Google
This place does not look like much, but what it lacks in appearance it makes up for in food. We stopped for pastries and were not disappointed. I highly recommend stopping here, such a great spot!

Google
Many choices for pastries, and also food although we only wanted dessert. We got the cheese flan, vanilla flan, and tres leches. The other places nearby in Buffalo were all out of flan. It was very good here, especially the vanilla flan. The woman at the register was nice and even gave us an extra flan. There’s outdoor seating.

Iv ordered from here plenty of times foods usually pretty good, they have a good selection of authentic Puerto Rican foods and pastries. Love the pasteles!

I don’t know what’s going on at the restaurant. I usually enjoy the fried pork chops. They had switched it up and did them with some type of sauce/gravy. It took a little time to get use too but I did end up enjoying it. Now they have gone back to just the regular fried pork chops. Mine were so hard and dry I almost choked on it. Who wants to eat dry food. No bean sauce comes with the dinner at all or some type of gravy .

Google
A fun little Puerto Rican takeout place with lots of different dessert options at extremely decent prices! They also have pastelillos and other "street foods," and then there's the Cuban sandwiches! Yummy! A variety of sandwich options as well! Cards and Google/Apple pay are accepted.

**La Flor Bakery: A Taste of Grandma's Cooking from Puerto Rico in Buffalo, NY** Located in the heart of Buffalo, NY, La Flor Bakery is a culinary treasure that brings the comforting flavors of Puerto Rican grandmothers right to your plate. During my recent visit, I was transported back to my family's home in the center of the island by the incredible tastes and aromas that filled the bakery. The star of the show at La Flor Bakery is undoubtedly their mouthwatering pernil asado, or roasted pork. The meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with a symphony of spices that reminded me of the traditional recipes passed down through generations. Paired with their fragrant arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans), every bite was a nostalgic journey to the dining table of my Puerto Rican relatives. For those craving a hearty meal, La Flor Bakery also offers delicious bistec (steak) that is cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold and satisfying, making it a true delight for meat lovers looking for an authentic Puerto Rican dining experience. No meal at La Flor Bakery would be complete without indulging in their heavenly desserts. The tres leches cake, a staple of Puerto Rican celebrations, was moist, creamy, and infused with just the right amount of sweetness. And let's not forget their irresistible quesitos, flaky pastries filled with creamy cheese that melted in my mouth with every bite. Beyond the exceptional food, La Flor Bakery's ambiance exudes warmth and hospitality. The staff welcomed me with open arms, sharing stories and recommendations that made me feel like part of their extended family. In essence, La Flor Bakery captures the essence of home-cooked Puerto Rican cuisine with its flavorful pernil, comforting arroz con habichuelas, bistec,& delectable tres leches, and irresistible quesitos. It's a culinary journey that transports you to the heart of Puerto Rico, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic taste of the island's culinary heritage right here in Buffalo, NY.

Google
Very nice staff. Went with a large group and ate outside. We kept going back in for more fork and spoons, yet the staff was nice about it. Very good price for the portion sizes. The place is very small, with only a few tables, so it's a nice atmosphere. Actually connected to a barber shop. We tought there was a pet in the bakery, turns out it was the cash register!

Google
beef alcapurrias was disgusting. chicken pastellios taste like canned chicken super mushy. Pastelillo Carne y Queso / Beef and Cheese wasn't as bad but still not edible for me.. the steak with rice and beans is good. not alot of flavor but the meet is tender. stuffed potatoe was bland but ok.

Yelp
El ambiente no es muy agradable, la comida es aceptable. El lugar no invita a quedarse allí a pesar de algunas mesas y sillas . Poco acogedor

Yelp
hot food is very good welcoming the pastries sometimes taste past there date but they are willing to something fresher or a refund

Yelp
I got a salami sandwich from here that was...okay. The sandwich was pretty big for $10, but it was mostly filled with the veggie toppings. There was only one thin layer of salami. It tasted fine, but more meat would've made it more flavorful. I wouldn't order this particular sandwich again, but might try another. We also tried their cheese dog and the beef and cheese pastelillo. Pastelillos were delicious! The cheese dog was really interesting. It was a hotdog with American cheese all wrapped in thin dough and deep fried. It's one of those things you should probably only have one of a year...like a guilty pleasure, haha! So, I'm not rushing back to La Flor, but I'm glad they're there.

