"Alamo City has more than its fair share of solid Tex-Mex spots, but few are as beautiful as this longtime favorite, especially at the Dellview location. On the patio, babbling fountains, neon lights, and fluttering papel picado start the pachanga, kicked into high gear with a punchy chispa (that’s a punchier, less sweet margarita for those who don’t speak San Antonio). Order from the parrilla for the ideal La Fogata experience, and try to avoid filling up on the fire-roasted salsa. There are DoorDash deliveries; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Brandon Watson

Google
Great Mexican restaurant. the food came out hot and well prepared. The flavors were rich. The cost per dish was a little bit higher than your typical Mexican restaurant. The overall atmosphere of this location is very inviting and unique. there is a very large patio area for outside however, since we dined at this location in January, we are much more comfortable inside due to the Colder temperatures outside. The service that we had tonight was slow. We had to grab the server and it still took him about 10 minutes to finally come back to refill our drinks and take our order. This is the reason I gave them 4 stars. The parking lot is very large and separate in different sections so if you can’t find parking in one part, keep driving through or around the location you’ll probably be able to find parking however, I’m sure that when they have a large parties or big happy hours that this can be very difficult so be patient. I think it’d be worth it. I recommend this location and look forward to coming back next time I’m in San Antonio.

Preflight dinner in San Antonio, get a little Mexican food before returning home. Food was good. Enchilada combo was excellent, Service was good, pretty typical with photographers and musicians wandering around. Would’ve been better if the woman at the table next to me didn’t have her speakerphone going.

Buckle up, foodies—this review is about to take you on a flavorful rollercoaster with a few cheeky bumps along the way. Let’s get into it: writing this was like trying to decide between tacos or fajitas—nearly impossible! A 5-star rating is my version of a mic drop, meaning absolute culinary perfection, but La Fogata? Oh honey, they’re a hidden gem worth uncovering. First things first—the food. I was ready to crown them kings of flavor town, but those flour tortillas? Meh. No corn option? Sigh. Missed opportunity, babes. But let me tell you, those frijoles a la charra? Packed with flavor and just enough sass to keep me happy. Now the rice? That was a moment. Fluffy, seasoned to the gods, and prettier than your best Insta filter. We tried the Un Pocito de Todo (translation: a little of everything and a whole lot of fabulous) This”little bit of everything” plate? Enchilada—chef’s kiss. Quesadilla—crisp, cheesy perfection. Flauta—crunchy nirvana. Fajita taco—stuffed with meat so juicy it could star in its own rom-com. Tacos norteños. Those tacos? Tender, well-seasoned, and honestly, a love letter to my taste buds. Now, let’s talk about the margarita. Ohhh, that margarita. No mixes, no nonsense, just triple sec, lime juice, and tequila—the holy trinity of cocktails. It was like drinking sunshine with a wink. One sip and I was transported to margarita heaven, where artificial flavors dare not tread. La Fogata, you’re not perfect, but you’re perfectly worth it. Go for the tacos, stay for the margaritas, and if they ever get their tortilla game together? Total showstopper.

Google
La Fogata Mexican restaurant was recommended to me. So a friend and I decided to give it a try. The parking lot is fair sizes and there are a couple different areas to park. But on a busy night I bet the parking is packed. There is parking on the street as well. When you enter the restaurant, you enter into a courtyard and you are greeted by a host or hostess. They ask where you prefer to sit whether it’s inside or outside. on this visit, we sat inside the restaurant. The decor is simple, but bright. We ordered margaritas on the rocks and I thought it was an excellent margarita. We ordered dinner and we ordered beef fajitas. The service and food were excellent. I have been back on a second occasion with a large party and they were able to accommodate us. Again, the service was outstanding and the food was excellent.

Google
Super cute place with fantastic margaritas! The edible flower was a nice touch. I had fajitas and they were so tender and delicious. We went on a Tuesday so it wasn’t too busy but I can imagine it gets busy on the weekends. We will definitely be back for a future taco Tuesday!

