La Finca truly lives up to its name. From the moment the food arrives, everything feels homemade, warm, and authentic — just like eating “en la finca.” The fresh juices are excellent, full of flavor and very refreshing. The baked fish was delicious, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. Every dish had that comforting, home-style taste that makes you want to come back. We started with an appetizer of fish and shrimp — including a fish and shrimp ceviche — which was very well prepared and full of flavor. The patacón was outstanding: crispy, fresh, and perfectly done. Portions were satisfying, and the service timing was on point. One important suggestion for improvement, especially considering it’s winter: the restaurant could be better heated. It felt quite cold inside, particularly around the legs, which makes you want to leave sooner instead of staying longer to enjoy dessert or another beer. Overall, La Finca offers delicious Colombian food with a very authentic, home-cooked feel. With better temperature control during colder months, the experience would be even better

Google
I found authentic Colombian restaurant! Cozy place with attentive service and authentic good food. Steak, chicheron, chicken soup were delicious! Beans were soupy so you can mix rice and so tasty. We loved drinks! Lemonade with mint was so refreshing and guanabana juice was the best I’ve ever had! Staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic experience of Columbian food.

Delicious but 3 shrimps for a $36 dollar plate…

I've been to this establishment quite a few times however not for many years until just recently. The food quality is very good but the meal portion of Maduro shrunk since then. The steaks were delicious and presentation is always fun as it arrives on a sizzling platter. Keep that in mind when you're ordering so the steak isn't overdone by the time you're ready to eat it! The waitress was very sweet and friendly. The music playing on the 2 big screen tvs was very good and not too loud. The decor is cute and colorful 😍 although the place is very small. The bar area has no room to actually sit which is a shame because I'm sure the revenue would greatly increase if both aforementioned were larger and had the capacity to accommodate more patrons. It was afternoon so didn't try the sangria again but will soon at some point. I remember it was very good years ago. So this little gem is worth the stop. The menu is true Colombian so if that's what you're after this place doesn't disappoint 😉 Also good location close to Hicksville LIRR. Enjoy!

Google
I am so glad I stopped in, because it's an easy place to miss from the outside. Inside it's a beautiful place with amazing service. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the food is incredible! You get so much for your money and the dishes are phenomenal!

Google
The food was not fresh and La arepa had a weird taste . Little piece of meat over cooked while I asked medium rear. The service was horrible not friendly, the waiter didn’t care. He said if the food was not good, I shouldn’t have eaten it. He did ask a couple of times, but I was afraid they were gonna spit up my food so and I was starving. Seems like they don’t care. They want to charge your even for another cup of coffee

Google
We were seated immediately by the friendly staff. The appetizers came out hot and were freshly made. I ordered fried fish which is one of my favorite dishes and I was not disappointed. The food was hot when it reached our table, freshly made crispy salads, seasoned to perfection. Will definitely be returning for the authentic Colombian Food

Google
This place is amazing. The service was outstanding. The food is delicious and generous portions. All 10/10. A hidden GEM in Hicksville. Definitely WORTH THE TRIP!!!

Yelp
Some days you just wake up and need some traditional Colombian cuisine. And this place hits the mark! It's a gem in Hicksville and I recommend you check them out. The minute you walk in you get greeted by the most friendly staff. The food is also made fresh, and you get a lot of it! I could not finish my plate. We started with some empanadas as an appetizer, it was crunchy crispy and they load it with filling. Be sure to ask for the salsa rosada (pink sauce) and the ají (spicy green sauce). For entree I went with the Bandeja Typica, it was flavorful, the meat was grilled perfectly, the rice delicately seasoned and the deep fried pork belly was incredible. It comes with a fried egg avocado, sweet plantains and a small arepa. By the end of the meal there was not much more room for dessert but we cant wait to go back and try out their tres leches cake and flan. Please note they do get busy on the weekends and parking out front gets packed. They have off site parking behind the building itself.

