Wonderful experience all around! The pork chop was by far the best we ever had, cut like filet mignon and so juicy. The roast chicken was also cooked to perfection. The Lyonnaise salad was tangy and delicious with the perfect poached egg. We tried 3 different cocktails and each was unique and flavorful with fabulous presentation. The ambience is stunning and reason enough to visit! I will be frequenting for the pork alone because it was that good. Definitely recommend! Dare I say the best food in Wilmington?

We had a top notch meal at La Fete tonight! We started with a variety of cocktails, that all perfectly captured the essence of their names. The Ultima Palabra is a play on the classic Last Word and immediately stole my heart. For starters we had the bread and fois gras mousse, both of which had unique flavors that set them apart from your typical restaraunt. We shared the duck for two, and it was perfectly cooked with a DELICIOUS savory spice blend (that they grind in house!). If you’re looking for a special meal, this is the place. It was full on a Thursday night until closing, so reservations recommended! There is a separate bar menu with smaller plates, if the full menu doesn’t suit your taste but the cocktails do! Patio looks like it will be delightful for warmer weather. I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight the service. From the front desk, to the bar, to the servers and hosts, we were treated like the most important people in the room from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Really something special.

Visited opening night and had one of the best meals of my life! The Ravioles du Dauphiné, Pommes Frites, and Pommes Dauphiné were all incredible starters. The bread and butter (house-made sourdough) was soooooo good too! The pork chop entree was fantastic, perfectly cooked. The cocktail menu is interesting as well, with cocktails from throughout a variety of eras plus around 8 or 9 contemporary cocktails. The restaurant itself was BEAUTIFUL, great date night or chill hang venue that you can dress up for but casual is also fine. Highly recommend visiting!

My husband and two dear friends dined here on Sunday evening and had an amazing experience. The service was quite attentive, the food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were quite flavorful! My one friend and I shared the branzino and it melted in my mouth. It is a shared dish, and came with roasted tomatoes and a light lemon cream. The lentil salad for the table was very nice, and the frites were perfect. My husband and our other friend ordered the pork chops, but they are nothing like any pork chops I’ve ever had. They were so tender and flavorful. We will definitely be back!

Google
First time at this place and based on reviews we really had high expectations. The food was good. If you are looking for a steak, this is not a steak house i would go to. Bardea Steak or Snuff Mill in the area are much better. The steak here was appropriately cooked, but over salted and lacked flavor. The sauce, that came with it was excellent. (Good steak should not be eaten with a sauce, but i guess it’s a french thing.) Chicken was cooked well. Gnocchi and mussels were excellent. Drinks were good. Service was mixed. They made great effort, but i think fell short. When we sat down, we saw something that looked like chocolate mouse with french fries, which is a a brilliant idea. We told the waiter we are definitely getting that. We ordered chocolate mouse, but got a “brick”of chocolate. The item that we saw wasn’t even on the menu. It was a “secret” item and there was no way for us to know that it wasn’t the chocolate mouse that was on the menu. They did offer to bring it, but since everything took extremely long we declined. Overall this place is 4.6 at best, has potential, but i am not returning any time soon.

Google
What a fantastic restaurant! Could not recommend enough. Elegant decor and such a nice outside seating area. The service staff was friendly and knowledgeable, our server (Christina) basically chose everything we ordered for us. The cocktail program was fantastic, each drink more delicious than the last. I had to get 2 pornstar martinis because I couldn’t resist. The ravioli was to die for (get two orders not one), the beef tartare was perfect, salmon fantastic. For the main we shared the steak for 2 and boy was it decadent! Creamy rosemary potatoes with some glazed figs on the side then a crepe cake to finish off the meal. We’ll be back again, this was a complete gem!

Google
The gnocchi was so incredibly delicious. It was like biting into little clouds. The salmon rilletss were good and so were the prawns. Definitely up to the standard of a place like that. The crepe and the sauce poured all over was so good My only complaint is that it was just a smidge too loud.

Google
We loved it! 💚 Traveled from Philly just to eat here, and it was absolutely worth the trip. The space is beautiful, the food outstanding, and the service excellent. The cocktail list is both amazing and extensive! Highlights included the branzino (with perfectly crispy skin), the divine corn ravioli, the salade verte, and the tomato burrata salad. The house-made Old Bay rub on the prawns was incredible—and of course, the fries were a must. For dessert, the chocolate mousse with freshly baked madeleines was pure heaven 🤤, plus a special off-menu treat… if you know, you know. 😉 We can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
Just popped in for a drink and a quick bite at the bar. Atmosphere is wonderful, but kind of loud for intimate conversation. Staff was busy so maybe that's why there was a lack of personability. The amuse-bouche was seasonal, but I've never been given a sip versus a bite. Would love to come back and try more food options as the drink was a little disappointing. Pictures are What I was hoping to get in a drink and what I got...

