brulee. Plating is beautiful! The salt caramel bar pie tasted fine. This plate should be shared because the pie is so dense. I felt like I was eating 3 chocolate bars. The creme brulee is an 8 out of 10. You'll enjoy it! If they add vanilla beans to the filling, that would top it off. The flavor would be incredibly rich! They also have Listerine in the bathroom downstairs. What a life saver!

Yelp
I went here for dessert and was very impressed. They seated us downstairs in the Cigar Bar, where we were able to spread out on comfy couches and armchairs. I was glad to find that despite the name, the Cigar Bar did not smell of smoke. Moreover, we were told that they did not allow smoking until after 10pm. We went with the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee and the Gingered Peach and Blackberry Crisp. The Creme Brulee had a beautifully caramelized top with fresh seasonal fruit, and the bottom was rich, creamy and delicious. The crisp was a bit of a fail, in my opinion. Keep in mind, I am not a fan of ginger on the best of days, but this dessert took it way over the top. When I see "gingered", I think ginger juice, but this dessert contained decent sized chunks of ginger. However, with some careful maneuvering, I was still able get in a few good bites. Despite the overly gingered dessert, the overall experience at La Dolve Vita was excellent and I would recommend anyone to stop in if they were looking for a decadent dessert while in A2.

Yelp
Lava Cake is not lava enough. Only a small part of the center is melting. Blueberry crumble cheese cake is too sweet. A bit disappointing. Service is pretty good though.
google avatar

Pam T.

Yelp
Great spot to catch dessert after a meal in the downtown Ann Arbor area. They have unique dessert cocktails, usually including coffee. If you are in the area for your birthday, stop by for dessert. We have been here twice and they always do a plate fixing that says "happy birthday" which is very personal touch. We tried the chocolate melt cake which had Baileys cookies and cream gelato. This was delicious! I am not a huge dessert person myself, but I couldn't help but enjoy this treat. The dessert was perfect for the two of us, not too heavy and just the right amount of food. We had the chocolate decadence last time and that is a great choice as well.

Yelp
Really amazing desserts - a good spot to bring a significant other or a date! Lovely ambiance! Only wish they had more eggless options. If I could - I would have really given this place a 4.5 out of 5 and not just a 4! Worth checking out!

Yelp
One of my fave places for a splurge, no doubt! Both $$ wise and calorically. It's attached to a the Chop House but tucked in the back with some loungey seating upstairs and a cigar bar downstairs. Admittedly I cannot take the smell of cigars so I always end up upstairs and can't speak to the lower level but the upstair is grand. They specialize in coffees, cocktails, and desserts here. Things change up seasonally but there are a few things that stay year round in some capacity (like their creme brûlée and warm chocolate cake). I personally love the change up because it forces me to try something different every time. I'm never disappointed! In the past I've had the creme brûlée (creamy, not too sweet, luscious with that lovely burnt sugar caramelization at the top proving crunch and some fresh berries to add a bit of tart) and the warm chocolate cake (is there anything better than molten dark chocolate? I don't think so). Yesterday I had the individual pumpkin pie which was a small tart with a pecan shortbread crust, a smooth pumpkin spiced center, and maple whipped cream on top. It was served with spiced sugar pecans and a bit of a burnt sugar candy with pistachios. Oh my goodness this was good. The real star, however, was my fella's dessert. An apple crisp topped with a house made cinnamon gelato, a dried apple slice and drizzles of late harvest raspberry coulis and a maple bourbon caramel. Oh good heavens. I loved my pumpkin pie but I sure was jealous when his showed up. Prices on the desserts are around $6-8 a pop which is pricey compared to most dessert places but the items here are fabulous and worth every penny. They also have the aforementioned cigars and bevvys include a variety of martinis, ports and dessert wines, top shelf bourbon and whiskey, scotch, and a menu of coffee drinks. My fella and I each ordered a cappuccino with our desserts and they came with a little rock candy stirrer. I held mine up to inspect it and our waiter said "it's like your a sugar wizard!" DAMN RIGHT. And I'll gladly come back again and again to flex my sugar skills!

