Yesterday I picked up my favorite flight attendant from LAX, and we decided to grab something to eat near the airport. We ended up at La Fonda’s in Inglewood, and honestly, the experience started before we even walked in, the sign on the front door set the tone for the whole visit. It was hilarious, blunt, and so real that I instantly respected the vibe.
Inside, the restaurant didn’t look like the typical bright, fiesta style Mexican spot. It was clean, modern, and surprisingly minimal in the best way. The menu was easy to read, the vegan options were clearly marked, and they even had a self‑serve water station and a word‑search puzzle station, which I thought was such a cute touch.
The two gentlemen working that day were amazing. Our waiter was super attentive, and the server who brought out our food had us laughing. The cucumber/lemon water was refreshing, and the piña jurritos was delicious. We both ordered mini tacos, mine came with a side of rice and beans. The chips and salsa were A1, and the red sauce was very spicy but still flavorful. They even served beans with the chips, just like in Nacho Libre if you know, you know.
I didn’t try any alcoholic drinks since I was driving, but we’re already planning to go back for the margaritas. The server recommended the spicy marg, so that’s definitely first on my list next time.