Yelp
Ate outside in back area at La Finca Colombian restaurant. The Lemon chicken had good flavor though the ends were hard. The grilled chicken was better cooked. The water with lime was a refreshing instead of with lemon. The side of rice and beans was tasty. I opted for neither of the 2 desserts . Ground's designed with much plastic flowers fake parrots , hanging lights and flags, a few plants and flowers and an interesting planter of an old coffee grinder. I noted bathrooms inside by the back door.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Offered coffee as I waited for my order. Clean restaurant. Seems family friendly, but I ordered takeout so not completely sure.

Yelp
This restaurant is very homey but a tad loud when there is a game playing. Service here was quick and food were hearty. Tried the mini churrasco which came with a side of rice, beans, and plantains - portions were large and filling, even for the mini. I wish the salt was a little less salted but otherwise sides and beef were good. The calamari batter was good and there was a nice heat to the sauce. My friend got the chicken with mushroom cream dish, which I tried, and it was also very hearty and tasty. One thing I found odd was gratuity was added to the receipt but they did not mention it and then ram my card with a printed receipt with the option to add more tip. Wish that was made more clear as I am sure others have missed it in the past.

Yelp
The best red snapper in town, margarita was delicious, excellent service, the staff were very kind, good music and I loved the lamps I definitely coming back for more...

Yelp
Been here a couple of times and had a hankering for some pollo con Aroz y frijoles. Small space, what looked like a patio in the back and a full bar. Hone your español skills and settle in. Parking along the side of the building and a few spots on the shoulder out front. I ordered from lunch menu which offers smaller portions and slightly lower prices than dinner menu. Steady stream of pick up and what I assume were Uber Eats drivers & or Grub Hub. Decor very reminiscent of the homeland (if you are from Colombia of course) Friendly staff who are bilingual so no worries.

Yelp
Ciertos platillos muy básicos para los precios exorbitantes, El staff necesita improvement

Aileen A.

Yelp
Food was good and ambience was nice. Cocktails are excellent especially the margarita.

Peter A.

Yelp
Came for the first time and was impressed. Small place with parking in the back and outdoor seats. I got the steak and rice with beans but i asked for plantains instead of beans. Comes with a green spicy sauce on the side. This was very good! The steak is thin and cooked great, but if it was a thicker steak or 2 pieces would fill everyone up. The margarita was a special 2 for the price of one. It was excellent!!! Salty and strong!! Definitely will come back to try a different dish.

Yelp
Service was horrible . The gentleman who served us had a major attitude. He brought out the wrong food and when I said I did not order he said "yes you did". I would never order liver ever. Then he said well now it's going to be another 15 mins . He never came back to see if all was ok . He made us feel uncomfortable. When my food came it was flavorless.we asked for a too go for my drink I was charged an extra 1 for that as well without being told . I asked for the owners phone number to speak to him and was told no. I gave my phone number and I'm still waiting for a call back. I was trying to give them a chance and his attitude got worst and worst .

Ben B.

Yelp
What a great little place! I had to go to the dentists next door and I thought I'd try it out! The staff is super nice, the food is really good and they even have some nice drinks. They had an afternoon drink special. I like how the owners decorated the place too. Que lugar pequeña pero bonito y buenisimo!

Yelp
I have been coming here for about 9 years now and the food is very delicious and well-priced. When compared to other restaurants in the area, you get more for your money in food here. Also, the food always tastes fresh here. The service is good. I think they genuinely take pride in their food and establishment. The restaurant itself has some awesome Colombian decor. I recommend going here for lunch or dinner one day with you family or spouse. They have many different options on the menu to choose from.

Yelp
Excellent food. Love the homemade hot sauces. Great value for the quality and quantity. Friendly and helpful staff, like walking into someone's grandmother's house.

