"Fontaine Daniel is the epitome of a French country village steeped in history and the birthplace of the famous toiles de Mayenne fabrics. Overlooking a pond and the forest, this restaurant is housed in a former outbuilding of a Cistercian abbey, which became the hub of this textile manufacturing enterprise in the 19C. Chef William Blondel, who has worked as far afield as New Zealand, cooks primarily with local produce that he doesn’t hesitate to enhance with modern and creative twists of his own creation. It’s unique, sometimes unsettling, but always hits the spot, depicted by dishes like mackerel, cauliflower and a coffee-based sauce!" - Michelin Inspector

Bone marrow was good, the wine was fine for the price. However the filet de boeuf was perhaps the saddest cut of filet I've seen in my life, I'd sooner believe it was rump. This only became more disappointing after seeing the table next to me receive a nicely charred, thick cut of filet that wasn't frayed and falling apart. I would not recommend for those who can't speak French.

We visited with a group of friends. A pleasant experience with excellent service. The dishes are simple (in a positive way) and well prepared. We had a wonderful evening here.

Great restaurant with excellent quality food that was very tasty. Not the cheapest but worth it in my opinion. I had the terrine, followed by the entrecôte charolaise which was perfectly cooked and delicious.

La Forge French Restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere with fast and friendly customer service that enhances the dining experience. The food is outstanding, particularly their French-style steak, which is both popular and delicious. The fries and sides complemented the meal perfectly, and the bread was exceptional. A highlight of my visit was their homemade wines, which were incredibly delicious and surpassed even the food in my estimation. I highly recommend La Forge to travelers in Paris. Explore their menu, especially the wine selection, for a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of French cuisine and hospitality.

Scallops are heavenly light, meat cooked to perfection, great blue cheese sauce and incredibly fluffy and rich chocolate muss! We enjoyed every meal and atmosphere l, it was the right decision to celebrate Valentine's day here!

La Forge is a magnificent restaurant! The service was impeccable and the staff was super nice. We arrived right at opening time in the evening and was greeted as if we were long time friends by the hosts. What a wonderful experience. We ordered the pâté and escargots for starters and shared a 1kg meat for main. It was almost more than we could eat 3 people. The taste and quality of the food was truly 5 star in my opinion. I highly recommend eating here. If I come back to Paris this is a must go to for me.

What a great place! If you're a tourist like we are and want an authentic local experience, go to La Forge! Their specialty is meat, but we loved the baked sea bass with vegetables—tender and flavorful. Their Thai gambas salad with rice noodles is fantastic. The bread is by far the best I've had in Paris. I always judge a restaurant by its bread, and this baguette, with a perfect crust and chewy inside, is top-notch. The two gentlemen serving us are both warm and efficient. Thanks for making our evening in Paris unforgettable.

Yelp
We just decided to try La Forge because it was time for lunch and we were there. Luck rather than decision made for an outstanding meal.

Yelp
You'll never find a course menu here for lunch. I visited after seeing the latest reviews, but they just shouted 'no' at me. They talked about the time. When I said it wasn't even 13:30 yet, they said 'okay'. I ordered because I thought the course menu was available. But they told me there was no dessert. I had to pay all the price of the menu. If you still have access to the course menu, they are racist.