Yelp
Best desserts in town. Get the ice cream/gelato/sorbet trio. Classic, simple choice. They have some specials that change with the seasons. My favorite thing to do is get the affogato but with the Bailey's cookies and cream gelato. One of the best value items on the menu, too!
google avatar

Lucille H.

Yelp
Beautiful food, classy place, kind service. Got the bananas foster upon recommendation and it was indeed delicious!

Sichen S.

Yelp
We love vanilla bean creme bulefee better! But the water is best ( too much sugar in cakes
google avatar

Saghar S.

Yelp
They have a cool cigar lounge. I enjoyed the cigars. But the desserts were not really tasty and they were too sweet.
google avatar

Jo G.

Yelp
Love, love, love this cozy place! La Dolce Vita has such a nice, well decorated and romantic. It's beautifully furnished and the chairs and couches are so comfortable. Perfect for dessert, a cigar, and some wine! Great spot for a date! The ambiance is so chill and although the cigar lounge is small they have a secondary location where you can have a bigger party. Otherwise it's just intimate gathering with your loved ones or anyone else who loves cool places.

Yelp
This is the place for an extravagant dessert in a luxurious setting, sharing the same entrance as The Chop House, next to Gratzi. The space is at the back of The Chop House and has a lounge vibe with low seats and tables. It is a fun place to people-watch and we did just that from the corner of our comfy banquette. Across from us were groups of friends enjoying a complicated and dazzling Spanish coffee, a couple celebrating an anniversary, and another group relaxing at the end of the evening. I had the blueberry tart which featured juicy, sweet blueberries on a sweet crust. The gelato was tart and sweet and the passion fruit sauce was bright and assertive. I loved the combination of fresh flavors. I also got to sample the House S'mores with the home-made sweet, buttery cookie, and the fluffy, torched marshmallow. The peach tart was also amazing, especially the streusel and crust. Yum. Pricing is slightly higher than other restaurant desserts, but well worth it for the innovative flavors. Our server was attentive and helpful.

Yelp
I went here for desert following my girlfriend's birthday dinner. I had heard great things from many of my friends who had gone before and wanted to go back sometime soon. We ordered 3 things: Crème Brûlée: This was exactly what I expected out of the restaurant. The custard was rich with vanilla flavor while being light and fragrant. The Brûlée was a little burnt but it did not take much away from the flavor and the overall experience of the dish. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for dish that will be a guaranteed hit. Overall, the dish was delicious and the flavors definitely were fantastic. Gelato and Sorbet: I only had a small taste of this but the friend that ordered it was raving about the sorbet and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Tiramisu: I ordered the tiramisu as it is my favorite Italian dessert. I was blown away with how flavorful it was and could not stop eating it. The dish was bursting with all of the classic flavors with the ladyfingers, the coffee, and the cocoa working together to create a fantastic dish. It was also very filling which was surprising to me. The service was fantastic and they even wrote happy birthday on my girlfriends dish which was a nice personal touch. Definitely place to visit if you are looking to have gourmet desserts.

Yelp
I don't know how I've lived in Ann Arbor for so long not knowing that this place exists! Seriously, a dessert restaurant?! That is 100% my thing! I was out for dinner with my friend and we weren't sold on the dessert menu at our restaurant, so she suggested coming down here. I'm so glad she did! We got the chocolate cake with Bailey's Cookies and Cream ice cream and the lemon bar. Lemon bars are my weakness. I crave them all the time. I will do anything for a lemon bar. And this one was SO GOOD. Ugh I dream of it. And don't even get me started on the Bailey's Ice cream. Yeah, the cake was good, but it couldn't even begin to compete with that ice cream. It was rich and delicious without being too much. I wish I could buy a pint of that and just eat it while binging TV shows on netflix. DELICOUS. I'm so sad that it took me so long to discover this place, but now that I have you can be sure I'll be here often.
google avatar

Hema K.

Yelp
Love the ambience of this place and all the desserts are to die for! It is a bit pricey and I'm not a huge fan of the lounge area (sometimes it's weird having to lean down to eat). But the service is always very nice. Overall, definitely a great place to treat yourself after a nice dinner -- or skip the dinner, and just splurge here!