Yelp
We called on the phone for takeout, the restaurant people are very very polite very patient it was a wonderful experience,, Carlos one of the managers was a very nice guy,, there's a freestanding building the colors of the Colombian flag are painted on the building,, inside it's a sit down place with Bar,, they have authentic sodas from Columbia,, as for the food delicious very tastefulSpicy and flavorful, I particularly liked the bandeau tipica (typical tray) .. The chicken empanadas were very good, loved the arepa queso,,,the homemade almond cake (marquesa alemendra) was sweet and delicious, I also had one of the natural pressed juices (jugo natural. Maracuya) excellent..Stop by for some good authentic Colombian home cooking

Yelp
mixed review but mostly not great unfortunately. We are not Colombian but have Colombian friends who turn out amazing food so we expected a lot of fun and flavor. The atmosphere of restaurant is very nice. Tight but colorful and comfortable. Started with beef and chicken empanadas. They were good. Hot and some favor, but a bit oily. Figured we try one of the "special" plates - a mixed platter for two. It was awful. Everything except for some thin slices of chicken and beef was fried. Few pieces of Chorizo sausage deep fried til hard and no flavor. Only two tiny tiny pieces of "rib" also deep fried bland and fatty. Tons of pork rinds deep fried and mostly fat. Was looking forward to plantains but they were smashed into flat pancakes and deep fried til hard - no flavor. Corn cakes greasy and flavorless. Needless to say entree was a big disappointment. Had almond cake for dessert - that was very good and presented beautifully. Service was friendly, a bit slow, but everyone was working hard in a full restaurant. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing.

Yelp
I feel like La Finca has been around forever but I just never visited until recently. My boyfriend kept saying how great the food is blah blah so we decided to go. On a Saturday night it was quick to get a table. It's a tiny establishment but they make it work. They have a huge Corona sign when you walk in but I was told they don't actually sell Corona so instead I got a Modelo which was ice cold and just what I needed. The menu is pretty basic but has something for everyone. I decided to go with something safe and get the arroz con pollo. My boyfriend got the steak with chicharrones. The arroz con pollo was a huge serving and I was excited to try it but was left greatly disappointed. I believe they put tomato of some sort into the rice mixture and it threw off the taste completely. All I tasted in each bite were tomatoes. The chicken was moist but the tomato taste was overpowering - and I typically LOVE tomatoes. The dish came with a single maduro that was probably the best part of the meal. The side salad was a joke with one cucumber, two tomato slices, and some sad looking lettuce. My dish also came with a soup to start and it was covered in cilantro. My boyfriend (who before that night loved this place) even said his meal was lacking flavor and just not that great. Is the food bad? Nope. Is it what you're expecting? Nope. I'd rather continue to go to Pollos El Paisa where the food quality is always excellent.

Yelp
Delicious lunch special lentils soup piping hot and comes with a nice fresh side salad , rice and steak! Loved it!

Pio N.

Yelp
Small place yet fun lively ambience Lengua - cow tongue - amazing - not always available The big platter with all the works is always good The deep fried snapper or porgies is amazing ***just becareful as you may end up ordering too much. Most meal has a side of rice and beans or plantains*** Make sure you have enough space on your table

Rebi B.

Yelp
google avatar

Ren Z.

Yelp
A quaint Colombian restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices. The empanadas are great. The "typical" plate fills any appetite. Portions are generous and everything is fresh. Definitely a recommendation for anyone with a hankering for good Colombian food!

Yelp
Good tasty hearty food without the fanfare or pricy tab. Well worth a visit and definitely the takeout can't be beat

Yelp
I'm a big fan of La Finca. Such an authentic Colombian restaurant from the way the restaurant looks to the food. Everything tasted absolutely delicious. We had the churrasco, bandeja paisa, and empanadas. Love the spicy sauce they serve with everything! Took one star away because the restaurant is pretty small! Definitely recommend taking your food to go.

Joe A.

