Where to Eat Ice Cream in the Twin Cities

"A sweet little spot in Uptown, La La serves both kid-approved cones and flavors adults adore. One favorite, the Charlottes’ Web, is made with toasted coconut and dark chocolate swirled into vanilla ice cream. There’s also a wide selection of house-made sodas." - Eater Staff, Stacy Brooks

Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, cute outdoor seating for us and our dogs, and great ice cream/sorbet! 10/10 recommended!

Google
The European cafe vibe in the neighborhood. The dessert and cafe spot is adorable. The prices are reasonable, the ice cream was tasty but isn’t as creamy as I would have liked. The service was kind and they had a pretty big menu too. Surprised they were open later on a Sunday which was nice.

Google
Cute little lunch spot that makes their own ice cream. They offer a variety of sandwiches and ice cream. They also have non-dairy ice cream options! Those are in the smaller tubs in the display case. Cookies and brownies are available too. Check out the freezer case for other desserts. Some flavors change with the season.

Google
Delicious ice cream! Always a fun array of flavors to try. Staff are super nice too. In the summer combines well with a lake walk.

Google
Go for a walk on a sunny evening and get a cup of their fresh strawberry ice cream. You won’t regret it.

Google
I love La La! My favorite flavor hands down is the Marzipan chip. The flavors are unique and delicious, and I can’t wait to try some of the new ones. Perfect place to stop on an evening walk!

Google
Great place to get ice cream. They have fun flavors that change frequently (great reason to come back!). Last time I went I had a Purple Reign, a fun, tasty nod to a certain favorite Minneapolis native. The atmosphere is clean and fresh and everyone who works there is friendly and accommodating. Tons of people bike to La La in the summer for a refreshing treat. They even have a handy water bowl outside for your furry friend.

Google
Very classy place and quire appropriate for the neighborhood it is at. The atmosphere is pleasant and elegant. Very clean place. The flavors are intriguing, I got sweet basil vanilla and marzipan, my companion got ruharb and something else.. $23 dollars. Once upon a time I managed a Ben & Jerry's in the Marina district in San Francisco. In my humble opinion, stingy serving size. As I saw the lady getting each scoop of ice cream I thought.. Oh wow she must be joking... But she was not. I think this place could be considered uptown? Maybe it is like LA where you want to go out and drop lots of cash that you just have to spend, but yet you don't want to ingest lots of calories. So what's better than a place that sells you overthetop expensive small servings of ice cream? I know that's a thing. If that's your thing, go here! As for me, I will keep trying other places until I find one that fits my budget and my palate. This is a description of my experience. Still get five stars because it does deserve it. Just not a place for me.

Yelp
Review from 7/2023 This is not the cheapest ice cream, but homemade is time and money. You are spending for quality and the quality was there. I did not try every option so some might not be home runs, but I was very pleased with our choices! The cutest damn place around! Go here and get anything. We were looking for some ice cream and found this cute place. The area is adorable; you can walk around and enjoy the ice cream. Parking was easy, and the shop was easy to find. They also had ice cream options in a freezer to view. Many looked good, but we were visiting, so we could not take anything home. The service was wonderful, and she took the time to explain all of the homemade options. I also had to taste a couple in case I changed my mind!

Yelp
We got the sampler and tried 8 different types of ice cream. Once they leave the labeled storage container and onto the plate It was difficult to remember the names of the ones we loved! I suggest doing the sampler, it's great to adventure through the variety. There wasn't any that we didn't enjoy (although the peanut butter one was VERY peanut buttery). Cute place, and helpful staff.