Yelp
What a fun night! After a phenomenal dinner at the Chop House, our party headed over to La Dolce Vita for some dessert/drinks. The atmosphere is very charming, with all of the chairs and couches strategically arranged. I ended up ordering a drink - a Frostini. YUM! PInnacle chocolate vodka, peppermint schnapps, and Godiva chocolate liqueur. We also ordered a chocolate ganache cake, and a chocolate melt cake. Everything was incredibly tasty. Our cute, bouncy server was very prompt and did not rush us at all. We ended up staying there about 2 hours just talking and critiquing other strange looking patrons. La Dolce Vita is a fabulous way to end your evening out on the town. It's definitely a place where you'll want to dress up a bit and the items on the menu are a bit spendy, but it's completely worth it.
google avatar

Sherman T.

Yelp
Came here the other night for just dessert. They have a separate area for lounging with desserts, spirits, wine, and cigars. I hear their restaurant, Chop House, is quite exquisite. You may want to make reservations if you have a large party. Our waitress, Rebecca was very welcoming and knew her dessert menu extremely well. We wanted to hear her comments on the desserts and she gave us succinct notes about each one. We ended up ordering the hazelnut torte (triple layer caramel cake with thick chocolate mousse between each layer and a scoop of their intense coffee gelato). Both parts of the dessert were delicious. The plate was drizzled with chocolate and the cake and ice cream fed two comfortably. Just a kicker, everything is made fresh here.

Yelp
Fabulous place to sit and chat over coffee, dessert or drinks. LOVE that they have the upstairs option; away from the cigar smoke. Amazing that I couldn't even smell the cigars just up the stairs. I just wish they had a bathroom upstairs and didn't have to use the stair. The waitress was nice but a little clueless. Small seating areas and the cubbie we were in was a little uncomfortable to have one of us sitting in the aisle, at a table that at our knees. we snuggled into the banquette along the wall. You can't lounge in a dinner chair with no arms and the other chairs were taken. Boo - especially since we had out waiter reserve us a spot before dinner. The Creme Brulee was perfect. I had hot tea and the after dinner coffee was rich and bold. We will go again and maybe check out cigars and wine downstairs next time.

Yelp
We went here after a night on the town. Stopped here because our cab driver suggested this is a good spot for dessert and drinks after dinner. The downstairs lounge where we has dessert and drinks was the perfect atmosphere. Very quiet and private and the service was great. We ordered the apple crisps and brownie sundae with ice cream to share which was delicious. The apple crisp was a little bit better than the chocolate and the presentation was beautiful. I also got a Moscow mule which was delicious but a little disappointing it didn't come with with a copper cup. The bottle of champagne we got was as well delicious and the orange juice I got on the side was freshly squeezed and a great addition. Overall a great place and amazing for date night. Maybe next time we will actually go to dinner here and than go to dinner and drinks downstairs too!

Yelp
I went for late night desert trip with my girlfriends the other night. It was simply delicious! We all got different things. Mine in particular was a homemade candy bar with dulce de leche ice cream yumm!!! Definitely will come back + the ambience is really nice very much like an old school cigar lounge

Yelp
Don't get dessert at the restaurant you are eating in (unless you're already at Chop House or Gratzi). Come here. Chocolate Melt Cake: This is topped with Bailey's cookies and cream gelato aka delicious. If you like chocolate (why wouldn't you?), get this. Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee: Classic dessert. This is good every single time. You can do no wrong with creme brulee. Winter Trio (Seasonal): Chocolate peanut butter ball with bacon bits, chocolate caramel bar, s'mores cake. I wouldn't recommend this over the chocolate melt cake or creme brulee. 1. Chocolate Peanut Butter Ball with Bacon Bits: I should preface by saying I hate peanut butter so we got this on the condition that my friend had to eat this part. I tried some and it didn't make me dislike peanut butter any less. 2. S'mores Cake: Not that great. If you want s'mores, go to The Melting Pot and get their chocolate s'mores fondue. 3. Chocolate Caramel Bar: This tastes just like a Twixt bar. It is my favorite of the trio. I actually ended up getting it by itself during another visit.

