I loved the many vegan flavours here today! The pistachio, dark chocolate and berry flavours were a good combination. Shop was a little small, but on a clear day, we were sitting outside.

Just grabbed some ice creams, the guy working there was great, so nice Gave us amazing portions, ice cream tasted so nice too! Highly recommend !!

The Hot Chocolate was unreal! One of the absolute best! Had the Afagato with dark chocolate and marshmallows. I will visit again! The service was great! And a great location too.

Perhaps my mind isn’t expansive enough to appreciate the more experimental flavors, but I thought the rosemary flavor was a bit too strong and probably wasn’t best expressed through ice cream. Granted, I went quite late so they were out of their more popular flavors. Maybe worth trying a different flavor, but I was definitely a bit let down.

As an Italian who has tried a lot of gelato in London, this place is at the bottom of my list. It tastes like regular ice cream from a machine, definitely does not taste like gelato. It’s not bad but if you want real gelato you’re better off going to Badiani or Venchi.

The pistachio dairy free sorbet was absolutely delicious!!! I am lactose intolerant - they had incredible options. The dairy free Biscoff flavor was great too! Additionally, they have wrapped gluten free cones - so amazing!! Every flavor was great. Good for allergies (dairy, lactose intolerances, and celiac). They even took a separate scooper when they found out about the gluten allergy. Great flavours- ginger stem and dark chocolate were both delicious. And the staff is brilliant- Shariah and Leanne were very considerate and helpful. Would recommend whole heartedly..

I just ordered a mini cone of Matcha Green Tea. The mini cones are so tiny and cute. The Matcha Green Tea has a flavor a lot more reminiscent of green tea rather than concentrated matcha. Nice small sweet treat to have. Texture was alright in terms of stretchy quality (in gelato terms). The place was pretty small with very limited seating if any. I know for sure there is seating outside and inside may have higher tables that are better suited for standing. Service as alright. Quick and efficient but minimal conversations and interpersonal talk.

Absolutely amazing ice cream. My son loved their rich chocolate and almond ice cream . Service is very prompt.

Pretty good gelato place open late. We were there about 9 and the selection was dwindling as the day wore on. Server was friendly and upgraded to larger cone as the gelato was soft at that point. ambiance? It's not Italy but the folks were nice.

It was our last night in Europe, and we didn't want to leave without having gelato one more time. The shop is a simple, no frills gelato shop not too far away from the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square. The staff was friendly and helpful. I loved my pistachio and vanilla gelato. Super creamy and delicious. Husband loved his as well.

While walking around London we stumbled upon La Gelatiera. We walked in not expecting much, and boy were we surprised. This ice cream shop has a variety of flavors to appease all types of customers. Additionally, the portions are very generous. We ordered a couple of the vegan flavors that were available, and it was delicious, well-balanced, and not overly sweet as to be done after the first spoonful. All in all, if you want a treat/dessert while in London, La Gelatiera is an excellent option. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.

It's an amazing gelato shop. Tried 5 flavours, and didn't appreciate only pistachio, rest all were just amazing. On a summer day, lemon was just very very refreshing wanted me to have a lemon drink later. vanilla was just vanilla Raspberry was very fresh and yummy! And nobody messes up Oreo cookies. Lovely dessert after lunch on a hot day

La Gelatiera is a fantastic gelato shop in busy Covent Garden serving both classic and eclectic flavors of both dairy-containing gelato and vegan gelato (like sorbet). The Sicilian pistachio is excellent for a staple flavor, and the honey, rosemary, and orange zest (all one flavor) is a wonderful unique one. Pay a visit if you're in a gelato mood, and you won't be disappointed!

It's been a year and two months since I've had gelato from La Gelatiera. But lemme tell you how I still think about it. I have the photo that I took when I devour myself with it. Really great gelato place in London - I've only eaten at Ibis other than this place, but I prefer this gelato place over 3bis and ate here twice in 2 weeks. They have a lot of traditional gelato flavors, like hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate, and also some inventive flavors like chocolate chili, peanut butter caramel & chocolate, basil & chili, and their signature one, honey, orange and rosemary. With the small size, you can still choose 2 flavors, which is nice when you are indecisive like myself. I got the hazelnut flavor and the dark chocolate chili, both of which were wonderful. Creamy, flavorful, and fresh, just like gelato should be, and not overly sweet. I found the ice cream at 3bis to be sweeter and not as much to my liking. The next time I went, I got the lemon custard cookie, which was like a light vanilla-y, lemon ice cream with little chunks of lemon creme-filled cookies. It reminded me of the lemon sandwich Girl Scout cookies that they used to sell, but are now discontinued. This flavor was light and refreshing, and would be great in the summer. I tried my friend's honey, orange and rosemary but didn't care for it too much - after a few bites, there was just too much rosemary flavor and sometimes I would get a bite of rosemary that was rather pungent and overwhelming. Good for a taste, but I don't think I would be able to eat a whole scoop of this. The ice cream place is not very big, but there are enough tables and chairs for about 15 people, so you can hang out inside for a bit and eat your ice cream. They also have free WiFi which is great if you're traveling from out of town and need internet. I'll be back here to try more flavors as they come out with new ones, and to also keep eating the hazelnut & dark chocolate chili. Price is reasonable at ~£3.30 for a small cup - I'm fine paying this much for a quality gelato and good flavors.