Yelp
Came here for a casual dinner and ice cream, and it was so good that we came back the next day! All in all, we got the luncheonette salad, chicken dumpling soup, chicken salad club sandwich, potato salads, and a bunch of ice creams. The club sandwich and salad were both delicious and worth trying. Every ice cream flavor was good, but my favorites were the raspberry honey (which tastes like a creamsicle), and the peanut butter cup. Everything here is done well and staff is attentive with quick service. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Yelp
I was eagerly waiting for La La Homemade Ice Cream to reopen after the long winter break. They have a prime location on the quieter part of Hennepin Ave in Uptown just across from Black Walnut Bakery and a few blocks away from Lake Bde Maka Ska. I finally made my way into the cute shop shortly after it's reopening where I was quickly shown many flavors, some more standard like typical chocolate variations and some more out there like I recall there being an olive oil one that is quite interesting. However, the ice cream was super expensive - I mean I have never seen prices like this before and I have been to many ice cream shops that make their ice cream fresh in house daily. I know the location is prime, but the price to me, especially in Minneapolis was pretty wild so I was expecting something incredible. For reference, the small scoop ends up being about $5 and it's an actual small scoop. I know a lot of places have a "small" scoop and it's huge. This was actually quite appropriately named. Similarly, the single scoop with tax ends up being over $7. I mean, it's just a normal single scoop nothing too large at all. Now to the actual ice cream - I ordered the Monkey Business as I am a huge fan of banana flavored desserts. It was okay, nothing that blew me away. I thought the flavor was pretty muted and ended up tasting unfortunately a little bland. And definitely considering the price, I felt even more disappointed about it. I was also able to try a chocolate one whose name I can't remember, it was slightly better and if that's what I ordered maybe I would have given a slightly higher review but at the price point, I feel it really needs to blow me away which it did not. Overall, sad to say I was disappointed with my experience. Hopefully, my experience is just an artifact of their having newly reopened and them getting back into their ways. I really want to love this place and I see all the positive experiences people have had here on Yelp so I'll try to come back sometime in the summer when things are full swing and see if it's worth it then.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream and very nice staff! We even got to sample the ice cream. cute luncheonette.

Yelp
I came here as a stop on an ice cream crawl and am glad we got to check out this place! Located in Uptown, the storefront looks quaint but adorable. I'd love to come back to try the food menu, but the ice cream I had was quite good, creamy, and flavorful! I had the marzipan chip, and that almond paste flavor was spot-on. They charge 50 cents for "magic shell topping" which is a low cost topping and honestly cheapens the offering, so I found that odd. Other than that, there was plenty of seating, and a gorgeous amount of natural light streaming through the wide windows, so I can see this as a nice spot for a casual lunch. To clarify about the magic shell topping since the business owner misunderstood... it is hard to justify a significant markup over something that can be cheaply made at home and doesn't really elevate ice cream. I am saying that it is frankly overpriced when you can buy a bottle of it at Target for $2 or make it yourself for mere cents when you consider how much La La would actually give you.

Yelp
La La Homemade Ice Cream is a quaint, tiny spot with a few vegan ice cream options daily and a vegan cookie. The vegan dark chocolate scoop ($4) was fine and fudgsicle-esque. The coconut blueberry ($4) was decent, albeit sweeter than I would have liked (I ended up not eating all of it as a result). La La also has a vegan and gluten-free cookie ($1.50) which was terrible. It was dry, sandy and had an off-putting flavor. I hate it when places go for a twofer by combining vegan and gluten-free into a single, horrendous offering. All told, La La is fine, but if you want better ice cream, vegan or otherwise, I think both Milkjam (Lyndale) and Bebezito (22nd Street) are better.

Yelp
Love the ice cream here, I had cappuccino flavor with cake cone and my friend had almond, both are super good, and the service was friendly. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was great and I loved all the ice cream options. It can be a little pricey though. Got two affogato and they were $10 each.
google avatar

Esther Y.

Yelp
I tried their Good Girl ice cream (made with almond milk, lavender, burnt honey). I think it has a coconut-y flavor to it. However, I think it's a little too sweet for me, and the sweetness doesn't seem to have come from the homey. The lavender flavor is pretty strong on this one. Overall, I had a good experience there though, the servers were really nice. I think it's a little on the pricier end of ice cream though.