Yelp
Disappointed this visit. As noted before, i don't speak Sapnaish and this visit I felt like I was inconveniencing them, maybe b/c they were very busy. In any event, ordered 4 pastries, 2 of each type. When we arrived home and opened the bag, neither was what we had ordered! One is very good, the other is dry and inedible for us. The dry one was the one with sprinkles; it did have a bit of some red jelly-like filling, but that was insufficient.

Yelp
Horrible experience i will never come again and hope you lose business no cake should be looking like this

Yelp
Pastries and empanadas, Puerto Rican style, can be found at this Westside bakery. Lots of delicious looking sweets. The guava filled pastry was especially good. Each pastry was about a $1 each. The chicken (pollo) empanadas were a bit bland in taste surprisingly. I was expecting a little kick. Yet, still quite nice. Their are beef, pork and cheese filled empanadas too. Empanadas around $2 -$3 each. Since I was there early in the day around 9 am, I didn't see some hot meals they make - like baked chicken and stews. Good to support local folks in our area and sample Puerto Rican cuisine.

Yelp
Deliciosa! UB students from NYC love this place and I'm so glad I was finally able to visit with my Mom. The pastries were heavenly, the coffee strong and "old-school," and the service charming. Be sure to walk the Hispanic Heritage District while you're here. Definitely a Buffalo gem that everyone should visit.

Yelp
This place has legit Puerto Rican delights! Pork, chicken dishes, rices, pastelillos, flan, other desserts... the fried pork was fried hard on the outside and tender inside. Very well seasoned... really, everything was delicious! I didn't eat the rice even though it's one of my very favorite things on earth, (they have yellow and red rice here) but my dining partner said it was good, but she's had better... There was a tent next to the building where meats on sticks were being grilled... smelled good and the chicken with mojito was delicious! We really enjoyed this spot!

Yelp
The hell wrong with this place? Let me start by saying I have frequented many Latino restaurants homes countries festivals venues people's houses, people's houses just to chill, people houses just to eat, people's houses just too.. Devil's lettuce. But this establishment.. tripping. I really think people who are familiar with the workers there frequent this establishment. I say that because I saw the demeanor of the woman taking the order change went 2 other patrons came in. Also one of the workers was chit-chatting it up with a family outside. That same family kept staring at me and my cousins like we did something wrong. Or like we stole from them. It was quite uncomfortable. Second. I asked for Cafe Con leche. The woman pointed over to the trash can where creamers and sugar were on top of. The coffee was burnt. And it definitely wasn't any type of Hispanic coffee. That was all of Folgers or Maxwell house. It was some nasty trash American coffee. And I don't drink or rock with American coffee. Epic mention... She kept rolling her eyes when she was taking my order. I should have left. Just straight walked out when she was doing it. But those empanadas were looking mighty good. And you know what... They were the bomb! I have a strong feeling the food in this joint is the bomb! But if you going to have a funky attitude with somebody new much less somebody from out of town comes to visit... Best believe I can take my money elsewhere... Across the street to Niagara Cafe to be specific! The place is totally run down looking as though it's not making much money or either they didn't apply for the PPP loan. But with all of that attitude and staring, keep those bomb ass empanadas! Yeah they were the bomb but not enough to deal with that type of behavior. It's real crazy because the white people in this city are so freaking friendly! They're friendly like the Denver White people! So you're super relaxed and your guard is so down! Then to have to walk into this establishment with the staring and eye rolling.. hard pass not returning! But those empanadas were good!

