"Everyone knows that you eat extremely well at La Gruta and this hasn’t changed since it moved to this old stone house with several dining rooms and an attractive patio-terrace with views of the kitchen. The couple in charge (French chef Fabrice Cesar at the stove and Montse in the dining room) showcase French and internationally inspired cuisine prepared with locally sourced and Mediterranean ingredients on a concise à la carte and three interesting menus (Momento, Bistronómico and Descubrimiento)." - Michelin Inspector

Great restaurant. The food was simply amazing, they are very thoughtful in every detail and very creative dishes. Me and my partner were extremely impressed with all dishes. The cacao nibs dessert was remarkable. The ambient is lovely and cozy, and the price was also very coherent. The receptionist was the kindest, she took us 20 minutes before the restaurant closed, and the waiters were very sympathetic. I would without doubt go there again.

Very nice gastronomic expérience. Very good service, excellent and surprising food. They adapted the menu for our allergies. Very good wine advice and choice. We will be back! A must do in La Escala

First discovered this place in 2012/2013 and have loved it ever since. It has become a MUST every time we are near Perpignan. Warm welcome, great service and food that takes you places… The couple that run the place have found their calling and perfected it…

Exquisite location paired with very attentive service. Menu at lunchtime well-coordinated, including water. Wine is a mere 7€ additional fee, but it’s worth every penny. Foie Gras, Salmon Supreme, Chocolate cake and Cardahio (Coffee with brandy).

My wife and I have been coming , as often as we can, to La Gruta since 2014...so 10 years now!! We have dined at all three premises over the years and loved them all, but this is the best, not least because you now see Fabrice in action: he is a force of nature! To create the menus he does on a daily basis is far beyond normal human behaviour, it is almost frightening. Montse is the kindest host imaginable and the staff (who have been with them for many years in spite of the incredible demands of such a popular restaurant) are all absolutely lovely. This is by far our favourite restaurant anywhere in the world (and we have been to far too many), Michelin Star or not (who cares?), this is the pinnacle of what a great dining experience should be. Anyone giving less than 5 stars should have a very long look in the mirror.