Yelp
Adorable ice cream shop that smells amazing! My mission here was to try the vegan ice cream. After a couple of samples, I went with the blueberry, lemon, and coconut ice cream. The aroma of the waffle cones being made, led to my decision of a waffle bowl, filled with a small scoop of ice cream. The ice cream was good, but not enough to make me want to order it again. I realized that the waffle bowl was a bad decision midway when it got too sweet for me. Pretty expensive for $7, this spot was good for a one time try. I'd love to see some better vegan flavors in the future.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend came to this place by accident. We actually wanted to go elsewhere but I got off at the wrong stop. This place came up as a suggestion so we gave this place a chance. They don't have a million ice cream flavor varieties but they have a bunch of combinations to choose from with the flavors. They sell pies too! The prices are decent and not much to complain about. We got ourselves an ice cream platter just to try out the variety of flavors they had to offer. Many flavors are pretty uncommon. We found out we were being taken care of by the owner. Which was great! I love owners who take pride in their business. She's a great individual that made sure that me and the other guests were satisfied. Definitely 5 stars!

Yelp
Such a cute ice cream shop! This was the perfect place to stop in during our bike ride around the lakes. I was especially excited for the fact that they had a tasty selection of non dairy ice cream ‍‍ so my lactose intolerant people out there do not fear you can come in here. We tried the good girl, the sorbet, and the good nugget all super delicious would definitely recommend.

Yelp
La La ice cream is tasty and the shop is really pretty. I visited this place with my friends when we hang out in Uptown and it did not disappoint. The ice cream is decent, even though not flavors are created equal. Just taste test them before commiting because some are not as good imo. I personally like the Strawberry & Cookies and Cream. The inside is all organized and cute, and they have limited seating outside too, perfect for upcoming sunny days.
google avatar

Navita P.

Yelp
I narrowed my search down to Lou Lou and La La and decided on the latter. Sorry but I don't get the hype about this ice cream. And I love trying new ice cream shops ! It wasn't anything special. I had the banana / coconut sorbet. I didn't pay attention to what my friends ordered but my girlfriend dumped hers as we left the shop. Parking was tough as there's road work/ construction going on nearby.
google avatar

Hazel H.

Yelp
The ice cream is really good! All clean ingredients which I appreciate. The staff are helpful and friendly. I did see the manager reprehend an employee and raise her voice, it seemed overly aggressive to me.
google avatar

Yelp
Hip hip hooray - another great homemade ice cream shop! I love the richness and unique flavors of small ice cream places, and La La has both. This place has your typical vanilla and chocolate, but my choice was Gold Nugget which was a vanilla base with toffee pretzel pieces and caramel. I also splurged and got a single scoop in a waffle bowl - it's only a dollar extra to upgrade! They have several other options for cones and scoop sizes. They ALSO have ice cream cookie sandwiches and ice cream cake slices!! The one thing that I didn't love was when it gets busy - the wait to check-out can be a bit long since there's only one station. But that's pretty minor. Beware: prices are higher than most ice cream places to account for the Uptown location and the fact that it's homemade. I'll definitely come back because my ice cream was delicious!

Eric E.

Yelp
The best ice cream shop around. The food is amazing!!! We had dinner there and then had dessert after. Spent 2 hours there in this quaint place. Take a walk there if your close, or drive in from the burbs and walk around the lake after.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Shockingly expensive and the owner is shockingly rude. We live 1 block away, and my son and I thought we would be at this place often, as we go out for ice cream or shakes a couple times a month. I could deal with the prices for so-called homemade ice cream, but I can't understand how the owner of an ice cream shop can always find a way to speak to a 12 year old kid so bitterly, loudly and rudely. I won't spend my money here, and we now walk the several blocks to Sebastian Joes, where we can guarantee we won't be treated rudely.
google avatar

Dima S.

Yelp
Yummy!!! I had Charlottes web and mocha almond crunch. These flavors were super delicious! My husband had vanilla and cocoa chocolate. Not sure why he does this at almost every ice cream place but apparently they all taste different :) I did like the chocolate flavor. The place is kind of a hidden location but looks to be an upcoming area. The employees were super friendly. They have Water bottles at each table. I didn't see a bathroom.
google avatar

Mikhala F.

