Fromagerie Du Louvre - Review - Louvre - Paris - The Infatuation

"This cheese shop is breaking all the rules of the typical Parisian fromagerie. Open on Mondays? Check. Friendly, English-speaking service? Check and check. They even stand out from their competitors by offering a free sample or two. But despite being just steps from the Louvre, this place is no tourist trap. The expert mongers here are passionate about their craft, whether it’s sourcing small-batch raw milk Auvergnat chèvres or coating tommes in spent aromatic plants from their gin distillery. If you don't have a mini fridge, grab a picnic box to enjoy on the banks of the nearby Seine. In summer, take advantage of their temporary terrace to dig in on-site, or head next door to their historic wine cellar, where they offer tastings pairing cheese with wine, whisky, perry, or even sake." - Emily Monaco

I went to get a little cheese to melt over pasta The lady, who I believed was one of the owners, was very nice. She let us try a couple of samples and recommended cheese for us. The second she she recommended even my grandson loved and he is beyond picky

Lovely place. The lady in the shop patiently (and excitedly) helped us with our selection of cheese (apart from Comte). We bought maybe 2.5 kilos of cheese from here and I am definitely going back again in May to get some more of the good stuff she offered us. She also gave us a butter (which I am assuming was hers and she wasn't selling those). Very kind, informative and customer focused. The product speaks for itself and she went above and beyond in parting her butter with us (which was amazing as well). See you soon !!

We had a very interesting and informative visit to La Fromagerie du Louvre this morning. Thibault was a superb host - I have never met anybody quite so passionate about cheese. We learned a lot from him about all aspects of producing, maturing, selling and consuming cheese. His products are of the highest quality, kept in a beautiful shop and served with a pleasant air of confidence that demonstrates he is a master of his art. Thank you - we shall enjoy our Comté and Ossau when we get it home - what a treat. Would thoroughly recommend you visit.

Went on a Paris food tour which brought us to this quaint little shop which we would probably have missed otherwise. Thibault introduced us to the different cheeses and he is so knowledgeable. We had a really fun time tasting the cheeses and learnt about them at the same time. Specially went back to the shop to buy the cheeses home because we know we will miss them. They even provide vacuum packed service so that there isnt any smell. Please definitely visit them when you are in Paris!!
