La Farine Pâtisserie et Café

Nice cafe. I can use casual sometimes studying. Coffee is good, beans from Sweetleaf. Love it. Bake good are amazing, croissant good, sandwich also beautiful taste! I love omelet sandwiches, they taste truffle and a pinch of sour. Every food is good but needs to spend money. I paid around $40 for two sandwiches and two drinks. Recently normally in Manhattan. Good cafe staff, they are very friendly! Restroom always clean.

The bakery initially caught our attention with its cleanliness, even though it doesn’t have a sign yet. However, there was a strange smell inside, which didn’t quite match what you’d expect from a bakery. The chocolate babka looked more appealing than the other desserts, but it turned out to be dry and overly sweet — easily three times sweeter than it should be. On the positive side, they offer fresh mint tea, which is a nice touch, but the coffee was below average. There’s seating available on both the first and second floors, with more space upstairs, although many tables were occupied. Overall, it was an okay experience.

For almost $5, the baguette is way too small and overly dense. It lacks the airy texture a good baguette should have. Additionally, the sourdough taste is still too strong, which isn’t normal for a proper baguette. You might want to revisit the recipe and process, particularly the proofing time for the dough and sourdough starter. The shaping seems fine, but the baguette just doesn’t rise enough during baking. There’s definitely room for improvement! Please let me know if you change the recipe I would be happy to try again.

La Farine Patisserie et Cafe is absolutely beautiful. The owners did a wonderful job designing the menu and the cafe. I felt like I was in an art gallery as I stepped into the patisserie, surrounded by the pleasant smell of baked goods. The craftsmanship of the pastries is top notch. The staff and team of bakers were very welcoming and professional. One of the best bakery I’ve tried and a lovely new gem in our UWS neighborhood. My family enjoyed their latte, Americano, Pain au Chocolate, Almond Croissant, chocolate babka, cheese cake, Chocolate chip cookies, and autumn salad. My favorite is the almond croissant because it’s very unique - with a lovely sweet creamy filling inside. The cheese cake was very moist. All the baked goods were so fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back for more!

This place is a fantastic bakery! 🥧 La Farine Pâtisserie et Café on the UWS 🗽 offers an endless amount of delicious 🤤 pastries 🥐, bread 🍞, sandwiches 🥪, cookies 🍪, and baked goods! 🥖 Definitely try the Challah Knot. 🪢 Service is quick ⏲️ and the staff 👨‍🍳 is friendly and welcoming! They have lots of indoor seating 🪑 across two floors. Ambience 🎶 is great and the place is beautifully decorated. 🛋️ I wish I came here more often!

So many delicious baked goods to choose from! The black pepper croissant puck was easily the best I’ve ever had, but the savory focaccia stole the show for me. I’ll absolutely be returning later this week!

A lovely place! I came here when they first opened and was told that they didn’t have decaf, disappointing. I tried again today: they don’t have brewed decaf, but can make a decaf Americano and other non-brewed drinks. And it was terrific. A friendly, relaxed vibe, and a nice place to sit and hang out. Only reason I’m giving them 4 stars: so expensive! More $$ than Starbucks, or other local places.

Their croissants are the best I've had in a long time - perfectly flaky and buttery! The staff is super friendly and attentive. The interior design is beautiful and cozy, To top it all off, they play great music; they were playing Stromae when I got my order.

La Farine is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and courteous and the baked goods are outstanding. Highlights for me are the baguette, olive sourdough, black pepper croissant and pain au chocolat. The babka loaf also make an excellent dinner party gift in a pinch. Their hours are generous and have even been open on holidays. Get there early though they will sell out of their best pastries!

This bakery has a charming appearance with a friendly, efficient staff. The ambiance is noisy but tolerable. Their star item is the crispy crust French baguette, with the mini-baguette served with butter and jam being particularly delightful. I cannot say much about their espresso but their regular coffee is a complete disappointment, lacking in taste or sufficient heat to accommodate even a drop of milk. Just as disappointing were the overpriced Mushroom Feuilleté and Feta Cheese & Peppers dishes. All in all- Worth the visit.

is good, and the service friendly. The pastries are good, what you would expect from a place like this. However, the for me is the ambience, noise level, and most of all, lack of ventilation. It always seems to leave a smell on me when I leave!

The challah used to be the best I'd ever had but the quality has sadly declined significantly. I don't know what changed but it seems like they decided to go with a different recipe. Now the challah is tasteless and over baked. Please bring back the original recipe!

Excellent coffee and very good pastries + sandwiches. Nice atmosphere and plenty of small tables for 2 on the 2nd floor.

Beautiful space with surprisingly disappointing food. Croissant and Fuillette, despite looking lovely, were sadly more bread than pastry. Perhaps the layers are simply too thick? The coffee is good, however.

Great new addition to the neighborhood. Super high quality baked goods and coffee. Could use a few more prepared options for lunch and changing how the ordering queue works, but those are easy to overlook.

Pain d'epices (gingerbread) was clearly stale.. if I lived closer I would march it right back and possibile throw it over the counter LOL. A serious disappointment.

Great croissants and coffee. Nice atmosphere. Prices high but not out of line for neighborhood. Staff still a bit green--need to be able to serve more quickly and efficiently. And they should have jam for the croissants!

Very bright, pretty spot and the service was nice and quick. I got an almond croissant and the croissant itself was good, but the almond paste is very nontraditional, darker brown than typical with little pieces of almond. I love almond croissants and get them all over the city. This one was not for me but will be back to try something else.

This place is EXCELLENT. Possibly my favorite babka i've ever had. Lovely space. I also really enjoyed the black pepper croissant.

Food and service good. Ambiance very nice but acoustically not very good. Echos throughout the building, cannot hear and need to talk loudly across the table to hear the other people and others can hear your conversation from tables around you. Not a relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing staff! They are so warm and talented. Great coffee and so cozy. The only things that would make this place better are a kosher certification and unsweetened almond milk.

This is just what the Upper West Side needs! A beautiful space for coffee and phenomenal salads, pastries and breads. Lovely staff, too! La Farine is the new best thing and destined to become a staple of NYC.

i am usually NOT a black coffee drinker but oh my goodness their brew is just so tasty. the baked goods are all so fresh and delicious, and the staff is so kind and helpful. the upstairs seating area is also gorgeous!