Yelp
I loved this place! Found this place on Yelp and I just had to try it out. I like the interior. We sat in this lounge-like area. It had a fancy vibe but without the snobby servers. I had a hot chocolate (coffee makes me feel sick *sad face*), while the company I was with had their choice of coffee, from cappuccino to latte. The drinks were decent. The desserts though were pretty good! And I'm all about dessert. ;) They had a special trio of creme puffs the night we went. If I remember correctly, it was cookies & cream, strawberry shortcake, and espresso or something coffee-tasting. It was very tasty! We also shared a creme brulee among the 6 of us and it was pretty good too. I like the concept of this place. If I am ever in town again, I would definitely come back here!

Yelp
Chandler our server was great and personable. everything was clean and sanitized! Drinks were amazing and atmosphere was just right for the setting. 10/10 would recommend for a night out with friends or a date night!

Yelp
This is a really nice spot to stop for some dessert and coffee on a cold night. The ambiance is upscale and romantic. My biggest qualm would be that because it is located at the back of chophouse when you walk in you're directed to wait sort of in the middle of the dining floor by the stairs in order to be seated for dolce vita. We were seated within five minutes which was nice, but even then it's really awkward just hovering there in the middle of the restaurant while you wait. The coffees were pretty good. I ordered the Spanish coffee which is like a mini show, in that it is flambéed tableside. As an FYI though it is heavily spiced with cinnamon, too much for my tastes so I switched with my boyfriend. He had the French coffee which was perfect; not too much bite or liquor. In regards to dessert we got the chocolate decadence which was lovely, albeit a little heavy. Definitely would recommend sharing that dessert between two people. The blackberry sorbet it was served with was delicious though, the best I have ever had before. We also ordered the chai latte cake, which was really tasty. It has a velvety moose, as well as crunchy pieces and a moist cake so there's a lot going on but it works well! Finally in regards to service, it took a while for our waitress to come over and after that she never really seemed that attentive. Regardless the ambiance and dessert definitely make this place recommendation worthy!

Yelp
Again, the -1 stars is for the price. ;_; The desserts were great. Our waiter over at The Chop House set us up with a place over here, and between the five of us, we ordered a tiramisu, the chocolate melt cake, and the creme brulee, and ended up sharing them all. :D My favorite was the tiramisu (I tend to be biased, but it was amazing). There was a cigar lounge downstairs that one of my cousins was rather interested in, but majority ruled, so we stayed upstairs. The couches were really comfortable, although it got a little cold. (This is really my fault though.) The ambiance is definitely nice, and our waitress/the service in general was great. I have fond feelings for this place, mostly because of the awesome desserts and company, but also because this was the one and only place where I managed to get my credit card to the waitress. Score! ...Unfortunately, it was all in vain. My cousin grabbed it back and replaced it with his own. So close, yet so far. :[

Yelp
Totally loved the place!!! Something new coz i have not been to such an upscale place for Desserts!!!! Has very nice, cozy lounge kinda seating. The hostess will seat you depending on what you are there for, dessert or food. Sat night was a very busy night but we got seated immediately. We ordered a creme brulee, a tiramisu and a hazelnut cappucino. I must say everything we ordered was just so yummy n perfect!!! Even though our server forgot to bring our tiramisu and brought some other dessert instead. But upon bringing it to her notice, she immediately apologized and got us our Tiramisu!! Another thing we found fascinating is the way they put on a show while making the Irish coffee with flaming glass. It's awesome!! Since my first visit I've been there so many times and will continue in future too!! Get your sweet tooth wishes answered here!!!!!

Yelp
So... I went back again as I promise! This time we brought out own cigars.. but we didn't know if they would let us use their facility to do so. Regardless we went and ask the hostess nicely and said they didn't mind. Of course we ordered some nice 18 year old scotch... I am telling you guys.. I LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is ultra professional, if we needed anything.. they were right there.... LOVE IT!

