La Encomienda

Very friendly place with delicious food! We were a group of 6 with only one vegan and everyone was very happy with the dishes! We tried almost the whole menu and it was all great, especially the brownie, the pad Thai, the croquetas and the ceviche 😊

Had dinner as a party of 10 people. Even the meat lovers enjoyed the food there and were very happy to discover vegan cuisine. We absolutely loved the raviolis, the garlic mushrooms and the croquetas ! A little less impressed with the gyozas but still very tasty. Extra shoutout to the pad Thai, our favorite unanimously. Very rich, savory and a quite a portion. I recommend this place big time !

I loved their food, but the service wasn’t good. I ordered lasagna with red cabbage and beyond meat burger, both were very delicious. Interior of the place can be improved. I didn’t like service because the waiter was weird. We came there early evening and were alone, there were not other visitors. We waited 10 min and waiter didn’t come so we took the menu by ourselves and read it. We called the waiter and she took the menu back because she didn’t like we took it ourselves and left us only one menu (for two people! When there were no people and all the menu paper were available). Than we made an order and call here again, than we needed her help several times and she never was in the room, she was always talking with a cook on the kitchen so we needed to go to the kitchen every time and she looked very annoyed, like we (basically her work) disrupted her from something important (her chatting). Looked she didn’t like her job, I hope no one forced her to work there.

We had the pleasure of dining at La Encomieda in October of 2025 from Canada. I would recommend booking a reservation and for a good reason, the food is delicious and it’s got a great vibe! Every dish we tried was outstanding, whether you’re vegan or not, you’ll love the food. One of our favourite vegan restaurants in Madrid.

Delicious food! So, so tasty. I can recommend the ravioli in particular. It's a cool, edgy, unassuming restaurant, with friendly and helpful staff, serving tasty food. We would have liked to try the entire menu, sadly this wasn't possible. If you are looking for great vegan food, this is your place!

My wife and I LOVE La Encomienda! The vibe is cool, the servers are super nice and were patient with my so-so Spanish and the food is excellent. We had the beet ravioli, potato croquettas and the veggie gyozas. So tasty, and everything is presented beautifully. If we were here even one more day we would definitely return. Go!

The food was very nice. The highlight were the Asian style croquetas. The olla gitana was very good too. We ordered two desserts and they weren't very good, we could barely finish them (cheesecake and avocado cream), they weren't bad either, just meh. They have some nice craft beers from Madrid.

Another fantastic vegan spot in surprisingly vegan-friendly Madrid. We stopped her for a leisurely lunch and were impressed by everything we had. We shared the Chickweed, marinated asparagus, breaded artichoke and Romesco sauce appetizer (€9) to start, a wonderfully curated dish with perfectly breaded and fried artichokes (not too oily), impeccably marinated asparagus and some leaves (chickweed), with a fantastic Romesco sauce. Fantastic starter. Then we shared two mains -- the Bolognese Lasagna (€13) and Shimenji Mushooms Long Sandwich (€12.5). The lasagna was extremely decadent, smothered in smoked bechamel sauce -- the inside had seitan, some veggies, a passata (tomato) sauce, and served with some parmesan-like crackers. This was almost a bit too over-the-top, but in small amounts (split between two of us), it worked well. The sandwich was simple but excellent -- wonderfully textured shimenjis carry this dish, along with the vegan garlic mayo, fresh arugula and tomato. The bread was fresh and fluffy too. Very friendly service. Great place to hang out and enjoy a long, leisurely meal. Highly recommended.

The food here was so incredible. Didn't know what to expect, but each dish that we had started with the little sampler they provide when they give you drinks was so flavorful. Their ravioli, the beet Ravioli, were soft and scrumptious. The pad Thai was so savory but in a good way, and an unexpected but delightful way.

This place is amazing! I am not vegan/vegetarian. But I came with a vegan and vegetarian to accommodate their dietary needs. And this food is just impeccable. Simple, basic, rich yet complex. I had the menu of the day. For just €12.50. For starters, there was a scramble tofu, just so rich in Delicious seasonings. Then for the main course I had grandma's lentils. Hearty and deep. And the Keylime dessert with a cream made of sunflower oil! The drink was watermelon water with cardamom. Give this place a try!

Very tasteful, surprising. The cabbage cannelloni are a must. Good selection of beers.

Lovely place, I want to steal a little rock they put on the table, but I don't Perfect space for vegan and vegetarian if you are looking for something delicious you need to visit La Encomienda and they are ecological too.

If I could give 3.5 stars I would... Firstly, make a reservation for dinner. I didn't know I needed one, and while the restaurant was not busy it seemed to be an issue to seat me without one. The Vietnamese rolls were plated on some sauce. This made the rolls soggy. The peanut dipping sauce on the side was very thick and needed some chili or soy because it tasted only of peanut butter. I ordered the berry cheesecake which was fantastic. 5 stars for the dessert!

Great vegan restaurant, hipster and all the pad Thai was deliciously. They have craft local beers!

Omg. Most amazing plant based food!!! I liked it because we didn't eat any "fake meats" it was all just plants and it was delicious. The drinks are so cheap and delicious- organic wine yes please! The service is SO friendly. Perfect spot for date night! Great ambiance. As a healthy vegan, this place hit the spot.
