La Fourchette

The best food I’ve had in Dakar. Very good quality even for European standards. It’s clean, tasty, service very attentive and sweet. We went for menu du jour and it was also very well priced, around 10500cfa for a starter plus a main meal. They also give bread and a little aperitivo of olives and peanuts at the beginning, I really appreciated that! We didn’t try the desserts because we got very full, the portions were quite good. Also inside the place is very beautiful and comfortable, so if you want to take a break from the busy and hectic Dakar streets, I really recommend having a lunch here! Consider that the evening menu is much more pricey, although the food might be even more fancy in that case.

We ordered share plate and found the salad was not clean properly. The portion was too small and didn't quite match the description. Very expensive and obviously not pocket friendly. Ambience and vibe were good. Friendly staff. But Won't be going there again.

I came here for my birthday dinner. The restaurant had an intimate ambiance so its perfect for couples.The service exceeded my expectations and was fine dining at its best. To start, we ordered the California roll and caesar salad. For the entrees, we had risotto, grilled salmon, and steak. All of the food came out at the right temps and was made with quality ingredients. Lastly, I was treated with a birthday dessert which was chocolate molten cake and ice cream. Coming from a Michelin restaurant city of Chicago to Dakar, La Fourchette has achieved this remarkable dining standard. I will come back and recommend this restaurant to others.

One of the best restaurant I’ve been to. It’s cozy, intimate and great for friendship, family and romantic dates. The food was very tasty and it came in various portions + there was a life band which topped it up. In all, very good experience!

Great cocktails, beautiful ambiance. This is by far the best restaurant we've been to in Dakar. The live music on Thursday was perfect and the food was very good. Try the burrata and the house spritz. Enjoy!

Do not miss if in Dakar. The food was fantastic - such a brilliant combination of textures and flavors. So completely satisfying 🤗. Excellent work with the menu. Thanks to the Senegalese influence of La Fourchette’s Dakar-style fine dining, I saw what French food would be like if it was actually delicious (sorry France). Ambiance was Wes Anderson meets Afro Punk meets Parisienne Brasserie. You feel like you found out where all the cool kids go on Thursday night. Staff was kind, sweet, and welcoming. The music performance was absolute class. What a lovey evening. Wael is a perfect host. Seven stars!!

Had an amazing experience at La Forchette. We went on a Saturday night, I highly recommend making reservations in advance just in case. Nandy’s Band was there performing and created a great atmosphere. We ordered the Chateaubriand de Boeuf with sautéed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and rice. The beef was tender and cooked medium as ordered. The mushroom sauce that came with it was a perfect compliment. I would highly recommend La Forchette for a nice dinner out. Oh and there was a Valet, which was great because I did not want to look for parking.

Great spot if you are in Dakar city. Another high end restaurant with great food and high prices . Well worth it if you go on Thursday when Queen is singing with her band. She can get the whole place rocking . Certainly one of Dakar’s finest dining spots.