Google
Definitely a nice place to eat very aesthetic and cute, however the food unfortunately cannot be customized 😢 I ordered a Chile Relleno and asked multiple times if I could get a mixed one with both the cheese and the picadillo waiter assured me they could. To my surprise they just burnt cheese on top of and under the chile and I say burnt because the majority of it was stuck to the plate since the plate was so hot kind of like it just came out of the microwave. Picadillo is good even if it’s from the day before. I’d say there was just some misinformation but then the waiter told me they were already pre made and couldn’t be modified. I should have just gotten the flautas instead 😒

Jose S. Was a very bad server. I don't know if he was too busy, but we took the brut of it. My sister was celebrating her 65th birthday and wanted to go somewhere where we could have drinks and appetizers while we waited for her husband to arrive. We were ignored for most of our time. Food was good drinks were good. Service horrible.

Google
Had planned to eat at Vance Jackson location in San Antonio, but service was lethargic & in the minus category on helpfulness. Accommodations weren't as restaurant quality as they should have been. Customers waiting in outdoor area on an evening when temperatures were in the high 30's to low 40's with a good, cold breeze-rates extremely low in my opinion. Did NOT stay for food.

Yelp
This is my special place. I ate here 30 years ago when I graduated from college and here I am.... Very nostalgic afternoon and the place was how I remembered...from the look of the restaurant in and out, fantastic staff and great food and margaritas. It took me 30 years to come back for some reason but it just felt right and at home. It won't be another 30 years before I walk into again. That's for sure.

Yelp
La Fogata Mexican Cuisine has been a San Antonio staple since 1978, serving up classic Tex-Mex dishes and famous margaritas in a vibrant, festive atmosphere. Known for its lush patios, colorful decor, and family-friendly vibe, it's a great spot for everything from a casual dinner to a celebratory gathering. On my most recent visit, I tried the Poquito De Todo platter for the first time--literally "a little bit of everything." Perfect for when your taste buds just can't make up their mind! The platter includes a beef taco al carbon, a chicken flauta with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese, a quesadilla, and a cheese enchilada. It's all served up with Mexican rice and frijoles charros. The enchiladas verdes are also a tasty choice I usually go with. While it might not be the best Tex-Mex you'll find in San Antonio, La Fogata always a solid and satisfying choice. And of course, the margaritas here never miss. Whether it's happy hour or a big celebration, they're always refreshing and on point-especially the coconut margs. (Bonus: the team at La Fogata is fantastic at helping you pull off a celebration seamlessly!) La Fogata is one of those reliable places you can count on for great service, quality food, and an all-around good time. Definitely worth a visit when you're craving Tex-Mex with a fun and lively ambiance!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my first visit here with a date ... many years ago. My last visit here was a huge disappointment. I was in the area, and decided to treat myself. It was an afternoon and it didn't appear to be busy. I just wanted to place a to-go order because I was on my way back home. I was told where to go, but no one greeted me. No one asked if they could help me. Zero service altogether. So I left.

Doc S.

Yelp
Still our favorite for Mexican food. Superb service, delicious food, great variety, a lively place!

Yelp
Great patio areas. Feels like a "little Mexico" Came on a rainy day so we didn't hang out outside but it was still great vibes. Ordered the Enchilada Mixtas & Half chicken/beef fajita plate and they were all delicious. Salsa seemed a bit off, tasted like too much limon was used but still good. The star is definitely the rice and beans. Service was good from the older gentleman who seemed to be the only server that afternoon Reasoning for 4 stars is we had to deal w flies in a very big/open seating area, probably due to the plants we were seated next to. Will definitely come back during dinner service to try and get a feel for the bar/patio area.

Brad S.

Yelp
San Antonio stable is always a go to. Food is always great and delicious. The service is exquisite and welcoming. And the ambiance is awesome as well. I recommend at least going once if you haven't before.

Joey A.

Yelp
Food is fresh . The vibes are on point. The service is good! I appreciate the cooks in the back and the bartenders ! They're the real ones! Will definitely come back as always ! I love the chips and salsa !