Good ice cream. I had the dark chocolate and caramel. Simple and tasty There was a long line , that in my opinion , is not worth the wait - there are other sweets you can try in the area instead .

All i can say is Yummmmmmmm. Vegan avocado and lime, dark chocolate and sorbets yummm ymm. Its a must tryyyy and vegan havean. I am also happy that every different flavor has a different spatula

Gelato is always a good idea and La Gelatiera is conveniently located so you can always get your ice cream fix! They have a range of interesting flavours (like honey and rosemary, pine nuts, basil and chilli) but I went for the safer options like Salted Caramel and Hazelnut. -- voodie rating: 8/10 £4 for a small scoop (you can choose two flavours)

Ok, so La Gelateria win everything. They're basically the Adele of the ice cream world. This was my first visit and I have to say, I really understand why. Their ice cream was amazing - and their sorbet... oh my. I have never tried anything so creamy for something that doesn't actually have any cream in it. For the ice cream, I'd give this a 10 star rating. I wish that they had a bigger space so I could have actually sat down and enjoyed my ice cream but despite being in early on a Wednesday afternoon there just wasn't any seats. Hopefully next time I'll be able to sit down and enjoy the full La Gelateria experience.

Yummy gelato! We got the hazelnut one and the dark chocolate chilli. The flavors were strong and rich (in a good way), and I'm glad we got that combo to balance it out a bit. They let you try some flavors before you choose. Cool flavors (wish I'd gotten to try more!), nice staff, and cute inside, although very small. Not too crowded on a Friday night (just two people in front of us, and more walking in as we left), but it felt really warm inside as well so we took ours to go!

Had the Honey, Rosemary and Orange Zest & the Eton Mess. The HROZ was to die for. The combination sounded interesting so I had to try it. Totally worth it. Not too sweet but so flavorful

There's never a bad month for ice cream, is there?! And this couldn't be more right especially when you consider La Gelatiera, which for me, is hands down some of the best ice cream available in London! Some of their flavours are brilliant, and personal fav is the basil or chilli! I've been a few times now and it's the perfect way to round off an evening in the area, or to even start a night at the theatre! The venue is a bit small and dinky, but is cosy enough to let a fair few people sit down and others to come and order. Price wise, it's what you'd expect from a gelato shop in London but every time I've been, they've offered free tasters and been very generous with the size of their scoops. Overall, a perfect hidden gem that is one of my favourite shops in London, and better than others like Gelupo!

Was really excited to visit here after just returning from Italy and having loads of gelato while I was there. This shop offers a wide range of really interesting and unique flavours such as spicy chocolate, basil, and a great peanut butter caramel and chocolate one (which was my favourite). They definitely deliver on flavours and choices, and the shop itself is nice with a cosy seating area. Ask to try the flavours as well, the girl who served us was happy to help. The one let down here is in the promise of the name. What I tried was not gelato, but what I would consider to be ice cream. It lacked the creaminess of gelato. I think this may have been mainly due to the temperature it was served at. This was frozen solid, and not creamy. Don't get me wrong though, as ice cream it was great, and I'll be returning (especially for a hot chocolate).

Lick until the end, get dirty and like it. There's no propper season for loving and there's no right time for gelato either. Give your taste buds some unique flavours to enjoy. What's good: You can abuse on their gelato without worries, since it's 100% made of natural ingredients, and most important, low in fat (0% - 6%). Also: They hold the Great Taste 2014 Award for some of their gelatos and sorbetes. They have more than 90 favours, so there's no way you can't find yours. I've been willing to try new ones and always end up getting the same two things. What I like the most: Coconut & chocolate chips - coconut sorbet with dark chocolate chips. Also: I'm obsessed with the ice coffee and I would drink this every day.

Great find. Good selection and it lived up to it's rating. Across from a fun bar called Mr Frogg's Tavern.

