The 13 Best Gelato Spots In Rome 2024

"La Gourmandise is a shop in Monteverde that has dairy-free gelato options, along with some flavors made from goat milk sourced straight from Malta. Try the raw, texturally-rich pistachio mixed with the salty almond, or the fragrant honeyed lavender flavor dotted with bits of bitter chocolate. After, take a walk through the neighborhood with your cup or cone while house hunting on the picturesque street." - annie replogle, gillian mcguire

Very good gelato, the store is tucked in a residential street so it’s not the most obvious place to visit, but the flavors were so amazing, I’d make the trek to have it again! I tried the chocolate and pistacchio, the flavors were natural and complemented each other very well!

A whole lot of awesome flavours! We tried several very interesting, plus some more regular ones. We can recommend the wild strawberry and the raspberry, because of their pure taste. I would also like to highlight the avocado and the lavendel flavours, but these are probably not the tastes the kids would choose by themselves. At least ours didn't like them, but we did. They only offer the ice cream in a cup, no waffle cones served. The parlour itself is in a quiet neighborhood.

Cute little local gelato store away from the tourist hustle & bustle. I tried the raw pistachio, custard cream with juniper and passito wine. Good value and a tasty selection of flavours. 3 scoops for €4.50, will definitely return to try more options! The lady was friendly and accommodated my limited Italian which I am grateful for.

Taste of the gelato was very good, the selection of flavors was very wild. Sadly you have to take the gelato in a cup as there are no cones. From the outside, the store looked closed.

Really liked this place. I came to have particular flavors in my mind that I definitely wanted to try. But those flavors were not presented that day, so I had to choose something different. The owner of the gelateria was super nice person. He explained me every flavor I asked for and recommended the ones that could be the most particular and original ones. So I took 100% dark chocolate, chestnut sorbet and milk chocolate with crunchy chocolate pieces. There was an option to have some whipped cream on top. Usually I never put it but I agreed. I could say that the quality of ice cream was very good and the flavors are also very interesting.

Truly the best ice cream in Rome! The flavours are so beautiful and original, as well as seasonal. The gelato is made with goat milk from a special farm in Lazio… and plenty of vegan options too which are equally good. So much love attention to detail and consideration has gone into this gelateria.

Discovered this place accidentally and couldn’t be happier - home-made gelato with vast choice of tastes, all of high quality. I was surprised with tastes I’ve never found before - like avocado and olive oil, my favourite was ricotta after all

A neighborhood ice cream shop in Rome’s tranquil, green and beautiful residential Monteverde Vecchio with mostly Liberty style villas . Long queues and somr waiting time in the evenings and in the summer. It has vast collection of flavors. Also offers chocolate and many fruit flavors with no milk. It is neat, clean, modest shop with professional spirit. It offers some deserts as well. Also you can order your ice cream for your guests in advance for take home. One of those places that you know it won’t fail you. Suggest try mango with no milk or lemon with basil.

Yelp
Magnificent, beautiful gelateria with magical, balanced flavors-- one of the very best in Roma!

Yelp
Possibly the best gelato I've had in Rome so far! I got the Mora and a chocolate (one of three types!). You can tell this place is legit because it is in a fairly quiet area and has tons of locals going in and out for a scoop of gelato. We had to do lots of gesturing to explain what we wanted, but the service was friendly. The store itself is very humble with minimal decoration, so you know the gelato speaks for itself. Worth the hike up the Monteverde steps!

Yelp
I was thrilled to discover artisanal vegan gelato/sorbeto options at this small shop in Rome, and they were delicious, interesting, and also well labeled in both Italian and English (with ingredients!) to take out the guesswork and questioning that often comes with being vegan (esp. for those who don't speak much Italian). I tried a cup with 100% dark chocolate (decadent!), strawberry rosewater (good although not my favorite combination), and pear crumble (delicious). My only regret is I didn't get two servings, because they were on the small side.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to find a place to stay directly across this gelateria. After a long day of roaming through Rome, getting a gelato from here was one of the most anticipated events of our days. Very tasty flavors, homemade and friendly service. Best gelato in Rome!