Yelp
Love the atmosphere. Food and service is top notch. They even went and extra step and gave us a personal anniversary card. Love how well grained and knowledgeable the wait staff is. Already went back again. Great addition to Wilmington.

Yelp
Service was excellent. We were a little cold sitting by the bar because the partition was down to allow outdoor patio seating, so they turned up the heat for us. They wished me Happy Birthday upon arrival and gave me a birthday card! The decor is so beautiful and elegant. Even the restroom. It certainly brings an upscale feel. Next time I would like to sit at the semi circle booth tables. You need more than a party of three for those. My favorite dish was the Beef Tartare, Foie Gras Mousse, and Glazed Carrots. I would go back to have the Beef Tartare again, and try the Oysters and Dry-Aged Duck. The Porn Star Martini was delicious. Their drink menu has a lot of variety. I would definitely like to try more on the menu.

Yelp
I really want to love this place, and I'm hoping they're just working through some new-restaurant hiccups, but I felt generally meh about both my experiences at La Fete so far. The highlights: - Love the vibe and decor here, definitely a great atmosphere for date night or girls' night - Extensive cocktail menu sorted by cocktail era. I was thrilled to find a Jack Rose, one of my favorites, and La Fete's rendition was delightful. They also offer several mocktails and low ABV drinks, several of which my friends enjoyed - The Ratatouille appetizer. Perfection. The entrees I've tried were fine. Salmon has a nice crispy skin with a lemony couscous that was a solid choice. Friends enjoyed their steak frites. I didn't love their fall themed gnocchi; I was surprised to find that all of the gnocchi were fried. I also wished that the butternut squash played a stronger role. But the biggest concern? The service, though very friendly and helpful, was incredibly slow. My first dinner took 3 hours and I never even really had a chance to order a second cocktail (in part because I was worried I'd hold the whole group up waiting for it). On my second trip, we were more efficient in ordering and skipped dessert and still spent over 2 hours there. I did enjoy catching up with friends, but definitely would never try to book here for dinner before any other scheduled obligation. Overall, I'll try eating here again, but going to give it some time first.

Yelp
I'm happy this new spot came to Wilmington. It's nice to have "Fine Dining" options close to home. I've been a couple of times now and really enjoy the beverage and food offerings. Overall, the service is pretty solid but always falls off a cliff at the end. Takes forever for the team to ask if you'd like dessert/after dinner drinks (they sometimes ask, sometimes don't), and takes a while to get the check. Both times our party was just sitting looking around wondering when it would come. Especially when coming for special occasions, it becomes awkward. This place can definitely be great, I like what they're going for but the service should be more prompt for the price. I look forward to seeing how they grow into sometime truly excellent.

Yelp
We went to La Fete for the second time this past Friday evening. Parking lot and restaurant was packed which is nice to see. We had a much better experience overall - great server (Elliot?) who was full of conversation and instilled confidence in his abilities. Meal was great.

Yelp
La Fete is my new favorite spot for an upscale date night. Vibes are great. Extensive cocktail and wine list. Server was knowledgeable and guided us through the menu. Oysters were a little overpowered by the rose. Sourdough was wonderful. Duck and carrots were cooked perfectly. Loved the for two menu items. Had THE BEST leftovers. Need to go back and try the rest of the wonderful desserts- chocolate mousse was rich and lemon Madelines were warm and delicious.