I was drawn to this place after a friend informed me that it serves award winning gelato! Well I shall be sticking with Gelupo where the service is far more friendly and where they use natural and fresh ingredients. At La Gelatiera the first flavour that caught my attention was the figs and white chocolate, after tasting I was disappointed to find that it was not made from fresh figs, instead according to the server fig 'sauce' topped with dried figs. The server also commented that normally they only allow customers to sample 2 flavours, in that case if I do not like the first 2 flavours that I sample I will simply patronise another gelato store rather than randomly choose any flavour! After all there are many other competitors nearby serving decent gelato where I will find flavours to suit my taste. I did not bother to collect a loyalty card as I doubt I shall be returning to la gelatiera so gave the loyalty stamp to a friend instead.

Oh La Gelatiera, you made me eat gelato on a freezing winter night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the pistachio flavour, and others I tried were quite good as well. It's worth mentioning that they also have hot chocolate, and you can choose the cocoa percentage, from 50% to 90% I believe. They came in lovely tea cup, and it's definitely one of the best hot chocolate I've tasted. The shop is small and cute, and opens pretty late for a Gelato place. Highly recommend it.

The gelato is goooooood. Great flavours and I love the chewy texture. The ice cream doesn't melt quickly! I had chilli chocolate (chocolate is great then comes with a hint of spicy chilli) hazelnut, summer berries and raspberry A great place for ice cream but I put 3 stars because of the girl at the counter. Her attitude makes us so uncomfortable. I'm sure there are plenty of good gelato in London that have better service.

-1 star for the service. The ladies behind the counter were rude and gave us a face when we asked for samples. Beside that, the gelato here is the best I've tasted in London. The texture and consistency is absolutely on point. They also have an incredibly selection of flavors that you would never expect to work (Basil and Chili? Whaat. How does this possibly go well in ice cream??) I would recommend the Salted Caramel, that flavor is incredibly smooth, creamy and packs a ton of flavor. My parents - who don't like sweets managed to eat most of the small cup (though they pack a ton into it) away. They also have a bite sized cone for 1.5 if you're not feeling that much ice cream. It's like half a cone and a itty bitty scoop of ice cream. Although the small size is only ~3 and they give you wayyyy more.

Amazing ice cream with a great selection of flavours! £3 for a small but able to fit two flavours on top of the cone. I went for caramel peanut butter and chocolate. Bf got a large and boy was it large! Took him 30 mins to polish it off. At £5 a pop you'd expect it to be big but they don't scrimp so it's all good. Three different flavours (same as me plus a salted caramel flavour that was so creamy and delicious). Be warned one of the chocos is a sorbet which I don't think they make clear. Service doesn't come with a smile - they are a little grumpy in there but ice cream is creamy, good choice of flavours and probably better than amarinos over the road! A must!

This is simply a big highlight of Covent Garden. Try the Basil Chili and Chocolate Chili. Wow!!!!!!! Wonderful. I can go here everyday. Also have a tortufo (not sure of the spelling). Wow!

FAVORITE ICE CREAM PLACE IN LONDON! I go every time I come back to visit family :) They have an incredible variety of flavors (and interesting combos like chestnut and vanilla) that rotate so there is something new to try. They have an AMAZING number of sorbets for non-dairy/vegan visitors - their dark chocolate sorbet is one of my favorite treats in the world! Love time and would go back any time ;)

There was a small queue when we got there (late afternoon on a saturday) and as the place isn't big it can be a bit uncomfortable; people (either working there or getting deliveries; I don't know) have to push their way past the queue to get in, meaning you will be elbowed aside or will have to squeeze hard against the wall. But that's the way it is. After a while the queue was gone and even though it's a small place there are a few nice seats inside and we managed to snag one. I didn't see any *exotic* flavours, maybe they had sold out as it was late in the day. Lots of people complaining about the service. I sat there for a while with my gelato and paid attention. The girls are cute and very efficient, but yup, you don't really get a side order of front teeth with your food. I asked something about the cone size and got an answer in an accent that I didn't understand very well, but they did try. I didn't notice any major act of rudeness, though - perhaps a tight lipped smile in response to an annoying/indecisive customer (who didn't notice), but I've been there, got the t-shirt, etc. Service is fine and I wouldn't rule the place out based on that. Not if the gelato was great. But the ice cream, well, there's nothing special here. Sorry. My salted caramel was all right, but not enough flavour or richness to make me want to return - or wish I had ordered the medium; the small turned out to be more than enough. My friend had a latte ice cream and I had a taste; pretty unremarkable and a bit watery. Maybe I'm spoiled by italian ice cream in Italy. In fact, even the italian "eis cafes" in Germany (they do love their gelato over there) are better. So that's another place whose hype I don't get.

We happened upon this place when heading back to Trafalgar Square from Covent Garden. The place was packed, but they were running out of a lot of their gelato. I was able to get the last scoop of stracciatella, and it was pretty good! Creamy, piled high and with a very nice dark chocolate.

