"Transformed into a restaurant for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, Empire, Belle Époque and Art nouveau styles culminate in the charm of a rotunda dining room with a glazed roof and a superb terrace. The business clientele comes here to savour the spirit of a bygone Paris and the ‘country’ air of the Bois de Boulogne. Georges Menut lovingly maintains the image of a “grande dame”, but modernity is ensured with the cooking of chef Frédéric Robert, whose cv includes L’Ambroisie, Le Vivarois and Lucas-Carton, and the desserts of young pastry-chef Joris Vée." - Michelin Inspector

The venue is stunning and iconic, offering a spacious setting with expertly prepared, high-quality dishes. The service is pretty good, and the staff are really friendly!

An old establishment purely riding on the coattails of a (formerly) impressive beautiful building in need of a bit more maintenance / upkeep. The service was…interesting - impersonal and a bit flippant. We were led to a table next to the kitchen, in the corner apart from the rest of the dining room, and when asked if we could change our seats a bit closer to everyone else the answer was “but it is impossible” - no reason given. We assumed it was because reservations were full for the night, but as our meal went on it became clear the hall was half empty. We were sat like outcasts for no reason. The 5 course meal was uninspired, mediocre food without any ingredient or cooking technique that justified the 200 euro/pp price tag. The menu was poorly explained, my parents’ wine was poured without being offered a tasting, and the bread was very salty. We were surprised to see a cheese course take up 1 course out of the 5. The cheese course was truly just 1 slab of cheese and a little mushroom side. I wouldn’t waste any money or time or effort going out of the way to this restaurant! Best to try another establishment - we had pleasant experiences at Boutary (not Michelin rated) and L’Oiseau Blanc that blew us away.

First time I visited this restaurant In September 2003 with friends and we really enjoyed the lovely palace style setup and the outstanding environment in the inside seating and also the professional service also we enjoyed the food. We are back to this place with my wife in August 2022 and while we enjoyed the outdoor seating and the environment and the setup we found that unfortunately the food wasn’t the same as before and it doesn’t even have the same concept at all The restaurant apparently lost his good food and went down in taste, presentation and service and that was terrible when we found that our wine bottle was still half while the server stopped serving us in way we thought it was finished!too bad this dropping from 5 to 3 stars (3 stars only for the location) and for the high price we paid it do not match the food quality and therefore we will not comeback again

I decided to take a walk in Bois de Boulogne this morning, and by noon, I arrived at this restaurant. I thought I’d enjoy a nice lunch given its high ranking. Well… I should have read some of the top reviews first. The crew here is the worst I’ve experienced in Paris so far. Arrogant doesn’t even begin to describe their empty pride and constant contempt. Some of the waiters simply refused to speak to me in English, even though they knew I didn’t speak French. We had such lovely conversations! 🤣 The glass was dirty. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The food was tasteless. There are excellent restaurants in Paris (obviously), but this is not one of them. Every dish—the cold pea soup, the salmon, even the croissant—lacked any great taste. It was all mediocre food, cooked with the the poorest creativity. Unless you have to, don’t waste your money and time here. It’s not worth it.

Disappointing restaurant. The quality and the service dropped drastically since we went there a few years ago. We had to ask them a few times to bring water but by the end of it we were just pouring it by ourselves. The prices were way too high for the dishes especially for the macaroni which was nothing incredible. We took the menu so I would say overall the food is good but not worth the price.

Unfortunately i have to give a 3 star review like many others here - for Michelin star, and for spending €800, we expected more from the food, although i did have a decent service, a good time and a good meal. I had to ask for water twice, and we were just pouring it ourselves by the end - we had no trouble being refilled in wine though, which was great - we ordered only a glass at first but then expanded to multiple bottles and they didn't nitpick us about glass/bottle pricing. We had the macaroni - highly recommended(i daresay pushed) by the waitstaff: good but not noteworthy. I had the veal chop- I didn't like it, and there were only four gnocchi. The chop was at least quite big and filling- my husband and brother had the beef and although they liked it, they werent wowed, and they were still hungry. The dessert we got was fantastic! My favorite plate by far (i cant remember what it was). The crepes suzanne was being prepared at the table next to us and it looked extravagant, i was quite jealous. My biggest disappointment was the french bread - hard as a rock - and obviously i came to paris to have good bread. At least i had good wine, and a gorgeous view.