Yelp
Non-dairy flavors were interesting, and inside is cute and quaint, but other flavors were pretty average and prices were steep. The location is ideal for sure--on Hennepin just a few blocks off Calhoun. Definitely location-driven, but the place is cute too! Clean, white with fun iron chairs and even mini chair sets for kids. Tried a sample of toasted hay, and that was interesting and unique! Honestly, most the other flavors tasted the same and didn't really pop or stand out as unique and different. Charlotte's web was pretty basic. Caramel candied pecan and marzipan chip were good. Good Girl -- non-dairy with lavender and honey was definitely the coolest one we got. They do offer magic shell (hardening chocolate syrup) for 50 cents more. Small scoop is $3, normal scoop $5, and two scoops $7, so it's not cheap. Add ons, shakes, sundaes, and more are available. They also do pie a la mode and some baked goods. We also decided to try the "egg cream", which in my mind was going to be something like egg coffee (in Vietnam, they make espresso then whip egg yolk and milk to top). This was basically carbonated water, syrup, and milk. It was very very strange and lacked much flavor at all. It tasted like soda milk? For $3.50, it was lackluster.
google avatar

Yelp
La La is a good fit for the "upper class row" stretch of south Hennepin Avenue, and I feel rich just walking in there. "Where's my tax cut?" I find myself starting to say, before realizing I merely meant to order a scoop of rhubarb ice cream. More than once I've nearly asked other guests if they could spare any Grey Poupon. GOOD: The ice cream here is realiably decent. Gluten-free options for my gluten sensitive wife are a big part of the reason we go here. I can't exactly put my finger on why I don't enjoy this perfectly good ice cream place as much as similar establishments in the area (Sonny's, Milkjam, Sebastian Joe's, etc.). The very traditional old fashioned ice cream parlor decor makes me feel like my dad, and that's not a feeling I'm chasing. The ice cream as mentioned above is always good enough, but never enough to excite me. I walk out the door feeling satisfied, but never truly happy.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
So I finally stopped into this place after walking by it so many times. It didn't take long to decide what I wanted: a Mocha Almond Crunch (Cappuccino ice cream with chocolate syrup swirl, and almond brittle). It was very good, although it did not last very long. Staff was very attentive and friendly and the shop was clean and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Denise N.

Yelp
This place is my vegan Ice Cream place. Their dark chocolate sorbet is super rich and delicious. It tastes naughty and is my guilty pleasure. If you follow a gluten free diet like me, there are a lot of a great options for you. You will be very happy!
google avatar

Peter V.

Yelp
Great ice cream. I enjoyed the blueberry, lemon, and coconut sorbet. The coffee flavored ice cream was good too!
google avatar

Gabby L.

Yelp
Who doesn't love homemade ice cream? Especially in a beautiful little shop, with minimal wait and attentive service? I watched the owner and employees carefully and graciously accommodate a family with a child with nut allergies with careful serving and question -addressing, and patiently let customers sample many flavors. Also seems like they are trying to be environmentally conscious with biodegradable items and ceramic dishes for to-stay orders. Not a lot to dislike here. I tried the strawberry, which was perfect and summery and not too sweet, and maybe the marzipan chocolate? wasn't very memorable, in any case. I ended up getting 1/2 and 1/2 charlotte's web and raspberry honey, since those seemed interesting but not risky enough to be regrettable. The Charlotte's web was okay, probably won't repeat but the coconut, chocolate, and vanilla flavors seemed well-balanced. I could definitely taste the honey and fresh berries in the latter, which I definitely would get again. The servings were a little small for $7+ but I guess quality comes at a price.
google avatar

Katie U.

Yelp
This homemade ice cream has some pretty unique flavors. The ice cream was a little more icey texture than some other ice cream favorites in the twin cities. I ordered the Mocha almond crunch and really liked it. It was mostly mocha/coffee flavors with a few crunchy bites. Wish there would have been more almonds. My fiancé got one of their top sellers, raspberry honey. Could taste the real raspberries but not much honey. Very refreshing flavor. Wooden sample spoons are also used as serving spoons. The wood undertones took away from the some of the ice cream flavors. Maybe they should invest in plastic spoons for serving. This is a cute little place and their distinct flavors are worth the visit.
google avatar

Enock S.

