I like the new location in Redmond downtown and the decor is nice. We got the beef pastelon, the ropa vieja and a pina colada. The food was ready quite fast. Unfortunately I wasn’t a fun of the pastelon it was too dry and kind of a small portion. On the other hand that ropa vieja was good. I liked the taste of the pina collada but it wasn’t blended well enough and there was a bunch of thick ice in it. I’m pretty confident they can address these issues.

Went with a party of 8, and it was good, but not great. Service was ok, they had trouble remembering requests like more water and extra napkins, and there was basically no one in there. I did enjoy the drinks, but the main courses were not stunning

Went for brunch. Got the two eggs with beans and rice, the empanadillas, and their French toast. They're the first 3 items on the brunch menu. All were AMAZING. I enjoyed mixing the beans, eggs, and rice up in plate 1. Empanadillas were delicious. Perfectly crispy, meaty and cheesy insides... Heaven. The French toast was a good dessert for the meal. Soft, fluffy, and the plantains were somewhat savoury. Fantastic meal for a great price.

Awesome food. The staff are very nice and able to do some customize food for us. The decoration of the restaurant are also very traditional, like it!

Amazing food! So delicious, large portions I end up taking half my meal home with me. Definitely recommend coming here

The mojito selection is vast and delicious. I ordered mine slightly less sweet, and it was perfect. Service was great and food was good. :)

Food portions were generous. The plantain were good but a little under seasoned, somewhat expensive for the appetizer of plantain medley. The chimichurri was very tasty!

I’m Nuyorican and took my mom here. First off the appetizers are great. The alcapurrias in particular are amazing and authentic. I felt like I was communing with the ancestors in el Yunque as I ate them. Their other appetizers were delicious as well, and their sangria is to die for! The place really made me feel like I was taking part in a cultural experience. The coquis, vejigante masks on the walls, flags everywhere, it was perfect. Now I got their pernil, and I was very disappointed. I felt like it had no flavor. It tasted like plain pork. My mom wanted to ask for adobo because it was that flavorless. In the end, I infamous quelled the Brooklyn bluntness in her and we settled on asking for pique instead. When we asked for pique, our waiter looked totally confused. He pointed to the mojo sauce, and said that that was pique. I insisted it wasn’t, and so he came back with what almost tasted like a chipotle sauce. Mira, I don’t wanna be all extra, but all I could think is la piña está agria when I live in a state where even the Puerto Rican restaurants have no pique. Overall, for drinks and appetizers, I give this place five stars. I’ll totally be back and enjoy their sangria because they’re some of the best I’ve ever had. And sometimes when I’m drinking, it’s nice to have a small dish with some island savor. It fills the empty void in my heat when I’m feeling homesick. For entrees I give this place a three... in reality this place is a four, but because I gotta stand up for my fellow boricua, I give la Isla a 5. =D Wepa!
