"Fontaine Daniel is the epitome of a French country village steeped in history and the birthplace of the famous toiles de Mayenne fabrics. Overlooking a pond and the forest, this restaurant is housed in a former outbuilding of a Cistercian abbey, which became the hub of this textile manufacturing enterprise in the 19C. Chef William Blondel, who has worked as far afield as New Zealand, cooks primarily with local produce that he doesn’t hesitate to enhance with modern and creative twists of his own creation. It’s unique, sometimes unsettling, but always hits the spot, depicted by dishes like mackerel, cauliflower and a coffee-based sauce!" - Michelin Inspector

Great restaurant with excellent quality food that was very tasty. Not the cheapest but worth it in my opinion. I had the terrine, followed by the entrecôte charolaise which was perfectly cooked and delicious.

Scallops are heavenly light, meat cooked to perfection, great blue cheese sauce and incredibly fluffy and rich chocolate muss! We enjoyed every meal and atmosphere l, it was the right decision to celebrate Valentine's day here!

Our visit was absolutely delightful! It's an excellent spot for a delicious dinner. The setting is peaceful and comfortable, and the service is friendly. Not to be missed, the proprietor brews his own cognac, so definitely take the opportunity to sample it!

La Forge French Restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere with fast and friendly customer service that enhances the dining experience. The food is outstanding, particularly their French-style steak, which is both popular and delicious. The fries and sides complemented the meal perfectly, and the bread was exceptional. A highlight of my visit was their homemade wines, which were incredibly delicious and surpassed even the food in my estimation. I highly recommend La Forge to travelers in Paris. Explore their menu, especially the wine selection, for a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of French cuisine and hospitality.

La Forge is a magnificent restaurant! The service was impeccable and the staff was super nice. We arrived right at opening time in the evening and was greeted as if we were long time friends by the hosts. What a wonderful experience. We ordered the pâté and escargots for starters and shared a 1kg meat for main. It was almost more than we could eat 3 people. The taste and quality of the food was truly 5 star in my opinion. I highly recommend eating here. If I come back to Paris this is a must go to for me.

Only a first impression and I really wanted to like it but good food accompanied by incredibly slow service (even by French standards) killed this place. The older gentleman two tables over from me waited for about forty minutes between appetizer and entree, so long in fact that he stabbed his steak knife into the table and glared at the staff. Now, I don't approve of such behavior, and it was as awkward as it was entertaining, but it was nice to know it wasn't just me who got the service at the speed of a snail. Also, the à point steak came out bien cuit. Though I will say the fois gras was delicious and the sauces and fries that accompanied the steak were also good. I'll give the place another shot but it's a bit of a gamble to go in my opinion.

Very nice food. We had escargots and filet mignon and canard. And for dessert french toast and apple pie. Crowded, but still the owner made sure we got enough attention and didn’t need to wait too long.

A fantastic meat based restaurant. The taste and quality of food were "out of this world", as my food and hospitality industry expert friend said. The lamb was an absolutely new experience for me in this quality. They have their own cognac which was really great. Their wine selection was perfect, and our waiter knew that perfectly, so he had a good conversation about them with the expert of our group. The desserts and bread were fantastic as well. So it is hard to say anything else, than it is a real a 5 stars bistro.

Yelp
We just decided to try La Forge because it was time for lunch and we were there. Luck rather than decision made for an outstanding meal.

Yelp
You'll never find a course menu here for lunch. I visited after seeing the latest reviews, but they just shouted 'no' at me. They talked about the time. When I said it wasn't even 13:30 yet, they said 'okay'. I ordered because I thought the course menu was available. But they told me there was no dessert. I had to pay all the price of the menu. If you still have access to the course menu, they are racist.
