We stopped in for breakfast and found the food to be pretty average—solid, but nothing particularly memorable. What truly elevated our visit was the owner's exceptional friendliness. He went above and beyond, even offering us a wonderful mini-tour of the city center, which was a fantastic personal touch.

These people are crooks. I ordered the nachos that came out cold and were literally drowned in bean juice. So they were cold and soggy. Also, ordered the chicken fajitas which were cold, the “soft shells” were hard, and only came with white rice and more bean juice. The waiter also insisted that he couldn’t split our check but really our tour guide was in cahoots with this place. The tour guide ordered a soda on our tab and agreed when the waiter charged us $15 over the USD conversion price. I know foreign money and how it works. He wanted to charge us more for using cash (untraceable) but the correct amount if we used our card. Not to mention they let people walk around the restaurant selling us things while we dined. Don’t be fooled by the 4 star reviews, this place is horrible. I understand this isn’t a well off city but it’s just not right to steal from customers and serve them inedible food.

Pavo Escabeche (pickled Turkey soup) was really good. My wife had the Brochetta Cameron. (Shrimp Kabobs) really interesting presentation and also good.

Lovely food and friendly service. I had the fish with rice and veg and when he saw I had eaten all of my vegetables (they were delicious!) the waiter brought me more. Good value and some interesting food to try, including shark empanadas.

A great introduction to Merida. Margaritas were delicious. We did get chicken nachos. The chicken was so tender and the beans were amazing

Located by the main square on Plaza Grande, you can acquire inside or outside seating to try the traditional Yucatecan food! Well worth a visit, panuchos and pibil pollo were perfect for two. 5/5, will visit again!

Google
Good food and location! Good prices and portions! The only things were that the service started really really bad but it went a bit better by the end of our dinner. All the traditional “antojitos” from Yucatan where out of stock and the Washrooms were extremely dirty and nobody seem to care 😞 you have to be careful with your bill they try to add gratuity without letting you know.

Google
One of a kind! Not the place, you would be romancing, but wounderful food, nice people and good prices. Well, maybe romancing also.... And by the way - I simply can't understand the negative critics. Of course I respect outher experiances. But people, the food was delicious and the stuff was friendly. Really great food! And I can't belive, that the people I met there, were just rude only to you! Sorry.

Yelp
The papadzules, sopa de Lima, and Panuchos were delicious. The prices here are very high in comparison to the rest of Merida, due to it being in el centro. Take note this is in the middle of the city and there are individuals who are requesting donations, simply saying "no, gracias" is sufficient for these individuals to move on. The ambiance was loud due to the traffic and people, but that's to be expected in a major downtown. The service was mediocre, but because the food was good, I've given it 4 stars. The waiter did understand English, for those struggling with español. Actually every restaurant we have been to in Merida had servers who spoke English!

Yelp
Visited La Jarana while exploring Merida on a cruise. We were stopped on the street and invited in by a gentlemen so after some sightseeing we did so. Wow! Everything was incredibly delicious! My husband and I shared an order of chicken fajitas and we both agreed they were the best fajitas we had ever had! My son and sister had the chicken nachos and not only were they yummy, they were bigger than your head! So much food! After dinner we were treated to free margaritas for the entire table! Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful employees and best of all, the food! Thanks for the full stomachs and the memories!

Yelp
We have eaten here twice during our recent visit to Mérida. We really enjoyed it during a precious visit three years ago. We enjoyed it just as much this visit. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. The service is also great!

Yelp
Cute spot in front of plaza grande. The menu is awesome: we had a large Jarana Combination platter (enough for three adults!) but they also have hamburgers and such. Freshly made tortillas and attentive personnel!

Yelp
Americans avoid !!! Unless you want to pay more The food was good service nice location exceptional but for the first time in mérida I got the "american tax " I'd been there a few times before and received a bill that's it on my last night Sept 7 in mérida I got sv stapled copy of paper with a new price with an alleged 15% included which was more like 30 .I would have given the guy 15% or more but I called him on it and showed him what 15% really is I got my change and I left .I told him as i left loudly and in Spanish I hope all the other patrons will get tip included in their bill . he was anxious to see me leave. I didn't want to make too much of a stink for $.60 BTW I was alone not with a group of 10 I repeat !!!! Americans avoid!!!!!

Yelp
I'd give this place stars below zero if that was an option. Living breathing definition of a tourist trap in every aspect. Plus they overcharge you, so if you're unfortunate enough to eat there, double check your bill carefully!