Yelp
It has been a long while since we've been here and our visit today was really fantastic. This is the original and it features an amazing outdoor and patio area; rustic but well loved adding to the ambiance of a night out in Old Mexico. I had the Tacos Discada which were wonderfully plated with grilled vegetables, and white rice. The tacos featured lean pork steak which was so tender, it flaked like fish. The vegetables were perfect; they had a nice crunch to them, neither raw nor mushy. (The bell peppers were like candy...so sweet) The salsa was favorable roasted pepper which for me, could have had a bit more heat, but I'm sure you could ask for a hotter blend. Our waiter kept our soda glasses filled without asking and the staff were all very attentive. Great stop! We'll be coming back.

Kimberly K.

Yelp
The outside patio and ambiance is deserving of a star by itself. It's a beautiful, tranquil oasis with fountains and soft ambient lighting. A group of five of us came here for dinner on a Thursday. Ricardo was our server and he was excellent. Attentive but not overbearing. Everyone in our group had been there before so we pretty much knew what we were going to eat and drink. We all had a round of margaritas. They come in regular, medium and large and the medium was more than enough to last the entire meal. I tried to cucumber flavor with fresh jalapeños for an added kick. It was perfect. I'm not a big margarita drinker in general but the margaritas here are the real deal. Flavorful and boozy. A winning combination! Everything we tried was flavorful and tasty. Was it remarkable? No but it was good. Extra mention for the barracho beans. They were excellent! My friend raved about the chili rolleno. It did look good and judging by his empty plate I think it's worth trying next time. The prices were a little high for food and drinks but portions were large and there was enough to take home for lunch the next day. I also feel the ambiance justifies the higher prices.

Yelp
We were a party of 11-12. The wait staff did not want to put tables together for us. We are seniors so should not be moving tables. Our waitress was clearly put out when one of our party asked for something. I had Nachos. Way too much cheese. Won't be going back any time soon if ever at al.

Anderson B.

Yelp
Buena comida y muy excelente servicio, la comida es muy rica y el ambiente y la valides excelente

Yelp
San Antonio staple and yes THIS IS the BEST location- BY FAR. Always nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the mariachis. Service is always great. The food is what you have come to know and expect. Definitely worth a visit on a nice day to wind down. Relax. Have a drink. Enjoy the food and music. Go see them soon.

Brian B.

Yelp
It had been some time since I had ventured to La Fogata. My wife and I had received a couple of gift cards the past couple of Christmases so we decided to put them to use. It was such a perfect day to sit out on the patio too! We were seated promptly after we arrived. Sadly, the patio area was closed Not sure if this is a common thing cause they are possibly short staffed? Bummer! We started out with a couple of drinks. My wife had a pina colada and I went with a top shelf fogata margarita. They both hit the spot! The waiter brought us chips and salsa to snack on while we decided on what to order. I thought the roasted salsa was great! I decided on the un poquito de todo plate. I really liked the variety on this plate and everything tasted good. Especially the beef fajita taco! I really enjoyed my visit. However, I was really down due to the perfect weather and not being seated in the patio section! I will likely be back just hope the patio is open and not too hot out!

Margaret R.

Yelp
The ambience at La Fogata is awesome and cannot be beat. Truly wonderful however the food does not match. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was garden variety, frozen shrimp and a good sauce but just nothing special. My husband had the tortilla soup which was too much chili powder in the soup it was extremely strong with the chili I think, the Chicharrón on the side of the soup was excellent for $43 I expected more out of La Fogata

Teofila R.

Yelp
Shrimp was delicious, charro beans too and rice and pico de gallo. Our waiter did good despite having to wait on 40 divas! We were seated inside near a beautiful Christmas tree. Mariachis were available at $10 a song since there was only two.

Ruthie W.