Yelp
My friends and I went there for dessert to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were greeted very well and we mulled through the menu to decide which amazing looking treats we would have. While ordering, the host asked if we were celebrating - I was amazed that they did - most places don't bother. Then when our dessert came out, it had candles and happy birthday written on two of them!! How amazing and gorgeous! We hadn't expected this at all. And of course, the desserts were scrumptious and the portions were so big we couldn't finish them They have a warm and cosy and posh ambience - very inviting

Yelp
I have had a dessert or two in my lifetime that have made me say, "Wow, that's really good." I have had a dessert or two in my lifetime that make me say, "Holy sh*t, that is fricken delicious." Then, I have had the desserts that were blessed upon me at La Dolce Vita in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The first time ("first" meaning I have been here probably four times since my first visit) that I set foot in this fine eatery/cigar lounge it was in January of this year (2018) after one of the most stressful days of my life auditioning for the acting program at the University of Michigan. I was tense as the past, present, and future (ba-dum-tsss) and my mind was in a million different places at once. After the audition my dad and I went back to our hotel, took a long deserved nap, and woke up far later than we expected, but just in time for dinner. We drove into town and ate our meal at a pretty good tapas place, nothing too special but still tasty...then we searched for dessert. The first result that popped up on Yelp was the winner. La Dolce Vita--"the sweet life"--how could we resist. We strolled through a very quiet, atmospheric, frigid and festive Ann Arbor arrived at the restaurant. Walking through the door, we were welcomed by a comforting warmth and the nostalgic smell of a hint of cigar smoke and vintage furniture--bringing me back to my grandparents' house in Connecticut. Anyways, we sat down, took off our coats and were greeted by some fine folk who took our order. We got a couple affogatos and a chocolate decadence. I'm not kidding when I say that they were like, the best f***ing desserts I have EVER EATEN. They are INSANE. I'm not a big chocolate person but the chocolate decadence was ridiculous--lives up to it's name and then some. The sorbet on the side was refreshing with the rich-yet-light chocolate mousse filled cake. The affogato was so unique I swear on my grave even you don't fancy coffee you will want to f***ing drown yourself in this drink. It was so good I went on a three week long journey to track down the finest ingredients I could in order to recreate it...spoiler alert, I didn't get anywhere close to how phenomenal this dessert was. I'm not kidding when I say I was LAUGHING while eating these desserts because there was no other way I could express my genuine excitement/happiness. It sounds odd and frankly, maybe TOO enthusiastic...so lemme just say this: If you want sweet stuff after dinner in Ann Arbor, please go here. It's for your benefit(!).

Yelp
Desserts are great but a little overpriced. My favorite is the coffee with ice cream, it's literally the best dessert I have ever tried and I have tried a lot of desserts!

Yelp
Service was terrible. Felt both hurried by the server during our dessert. When we were trying to check out couldn't get server's attention. Then while leaving got body checked by a different server.

Yelp
Great place to come for an after dinner drink or a scrumptious dessert! I love the Spanish coffees and the presentation they do at the table for it is a lot of fun to. The Banana Fosters dessert is great, still working on others since the pastry chef left and the menu is different

Yelp
I love this place! It is so fancy! As soon as you walk in everything feels incredibly...decadent. It is dimly lit by lamplight and the surroundings are beautiful. I love the variety of seating - they have normal tables, but then further in the back there are chairs and couches and it's more of a loungey vibe. There are also a lot of little nooks, and I am all about nooks. There was a great variety of cocktails and they were reasonably priced for this kind of place. We shared a chocolate melt cake with cookies and cream bailey's gelato which is probably the best dairy based invention of today. I have to rave about the bathroom... I've never been in a bathroom that has a listerine pump with little cups - how cool! They also had lotion, yummy smelling soaps and real towels which I thought were a nice touch. The basement also has a cigar room and a fancy little room that I imagine wine tastings occur in. Overall - amazing

Yelp
Lauren, our waitress, was really great. She picked two great deserts for us (we asked her to choose) and she lit my BF's cigar properly which is a big deal. Ask for her. She's cute and sweet!
