Chicago Chefs Raise $30K for Hurricane Helene Relief as Locals Prep for Hurricane Milton | Eater Chicago

"After 40 years at 2914 N. Ashland Avenue, I learned that La Gondola closed its Lakeview strip-mall location earlier this year, but ownership has found a new home inside a West Town restaurant and is continuing to offer a menu of old favorites there." - Ashok Selvam

All the Major Chicago Area Restaurant Closures, Summer 2024 | Eater Chicago

"The long-running red-sauce Italian stalwart at 2914 N. Ashland Avenue closed after 40 years, but the team is keeping the restaurant’s hit dishes (and eventually pizzas) alive by serving them out of Mirella’s Tavern on Division Street in Wicker Park." - Ashok Selvam

I stopped in after a doctors appointment with my mom. We got the special (buy one get one calzones) and they did not disappoint. I got onion and garlic and it was delicious and not overpowering at all. She got sausage and onion and the sausage was high quality and tasty. I also got the limoncello martini and couldn't recommend it enough. It was so tangy and delicious, and I couldn't taste the alcohol at all. Award winning food right down the street!

Since relocating from the Southside of Chicago to Michigan, one of the biggest drawbacks is missing all the great food I grew up on. So I was thrilled to discover that this establishment was opening near one of my Southside Chicago sales offices. Great perk when I’m in town. I ordered two breaded steak Sammys to-go, along with all the fixings on the side. Their breaded steak sandwich is absolutely incredible, loaded with extra red sauce, mozzarella cheese, sweet peppers, and giardiniera. TLC is evident in every bite, just like in all their food. My favorite was the Pepperoni thin crust BOGO or the Lasagna specials. Overall you won’t be disappointed❣️✌️🇮🇹🍝🍕🥩 #mangia

By far one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to! The Lasagna, mussels and garlic bread are phenomenal! The staff are awesome and very attentive! Lastly they have Italian beer which is a great complement to the food! 5 stars all around!

La Gondola never disappoints. I had gluten free rigatoni bosciola, ate as much as I wanted, and didn’t feel poorly. I’ve loved this restaurant since 2007, before I had strict dietary restrictions. The new location still has a casual, cozy vibe with a focus on great food. Kudos to Andy and family for keeping this alive for all the hungry people.

Everything about this restaurant is lovely. This is a must to visit. The portions of food is unbelievable. I purchased a meatball sandwich with fries and it took me an hour just to eat the first meatball. That's how big they are. One can be a meal by itself. The fries are awesome. I don't know what they season them with, but I can eat those all day. The sandwich is great. I'm still eating. I can't seem to get past that 1st meatball 🤣🤣🤣. The toasted bread doesn't help. I can eat that alone with tea in the mornings. The staff are great

We just heard that their was a new pizza place so stopped by to try it based on reviews and pictures it looked great. Ordered just a slice of pepperoni and one sausage. The dough is the best in the area, the sausage is good quality and the pepperoni is delicious, the best I've had on a pizza. It was very light on sauce but I figured I could order extra sauce if I order a full pizza. The let down was the cheese It has to be part skim mozzarella it's bland and gluey. Whole milk mozzarella is much more rich and flavorful. If they used a better quality of cheese it would easily be the best pizza in the area. I hope they switch I'd love to be a regular.

Got the chicken Parmesan, and it was really good! Going to try their pizza next time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

Picked up an order to go for my family and boy it did not disappoint! One of the best restaurants in Crestwood. The calamari was spot on with homemade cocktail sauce that was great. The signature dish rigatoni boscaiola was fantastic. I ordered extra spicy and will be ordering again! I really appreciate a family style restaurant that Crestwood has been lacking for years!

Yelp
Went there for the 2 jumbo slices and can of soda 11:20 AM today. Was advised pizza slices would be ready about 15-20 minutes. Should have slices ready when you open.