Yelp
We decided to visit @lafogatasa for Dad's birthday dinner tonight, mainly for the mariachi experience. Dad had the Fresh Lemonade, I had the Strawberry Margarita, and my husband had the Frozen Mango Margarita. Dad wanted soup, so I ordered the bowl of Caldo for him to share with my husband. Dad and I shared the Huachinango, which was red snapper with vegetables and rice. Dad wasn't too crazy for the fish. It seemed missing sauce. At best, it was 3 stars. My husband had the Beef Fajita. Since there's no complimentary birthday dessert, we had Churros, which is Dad's favorite. We were about to leave when I spotted a member of the mariachi. We sat back down and enjoyed the performance. That would be the highlight!

Ken M.

Yelp
first, out waiter was so soft spoken we had to ask him multiple times to speak up,as we could not hear him. no, there wants a large or loud party nearby, he was just very soft spoken. and he wasn't around very much. next, the queso was so floury, it wasn't edible. we left most of it,,and the waiter didn't ask why margs were good now, the bad. I have been on the toilet most of the afternoon and evening of the next day. I didn't eat anything after eating here. my partner is fighting me for the toilet as well.......we had bananas and apple for breakfast yesterday so,I doubt they were the cause......

Yelp
We are native San Antonians and have eaten practically every restaurant in SA and surrounding areas. Lafogata has hit rock-bottom! The service (or LACK of service) was extremely disappointing. But their food has gone downhill over the past few years. We knew this walking into Lafogata. We haven't been back there in over a year because of this! But we were celebrating a relatives birthday and we had no say in the matter. We had a relatively large party of 15. But afterwards, everyone shared the same sediment regarding their poor service and horrible overpriced food. It's one thing to charge $18-$30 per plate for GOOD food and good service. Unfortunately, Lafogata doesn't offer either of these! This will be the LAST time we will ever go to Lafogata and will warn others as well! Such a disappointment!

Yelp
After having a really bad meal at a restaurant on The Riverwalk, was great getting this recommendation for La Fogata. We enjoyed it so much that we returned again for dinner the next night with family during our stay in San Antonio. Wish there was such a place in Houston with such incredible Mexican food and fantastic ambience. I'm really picky when it comes to Tex-Mex, prefer more authentic flavor and La Fogata didn't disappoint. The place was very busy with a long wait both visits but service was still great. The wait isn't bad because the courtyard is so pretty and tranquil plus there's an outside bar window and the bartenders operate quickly. The margarita was best I've had in a while (on the rocks, requested not sweet), just perfect! Anytime we're visiting San Antonio, we'll have at least one dinner at La Fogata.

Yelp
16 Jul 2023 Our monthly friends lunch... We had been going to Maria Bonita and decided to mix it up. When we pulled up at noon, I was concerned that there wasn't many cars in the lot. We go in and customers are scattered throughout, but not as many as I would think for Sunday lunch. We ordered flautas (served with a small bowl of chicken soup and rice), grilled chicken breast plate and a chicken mole plate. All was tasty except for the soup - nice chunks of chicken breast, small cubes of avocado and onion but alas, the broth had no flavor. It's as if the seasoning was forgotten. Not even salt. We ordered the churros for dessert. Three fairly long churros stuffed with what tasted like tres leches and then drizzled with honey. Delicious. They are a little pricier than some places. Give them a try.

Hope A.

Yelp
Excellent experience! Wonderful atmosphere and our lunch was over the top. The meats were juicy and tender. The margaritas were sooo good. Our server was attentive and helped with our selections. Highly recommend.

Virginia G.

Yelp
Every single time I would drive by this place, it's so brightly lit up and so decorative that I've always wanted to stop by. I decided to throw my mom a surprise dinner party here. I sent my SIL ahead and distracted my mom for 2 hours. Since we were a large party , we had a long wait time. The hosts were so sweet and kept us updated pretty much throughout the whole wait time. In the end , we decided to sit outside, it was sooooo hot, I was honestly dreading it but they have fans placed throughout the outside sitting area, which made it bearable. Our waitress was so patient with us, she was the sweetest. One thing I absolutely loved was that they have a mariachi band there, who is also super affordable. As far as the food, I wouldn't call it authentic Mexican food. Maybe more like Tex-Mex? It was ok, I liked it but didn't absolutely love it. But I'm glad we went and tried it.