Yelp
I have been going to La Finca for quite some time. The food is always good. However my last trip there I was confused with the menu being that the quarter chicken is not a quarter chicken it's a chicken cutlet, but the menu says quarter chicken. It's been like this for sometime and I think the menu should get changed if they don't serve it anymore. The drinks are very good the food always good however the gentleman that sat us and waited on us must've been having a bad day or it's just not very happy to be working, he tried to upsell us on water bottles we did not ask for. Also when we ordered the quarter chicken he did not tell us until it was actually served that it was not a quarter chicken. This should have done before we ordered it. I was not happy with the overall attitude of the restaurant that day but I'll get back there and give it another chance.

Yelp
Tiny cute homey place feels very authentic, super cheap prices w large portions. Try the empanadas as appetizers they're super crunchy, fresh and not greasy. Food was really good, service a bit slow.

Steve O.

Yelp
I give this place a high rating. The food is amazing. I really enjoyed the staff. They are some good people. This place introduced Colombian cuisine to me for first time ever. All I can say is that I'll be back as many times that I can while my stay here in NY. I recommend this place to everyone. Steve Lubbock, Texas

Yelp
Being half Colombian, I've always found myself in an interesting position when going to latin restaurants, especially of the Colombian flare. Going into any Latin restaurant I usually feel somewhat out of place being unable to speak Spanish but I felt very welcome here by the staff. Upon being seated, I found that the menu was well sorted out by type of meat as well as Colombian specialties (think: typical platter). I ended up getting one of the cheaper options, a $6.50 ground beef platter and it was exactly what I was looking for. In my past experiences at Colombian restaurants I always felt like I didn't finish my plate because extras were thrown in I just didn't want, but here they had enough variety among dishes that you could get a typical platter with eggs, beef, pork, rice and beans or choose from other platters that used some of the above ingredients, down to the lowly ground beef platter which was just seasoned ground beef and rice. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and left full. I also got some empenadas with both chicken and beef. My girlfriend got a passion fruit smoothie which she enjoyed. Overall, I actually prefer this location to Pollos En Paisa which is a somewhat nearby Colombian restaurant down Old Country Road. La Finca also does take-out and delivery, so if you're local this is a great choice for a very competitively priced, and different meal than the usual Italian or Indian options available in the direct area. There really aren't many Colombian options on Long Island and I've been to most of them, luckily the best I've been to is 5 minutes from me.
google avatar

Hugo F.

Yelp
The food is very homemade Colombian style. Everything from the Chicken to the "La Finca" plate was delicious. I would recommend the waitress with the glasses and blonde streaks in her hair, she is very courteous and naturally sweet. The older waitress seemed really angry the first time we went, but the 2nd time she really tried hard to be nice. I felt bad because I could tell it was an effort but I did appreciate it. Some people aren't cut out for the service industry. But whoever the woman is who is at the front bar/register on the left when you walk in doesn't help the aura. You can tell being a hostess is not her thing either. But if you're not needy on the red carpet treatment and good food is all you want this is the place for you! Oh, another point, stay away from flan and tres leches desserts. The flan isn't bad, but I've had a lot better. And the tres leches is more like a white flan than a tres leches cake. You can pretty much call it a one leche cake lol Or white flan lol Other than that all the food and shakes were amazing!

Yelp
It's a great restaurant to eat the empanadas are amazing but sometimes they forget several things when you order to go. Dining and is actually pretty nice and clean.

Yelp
Fine Columbian fare! Had beef empanadas and the picada platter. Food was fresh and tasty. Service was outstanding. I frequent twice per month. Always consistent

Yelp
Want rude service and bland food??? This is the place for you!! The food was disgusting and the waiter was super rude!! Btw check the reviews because they decide to pay Yelp to delete them!!! Will not come back ever!!!..

