La Fontaine

This is a lovely local cafe - nice chilled atmosphere on a Sunday morning. Just one thing…I’m all for a bit of shabby chic but the coffee cup I had was a bit too shabby and definitely past being chic! But as a local cafe it has an authentic charm and seemed like a nice place to spend a few hours.

Very nice bar bistrot with some typical French dishes. The "planche" is a delicious mix of cured meat, cheeses, spreads and you have to have the melted Montfort cheese! The desserts are yummy!! We had the chocolate mousse, crème brûlée and the pear/figs tart. It wasn't packed but busy enough to create just the right atmosphere.

I loved going to La Fontaine but I’ll never go again after today. I ordered a tartare of salmon and clams and I felt sick and had to go to the restroom after 15 minutes, even though I felt perfectly fine beforehand. I left 90% of the food on my plate and informed one of the waiters. What disappoints me is not the food, because it can happen that one clams among 100 of them is not good or there may be many explanations for that, but it’s how the dealt with the situation that really show what kind of place this is. If this happened in Italy where I come from or in a good restaurant, the manager and the chef wouldn’t have made you pay for that, because they’d have felt mortified. I expected at least a discount or that they offered me something to make up for this, even just for courtesy, like a soup or something simple and instead they made me pay full price, saying the problem was not in their food but in my stomach. They should know better that when it comes to seafood, it doesn’t matter how many customers had the same plate before, I could have been the one getting the bad clam…If I wanted to scam them I would have eaten at least half of the plate. I truly don’t understand their poor behavior.

I came here for the coroque for breakfast, but they only serve it in the afternoon. There were no information about this serving time which wasted my time going here and upseted me alot. I odered "Fromage blanc au muesli" and a cappuccino which cost 10€. It was yogurt with some special cereal and honey. The dish was not bad but nothing special. The cappuccino was ok. This is a cute, cozy shop at the corner of the street in Paris. Apart from unclear serving information, everything was acceptable

I’ve eaten here a couple of times now and love it! Staff are super nice and they always have at least one really good vegetarian option. The food is always beautifully presented. Only a small suggestion - sometimes the vegetarian dishes miss a little protein so it would be great to include an egg or some cheese to make it fully balanced 🙏

Perfect place to have a brunch on a sunny day. went there for the terrace seats, it was a little bit too much sunlight with no shadows right in front of the cafe but across the street there are colorful tables and chairs with nice tree shadows! and the noisette was good for its price. they only take cards when you spend more than 10 euros, so prepare cash if you will just have drinks!

Good food , but overpriced paid 18€ for a burger when the area and the restaurant don’t justify the price . Also , the chai latte was terrible.

We came here because this cafe was rated one of the best cafes in the world by GQ UK and boy, they were so right! The food, the lovely waitresses and the ambiance was great! The cafe creme was soo good that I had to order another. My only regret is that we were leaving Paris the next evening and couldn't make it here again for breakfast. Can't wait to be back!

Very cute little cafe near Canal St. Martin. Cozy inside with kind staff and good prices! I enjoyed spending my morning journaling there!

Came here to get a sandwich fix because so many sites and blogs had their jambon beurre listed as one of the city's best. They no longer offer it! Ended up having their lunch set menu instead, which was fine.

Pain Perduuuu... this girl has been in France for two months now and until now had only found her French Toast fix at American diners around Paris... until now! Thoroughly soaked in egg - maybe three eggs - and then grilled and dusted with powdered sugar with a side of sweet tangy yogurt and fruit. Heaven! I didn't even miss maple syrup. Toss in some of that fruit-forward Belleville brew coffee and I was doing little happy dances on the inside.

After an initial bumpy first impression shortly after opening, I can say with confidence after like twenty visits that this café is pretty awesome. The place grows on you with time because it's classiness and quality is so subtle. The redesign of the original neighborhood bistro was so perfectly done. The light just pours in and the space always seems so airy and minimalist even when it's bustling with its uber hipster clientele. What I love most about this place is that everything is delicious. The coffee is stellar, especially the filer coffee, the quinoa salad is divine, the ham and butter baguette is the best I've ever had in my life. You can tell that a lot of attention has gone into serving the best possible version of the limited items on the menu. The owner, one of the brothers behind La Belleville brulerie, explained that they have a special water filter in the basement that is used to make the coffee smooth and fragrant. And while I would typically fault them for not having free WIFI I work around it by using my own phone as a hotspot and actually enjoy that I'm the only one working on a computer here.

You know what - when I come to Paris this is exactly the sort of place I want to be spending my time in, there's just no room to spend it in half arsed Parisian coffee shops and food houses when places as authentic as this place exist. J'adore the Parisian high window aesthetics which are perfect for people watching which can sometimes become too distracting (although ultimately entertaining due to chic fashion, small cute dogs and potential bicycle over handlebar incidents due to the crazy roads) We didn't have time for food on this occasion but the coffee was purely excellent. The staff also were a delight and the overall ambience excellent. This place wins on all levels!

This place was so cute. Huge plus that everyone we interacted with spoke English. Service was fantastic. The coffee was great. We ordered the ham and butter sandwiches and holy smokes... best ham I've ever had in my life!

Rustic, cozy and eclectic atmosphere. The staff are warm and extremely helpful and the service is super fast. The menu is affordable and short, but everything is made well. Perfect for a light breakfast or quick coffee. We returned here the next morning and would recommend to anyone passing in the area.

Accidentally went to their roastery first which is just around the corner. Live jazz was cool. Very local atmosphere. I had a hot chocolate for €4. Tasted like they slow melted dark chocolate into milk yum! Can be hard to find seats depending on when you go though.

The decor is adorable, it wasn't crowded, and there's a nice vibe. However the service was a huge disappointment at breakfast time. I ordered a hard-boiled egg and a sablé, and my friend ordered a soft-boiled egg with toast. My egg came pretty quickly (although was missing the mayonnaise it was supposed to come with), but after 30 minutes we were still waiting for the sablé and my friend's breakfast. When we finally tracked down the waitress (she had been studiously avoiding eye contact), it became clear that she forgot about my friend's dish and the sablé. To top it all off, when we got the check at the end, the waitress had double-charged for my friend's dish. It took another 10 minutes to finally get the waitress's attention to remove the double charge. All in all, it took us about 90 minutes to get 2 coffees, 2 eggs, some bread, and a premade pastry.

I have been to this place a few times. It is VERY cute, lovely atmosphere and great location. However, the service is very bad. There were two of us, and one of us got our order, and the completely forgot the other. We ordered a cookie, located at the bar right behind us and had to ask for it twice. Then once we got the check, we had been double charged. Cute, but there are better places in Paris for what it offers.