Carolyn P.

Yelp
The menu is large with something for everyone. I'd highly recommend the especialidades section. There were lots of flavors there you don't find on other menus. I ordered the house margarita. It was basic fresh flavors and very good. Guacamole for the table was fresh cut for us. It was truly just avocados with salt and lime. Adding pico was given as an option by the server. We added it but it wasn't much quantity wise. Queso dip was plain with little more than just the cheese. The salsa served with the chips was amazing.

Amy M.

Yelp
Wow! La Fogata is surely one of the most beautiful Mexican restaurants in town. The outdoor patio is perfect for dining when the temperatures are pleasant. We visited on New Year's Eve and there was a bit of a wait. We received complementary chips and salsa as soon as we were seated. Salsa is homemade with a good spicy kick. In addition, we ordered the chips and queso but the queso was not so great, almost velveeta like. As entrees we ordered the chicken and beef tacos al carbon which were very delicious. My brother ordered the caldo de pollo which he enjoyed very much. I ordered the cheese enchiladas which were also tasty. Prices are a bit high but portions are generous and the ambience can't be beat. I'm definitely excited to return again during happy hour for their margaritas which look so quenching! Also, thank you to the staff for working on New Year's Eve :)

Emy D.

Yelp
Food was okay. I'd recommend this place for drinks outside in the patio but would skip the food next time. Patio was super cute and bright!

Jewel S.

Yelp
I'm sure the food is great but the customer service isn't for take out or to go. It's only 11:40am, I don't need the attitude.

Monique D.

Yelp
Food and service were amazing! This is the second time we have eaten here and have loved everything we have tried. Highly recommended!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Starving after work + good company + good margs = a good time. Giving 4 stars strict for the fact I spent $40 and got a margarita and an enchilada plate. I easily ate the entire plate of food but portion was still decent. Taste wise, wow!! It certainly was quality food, spicy enough to just make you go " ahh." Margaritas were Delicious and strong! Love the outdoor patio, perfect for a group to chat and hang out. The seclusion of the restaurant makes you almost feel like you're not right next to a busy street, personally loved the environment!

Eric J.

Yelp
We finally got a chance to check out this location...... Major bummer!!!! We've had good experiences at other locations and unfortunately that wasn't replicated here. Overpriced and underdelivered seemed to be our takeaway. First, we had to wander around the facility for a bit to even find someone to point us in the direction of an employee that could seat us. The service was okay for the most part, but it wasn't anything to rave about. We ordered a cheese dip which came out rather underwhelming. From appearances, I would guess it was heated in the microwave as there was dried cheese pushed upwards to the rim of the dish. The real disappointment is that for $10 you would anticipate more than one eighth of an inch of cheese in the bottom of a dish. I'm pretty sure there was enough cheese for around a dozen chips. 2 out of our three main dishes were okay, one dish had chicken tortilla soup that was still cold. As in refrigerated all night and poured into the bowl. Some of the guacamole was clearly aged as it had the typical browning of the top layer that occurs over time. So, we will not be heading back to La Fogata Mexican Cuisine on Vance Jackson anytime soon. There's a LOT of places that offer better prices providing a better experience and food, which is why we go right!?!

Shelene L.

Yelp
This was my first visit and the food was tasty. I ordered the Chile Relleno with ground beef. It was the standard loaded with picadillo and topped with cheese. The sides were refried beans and rice, which were also standard. They offer fresh, squeezed lemonade, which was quite refreshing. Portions are hearty, so come hungry. Since I was dining in a larger group, I was able to sample a few items ordered by friends. I recommend the chips and queso as an appetizer. The queso was well seasoned, even a little bit spicy, but not too much. I also recommend the Molé enchiladas. If you like Molé, having it over, an enchilada is a real treat. Finally, I recommend the steak A la Mexicana. It was soooo tender. I'll definitely order that in the future. The atmosphere is so cute. After parking, you walk through what I would consider as a nontraditional entry. The doorway leads to an incredible courtyard which has different dining areas. So cute! If you are in the neighborhood, definitely give this place a try.