Yelp
As a fellow Colombian I love my Colombian food but I have never had such a terrible experience at a restaurant before. I made an Uber eats order.. The order was taking very long it , had already been an hour and 30 minutes and still no word. I ended up calling the restaurant to see what was going on and the male I spoke to over the phone was very rude to me and hung up the phone on me. I tried to call back for some answers and they didn't pick up for another five minutes. I finally got a hold of the man who hung up the phone and was letting him know that I had been waiting for my order a very long time and he repeatedly shouted at me that the restaurant was busy. I told him that I understood that but how much longer was it going to be for me to get my order? he actually shouted again saying that "the restaurant is busy I don't know what to tell you" and hung up the phone on me once again. They canceled my order and I called up again to get the name of the man who was very nasty to me and the woman refused to give me his name as she was also being very nasty to me. It's very sad to see my country be represented by these nasty and miserable people. Please do not bother coming to this restaurant. There are better places out there. It was not a nice experience and I didn't even dine in the fucking restaurant.

Yelp
To be able to find Colombian food on Long Island is hard enough in itself, to find a place that's actually good... Well that's La Finca. The food here is that of simple dishes that seem to be fairly authentic and not really dumbed down for a non Colombian crowd. There's always a soup of the day that's something that reminds me of what my grandmother would cook up for me, something like ox tail or good caldo with chicken parts and not just little pieces of chicken. I love their empanadas and they're that of the Colombian style, stuffed with potatoes and some bits of shredded beef. Entrees are pretty solid and the Colombian platters are great and plentiful and the price around 11 bucks cant be beat! The interior is simple and with a lot of trinkets and decor that looks like something of an outdoor eatery or flea market in Columbia or at least that's what I'd imagine it to look like. Overall a decent place to catch a good meal with decent prices and good service that doesn't rush you out the door.

Alex B.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks and the host was very accommodating. Our Club Soccer team came over memorial day weekend to play in a tournament and we selected this location by chance. By far the best food in the area that my boys decided to come back a second straight night. ( 12 Total) All the plates they picked were delicious! and well portioned. I highly recommend this small spot for food and drink.

Yelp
I loved the food at this charming cozy little place! I had the bandeja tipica, a dish at a great price, IIRC about $12, with a lean, thin steak, CHICHARRON (fried pork rind, guilty pleasure!), fried egg, baked beans, rice, fried plantain, and a small corn cake. I also ordered a beef empanada ($1.25), a beef patty, for an appetizer. While the food is amazing, the prices here are so affordable. A "mini" version of the above platter is available for just $9.25! The bandeja tipica for me is a weakness... it's a very hearty platter of great-tasting food. The steak, like I said, is a thin cut of meat and can be a bit tough, but still quite rich in flavor. The chicharron is a thick cut of pork skin, like a thick cut of bacon, crispy with meat, fat and skin on it. The rice is not bland but cooked savory and just right, as are the beans. The fried plantain was quite sweet and soft. The arequipa, or corn cake, was quite dry and hard - not my preference when it comes to baked corn goods, but I'm not complaining for the variety and quantity of food provided here. The empanada was alright - the bread on the outside was not impressive. The place is charmingly decorated with items and motifs from rural Colombia, some Colombian music videos are playing on the television. Service is very friendly. Definitely a great place to go with friends.

Yelp
so let's see on the reason why i gave this restaurant the rating i did because i honestly love the food here. first i do believe they need to learn some english - what happens to those who come in and speak no spanish at all????? i have also detected a little attitude - not much little. another thing i do not like wasting food - so you come and take my order and i specifically order my food a certain way i expect to get it that way. I did not want the corn cake - the salad - water with no lemon. what happens i get all this on my plate and then some. i did not understand. you write is all down and for what. but i do like the taste of the food. comes out hot and not over spicey. of course i'll go back.

Alexandra L.

Yelp
Best Colombian food on Long Island!! Been here multiple times and it's consistently delicious!!

M C.

Yelp
So happy this is open and serving a full FRESH menu. The outside decor is so beautiful. A lot of time and care went into making this a new HOT spot. Pablo is always there, making sure everyone has exactly what you need. Super excited to have this place to dine! Service is on point. Must..must try this place, casual, fresh, homemade recipes to die for. Best beans and rice! To go is super easy. Pull in the back lot and your Hot Fresh Empanadas are delivered today your car( my favorite)...or you can go In to grab your order. Can't wait till the inside is done with new floors TVs and tables! Hidden Gem. Pablo is making it happen!!!

