Joe Beef’s Little Italy Wine Bar Earns Glowing First Review | Eater Montreal

"With a rustic décor of wooden accents and an open central kitchen where guests can watch the chefs, I find La Fabrique’s slightly elevated French bistro cooking hearty and earthy even nine years on: a pea soup with cream and maple is deeply tasty, and inventive touches like a potato salad with marinated mackerel are admirable. Some plates can feel heavy—foie gras ravioli with fried sweetbreads, for example—but overall I approve of the creative, tasty approach and the convivial presentation; patrons are invited to bring their own wine and beer." - Tim Forster

We enjoyed a wonderful brunch at La Fabrique. We were a group of six people and were able to book a table just a few days in advance. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered several dishes and coffees, and everything was very tasty and satisfying.

We had the most wonderful brunch at Le Bistrot La Fabrique this Sunday and it could not have been more perfect! • The service was impeccable, extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Michel, our server, was amazing, and every staff member we interacted with was equally kind and welcoming. We truly felt special. • The food was delicious and pure indulgence , beautifully presented and full of flavor. We sat on the patio on a gorgeous Sunday morning, with blue skies above and rue Saint-Denis buzzing with life. The atmosphere was just perfect. • And the personal touch of bringing out a glass filled with bright pink cotton candy with a candle for our friend’s birthday was the sweetest, most whimsical surprise to end the meal. Thank you for making the occasion feel so special. • A true gem, we will definitely be back!

We just had our office christmas party at La Fabrique in the Annexe. There was 31 of us, family style, private room where we could be as loud as we wanted without disturbing other guests. Service was attentive, and supportive (thank you Sarah for all your hard work in preparation and night of). Food was good, came out fast and in large amounts, all the systems for tracking who was ordering which drinks were set up in advance and the evening went splendid. Would recommend for an event of this size

My girls picked this beautiful spot for a birthday brunch, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the food was absolutely incredible. The pancakes were perfectly soft and fluffy, and the apple sauce was delicious — such a great combo! Our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. A wonderful place for brunch — I highly recommend it!

I should start by saying that my wife thought she was just being dragged into another greasy spoon to watch me devour pancakes. To my immense good fortune, this place absolutely knocked it out of the park with her. She was delighted. This is a great date spot. Everything we had was fresh and delicous. It was also beautiful. My wife is not the type to photograph her food but everything looked like it was made for Instagram. Service was very European and professional. The menu forces you to choose between very savory or very sweet with little offering both. A pet peeve of mine with Montreal breakfast spots. Seating is a little weird and reservations are definitely reccomended. There are plenty of great little 2 top and 4 top tables, nicely spaced out. Then there is the long sofa thing against the wall where you are quite literally elbow to elbow with your neighbors. More concerning, there is a giant common table holding something like 10 people. If this was all they had, I'm afraid I would leave, regardless of how good the food is. I am not down with common tables in restaurants and wish this fad would die off asap. We really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back.

Delicious brunch!! We had the donuts to start (should have had these for dessert instead). Followed up with the ham brioche and scrambled eggs with Mexican beans. Impeccable, attentive service. Will definitely come back!

Celebrated my birthday there and it was absolutely wonderful! The food was definitely the highlight, the ambiance was 10/10, the drinks are the only thing they could improve, the one with cachaca should have lime for a punch! The deserts were perfect too! Definitely recommend this restaurant!

A nice and cozy spot. It’s great that they accept reservations, but the seating for two was quite tiny. The food was decent overall — we tried the beef tartare and the pancakes with thick-cut bacon. The pancakes paired nicely with the sweet sauce and the salty bacon, and the beef tartare was well-mixed with their house spices. The coffee was a bit of a letdown, though. Both the latte and cappuccino tasted like they came straight from a machine — wouldn’t recommend them.