Mary Ann C.

Yelp
The drinks were really pretty but not worth the price especially when the drink quality doesn't meet the price. My drink was bland. It had no real flavor. I had tried my sister in laws drink to see if it was just mine and hers looked pretty but it too lacked flavor. We both agree it wasn't worth it. The menu they have for big party was very lack luster. Wasn't much to choose from and what they had was blah. I'd rather go to Henry puffy taco or go across the street and ate at fatt boys burgers and dogs. I had gotten their chicken dish. Their chicken was very dry and bland. There wasn't enough water to wash it down it was that dry to me. The atmosphere was pretty but that's about it. No real substance as far as food goes.

Marisa P.

Yelp
Review 600? What? After reviewing that many places I get a bit nostalgic about so many great places that have closed down over the years, and so many treasures shuttered during covid. La Fogata is one of those places that has withstood the test of time. I think the first time I ate here I was in a high chair. This is *the* place to take friends and family from out of town. It's not uncommon to be asked "Hey what is that place with the really good margaritas where we eat outside with the fountains?" Speaking of margaritas La Fogata makes award winning margaritas in all different flavors frozen or on the rocks. They serve them with the most beautiful flowers. As for food you can't really go wrong with anything. The guacamole made tableside is great for a group, the queso flameado is the best cheesy dip for an appetizer, and the sizzling fajitas hit the spot. They make all different types of enchiladas including a homemade mole sauce. The salsa here is famous, not sure if it is still sold in grocery stores. I don't know the secret, but it tastes good on everything. Cheers to La Fogata and many more years of service.

Shanesta H.

Yelp
This little oasis is perfect. The birds, the water fountains, the greenery...amazing. the servers were really nice, had the multi colored chips and tasty salsa. The steak tacos...they were so juicy! You didn't need any seasoning for this meat! The beans were hearty, and the rice was filling. I will definitely be back. There may be a wait depending on the day, and if you do, they have a bar you can grab a drink.

Mike G.

Yelp
If it is a great food coupled with cultural experience that you're looking for, look no more!! la Fogata has great Mexican Food coupled with fun filled ambience (mariachis playing in the background). All the dishes we ordered were of great authentic quality food. Oh, don't forget the margaritas with the top shelf tequila! Great service, too! A place that will definitely be on my favorites to come back to.

Suzy B.

Yelp
My family and I celebrated my birthday yesterday at La Fogata and had an amazing time. Service was pretty good (kind of slow but nothing to complain about), reservations were easy to make and we were seated immediately, mariachi band was on point and sang happy bday to me!, margaritas were delicious as usual, food was okay. I ordered chips & queso for our large party and let me tellllll you how amazing that queso was!!!! I do wish they had more salsa to choose from. However, the roasted salsa they do have is spicy and doable. Chips were fresh so I loved that. I had Al pastor tacos for my main dish (charro beans as a side) - tacos were ok. Meat had a weird flavor but maybe that's just how Al pastor tastes and I never noticed before. The charro beans were unfortunately very bland. They need more seasoning, maybe more onions and peppers? I wish they had an option of spicy (chipotle pepper) charro beans because that would help the flavor so much! Besides my food, my family seemed to love their food. Drinks were all great. I absolutely love the atmosphere of the whole restaurant and love the patio for pictures and for my littlest kids to run around. Thank you again La Fogata for a great dinner!!

James R.

Yelp
drinks and food were great even though kinda pricey for afternoon lunch. Took 40 mins to get table due to low staffing not the crowd by any means. Then the server was the oldest slowest server I have ever had in 3 decades of going to restaurants. it was like a skit from Carol Burnett show with Tim Conway as the oldest man. My date just laughed, we joked we should order martinis since they would come shaken. Nice guy, just very slow and very forgetful. When sat down and he approached, I gave him the menus and placed our order for food and drinks. He returned with drinks and water, then asked me if I wanted some menus to order from, I was like "we already ordered", he checks his shirt pocket and goes oh yes you did. SMH....we were one of two couples he was serving, then when order arrived he tried to give it to other table next to us. like I said food was very good, we had the combination fajitas. Date had mezcal margarita and loved it.