Yelp
La Fête was an outstanding dining experience all around. I will touch on a few key points that made it stand out. I will also mention a few hiccups I noticed, but being such a new restaurant it was expected. First, I will talk about the atmosphere of the place. The restaurant was gorgeous. Lots of wide open space and minimal use of any walls. You could see the bar, kitchen pass and most of the tables. There were live plants and beautiful tile floors when you walked in. The silverware was very nice and all the dishes were unique and beautiful. Lots of uses of the color green and gold with some wood accents. Felt very relaxing, but elegant inside. Upon entering you are greeted by the hostess and what I assume is the GM Scott. Scott was a very pleasant guy. He was welcoming and warm. He had a firm handshake and great eye contact. Scott made you feel comfortable and like he could handle any issue you may encounter in your meal. Next, I will touch further on the service. Scott greeted us and seated us, then handed us over to Brandon and Carly. Brandon was a pleasure. What an energetic, kind and hardworking person. He clearly loves his job and hospitality. He helped me navigate the massive, but super unique and fun cocktail menu. The cocktails are split up by different eras with a few from each represented. Then they have their own house made cocktails with their own twists. Brandon helped all of us pick the perfect drinks. He took very good care of us. Carly was fantastic. She is a lovely young lady and has a great confidence. She explained the menu thoroughly and made wonderful suggestions. Both her and Brandon helped my guest avoid dishes and drinks containing pectin. She provided quick and efficient service. She made sure we always had water or anything we needed. Carly and Brandon together were a dream team! Now onto the food. We ordered the entire hot app menu to share and added on the salmon rillette. We also ordered the entire dessert menu to share. Everything we tried tasted fantastic. I will touch on a few standout dishes. Chef Kyah who made all the desserts and bread, did an unbelievable job. She killed it across the board. Made for the end of the meal to end on a high note! 1. Bread and Butter, the spelt sourdough was lovely. Nice crust and chew. The brioche was soft and melted in your mouth. The butter was amazing with the little bit of blue cheese mixed in! 2. Charbroiled prawns. Out of this world good. Big meaty and sweet prawns. Great char and seasoning. Sucking the head is my favorite, thanks for leaving the heads on! 3. Escargot Vol au Vent. First time trying escargot and I really enjoyed them. Soft and tender with a mild sweet flavor. The pastry and sauce were nice. 4. Moules frites. My favorite dish of the night. The mussels were sweet, tender and plump. The sauce was so bright and acidic. Dipping the crispy salty fries in that bright sauce was outstanding. What a treat! 5. Ravioles du Dauphiné. Second favorite dish of the night. One giant ravioli made up of little baby raviolis. It was unique and tasty. The corn filling was sweet as could be and I absolutely loved it! 6. Pommes Dauphiné. These were amazing. Crispy and soft inside. Tons of flavor. Reminded me of a smiley fry but 100x better! 7. Orange Crepe Cake. My second favorite dessert of the night. Tender and delicious while remaining light. Nice orange curd flavor and the marscarpone whip was smart. Very nice dish. 8. Chocolate Sorbet. My favorite dessert of the night. I love sorbet and chocolate sorbet was absolutely killer. Smooth and lucious. It had some salt sprinkled atop. Nice touch. Loved it so much! 9. Chocolate Mousse. Yum! This was rich and delicious. The madelines were a nice touch and played well with the cold mousse. 10. Raspberry Tart. This was fantastic. Buttery crust that melted in your mouth. Tart raspbery filling that played well against the meringue. Really enjoyed this one. Finally, to touch on some hiccups. We came on a Monday for a 6pm reservation and there were 3 of us total. They had 1 bartender working and we waited sometimes over 15 minutes for a drink. The service overall was fairly slow. We ordered 8 hot apps, 1 side, 1 cold app, and 6 desserts. They split it into 3 drops of food plus the dessert drop. We left just after 9. I felt a 3 hour dinner was far too long. Hopefully as staffing increases these wait times will decrease. Also the spaghetti alla chitarra looked a bit like mush. The parm on top was melted over as if it sat under the heat lamp far too long. That dish was disappointing as the flavor was there, but the presentation and execution were lacking. All in all, La Fête was a great dining experience and we will be back to experience them again as they hit their stride and the menu changes with the seasons. Good luck La Fête and go try them out!

Yelp
We had a 5:15pm reservation but got there early (super early birds) and went to the bar for a drink. Everyone was very welcoming. Our bartender was very friendly and made us delicious drinks. We transferred over to our table, ordered 4 apps and the Branzino for 2. Brandon + Marcos were excellent and very efficient. Prawns with the heads (3) accompanied with a sauce on the side was very good (wished there was one more). Foie Gras - delicious, although bread could have been toasted a little more. Ratatouille with pancakes were superb and the star of the evening was the escargot with pastry puff. We were practically full after the appetizers but somehow made room for the Branzino served table side because it was so darn delicious. I did have two tiny bones in a bite but I didn't mind it much. All of the drinks & food was amazing and we will definitely return. It was a great date night and La Fête exceeded my husband's expectations (he was very reluctant to going) & I was very happy with our dinner experience. Excited to see a restaurant of this caliber without having to go downtown Wilmington or Philly. It's such a beautiful restaurant with a fun/eclectic vibe.

