La Fiesta is a fantastic spot for great food and a welcoming atmosphere! The colorful decor creates a fun and lively setting, and the staff is incredibly helpful and attentive. The menu is well-organized, with clearly marked gluten-free options, making it easy to find something for everyone. I had the fajita chicken salad, which was both very filling and very good. The flavors were fresh, and the portion was generous. The house salsa is also a standout—just the right amount of heat to be satisfying without overwhelming those who prefer milder spice. The large bar adds to the inviting environment, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall, La Fiesta delivers on food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Grew up in Texas. I've been to a million Mexican restaurants. This was the best Mexican food I've ever had. My family agreed. You know the flavorless refried beans that usually come as a side? We were fighting over my son's until he finally tasted it and told us he was going to eat it. That's never happened before. I thought the chili relleno was kind of weird. There was almost a roll around the outside. Way too much bread, like a loaf of bread, bread. I just didn't eat all the bread. Anyway 10 stars out of five! Don't miss this place! Update. Spring 25. This is just meh. I don't know what happened. Maybe changed cooks too many times. Super disappointed to expect to be blown away. However, this has happened to a lot of restaurants, especially Mexican ones. Maybe it got too expensive and they had to switch up ingredients, but I've had better. And I've had better from this very restaurant. Maybe it was an off night. We did all order different things than we did last time. Might find somewhere else next time we hit town.

Fun place - and sour cream chicken enchiladas are to die for!! Decor : Absolutely a nice and clean TexMex environment. Charming spaces and tables are not too close together. Music is softly playing in the background. The bar is large with three TVs. Very warm and inviting. Score: 10 out of 10 Chips: Chips are medium thickness, unsalted, very nice. Score: 7.5 out of 10 Salsa: Salsa has a beautiful traditional tomato based flavor medium on the spicing and low heat - flavorful. Score: 9 out of 10 Chicken Quesadilla w/ onions & peppers: Skip this one. The chicken is absolutely bone dry, tough, and overcooked. The peppers and onions are beautifully sautéed al dente and the cheese veg and meat ratios are proportional. Score: 2 out of 10 Guacamole: Very nice, but had bit of saltiness to the point I could not enjoy it. (Note: I also don’t use much salt myself, so the average person may not even notice it.) Score: 2 out of 10 Beef Enchilada with chili con Carne sauce: Good portion. Meat is moist, not greasy, but also not seasoned very much. The chili carne sauce was nice but had a bit of sweetness (possibly sugar added). Was enjoyable, but not outstanding. Score: 7 out of 10 Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada: Amazing! Outstanding! Absolutely get some! The chicken is extremely moist, absolutely perfect seasoning with just a gentle hint of heat. The sauce has a beautiful tang from the sour cream and the correct consistency. Good portion. Can’t wait to come back and have them again. Score: 10 out of 10 Server (CiCi) Absolutely wonderful. Very attentive refresh my drink without me asking for it and very courteous. Score: 10 out of 10 Overall Score: 7.5 But for the guacamole and quesadilla issues, score would be 9 out of 10. DEFINITELY go for the Sour Cream Enchiladas!!!! I’ll be back for those!

Google
Ordered Ultimate Fajita Feast to try a little of it all. Amazing does not cover the presentation or taste. Platter was heaping of tender meat with onions etc. well cooked and sizzling. Haven’t been there since the update but decor was pleasing to eyes. So many different margaritas to pick from! This will be a regular for my wife and I.

Google
Picked up online order at the window. Food was excellent. The stuffed avocado was very tasty and well worth the price. The charro beans were just the right amount of heat and in mu opinion, the best in town. We love to order online and pick up at the window. So convenient, and they are always friendly.

The food was good and the flavor was plentiful. Service was ok. Forgot the queso then brought yellow instead of white. The street taco, beans and rice were very flavorful. The quesidilla Birria was full of meat but I thought light on cheese. The sour cream, pico and quac were great flavor additions. Overall it was a good tex Mex meal and we both left full.

Google
Extremely poor customer service. The servers often fail to connect properly, resulting in repeated delays and disruptions. We had a group of seven come in together and we split up and they were served before we even work. It took them exactly 7 to 10 minutes to service us.This level of service is unacceptable for a platform of this scale.

Yelp
If you come, ask for Drew! He was an incredible server, the food was amazing and fresh! Get the quesooooo..... 100/10 recommend!

Yelp
The salsa is horrible. If you don't have good salsa then foods not going to be good either. I have been going to that restaurant since I was 16 years old and the last few times I have been there the food has not been good. I would personally not go go because I don't know who took it on their selves to change the recipe, but you should change back. When I was younger and like said we ate there often the owners knew us. I would buy a jar of their salsa cause it was spicy and good. Service was good. Lots of our party did not like the food. Spinach enchiladas was not good. Rice was terrible.

