If you’re craving the most authentic and freshest Peruvian cuisine including ceviche and Lomo Saltado in the DMV, La Granja De Oro is the place to go.
It’s hard to believe I haven’t already written a review for this spot. La Granja De Oro, or Granja, as I’ve come to call it has been a family favorite and staple in our eating out experience since my husband and I started dating back in 2000!
It was Granja who even catered our oldest son’s high school graduation party! But better later than never!
The menu is huge and I have no doubt everything here is flavorful and fresh, but when you have your favorites you tend stick with them.
We started with the Papa Rellena, which was perfectly golden (I have no idea how they do this, but I love it!) and stuffed with a savory, seasoned ground beef filling that feels like a warm hug.
The ceviche is always super fresh, hitting all the right citrusy, spicy notes; and I love the corn kernels to balance it all out.
The hearty saltados are always perfectly seasoned and cooked; whether it’s steak, or shrimp; apparently they also have a chicken version. They use steak cut fries in their version which are thick, so they complement the large chunks of meat perfectly. Every bite is a rounded balance of their signature stir-fry sauce, tomato, onion, meat and French fry. This is true for both versions.
There’s a reason this restaurant has been here for over 30 years. The food is just that good!
Next time I go I’ll maybe have to try something else! 😅
Oh! And they’re having a Valentine’s Day Celebration from 9:30 pm to 1:45 am on Valentine’s Day this year, 2/14/26. If you end up going, tell them Shaki sent you!❤️
