La Fiermontina, Lecce, Italy - Explore & Book

"This is a hotel with an artistic soul, and 2 romantic tales attached. The owner’s grandmother, Antonia Fiermonte, ran away from her village to 1930s Paris, where she married French sculptor René Letourneur, before ditching him for his best friend, sculptor Jacques Zwobada. Le Fiermontina is a tribute to her, filled with artworks by both husbands and other artists such as Le Corbusier. The second tale regards her brother, another colourful character. A boxer, he later became a Hollywood actor, and married American socialite Nancy Astor – the chic basement bar is dedicated to him, bright with posters of his boxing and film career. The hotel itself merges Parisian style with Puglian culture (the owner is from Paris but his roots are here), and has a pole position in Lecce, Puglia's most splendid town. The historic city walls skirt its shady, sculpture-dotted gardens, and so much space is a surprise this close to the centre. 18 elegant suites, many with lofty star-pinnacled ceilings, are found within the converted, golden-stone 17th-century buildings. The restaurant, Zephyr, brings you light, contemporary Mediterranean dishes; enjoy them outside in summer in a citrus grove, or in the barrel-vaulted dining room. There's a quiet grandeur about the place, and the minimalism and peace make it an ideal place for couples. Highs Space and calm in Lecce's city centre, a short walk from the main sights Elegant interior design (from Paris) and careful attention to detail Lots of space in the 18 rooms, and many have a terrace or garden Charming, friendly service, which gives a personal feel Shady lawns, fragrant orange trees and a lovely pool Lows Expensive, and rates don't include tax No spa, though treatments are available in your room It almost feels too grown up for kids, yet they are welcome and you'll feel at ease with them here" - Abigail Blasi

La Fiermontina Luxury Home (Lecce, Puglia) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In Lecce, the Baroque jewel of the Salentine peninsula, this luxurious little hotel is a tribute to the memory of Antonia Fiermonte, the owners’ grandmother, an artist and extraordinary woman who lived in the first half of the 20th century. The estate on which La Fiermontina Luxury Home stands can trace its roots to the 16th century, and the house itself to the 17th. It’s been substantially rebuilt, however, with the help of the local architect Antonio Annicchiarico; what stands here today is a tribute to the arches and vaults of the classic Pugliese masseria, but a thoroughly modern one." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed for 6 nights and this is the first 5 star hotel where the hardware and software consistently delivered above and beyond. The property's tranquil aesthetic fits like a glove in the beautiful old town of Lecce without sacrificing function. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and so are the shared spaces. All the staff were attentive, friendly and made us feel like we are at home. Special mention to Alessandro who remembered the little details every morning and Aldo, who made our evening at the rooftop bar so wonderful (ask him about limoncello!). The food and beverage quality was also very high and I looked forward to returning to our room each day. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Our entire experience is a testament of the hotel's commitment to top notch hospitality.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. The rooms are light, bright and clean. The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered so many options and was amazing. Location perfect. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and if I was ever in Lecce, I would definitely stay here again!

La Fiermontina is absolutely the best. Definitely the nicest and most comfortable place we’ve ever stayed in. We didn’t want to leave. First, Marta and Eleonora - and all the staff - are so genuinely kind and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay relaxing and easy. I will miss them. The location is perfect - within the historic center and super close to the sites that you’ll want to explore but away enough to be quiet and peaceful. We stayed at the musuem, just a minute away from the hotel. While there was another family staying there, we felt that we were the only ones there. Our room was on the top floor with our own private huge patio and jacuzzi. The huge room had a big comfortable bed and great shower. Awesome breakfast that seemed to be just for us - we’re earlier risers. The chef is just the kindest, sweetest person. Oh and we also had access to the hotel property and their gorgeous pool - and their other hotel property just a bit further away and its gorgeous roof deck for cocktails and skyline view of Lecce. Marta - can we come back and just live upstairs at the musuem? You won’t even notice us. Give our best to everyone and please thank them for us. Oh and did I mention this little one (see photo under patio chair) who would often come visit us?

The hotel feels like you’ve been dropped in to a movie set! When the sparrows are flying above chaotically at night it’s a bit Alfred Hitchcock-esq. It’s stunning with understated elegance. The gardens with olive trees and oranges are beautiful and inviting but cozy enough to feel comfortable. The artwork throughout the hotel and at their private museum is so special. And once you hear the story behind it all you will find it all even more captivating. The staff. Couldn’t. Be. Nicer!! Our room was very comfortable and elegant. My ONLY complaint was the lighting in the bathroom was not good. Applying makeup was tough and the safe was a challenge. The photos on the website don’t do this place justice at all. The town of Lecce was quaint. Food was good. Hotel helped us with a driver and tour guide for the day and another day at Mora Mora beach club. Also great experiences. Highly recommend!

When you stay here, you are surrounded by art, and not just when you go on the tour of their private museum. The on-site restaurant, Zephyr, is excellent, and very good value for the quality. But, the best thing about La Fiermontina is the staff -- in the restaurant, definitely, but at the front desk -- Marta and Maria, especially, are the best -- your happiness is their only goal. You hesitate to ask directions b/c they will take you, or track you down if you get lost -- seriously. They are unbelievalbe.

The hotel room and service rates well above 5 stars. The large suite of rooms is very modern but in an ancient building so you have wonderful ambience with vaulted ceilings, thick stone walls but lots of windows. There is great attention to detail and it is very quiet, in a garden setting surrounded by art. The staff were attentive and helpful and the breakfast was superb. You can tell that the staff feel loyal to the owners and eager to make their guests comfortable. The hotel is easy to find if you follow the staff directions- but you need to let them know if you are driving in so they can help register your car to avoid a fine for crossing into a restricted area. Location allows you to walk to everything in the old town but it is easy to drive out of the city if you want to visit some surrounding places. I recommend making this your base to explore all of Puglia- you will be thrilled to return every night to this beautiful sanctuary. We have stayed in very fine 5 star plus hotels around the world and this rates as one of the very best experiences.

Beautifully renovated palazzo in a great location in the very walkable and historic old town of Lecce. Many great restaurants within an easy 3-10 minute walk from this lovely hotel. Our room overlooked the outside terrace where breakfast was served during warmer weather. With cooler temperatures, breakfast is served in one of the stunning drawing rooms. Modern features: updated bathrooms, WiFi,and it was easy to charge electronics. Beautiful rooftop bar with stunning views. Above all, the service was exceptional. The entire staff was very warm, highly professional, knowledgeable, kind, and most accommodating. They all went above and beyond! Special acknowledgment is given to both Benedetta and Anna who treated us like beloved famiky members. They made a special effort to get to know us, and made great restaurant and shopping recommendations. I would highly recommend staying at this palazzo to my family and friends visiting Puglia.