Yelp
AMBIENCE: pretty crowded and small place for all the tables they have, making you feel like you're on a mission trying to get to the bathroom is not super decorated. SERVICE: a little slow on busy days (even on Sunday) not sure if they are short staffed FOOD: food was basic. Tasty food though. Alcoholic Drinks were good

Yelp
I used to go here in the 70's and absolutely loved the place and the food. I returned for the first time in many years this past weekend. I was definitely disappointed in the food...just not as tasty and it was delivered to the table about luke warm. So points off for the food. But the atmosphere was still festive and looked much like it did in the old days. Our server was excellent! We had a party of 10 and he kept us supplied with chips and salsa throughout the meal. Probably won't return, but it was fun retracing old steps.

Denise H.

Yelp
It started with the rude hostess. Her attitude was very apparent that when I asked be seated in the air conditioned part she was very unkind! Our waitress was slow and very unkind to a table of 8?Baylor couples. We will go back but if this happens again we are done. The food was not great either.

Yelp
I feel like this place should have a rating than it does...I enjoyed it! The atmosphere was fun and upbeat, nicely decorated and plenty of seating. Our server was knowledgeable, offered opinions when asked and friendly. The food was freshly prepared and hot upon arrival. My flauta was crispy with delicious queso on top, my chalupa was full of fresh ingredients and a nice crispy shell underneath. I would definitely come back.

Jon W.

Yelp
The food was GREAT & customer service was GREAT also The food was served HOT& we had plenty of chips & salsa with MANY refills for tea as well as the chips & salsa Our server was PATRICK & he was helpful, attentive & great taking care of the 5 of us ASF FOR PATRICK on your next visit

Yelp
Horrible food. I asked for their puffy taco and got a toastada... 2 completely different food items. Purple Margarita or Grape Kool-Aid was $25 a glass. Save your money, Not worth Hype!!!!! 0 star but forced to give 1, and don't deserve even 1.

Alexius C.

Yelp
My food was horrible i ordered a walking taco and it was drowned in nothing but cheese i couldn't even taste the chili and chips nor any onions etc. Nothing but cheese was all i tasted when i told the server she relayed the message that it couldnt be remade or removed from my ticket that is wrong and very unacceptable. To be served food that wasnt made correctly and expect the customer to pay for it.

Cyndie P.

Yelp
Johnny O was great serving us! Spot on with refills etc! We love LaFiesta & especially their margaritas!!

Yelp
Great lunch experience! Came here with a coworker, very friendly staff, nice clean restaurant, very quick with the chips and salsa and drink refills. Food came out fast, was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. Will definitely be back!

Dolores J.

Yelp
I am a long time supporter of this restaurant. Grew up loving the food and matured to drinking their famous margaritas. They are the best. But over the years the food has changed. Now don't get me wrong the drinks are still great. But moving up the scale as being very pricey. But back to the food. I was charged $2.00 for the green hot salas. I would have been ok if the bar person Geraldo would have warned me in advance that it cost extra. I bought food so u would think it was part of the complimentary (which could really add some marketing) opportunity. But NO. It s a charge. Shame on u LaFiesta!!. He asked if I like it and I said NO it should be served warmed. He did not bother to remove it and then when I complained he whispered to the bar ladies and they laughed This is really sad when a bar person takes advantage of people when they support and have always supported this restaurant. So I look at the bar person Geraldo as being greedy instead of great customer service. Now he is having me write this and complain when he should have apologized and remove the unlike pricey salsa. Who LaFiesta stand on what make u unique the service and the great Margarita! Do better and come back to being customer service oriented

Jenny T.

Yelp
Server Max was great! Cons: Hair in salsa! Fajitas came out cold not one sizzle or smoke from cast iron pan.

Samdy S.

Yelp
Just had a fajita chicken salad. Best one I have ever eaten there! Cook did amazing! Fresh/ beautiful/ taste 10 / serves wonderful! Will come back very soon
google avatar

Carly H.

Yelp
The service was great and so was the food. I always appreciate when a menu clearly marks which items are vegetarian and this menu did. I had to get their famous purple margarita because it said it has secret ingredients--it tasted almost medicinal and I mean that in a good way! I really liked it whatever it was. My veggie fajitas were super tasty and I got an order of churros with chocolate sauce to go.

James J.

Yelp
They were fast, my wait in the drive thru window quick and easy. They were very helpful and made sure my order was correct!
google avatar

Gerry M.