Yelp
Great authentic Spanish food! I highly recommend the stewed, roasted chicken, and fried pork chop dinners. The pastellilos are okay, I prefer the across the street competition but theirs aren't too bad. I'm just not a big fan of the doughy crust - but theirs aren't GOYA - La Flor makes theirs fresh so there's that. What can I say great reasonably priced delicious authentic Spanish food boom

Yelp
More stars reserved for later when I try more of their food. I came here to grab a guava turnover and try the tres leches cake. I took it to go. Overall, the bakery is an interesting operation -- there's food and sandwiches like the Cuban and Tripleta along with baked goods and cake. The turnover and tres leches cake were unfortunately a bit disappointing and I'm not sure if I'd recommend them again. The turnover had a tasty, very sweet guava filling (which was awesome), but the pastry itself didn't taste the freshest with the fresh baked taste you'd come to expect from a bakery. The tres leches was disappointing, almost as if it was made from a box of cake mix... So why the 4-stars? The authentic atmosphere, kind service and the off-chance that I just ordered the wrong things. I'll be back try more and hope to get it right the next time.

Yelp
In an undesirable location, but ordered cheesecake and tres leche. Split one w spouse over 2 nights. Not overly sweet. Cheesecake was my fave of the 2. Prices were great

Yelp
Everything I had here is delicious. One of few places in Buffalo that sell quenepas. I did not give the 5 star review only because I wish it was bigger with more dinning. The poor review by Indigo PN on here, it sounds like an Indigo problem. Just because they didn't kiss your ass doesn't mean they deserve one star. I wouldn't want a customer like you. I'm sure you'll still have your friends buy the food there for you. La Flor has great food and there is no denying it.

Yelp
I used to love this place! The fried chicken there is super cheap and they are super nice. However, I just can't believe they charged me $12 for a portion of rice that's not even enough to feed 2 people! It doesn't make any sense that their chicken ($2/piece) is wayyy cheaper than just plain yellow rice. I don't know if this is a mistake or what, but when I called, they said it was right. It was ridiculous!

Yelp
Come for the empanadas, stay for the dessert. La flor is constantly coming in hot with their fresh empanadas. This is a truly authentic Puerto Rican restaurant and bakery. Everything from their colors to their decor to their food, they're doing it right. Conveniently located on the west side and right near the entrance to the 190 and right down the street from Niagara square, no mater where you're going, la flor isn't too far away. Their fresh empanadas are my favorite. They have all different flavors like chicken, veggie, beef, pizza, and more. The outside is so crunchy and tasty and the inside is a meaty packed mouth full of flavor. My favorite is definitely beef but I do love them all. Of course you can't stop at the empanadas though, you have to try their guava squares. It's layered phyllo dough with guava curd in the middle and topped with powdered sugar yumm yumm yumm. I also am a huge fan of their tres leche cake, it's so creamy and moist you just can't beat it. Their prices are so reasonable too, you can come feed the whole family. Obviously this is a Yes. Yes. Yes.

Yelp
I went here 2 times and both times the staff was rude. I love Puerto rican bakeries; Coming from NYC I miss the bakeries that are open early in the morning where I can get my pan de agua, pastries and my coffee. This place was not it for me, a staff member mocked my accent my first visit to her co-worker like I didn't understand Spanish, my second visit the staff was just obnoxiously rude and just had an energy that radiates they did not want to help me. I didn't care to entertain a third visit. The pastries and bread that I did purchase weren't bad I just wish their service was more inviting and pleasant the environment was the huge turn off for me. Especially since it was pretty much a grab and go atmosphere.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love to come here on the weekends for their breakfast sandwiches! They make their own bread daily, how can you say no to that! I get the ham, egg, lettuce, onion, cheese, Mayo, and ketchup.

Jose C.

Yelp
There pastelios are very dry. They use ground chicken for ground beef and cheese which is very dry. You would think the cheese would help. Also has no flavor at all let alone they're charging 3 dollars smh

Yelp
So dissatisfied and disappointed with this restaurant. I've came here on occasion for lunch and I usually get a small order of Bacalao or "Bacalhoada", with yellow rice and beans on the side. I've had their deserts and they are not my favorite. They look great, but the taste doesn't match. Today I decided to bring a friend and also get a large order of my beloved Bacalao. What. A. Waste. First of all, I was most certainly overcharged! ... the large literally had the same amount of food as the small. The food wasn't bad but the rice was overcooked and the peas in the rice were hard as rock. This was most upsetting as the rice is always something I look forward to when opting for a Puerto Rican dining experience. My friend decided to get an order of baked chicken and yellow rice with beans on the side. He said his chicken was flavor-less and and somewhat slimy compared to Niagara Cafe's famous rotisserie (across the street). I will say their passion fruit juice was good. In a nutshell- way overpriced for the value, and the food isn't bad but it's hit or miss.