Yelp
La Fete is a delightful addition to the mostly dull dining options in North Wilmington. When you enter the restaurant you instantly can see the new owners have put a significant amount of energy into renovating the building to curate a sophisticated experience for customers. Everything feels well thought out and is well executed. This is true for the service, menu, and food as well. The staff we knowledgable, professional, and helpful. Ever morsel of food was exceptional and the cocktails were meticulously crafted by expert hands.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Walking into the restaurant the ambiance gives you a comforting and welcoming vibe with a definite upscale and class. The service was amazing, we had the pleasure of meeting Grace who made great recommendations of wine and drinks to pair with our apps and entrees. My partner dropped her silverware and within seconds a new one was on its way! We began with the oysters which were recommended by Grace and definitely a must have. They were the perfect size, because when it comes to oysters size matters. The beef tartar was the best I've had, and I always order the beef tartar wherever available. For entrees the chicken was amazing a perfect choice, crispy skin texture and meat was juicy and tender. We also had the ravioli and ratatouille paired with Mexican firing squad cocktail and a glass of white wine. Dessert was chocolate mousse which is a must go to for chocolate fans! With the addition of French fries with ice cream to dip, and raspberry cheesecake. Cant wait to go back, Thanks Grace for the recommendations! 10/10

C A.

Yelp
True to a French experience, the ambiance is fantastic. We sat at the open bar and enjoyed the excitement of drinks while watching the bartenders work. Our back was towards a warm fireplace on the patio even on a brisk October night. The food was full of flavor. We jumped through time periods with beverages.

Yelp
Food. Service. Ambiance. Casual elegance. Wine selection. Loved the dishes for two. Great place to enjoy with a group of friends.

Yelp
100% thumbs up! You will recognize staff from all the better restaurants of Wilmington that have jumped ships to hop aboard this truly lovely addition to Wilmington de dining . Food , service and Vibe are all on point ! They have only been opened one week but well on track for great years ahead . A must try !

Susan S.

Yelp
Dined lastnight at La Fete - the food is outstanding. We tried the prawns, red snapper crudo, and salad Lyonnaise. The mains were all a 10 (4 of us had halibut, steak frites and cote de boeuf). It felt more like a Greenwich Village bistro than a spot in north Wilmington. Superb!
google avatar

Ambrose G.

Yelp
This is an all around great restaurant that's as good if not better than the downtown offerings. I stopped in on Sunday afternoon before going downtown to a concert. The team ( Brandon and Carly) was attentive, had command of the menu and could provide detailed info regarding ingredients, chef's intent in pairings and overall feedback from previous customers. The interior is fresh and provides a great backdrop for a delicious meal. My steak was a perfect medium and the "Frites", fried in beef tallow, made for a memorable meal that I'd gladly return for. My partner's Tomahawk pork chop was equally deserving of an encore. We started our meal with the dressed oysters that had a unique citrus flavor that was truly unexpected but delicious. We completed our meal with the Crepe Cake Suzzette and raspberry tart accompanied by a freshly brewed cup of fine coffee. I wanted to know their source for the coffee but neglected to ask. Please support this gem on the Concord Pike stretch. You won't be disappointed..

Yelp
The restaurant was awesome! The food was great! The service was excellent. The ambiance was amazing. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
La Fete is good. Really good. Like, outstanding. You walk in the door and leave the outside world behind. We were greeted by Scott, a co-owner, and ushered to a corner table, to be greeted by serving team Carly and Tory, both friendly and knowledgeable. From beginning of craft cocktails through courses of Spaghetti all Chitarra, Salad Lyonnaise, and shared entrees of dry aged steak/ seared halibut, you weren't eating a meal, you were having a dining experience in the best sense of the term. Please let me go back!!

Amanda K.

Yelp
My partner and I came for his birthday and as we were seated we noticed they had a birthday card there for him! The service was phenomenal and the experience was the fanciest I'd ever had in my life. Beautifully decorated and lit. We had a couple of cocktails to start (I loved that they had different eras of cocktails, props to the barstaff for needing to know all of those!), and every single course we had from there was spectacular! My favorites include the oysters, beef tartare, escargot, the duck, and the chocolate mousse with fresh-baked Madeleines. honestly, I hope we come back for MY birthday!

