La Fleur de Sel

We had a lovely meal here. The waiters were excellent and spoke brilliant English which we definitely appreciate and don’t take for granted…. The set menu is a good price at €27. The starters are relatively big and quite filling - I loved the little prawn samosas but not sure it needed so much of the avocado moose with it. The home made chips served with the main courses were delicious. I had the mussels in the curry sauce and they were lovely - small mussels but very tasty and just the right size after having eaten a starter. The beef looked very good and I was told it was very tasty and well cooked.

The staff here were very polite, helpful and knowledgeable - especially as we don’t speak French very well! The food was lovely and I particularly enjoyed the dessert! Definitely one of the nicest restaurants along the Vieux Port! I would recommend!

Four of us looked at the menu online and decided it was worth a try and it definitely was! Our waitress was new and very charming and I am sure she will do very well. As for the food.....delicious starter, main and dessert. Choice of wines was excellent starting, of course, with a bottle of champagne! All in all, we will definitely return on our next visit to Epernay!

Very disappointing experience. We waited over an hour and a half for our food, with no real explanation or apology. I ordered an entrecôte steak, asked for it medium (à point), and received something completely overcooked, dry, and tough – like a piece of shoe leather. On top of that, about 60% of the steak was just fat, making it barely edible. When we raised the issue, the server gave us a 4€ discount on a 120€ bill – a token gesture that felt more insulting than helpful. The quality of the food and the service was unacceptable for the price. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid if you expect decent food or respectful service.

We had a wonderful meal served simply but vey well prepared. Our appetizers of oysters from île de Re and fois gras were delicious. The bac de cod was a large portion and the “risotto” served with it was more farro like than rice but terrific. The sole meunière (deboned by my server) was delicate and Well seasoned with lemon. Our desserts of profiteroles and caramel glacé were a perfect ending. Service was friendly and prompt and English spoken well. A bargain at the price of 100 euros including wine.

We loved the food here, probably the best we had in our whole france trip. The service was also great and well explained in English. Would definitely come here again!

Service was a little uneven to start, but got better as the evening went on. We both have from the menu at 35 euros (which was a great value). Portion sizes were good, food was cooked quite well, and the fish from the market was excellent.

Beautiful fish soup and a delicious sea bream. Good dessert and really nice wine. Service very pleasant and efficient and the location is amazing.

One of the best place in that street. Advise: have a reservation, especially if more than 3 people. Great plates with flavor. The "fish of the market" is always a great inspiration; had espadon with bean purée. Was good, just a little less cook would have been exceptional The service is always good.

The dinner setting started at 1830, and it was many tables inside and outside. The staff was both polite and knowledgable! We ordered the 3.cours meal, it was great. Good value for it's money! The location is also very good, in a cozy street close to the center.

We went to La Fleur de Sel and had a nice 3 course lunch there. Value for money with their menu is very good. Personally I didn't care much about the brown fish-soup I had as a starter nor about the (non vanilla-custard) Crème brûlée - but there was nothing really wrong with both and the main dish was very much to my taste. The waiters were quite friendly and quick. During the tourist-season and on week-ends, reservations are definitely recommended, the place was packed when I was there.

Fantastic restaurant! Great value for money, we've been there a few times and never disappointed. Everything is always delicious. They also have a pretty good wine list.

Rancid tuna followed by an indignant waiter yelling at us because we sent it back. The replacement wasn't me ch of an improvement... pan fried pork in corn starch based sauce.