Yelp
I'm a black woman, originally from Queens, and have eaten at many Hispanic eateries from horrific dives to finer dining throughout the U.S. that being said La Flor is absolutely on the top 10 on my list. I am happy to report that the state of the ceiling and cleanliness of the shop were up to A standards. The customer service was friendly and direct. I have not dated any Hispanic women in the past, but if I received any attitude there, it was about as "spicy" as Taco Bell's mild sauce. So far, I have only tried their pastries (a donut and mallorca con queso), which were extremely good and more than fairly priced ($3.00 total) and I added a photo to demonstrate the portion -- you won't get that at Tim Hos. The pastries are awesome a must try. Congratulations La Flor!

Bob G.

Yelp
I was dying to try this place. I got two spiraled pastries with powdered sugar and two coffees. Clearly the pastries were not fresh. They had a hard texture and tasted like 3 day old stale bread...the powdered sugar looked wet. Although edible, they were a complete waste of calories. Neither my wife nor I wanted to eat them...so we both threw them away after just one "heart-broken" bite. The coffee was ok but tasted like it had chicory on it, which my wife does not prefer. I drank most of mine but my wife threw hers away immediately...also this wasn't cheap...price was over $9.00. So sad. So I think the buyer should beware that baked goods here are not always fresh and perhaps that extends to their food as well. I also think I was over charged.

Juan V.

Yelp
Service is very slow, the food served is very skimpy. If ordering the waiting time could be a little bit longer than usual.
google avatar

Lappa C.

Yelp
Still awesome! The place was packed this morning. Got the usual breakfast sandwich the best in Buffalo! Also grabbed some pastries guava turnovers , Palmiers which has to be the best I've ever eaten some are dark others are pale so whatever your preference they offer it, they're gigantic too ! So my update is that LaFlor is still my favorite Puerto Rican place to eat. Sadly Niagara Cafe is across the street and I've never entered the place, they're so protective of their parking lot so I don't bother plus I knew a girl that dated the owners son and he was a D*CK. SO LaFlor is my choice if you want good food for an affordable price. They cater too, guy was in the store ordering 50 assorted pastellios when I was waiting for my sandwich. AWESOME PORK TOO! ALL THE PREPARED FOODS ARE KILLER!

Andre A.

Yelp
Both times I went I couldn't eat because the customer service is so bad and takes so long.. the first time I waited 30 mins and left. Second time they said Apple Pay worked so I waited in line just to find out that it doesn't...
google avatar

Eve E.

Yelp
I went yesterday here for the first time because I want some carne frita. Unfortunately it is not available so I ordered Pernil with rice and beans and it taste sooo good with my tres leches and vanilla flan. Today I returned... and victory was mine. My Carne Frita is superb and of course the old fashioned doughnuts are to die for. Give this place a visit... worth every penny
google avatar

Yukie K.

Yelp
Their food was nice and I went there sometimes when I used to live nearby. So I was excited to go there after a while. Their corn dogs cost 1.5 (I'm not sure if they mean for each piece or for a bucket which had 3 of them) and the lady told me the small box of rice and beans with pork is 7. And in total it costed more than 15... Did I get charged for not being their local or anything? Apparently there are people who feel they got overcharged so I hope it's not because of our race or because we cannot speak their language Anyway, there's even not clear receipt saying which costed how much so idk if I can go there again with feeling comfortable:(
google avatar

Tracy F.

Yelp
I think I just ripped off. I don't have to speak the language to know shadiness when I see it. I yelped them and I have a Mexican friend who introduced me to Spanish food and culture. I was really looking foward to coming here. For their steak and rice/beans, white rice w fish, 2 pastilles,& 4 potato balls I got charged $32!!!!!! Shame on me. Shld of stayed at the place across the street.
google avatar

Awilda L.