Google
A fancy but dated place, decor needs updating. The service is modern, very professional (and appeared friendly to Americans). The dish components are refined as you would expect in modern Michelin starred restaurants. The sauces are classic and heavy. The meats are average, but the sauces are well designed. I had a wonderfully crispy sweet bread entree that is executed well. We told them we have a time limit and the waiter acknowledged but he eventually abandoned us and the wine service was not adequate and we didn't have time to order desserts.

Google
Took a taxi there & back from our hotel. Out of the way very dated decor feels like dining in Grandma's house. Service was good but the food very mediocre, nothing creative ...definitely not up to par comparing to other Michelin starred restaurants in Paris, NYC, London or LA. Dine at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon Etoile instead.

Yelp
Do not do the tasting menu here, order a la carte and you'll have an excellent experience. We loved some of our dishes a lot and some were disappointments so we'd rather save the money and enjoy our whole meal. Servers here were amazing, truly attentive and responsive. Despite the inconsistent dishes, we had an incredible experience and would come back again. The restaurant is gorgeous and the ambiance is wonderful. Highly recommend the macaroni and lamb. The rest of the tasting menu wasn't great, especially the turbot which was not a good texture.

Yelp
Nestled in a forrest within the heart of Paris you will feel transported to another era. The moment you enter the dining room you know that the evening meal will be a very special event. Our professional waiter spoke fluent French, Italian and English. He was extremely knowledgable and approachable. We went with the Itineraire 6, a six course chefs menu that was delivered over 3 hours. Each course was a master class in quality ingredients, distinct flavors and varied textures creating a celebration for your palate. While there are no stated wine pairings we found the glass pour options very complimentary.

Yelp
The restaurant was beautiful, the location was beautiful too. The staff was very attentive. The bread alone won my heart. I would give anything for the the croissant style roll. The courses were paced well. They did not have an English menu available, so I had to leave some to the imagination while ordering. I highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
The view and the atmosphere is great. However, the food quality is very unimpressive, to the extent that it's almost below mediocre. All the dishes are bland and lack of texture and layers. The main dish is a sea bass, which is very bland and stiff, almost not feeling fresh. The sauce also feels cheap. This is the first time I had a meal at a Michelin star restaurant in Paris, and I'm quite disappointed. The service is great, but the decor is quite outdated, all those are minor comparing to the mediocre food quality.

Yelp
Worth a stop by if you are visiting Paris. Great food, service, and the history behind it.

Yelp
We made reservations three months ago. Today (a few hours before our rez), they left us a voice mail canceling our reservation without any explanation or apology. And when our concierge at the hotel called to make sure we understood the message correctly, they were extremely rude to her, too. This was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. What assholes.

Yelp
The best place during this trip to Paris. This is a historical place, nestled in a forest, it used to be a hunting lodge for the kings of France. Lots of history here. You feel like you are in a palace as soon as you walk in. the crystal chandeliers, rich plush chairs and beautiful decorations make you feel like a queen or king. The staff is very nice so you really feel like royalty. The menu offers three degustation manus, one of them is vegetarian. I would recommend getting the wine paired with the menu you pick. It will be pricey but it is an amazing experience for your pallet. Every dish was prepared with extreme care and you tasted the star of the dish, perfectly seasoned and very fresh. The do offer a very nice bread made with croissant type dough, just don't fill up on that because there are a lot of dishes served so you need to enjoy every dish. With dessert we got a nice old port that was delicious. An amazing experience that you have to try at least once in a lifetime.