Just like what I had last spring in Italy. Leaps and bounds ahead of the others. This is real gelato, not ice cream masquerading as gelato! Flavors are intense, pure. If you love chocolate, get the dark chocolate. Too dark for children, but an adult will appreciate it. If you're in Covent Garden, GO HERE! It's a small shop, and they get crazy busy after dinner. So I just skip dinner and have this!! And I'm never sorry! Lol Go! Now!

This is my happy place. Unique flavors served by helpful people. I asked the server to surprise me. He wasn't bothered at all by what was a sincerely stupid request. Asked for a few likes and dislikes and then figured out what combo would be best. I got basil with something yummy and hazelnut. De-licious! My husband went with the straight pistachio and it was amazing!! Cute little gelateria that takes gelato seriously. Grab a cone and stroll Soho. Gotta cut this short. Time to go back. Seriously!

I'm a sucker for ice cream. Basically any excuse for an ice cream is a good excuse. So after an aborted trip to the opera, we were wandering along St Martin's Lane and saw the queue for La Gelatiera, and as I'd been meaning to try it out, we hopped in line. There were probably 15 people ahead of us in the queue, which moved slowly. I think people are just indecisive. It was a lovely warm, sunny Saturday afternoon though so I didn't much mind waiting. I didn't want much, just a taste, so went for a small cup with 2 flavours - vanilla and peanut butter chocolate something or other. The small is really very, very small - enough for me, though. The peanut butter was the better of the two, with a nice hit of salt, but it could have done with a bit more flavour overall. The vanilla was really good and I have no complaints about the taste. My issue with the place in general is that yes, it's gelato once you get it in your gob but really, it's served too frozen-hard and it makes it seem more like ice cream. I still enjoyed it and would go back - but maybe I wouldn't queue...!

I had the honey rosemary and orange zest along w/Sicilian pistachio and dark chocolate. Absolutely rich flavors and worth the visit. Small spaces is the only negative feature.

Huge range, intense flavours. All the classics are here too. You also can have tasters if you're not sure.

What makes this place so unique is the ice cream flavor. There's basil with chili, dark chocolate with chili, and rosemary with sth (can't remember). I actually enjoyed the basil and chili. Strong basil smell and it feels like eating pesto. But you get tired of it so would recommend getting with other flavors. Of course there are other typical flavora like vanilla and pistachio.

Epic! Roasted Peanut Butter, Caramel & Chocolate is an amazing experience of extremely well-balanced flavors. Well done!

Although the gelato are pricey, the gelato is amazing. It has a smooth creamy taste. I got the nocciola which tastes like hazelnut and chocolate. It's similar to Nutella but very toned down on the sweetness.

Seriously: best gelato I've ever tasted. Smooth, creamy, full of real pistachio flavor, and not too sweet. A bit hidden, but very (very) much worth the hunt. The hazelnut and pistachio are HIGHLY recommended.

Basil and jalapeno gelato? I was full to the brim, and yet had to indulge in this treat. It was so amazing - earthy sweet, with a kick of heat left on your tongue. It's a cute little nook of a shop, and had we been nearby, I probably would have been a repeat visitor.

I ate here while on a school trip. It was small and the women was (understandably) very overwhelmed when 26 very American kids came in with no change. But she served us and was very polite. The gelato was AMAZING!!!!!!!! I still think about it. I can't remember the exact name of what I got but the flavors sure were exotic! One had caramelized fennel and the other had basil and spice if I remember correctly. What an amazing place. If I could I would go everyday

Amazing gelato. I had a delicious (and generous) scoop of Fig-Toasted Almond-Sea Salt and my wife had scoops of hazelnut and pistachio that lived up to her memories of gelato in Italy. I was tempted to withhold one star for the short and surly service, but the quality of the gelato made up for it, and it's not like you're getting an hour of table service from the staff there.

The team here made me a beautiful big custom gelato cake for my husband's birthday - absolutely excellent service during the whole ordering process (I had many very specific questions). The cake turned out beautifully with top quality for the gelato and decorations! When I was in the shop to pick up the cake I noticed they had a delicious looking selection of gelato with interesting flavours like Eton Mess, so I'll certainly be back for a scoop.

Their chocolate sorbet tastes like a full on brownie. It's amazing. AND VEGAN. Well when I went it was vegan. They have rotating flavours that are egg & dairy free and have 3-4 options out at a time. Don't be shy- just ask! The only down side is you can only choose one flavour for the small. But you can sample before you buy, so you can commit without fear of the wrong choice.

Omg .... searching forever for the best almond ice cream sorbet and I think I found it! Utterly divine. Lovely friendly staff, who obviously appreciate good ice cream, I'm sitting here still eating it and eyeing up all the other flavours. I will be making a visit every time I'm in town... to hell with the diet!