Yelp
The best Puerto Rican food in Buffalo. Excellent taste, and the variety of typical pastries from Puerto Rico made here are delicious.
google avatar

Beynan R.

Yelp
La Flor is a great local establishment for all your baking needs. Their cakes are delicious and proven to satisfy your senses. They also have breakfast if you want a cafe style experience. Highly recommended

Sharon N.

Yelp
Tried the beef and rice which was good. The chicken was a little dry. Tripleta was very filling and good enough for two people. I thought I got a tres leeches cake but it apparently a different dessert that wasn't as good. The guava cake was great. The staff was kind and friendly.

A R.

Yelp
I ordered three sandwiches and they all were extremely skimpy with the meat compare to the price. The ham, egg, cheese with lettuce and tomatoes was more bread than anything else two of them cost $18 dollars. The waiting is way to long. The sandwiches after waiting so long were Not hot neither. they can improve, but right now is not all that...
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
I had a cake from here at a party and it was so delicious I went the very next day and bought a cake. The staff was so nice and helpful, they said the most popular was vanilla cake and I got it with guava filling. They customized the color and writing and it was just perfect, the price was very reasonable. I can't wait to get another cake from here! As you can tell in the pictures we got into it before I could get a picture.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and for the most I like their food. Their yellow rice, pork, empanadillas, alcapurrias, and quesitos are really good. The polvoron cookie was pretty good. The tostones and relleno were not. I would come back, their food has good flavor.

Jessica O.

Yelp
Me and my husband stopped there in the bakery for some sweets and everything we bought was old and hard we bough a flan which didn't taste like flan at all and pastelillos de guayaba and some pieces of cakes that were hard imposible to eat am not a happy camper so disappointed never ever will stop there again I don't know why if they don't sell their good they keep it for days eww so sad because i though different but nope !!

Noel A.

Yelp
Was looking forward to trying this place for a guava pastry. We went in the morning but they were old and stale. The pastry part tasted like it was rancid. Very disappointed.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
I've been saying for some time that the only thing Buffalo is missing is a home style bakery that doesn't charge an incredible amount of money for cakes. I had been here before and had cake from here, but I wasn't sure if they made cakes for events or special occasions. My fiancé was turning 30 and for some reason decided he wanted a cake from here for his birthday party. I wasn't sure if they actually did that, but I gave it a shot. They have 3 different size cakes: $15, $20 and $25. I opted for the $25 size which they said would be good for 15-20 people. I ordered it in pineapple because I wasn't sure what else to get. I questioned my decision until the day I picked it up, but I figured I'd go with it and see how it turned out. The staff was super friendly. They asked what colors I wanted and any other personal touches. The cake was delicious! My fiancé was very pleased. Everyone at the party enjoyed it. I know because I made sure to ask. It really was so good. Not too sweet and soft, fluffy cake with a perfect pineapple filling in the middle. I will be going back to get more birthday cakes from here for future birthday celebrations.

Yelp
My go to for true Puerto Rican home cooking when visiting Buffalo. Only thing missing from the menu is monfungo and expresso. Everything I have tried is excellent.

Sofia W.

Yelp
Great food and service! I had carne frita y arroz con guandules and jugo de maracuya. Everything was perfect!

Kelly H.

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful. I ordered a Tres Leche cake at the last minute (night before) and they made sure it was ready the following day! The bakery is outstanding! Haven't had anything else since the new owners came in. I plan on going back for a meat patty and other Caribbean delicacies.

Emma B.

Yelp
Friendly staff, patient with me ordering off menu because I wanted something vegetarian.

Moe L.

Yelp
Went here a long time with a friend and recently went back by myself to get a particular item. I can say I wil not return. Took a long time for my order to be taken even thought I was one of only two people waiting in line and there were 3 people behind the counter. When my order was finally taken it took a long time for my food to be prepare and I was so close to just walking out and going across the street. Also fellow customer was rude constantly walking in front of me like I was invisible but that's another story. When I receive my food the meat taste stale and was not what I expected when I brought this item before.