Yelp
Cindy was amazing very pleasant and knows the menu very well. She makes sure you are satisfied with your order. The guacamole / queso combo could be better

Yelp
The first time I tried La Fiesta was at work. We can purchase these prepared meals in our break room kiosks. It is great to have a hot meal when in a time crunch, and want a delicious Mexican plate! Lets, dig right into the quality! I don't review many things, but I can tell you that the flavor and quality is AMAZING! It's food I can trust coming from a "vending machine". You don't need to add salt or pepper, just enjoy!!? Unheard of! So far, I have tried chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas and the TAMALES!! TO DIE FOR!! I think we are going to take the drive from Central Texas a little further NORTH!! Keep up the great work! We love your delicious meals :)

Mickey M.

Yelp
Attentive and Awesome!! Drew was our waiter and suggested a corn cake .... Wow! We are hooked! The food is incredible!!

Kaitlyn H.

Yelp
As someone from the San Antonio area, this is my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in town. We recently had the Tapas Familias, which is a great item to split if there's just two of you. The Avocado Enchiladas are also a favorite, and I always love getting a side of sweet corn cake. Service is always great!

Ted S.

Yelp
Passing through Waco and stopped at La Fiesta. Great food, great service, charming, and cheerful atmosphere. Cindy was awesome!

Yelp
This was my second time here. Food is good. Nice staff Would return Enjoyed being able to sit outside to eat

Yelp
this is one of our go to Mexican food establishments. Staff us always friendly and seems to enjoy their job. I do find this place is always pretty busy, however the wait is never too long. They seem to stay buys with bigger parties all the time which limits the time our waitstaff can visit our table so sometimes due to that we do have to wait to get refills which is a pet peeve of mine, especially when you are eating hot sauce, however that is a scheduling issue vs a fault of the staff. The food is always favorable and plenty of it and always seems to have a quality twist to it no matter what we order. We do try to try new items every time we come and really have not been disappointed yet.
google avatar

Curtis G.

Yelp
Decent Mexican food at reasonable prices. They definitely seemed to push their rice and beans
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Excellent bar and restaurant. The food was outstanding, I hand the enchiladas banderas. Great atmosphere, especially if you like sports as there are plenty of TVs spread around the restaurant and the bar area.

Carol S.

Yelp
the best Mexican food in Waco and many other cities! Friendly happy employees always make lunch or dinner or fun! thanks for hiring the best employees!

Yelp
We haven't been here in years and the new addition looks great. We had the Loaded White Queso and it was excellent. It's big enough for a petty of four. I had the fish tacos with a side of refried beans and a corn cake. The beans were beans, nothing special . The corn cake was a sweet ball of tastiness. The fish tacos were some of the best I ever had. Crispy fried fish with slaw, chipotle mayo sauce, fresh pico, and a mango salsa that was to die for. My friend had the Stuffed Avocado with brisket. She said it was very tasty. The salsa was ok but the chips were thin and crispy. It didn't disappoint. We would eat here again.

Angela B.

Yelp
Been a favorite restaurant of mine for years. We had the bacon wings as our app and pollo con queso and carne guisada for our entrees. Everything was delicious and 2$ margaritas on Tuesday there can't be beat! Drew provided great service too!!

Jessica L.

Yelp
We love La Fiesta. Tonight we got the family fajita pack with steak & chicken as takeout and it was delicious and made for a simple family dinner! We split it among 3 of us and there is enough for leftovers.

Jan S.

Yelp
Night of Sat Sept 2nd a party of 30 people for my birthday. Seated in the back room. Servers were Steve & Julie. Restaurant was VERY busy. Food was delicious and came out much faster than I was anticipating. SERVICE WAS AMAZING!!!! Can't thank Steve, Julie and the entire staff enough for making my night so enjoyable. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

To whoever made my meal: i'll see you in hell

Yelp
One of our very favorites! We love La Fiesta! It's the best Mexican restaurant in town.

Yelp
A true Waco TexMex staple! We got seated quickly on a Tuesday night, and fresh chips and salsa was quickly brought out to us. We took advantage of the check in deal; check in on yelp and get a free cup of queso! I ordered the chicken flautas which were made perfectly, crispy on the outside, but the chicken inside was still nice and juicy. My friend ordered the brisket tacos and they were quite large and the portions of everything is generous. La Fiesta also did a great job enforcing limited capacity and distancing between tables, the booths had plexiglass dividers above the seats to further divide each party from each other. Many tables were also blocked off from use. Didn't get any drinks this time around, but definitely check out their drinks menu, especially the famous Purple Margarita!

George F.

Yelp
Excellent service. Great food, specially the fajitas. Friendly atmosphere. The purple margarita are awesome.

Seantelle A.