Ed Z.

Yelp
Food is always authentic fresh and very tasty. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Very cozy place.

Yelp
Been here quite a few times, always satiated. Good solid peasant food! Tonight, along with a glass of pinot grigio, I sampled the skirt steak, with a side of chimichurri sauce (olive oil, garlic, parsley). The chimichurri sauce was DEE-licious on top of the steak! The sides were the standard stick-to-your-ribs, rice, beans, arepa and plantain - *love* the plantains. The flan is from a can, (or so it tasted), but it's forgiven, because they did a fine job with the presentation. Viva Colombia!

Doug N.

Yelp
This restaurant is a jewel. You would never know from the look on the outside but once you enter you're transported to Columbia. It is authentic to a tee. The food is fresh, homemade and generous portions of delicious favorites. The Snapper was unbelievable. So tender and tasty. The fruit Batidas drinks are so smooth and of course made with real tropical fruit. No Jamba Juice mixes here. Speak Spanish? Even better! Once you eat here you'll be back again and again. Oh, did I mention the prices are very reasonable. Coming here is a cultural experience. Sure, I read the other reviews about service and not speaking English. You want American style Latin food? Go to chipotle down the block!

Alexander L.

Yelp
Best Colombian restaurant i've ever been to! Best first date i've ever been on. Amazing food and atmosphere and amazing prices. Passionfruit margarita is a must. Staff super friendly as well. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
It's ok if you don't mind random chunks of Old McDonalds Farm in it's entirety deep fried and dumped on a plate with no flavoring other than salt. Great for meat maniacs with no real care about anything other than meat and cost, but not exactly fine dining. The seafood in cream sauce is pretty good. Forget the roasted chicken. The restaurant definitely did when they served it to us, cooked like moisture was a manifestation of El Diablo. That said the beer enpanadas are excellent.

Daniella R.

Yelp
Sooo Grosss!!!! Meat is Old, like really old. It didn't taste like chicken or anything, the I got sick even from just the broth of the soup. Another time there was a Bug in the food. Terrible communication. Never never again

Christina R.

Yelp
Rice & beans are the best in town! & the beef empanadas are beyond delicious!! I would not eat inside it looks sketchy and there's never anyone eating.

Yelp
The service was good, the value was amazing and the food was even better. Will be going back very soon. Best authentic spanish food i have had in years.

Yelp
This was my first time having columbian food. It was interesting and I did enjoy it. I love that I got to experience something outside the norm of my comfort zone. That being said I'm more of a non columbian kinda good guy. I liked it, they did a good job, but it's moy my thing.

Amador A.

Yelp
I love the how small this place it, it gives it more of a homey feel. There were several things I tried here which most of which I seemed to enjoy: - empanadas $1.20, cheap in price, full of meat and fried just perfectly - arepa con quasi $3.50, which was full of shredded cheese on bottom of a pastry dough - a small fried meat platter $9.99 which is enough for a party of 2. When the dish came to the table I asked the waiter if this was the small and it was, I had to ask the waiter several times after just to make sure. I wonder how big the large dish is!!!!! Besides size I really enjoyed this dish. It came with all of my favorite meat - Chicken with rice $9.99 which was dry and seemed it was just boiled and then basted with sauce after. Not very good at all. - Figs with cheese $3.50 for desert which was nothing special all it is, is figs with cheese. Nothing done up. Overall I liked it here the prices are cheap and food portions are huge. Service wasn't that good, but just call the water a few times after he walks right by you and then he'll stop by.

Yelp
I've only ordered the basic rice and beans for take out. Beans really no flavor and the white rice very mushy. the place is very small and could use some renovations. there are other Colombian restaurants that just blow this place away.