Ronnie S.

Yelp
Food was good, service was not so good .our waitress would be gone for long periods of time. I got up and walked around to find her but couldn't find her. We had to wait 10 minutes to get our check.

Mozelle M.

Yelp
The manager is rude and not accommodating. I wouldn't have dinner here again. Food isn't as good as it used to be. It was bland. Our waitress was nice and did her best

Joshua M.

Yelp
Why is this place still beloved? Visited here for Mother's Day. The facility needs upgrading. The restrooms are unchanged for decades. The back patio needs more fans. The food is below mediocre. I could make better enchiladas at home. The margaritas have no prices (they're $13). Despite subpar food they're proud of their output and chargers $15-$18 for a plate which is wild. I've visited for the last time. Definitely not worth the money.

Yelp
I agree with the previous review. I would not patronize this establishment. As one of the few Mexican American families at the time I felt targeted by mgmt. our party made included elderly, and adult professionals being asked to move to make room for other patrons was unacceptable. The situation was handled very badly. If you want to have good Mexican food I recommend going to a Mexican owned establishment.

Yelp
We ventured over to this location because of their bit one-get one special. From the moment we walked in we were greeted, whisked to our table and our server started taking care of us right away. I had the $5 margarita which was excellent, well mixed and tasty!!! We both ordered the One of Everything Platter and had so much food for $20 we had plenty to take home for lunch the next day. Everything was hot, fresh and very tasty! Weill will be back!!!!

Yelp
We hadn't been to La Fogata in a while so we tried it last night and we were thoroughly disappointed. First, the waiter was not very friendly and was rude at times. Second, the food was cold and bland but most surprisingly were the charro beans which looked and tasted like canned pinto beans or, as some said, pork and beans. I doubt that we'll go back.

Yelp
Went to the IH 10 location at 10:00 on A Friday night. Despite the website and the sign at the entrance saying it closed at 11:00, we we told they closed at 10. Not cool. Also got a bad attitude from the hostess that it 'wasn't her fault'. Advertise with honesty.

Yelp
Food is average. Margaritas and Chispas are great. The service is hit or miss. I'd recommend sitting on their patio.

Yelp
We had been loyal customers till tonight... we even had our parents 65th wedding anniversary dinner here. We consisted of a party of 8 there to celebrate an early Mother's Day. After we were done with dinner and having drinks and dessert we were approached by our waitress asking us to move to the adjoining table because they needed to accommodate a party of 30. We were kind enough to move. A few minutes later we were informed that now we would have to vacate the table completely and move to the waiting area or the "bar." I asked to speak to the manager and he even mentioned the fact that we had exceeded our time (even though it is t written anywhere) and that TABC limited drinks to two per person. How he knew how many drinks we had had....i don't know. Manager said his name was David Dominguez.

Yelp
Food is really good, salsa can be a bit more spicy( I like spicy, Indian spicy). Service is really good. We were seated outside a perfect seating for San Antonio weather.

Yelp
I love this restaurant! The vibes, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the staff. Everything is 5 stars. I've been several times. This last time was for my birthday dinner. I made a reservation for 20 and that was that. No fee, no limited menu, no problem with separating tickets and the service was excellent. I love the outside patio area. They have an outside bar area so you can order drinks while you wait for your table. The meals are reasonably priced for the type of restaurant it is. This place never disappoints.

Yelp
The food is mediocre. Ambience is nice for a lunch meeting, a birthday occasion, or a get together after church. Sit inside. Flies are bad outside. Service is fine. The person walking around taking photos can be a little pushy. The only complaint I have is that I saw a young man in the kitchen eating a taco where the food is prepped. The staff shouldn't be eating in this area. He saw me look over at him and he left the area to finish his food. I'd suggest to management they need to remind their staff of the food safety training requirements.