Yelp
This place is super caahhhh-uteeee. I can't believe I've lived in Minnesota practically my whole life and JUST NOW tried it. I'm embarrassed! I had the Raspberry Honey as of my sister the Caramel Candied Pecan! And believe me when I say it is heaven. It is super creamy and extremely soft, and the way it melts in your mouth is literally perfection. The seating is cute, the lighting is cute, the menus are adorable and plus there's a mirror to check if you're cute. Jk. They have temporarily tattoos and stickers at the cashier which i think is super fun! Please you can never go wrong here.
google avatar

Lyn H.

Yelp
As of mid August 2018, the road construction stinks big time and I am sure business is suffering for Lala a little. However - if you venture - the human ice cream treats were decent for sure - but five stars for the dog treat my pup enjoyed! #pickykid I'll be back !
google avatar

Priya Z.

Yelp
This place isn't getting all of the service it should be, but that is because of the current construction that is happen in front of their store and many others by it. The whole street is closed, and thankfully I'm greedy enough to walk through pretty much anything to get myself some ice cream! LaLa's seems like a specialty Ice Cream place, I wouldn't go here if you like plain vanilla, plain chocolate, or any other flavor that has been considered a traditional flavor. They are also very environmentally friendly, and I have no troubles supporting a place that support the environment. Anyway, moving on... Christi got a Lemon Berry, and really enjoyed it. Abby got the PB cup flavor and had it dipped with a chocolate shell. I had the PB Cup flavor as well. I was nervous at first because I was worried it would be too much PB flavor all at once! The PB Cup tasted just like that, a Peanut Butter Cup. and I like my Peanut Butter Cups Frozen, so having it as an ice cream flavor made it that much better! Overall, I would definitely recommend everyone try this place out if you are around uptown! I don't think you will be disappointed, I know I wasn't! I can't wait to go back to uptown just to go here for their ice cream! YAY for LALA!
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Out of all the ice cream shops I've been to in MN, La La's is definitely my favorite. I tend to prefer less sweet flavors, and opt for more subtle sweetness, and La La's rhubarb and mint flavors hit that spot for me. If you go with a group and struggle to make a decision, I do recommend trying their tasting plates. They put mini scoops on a plate, with different syrups to try with them, and it's delicious to try and compare with your party each of the different flavors. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with their signature Charlotte's Web (coconut and chocolate always go together!). My personal favorite is the sweet basil vanilla paired with the mint soda for those ice cream lovers who dislike overly sweet flavors.
google avatar

Maya K.

Yelp
This is the best ice cream in the Twin Cities. Hands down. The flavors are unique without being "too much" and the portions are just right. My favorite is the lemon, blueberry, coconut. It is heaven. The staff is also friendly and patient :)

Benjamin I.

Yelp
I wanted to try an alternative from the usual DQ and Ben Jerry's and I was sorely disappointed. There was hair in my chocolate chip cookie that I picked up the ice cream was just, ok,
google avatar

Liza E.

Yelp
When I do dessert, it's a splurge. I save my calories up for decadent calorie oozing ice cream. It needs to be amazing to be worth the calories. Group consensus... overall the flavors were very timid. Their flavors were really unique but they were so mild they really derailed the decadent vibe of unique flavored ice cream. That said, kudos for being dog friendly and for having non-dairy options. Also would love to see more chunks in the ice cream.
google avatar

Perry S.