Yelp
Most beautiful restaurant I've ever been to. The wait staff was impeccable, the food was absolutely phenomenal and the ambiance was out of this world romantic. No doubt it's a Michelin restaurant. Would absolutely go back to this restaurant in a heart beat!

Yelp
We came invited by our parents, a bit afraid that it would be too stuffy for us, but it was actually great. True, the place itself doesn't feel modern at all - it is all old-school wall coverings, brocade and noble colors, except the odd-looking bright purple table decoration which looked like a futurist lava lamp. The food however is much more inventive than we expected. You don't have that many 'classical' French dishes: we had coco gambas, snacked Asian-style tuna... on top of the more traditional dishes such as truffle chicken and raspberry & cream dessert. Overall, everything was delicious and nothing was boring. Also, the bread and butter is to die for - I think I ate as much bread as I ate proper food :) I don't know if I would choose to come back to La Grande Cascade if it was not a gift, because I felt that the price point was still pretty high (same price range than Kei, which has 2 Michelin stars and is one level above in terms of quality, I would say). But it was a great experience, and I feel super lucky to have been there.

Yelp
Disaster! Tourist trap. La Grande Cascade does not deserve a Michelin star (my husband and I have been to most Michelin restaurants in France). You get better service at your local brasserie. Spent over EUR 1000 on a birthday dinner: Wine pairings with each course came after food was served (and, we had to ask). Requested a birthday candle (3 times) which came AFTER the dessert. ZERO apology from management. Catastrophe!

Yelp
This is hands down the most beautiful restaurant I have been to in Paris. Grand and elegant, it basically looks like a scene out of a movie. The service was so professional and impeccable (by far the best service I have had in a restaurant as well) and the whole meal was a delight. I apologize because I never took any photos here (it was before I started being crazy with taking food pictures) which I regret so badly! I came here for a set course dinner with wine pairing (also my first time doing wine pairing). This was about 2 years ago so I'm sorry that I don't remember the menu I do remember that the fish was cooked to perfection and the dessert (it was something with yuzu) was not very impressive. Being a bread lover the one thing that sticks out in my mind is the brioche feuilletee that was served. HOLYYYYYY. I had one and one was NOT enough. It was sweet yet there was a salty tinge to it and it was SO flakey on the top but the brioche was SO soft on the inside. I wish I could go back to just buy a bag of brioches! The best brioche feuilletee in Paris for sure (and trust me I have hunted). Lastly, as part of dessert they served a super aged comte. This was the first time I tried comte and after this I completely became obsessed with it and began exploring the various cheeses in Paris. So basically, it changed my life! Who doesn't LOVE cheese?! I almost feel like because I have no pictures that I need to go back to eat here again. For sure this has been the BEST and most memorable Michelin star experience I have had. HIGHLY recommend this place!

Yelp
We had the full degustation with matching wines. The food was amazing. Well presented courses with beautiful taste and flea ours. Service could no be faulted and very accommodating. Restaurant is beautiful and works well with romantic diner for two or large group. Well worth the money to get a true French fine dinning experience.

Yelp
View and atmosphere is great however the food left a little bit to be desired. Extensive wine list.

Yelp
Amazing food from start to finish. Not only is the food original and great but the service is exemplary as the setting magical. Great address in middle of Bois de Boulogne. Perfect to celebrate special occasions and "se mettre sur son 31!"

Roland R.

Yelp
This was a big surprise--a one-star Michelin restaurant as good as a 3-star, but at a somewhat lower price. The room is spectacular, the food is consistently outstanding, and the wine pairings were much better than what we had experienced at a 2-star (Le Table du Lancaster). In fact, Le Grande Cascade completely dominated Le Table du Lancaster in every way. It was most comparable to Epicure (Michelin 3-star). The only negative is that it's somewhat difficult to get to, out in the Bois de Boulogne. The taxi ride is worth it, though.

Yelp
Probably one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. You are in a forest in an elegant restaurant like a classic Paris ballroom and the food was superb and the service was superb. They even give you little stools for your bag very very classy. I want to get married here.
