I am one of those who read the comments of the places, and I can say that very few speak badly of this place. Not everyone has the same experience, but I will tell you mine. I visited the restaurant twice because they cook very well. The food has an excellent seasoning, the portion for a person who eats a lot is perfect, and moderate. But if you are a light eater, one lunch is enough for 2. The restaurant says so, La Fe, I can attest that the food here is delicious. And because of the language, the girls who work there are probably not fluent in English, which may have confused those who say they were treated with racism. At least in my experience the service was good. Just a recommendation, it would look nicer inside with new tables and a little more decoration. The rest is excellent.

My coworker bought me lunch from here. You get great portion sizes here. Two meals were $21. Cant beat that. The rice and beans with stew meat and beans and fried plaintains were amazing. I highly recommend the chicharron!!! They deliver on time to.

The service is good. The ladies are nice, but the food is made too many days ahead leaving you to have to eat all u buy that same day or it'll be spoiled a few hours later or the next day. Even in the fridge. Sorry LaFe, not gonna lie.

Nasty! I use to love it but it is nasty. I drove over 2 hours from my Atlantic City visit just to get it and it was over priced and disgusting. The lady that served me chopped the damn 1/4 chicken up with the tongs and turned it into a shredded mess. I come to Paterson once every 3 years or so just to get LA FE but I will not be going back. 0 stars I do not recommend.

The best mofongo around. We had to wait to come back to Jersey to get this. No where else can you find it better than here!

Got the steak and onions took one bite and had to throw it out. Tasted old and sour. Absolutely disgusting. Not to mention my husband picked up two dinners and they only gave him one and he had to go all the way back.

Food is good but EXPENSIVE! I got two small lunches of chicken white rice and maduros and two drinks and paid 39$! The spot is a little hole in the wall so not a place you'd want to eat, but someone's grandma is cooking in the kitchen for sure.

Authentic Dominican comfort food, drinks, desserts and more at amazingly affordable prices. Food is fresh due to the magnitude of daily customers, ready to be served. They deliver and offer catering. I can’t forget to mention their friendly staff. My rating is one star short due to lack of parking and a private dinning area.

I worked at this restaurant many years ago. The owners are good people and food is always delicious and same sazon!

Easy on the salt food is good but too much seasoning salt love it tho but can't enjoy the taste that's it

Food is always good. Portions are what to be expected. Staff is helpful as possible despite the area.

This place isn't the nicest place nor in the best neighborhood but it's definitely a hidden gem with some of the best authentic PR/DR around

I've been eating at this restaurant since I was in 8th grade. Very clean place and the food is AMAZING. Dominican food at its best with all the right "sazones!". I've eaten at this place 100+ times and do not understand the reviews of the first timers. It is obvious that these people are probably direct competitors to La Fe.

HORRIBLE customer service. Very rude to African American customers. & they purposely gave me the wrong amount of change back from a $20. My food came out to roughy 8 dollars and she only gave me around $6 back. Once I went outside and counted my money & realized that she short changed me, I went back..she looked at me for a moment and handed me extra money back without saying a word. Good food but the poor customer service and long wait times aren't worth it.

one of my favorite places to eat in paterson only 5 mins from my house, and they always give you a lot portion wise for only $5.25 for a small order. delicious food, and the people are always so kind.

Ordered on DoorDash. They hike the prices up and downsize the portions. What I received was not what was ordered. It doesn't matter if you go to the restaurant or order online their customer service leaves much to be desired. I give up...I'll NEVER spend another thin dime here.

even after the reviews i still decided to go but the food was nasty there mangu breakfast wasnt good at all and the jugo of passion fruit was so nasty omg im so mad i spent my money on that the only reason i went because mama elenas in passaic didnt have breakfast if you want real dominican go to them in passaic

I've been eating at La Fe for more than 7 years now and the food is amazing! The portions they give are huge and the prices aren't expensive. I recommend trying the Chicharrón and the Mangu, they are so good and the Ensalada Mixta is the Bomb! The place gets lots of people during he holidays and they take pernil orders for people who don't want to bother with it. The pernil is yummy and a lot but make sure to order it about a week in advanced so you get one (they go really fast)!

I don't understand the other review this place is Bomb.com every time I go their im always treated great and the good is Awsome. I guess you can't please everyone

I had food from this place one day and had food poisoning which had me sick for a week and in the hospital. I mentioned that I got sick from a food joint in Paterson and a buddy of mine (without me telling him) asked if I happened to eat at La Fe. This place needs to be shut down. I called to file a complaint with the health department. I also work with Andre V. and a group of people at our job ordered and all got sick. The wrath of the gods came shooting out of my anus after I ate at this place. Stay away!! You have been warned.

One of the worst places to order food from ever! One Star is too good for them, This is a reason to have negative star ratings! No one place has made more people at my job sick than this. Beware, Avoid, Don't even proceed with caution, if you see it don't walk just run away. In other words...its not very good.

This place is absolutely disgusting! The service sucks, the chicken dry, and the beans come with hair. The health department should shut this place down

I just had the rice con Gandules and baked chicken... I was very happy with the service place is clean very nice people... I felt like I was back in the motherland... the food is very good home cooked meal is what they give you. I was very satisfy I'll be returning asap...

This restaurant is not sanitary. My mother bought some food from there on 3/14/10 and we all got food poisoning. My mom said the restaurant kitchen looked dirty but since she was with a friend who recommended it she felt bad and gave them the benefit of a doubt. I placed a status update on facebook about my food poisoning in this Dominican restaurant and one of my friends commented if I bought it at La Fe. I work for AT&T in Paramus and colleagues at my job have ordered from La Fe became very sick. This place is notorious for selling old expired food and cases of food poisoning. I contacted the sanitation department and they are going to be investigating. I have hospital discharge papers stating that we suffered from food poisoning. By the way my whole family had different dishes from the restaurant. Let that marinate.

This place is good to eat in i think what the others mean is either because it was a long time. Or they are haters

I don't get the bad reviews though I notice they are pretty old, maybe the place has changed hands since then, cause our office orders food from here almost every week and none of us have ever gotten sick. The food is delicious, I love their pernil. I've never been to the restaurant itself so I got nothing to say there but on the phone they are nice and delivery is pretty quick.