Yelp
Artisan ice cream shops seem to be the rage these days. While many of them make "good" ice cream, La La offers something most others don't: unique flavors in a very, very rich, dense ice cream. The fat content must be off the charts, but it's mighty good! Who'd a thunk that basil or fennil could work well with ice cream? But it does! We started with caramel covered with raspberry sauce. Yeow! We'll be back for more. The shop is complete with ice cream chairs and tables. Nancy, the owner, works very hard at her craft and you can taste the difference.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
La La is a charming neighborhood ice cream parlor in Uptown. Come here for a welcoming, small-town-esque ambiance and tasty sweet treats. I personally didn't find their ice cream flavors as amazing as other ice cream shops, but they were enjoyable nonetheless. I got two "kiddie" scoops since the name implied they would be very small, but in reality even the "kiddie" is quite large. So don't be afraid to get it, even if you're a long way displaced from childhood! So next time you're strolling around Uptown, consider stopping inside La La for a sweet pick-me-up and a charming experience.
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
La La is a solid 4 on ice cream. Not the best ice cream I've had but very delicious and worth a try to compare to the other ice cream shops in the Twin Cities. I probably won't go back though unless I'm craving ice cream and it happens to be right there. The shop had a really quaint but cute atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
I just wanted to take this time out of my day to tell y'all that the marzipan ice cream is to die for!! It's my absolute favorite, and I will never not get this flavor when I visit La La's. I'm all about that almond flavor anything lyfe, and La La's is divine! Despite always being in the area, I do not frequent this place enough! When you walk in, a cloud of warmth and sweet smellin' waffle cones greets you. Menu is plastered on the wall and your ice cream selections up front. I chose a chocolate dipped waffle cone and a small scoop of ice cream. I am v thankful for the small as it was the perfect amount. The single scoop would have been way too much. As much as I love ice cream, I'm not out here tryin' to over consume. As for vegan/non-dairy, yes, you're just in luck! La La totally has vegan flavors and several of them on hand too! All the flavor combos sounded really good, but since I'm a creature of habit. I stuck with my usual. Maybe next time when I'm feelin' a little adventurous. All in all, I was happy camper with my ice cream cone on a windy night~

Brennan M.

Yelp
Poor quality food and rude owner! incredibly rude behavior from her. gotta be the worst ice cream shop in the twin cities, way too overpriced for the quality and quantity of what you get.
google avatar

Lauren N.

Yelp
Always excited to try out a new ice cream shop! The venue itself is very cutesy and easily accessible in uptown (although street parking can be busy so keep your eyes open). Ice cream is my favorite dessert and I'm very particular about the flavors and quality and I just have to say that I was very happy with this homemade ice cream! I tried their mint flavor and was surprised with their parsley pairing which actually really enhanced the taste! I ultimately got a cone with the PB cup (I like the classic flavors) and loved the creaminess without being overwhelmingly filling. Really excited to go back sometime this summer to check out their sodas, coffee concoctions, and ice cream sandwiches!!!!
google avatar

Monique H.

Yelp
There was a festival happening in Uptown and we needed a place to get out of the heavy foot traffic and just traffic in general. This cute little shop offered a place to sit and enjoy the quiet for a moment. I tried the lemon berry ice cream and my mom stuck with the chocolate. I think she had order envy because that lemon berry was amazing. We also decided to try their homemade strawberry soda which was just OK. The prices are a steep and the staff looked a little less than enthused to be there, but it was a quaint shop that gave us a break.
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
Best ice cream I've had in the Twin Cities so far! Much better flavors than Izzy's, but same texture. I personally love very thick and creamy ice cream and I have yet to find it in MN. The flavor profiles makes up for that at La La's. The shop is very open, clean, and bright. There are waffle cone and cup options and a gluten free (meringue-like) cookie sandwich option which is delicious! Also baked goods (gluten and gluten-free) that look delicious. I got a gluten free cookie sandwich with half raspberry honey and marzipan chip. I'm not gluten free but I was intrigued by the cookie. It's PERFECT for an ice cream sandwich. I would get it every time. The waffle cones are thick and delicious too! I will be going back every time I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Becca M.

Yelp
La La's has the best of both worlds...they are an ice cream place that also serves breakfast!! By looking at it I would have assumed it was only dessert but the breakfast was great! Satisfying portion size while being served with yummy, quality ingredients! Of course we had to try the ice cream as well. A nice big brownie sundae loaded with ice cream and chocolate syrup was a perfect completion to our meal! I ordered the veggie frittata. It had a good assortment of veggies with a nice slab or cheese (you choose the king) right on top. It came with a high quality side salad. Definitely recommend La La's!
google avatar

Val H.