Yelp
I love eating here. The food tastes great and always comes out fast. . The staff is very nice.

Yelp
My wife and I were in the Waco area for a Toastmasters meeting. We finished up the meeting around noon. We decided to stop for lunch before heading home to Ft. Worth. One of our Waco friends suggested La Fiesta as a good choice for lunch. He didn't lead us wrong. The food was good ole straight-up solid Tex Mex. We were seated right away, the restaurant is quite large. The chips and salsa were good, but the salsa was a bit mild for our taste. My wife ordered the chicken quesadillas and I ordered a "pick 2" platter that had a chicken flauta and a puffy beef taco on it, accompanied with rice and beans. After a short wait, our entrees were delivered to us. The food was HOT and very tasty. Next time we're in the Waco area, we'll definitely stop in to explore some more of the menu items. An order of fajitas went by our table and looked very delicious.
google avatar

Katherine U.

Yelp
Was here during lunch time. Many options to chose from their lunch menu. Ordered the quesadilla with tortilla soup, it was great. Servers are friendly and service was fast.
google avatar

Angelique M.

Yelp
My daughter and I were initially a bit disappointed the menu was small compared to many places. We thought we needed more choices; however, it was decided once we got our meals that their smaller menu clearly meant they could focus more on making the fewer things really, really well. We got the cheese chimichanga and the carne guisada. Both were absolutely delicious and we ate until miserably full but with zero regrets. Our server was very kind with the appropriate amount of attention given to us while we chatted and enjoyed our time together. We will definitely go back.
google avatar

Kailey R.

Yelp
I don't PERSONALLY love their salsa, but everyone else in my family does, so I cant fault them for that. Literally everything else here is excellent, including the margaritas.

Danna B.

Yelp
We love la Fiesta in Waco Texas!!! We always ask for Dave as our server. He knows what we want and how we want to have served to us. We like to have Mexican Martini and Dave knows we like to just wind down before we order anything. We have never got anything bad from here I recommend you try La Fiesta on Franklin drive!!!

Kamber C.

Yelp
Best Mexican food and Margaritas in Waco. Service was fantastic and waitress was super nice.

Kate B.

Yelp
We ordered through DoorDash. The food was awesome. tried the Birra Enchiladas after having authentic homemade birra tacos and they were great- lots of flavor. Loaded queso was yummy. Will definitely order again!
google avatar

Sandi P.

Yelp
Having our flight canceled out of DFW, we ended up renting a car to drive home to San Antonio and decided Waco was a good halfway dinner point. After researching our options, we picked La Fiesta. Excellent choice! This is the place to be on a Saturday night in this busy college town. Our wait for a party of 4 was only 20 minutes though. All the staff, from the hostess to the servers, were soo friendly and helpful with food recommendations. The chimichanga was MASSIVE, beef fajita nachos amazing, and Pick Two dinner with chili con carne and sour cream chicken enchiladas excellente! If we are passing through again (hopefully not because we have to) we would definitely dine here again.

Yelp
On Tuesday 5/10/22 we went in for a Late lunch. Greeted and seated by a manager. Cindy our waitress very promptly came to our table with menus. Cindy exuded a Great attitude. Loves her Job, showed us courtesy, Superior knowledge, and professionalism. She's The perfect Waitress!! She Loves her Job! And knows what customers expect. Yelp
Really great food. Loved the Baja fish tacos and the fact you can pick your sides!!!! Delicious! Spanish Rice and corn bread was wonderful choices.

Yelp
It has been a while since I have eaten at La Fiesta. It has always been kind of good with some ups and downs over the years. My perspective all changed after dining there last Saturday. Parking was a challenge and the place was packed. They have a neat bar area where you can wait for your table. Once we were seated things just got better. If you check-in with your Yelp app they serve you free queso blanco that was excellent. Not that hot so I asked for some jalapenos. Despite the crowds did not have to wait that long for our meals to be served. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Chicken Flautas and my brother Mark, ordered the Tres Enchiladas. Both were just excellent. Great TexMex with generous portions and very tasty I might add. The salsa was good. I would prefer a little hotter but was very good. Chips were fresh. Didn't order deserts but I bet they are good. Just a very good experience for a Saturday dinner. When you are thinking Mexican in Waco La Fiesta is the place to go.

Yelp
Lafiesta has been in Waco for many years. Some days it's good and some days it's great. From tacos to enchiladas to fajitas, you can't go wrong. They have great salsa, and I just realized that today they have white quest. It was wonderful. I placed a to-go order, and the great thing about it is that you don't have to leave your vehicle. They have a drive-thru window. Ad this is a restaurant not fast food. So that is a plus! If you're craving Mexican food and have never been here, give it a try.