Monica R.

Yelp
The duck was phenomenal. Made the entire trip to Wilmington worth it. I don't know what was in that maple gastrique sauce but it blew our minds. Also the interior decorating was dope, ambiance on point, and staff was mucho friendly. Will return mos def.

Yelp
Pretty, pretty good! Stumbled in by chance looking for something to eat. Crowded and ambience was incredible. Sat at bar and had great service and a delightful burger and incredible fries. Can't wait to go back dressed more respectfully.

Rafael R.

Yelp
Service, ambiance was great. Beautiful and clean restaurant. Steak frites? Too salty, easy on the salt but I recommend it.

Denise G.

Yelp
Went to La Fete on a Thursday night with no reservation. We happily waited about 45 minutes for a table at the bar. We had a couple of cocktails while we waited. The bartender was busy but attentive. We enjoyed our beverages. After being sat, we were greeted by the server assistant, Sophie. She is wonderful! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made several suggestions. Honestly, everything that we ordered was amazing! The positives were definitely the food, Sophie and the atmosphere. They did a great job on the decor. The negatives were that it was so loud in there that I couldn't hear Sophie very well and our server was not great. I couldn't tell you her name because she never introduced herself. My daughter mentioned that she might have an after dinner cocktail and she never came back to inquire about any additional beverages. We waited way too long for the check too. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back.

Justin P.

Yelp
Food is amazing! The duck is great and plenty to go around and their fries are exquisite!

Nicolette F.

Yelp
We dined here on Sunday evening and had a great experience. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the drinks were flavorful! My friend and I shared the branzino, which melted in my mouth. It is a shared dish that came with roasted tomatoes and light lemon cream. The lentil salad for the table was nice, and the frites were perfect. My husband and our other friend ordered the pork chops, but they were different from any pork chops I've ever had. They were very tender and tasty. We will definitely come back!

Katherine D.

Yelp
We were underwhelmed. The place is uber-pretentious for no good reason. One of our sons was a high-end professional chef for a decade before becoming a lawyer. He introduced us to the concept of an "amuse bouche." It's supposed to be something special, something unusual. Tonight, ours was weak tea. Really? My husband's Manhattan was "nothing special -- dilute." His steak frites was fine, but not worth the money. We'd have been much better served getting a strip steak from Bachetti's at a third the price and better tasting. I split the appetizers of gnocchi and grilled prawns with our son. Both were relatively taste-free. The three prawns still had their heads on. Gross and disgusting. The sauce was unidentifiable. The gnocchi were way overcooked, and mushy and again, fairly tasteless. The service was mediocre - the waitress was overly perky and did her intro spiel three separate times. Even the plates were odd. Super thin, almost Chinette in feel. Way too much switching out of plates and utensils and glasses. All in all, very odd. Almost as though the staff had no experience working in a restaurant, and the chefs were trying too hard. The evening was salvaged by walking next door for hot fudge sundaes from the Charcoal Pit. They were excellent and the service top-notch.

Sharon P.

Yelp
Sorry to say but LeFete was disappointing. Atmosphere, great food- not so much. Tough steak, too salty fries. Mouse more like chocolate pudding- not mouse. Coffee- bitter, burnt, cold. Ambiance will take you only so far, after that you need good food. LeFete has a long way to go.

Yelp
La fête is a trip to France in Wilmington From the second we entered we felt completely teleported . The ambiance, decor, staff and attention to detail created an unforgettable experience . The cocktails and dinner were crafted to perfection. Hard to choose, you want to try it all, the fish was melting in our mouths , the cote de boeuf was incredible and the salad lyonnaise was simply as delicious as the ones I ate in my home town of Lyon . If you are a chocolate lover ... you will wonder why anyone else is eating anything but a 64% cacao mousse . All in all , Wilmington just got lucky with un restaurant incroyable !

Isabel L.

Yelp
One of the best Ratatouille ive had, beautiful space and our server Grace was incredible! Great spot for date night

Amy D.

Yelp
I had dinner here with my boyfriend last night for my birthday. The food was outstanding! We had escargot in a puffed pastry, halibut with oysters in a coconut cream sauce and a crepe layered cake topped with marmalade sauce. The service was first rate! I even received a French birthday card from the staff. Love the sophisticated decor and ambiance. This is the place to go for a romantic night out. My only suggestion would be to add French music (Edith Piaf and Michel Legrand).