Yelp
Super cute ice cream store. Kinda expensive but it was worth it. I ordered the chocolate sundae - the ice cream was delicious and the whipped cream was seriously the best part. My friend got the blueberry pie with ice cream - he said it was alright. Overall, I would definetly come back here.
google avatar

Erika B.

Yelp
A wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The ice cream is delicious. I had the blueberry pie in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone. The ice cream was smooth, creamy, flavorful, but not too sweet. Much lighter on the sugar than Sebastian Joe's. The waffle cone was even stuffed with mini marshmallows in the bottom to control drips. (Yes!) Even though it's a little pricey, I will be back, supporting this neighborhood small business. We needed a great ice cream shop in East Calhoun and LaLa is worth a visit. Or two. Or three ... We went back a second time and I tried the marzipan chip. It's so good I ordered a pint to take home.

Yelp
Yuuuuum! Ok first of all, this place is the BEST smelling establishment that I have ever stepped into. You can definitely tell that everything is homemade just because of the smell. They make their own waffle cones and the smell wafts throughout this cute little shop. Everything is all white, almost sterile like- but cozy. There are 6-7 little tables and 2 outside to sit at. The atmosphere is great and the young staff behind the counter is cute and personable, I love them! I am super happy that there were vegan options, and oh my gooood. The burned honey option is amazing. There are a few other vegan options but I've only stuck to this one. (yes i'm aware honey isn't technically vegan) Such a good place to bike to and stop by on a hot summer day. Thanks guys!

Yelp
La La Homeland ice cream is a little gem, tucking inside the residential area of uptown. The atmosphere here is super cute and cozy. Maybe I'm weird but I think the best time to eat ice cream is when it's cold outside so finding La La Homeland gives me so much excitement. A single scoop is $5.5, which I think is a tad pricey but it's a huge scoop so I think it's even out. They have quite a few flavors to choose from and I absolutely adore the coconut ice cream. I love coconut related stuff and this ice cream preserves the perfect coconut flavor. However, the ice cream would be completely perfect if it has a bit more of the fatty tasting factor. The ice cream is great, definitely sweet enough that you can eat the entire thing and still want more, but it isn't fatty enough to satisfy me (maybe they make them like that intentionally so I would order more?). Anyway, it's a super cute place with good ice cream!

Yelp
This is a tough review because I rarely feel this strongly about a business, and for the negative side of things. This is the second time I have been to La La. The first was closer to when they opened several years ago and then this past weekend. Both time, almost eerily, the lady I assume so the owner came out and would challenge and berate her employee right there in front of customers over what they were doing wrong. It was embarrassing for the employee and cringeworthy for us! The first time it was over how to scoop the ice cream and the second time it was for how the toppings were being put on and which topping was to be used. Yes owners can run a business any way they like, but decent human behavior should be a part of any customer service based business. I will never go back. These young employees need to be taught if they are not doing the work to par and be spoke to in a decent manner and not in front of customers. So much more I could say on the interaction, but just know I'll spend my money on very expensive ice cream somewhere else where people are treated decent. Oh and as she was out berating the employee, not even a "thank you" to us as customers for our business. Rather the focus on the "mistake" the employee made...shows where the priority is. No thanks!

Yelp
The owner was very rude. Terrible attitude. The ice cream menu for flavors is unclear she asked me to walk out and read it again. Fortunately I have a better memory. Customer service -1/10

Yelp
Adorable little shop! My wife and I were on vacation and had taken a walk by Lake Calhoun when we decided to get ice cream. Fortunately we checked Yelp first and this place popped up because the road it's on is closed for construction and we never would have found it. Everything here is done with just a little unique flair. I had a simple double scoop vanilla and cappuccino and it was perfect. Employees are friendly with helpful suggestions. I wish we lived closer so we could visit again.
