Great Peruvian food, flavorful and nicely presented. Chicken was delicious and salad that came with was lovely. Pescado Frito was terrific but the garlic rice and lentils stole the show.

I've eaten at La Leña three times now! The staff was kind and knowledgeable. ( some of the menu is in Spanish but they'll help you navigate that if you're worried) I don't remember all the names of food I've tried, but the ceviche was excellent. Really fresh and dressed well with slices of potato underneath. We had potato fries with three different delicious sauces. My partner had a plate of shredded chicken, rice, and sauce. He enjoyed that too. Definitely try some of there house made juices, and if you need a drink get a pisco sour! Super tasty😊

I didn't see in my plate a quarter of chicken, it had three different pieces. Not fresh. Hope they can improve the quality and servings. We want to patronize them, but please quality is important. Ceviche? Not enough for the price. Lomo saltado, the meet wasn't for lomo. We will visit again. The French fries were good.

Cold ceviche. Not Peruvian at all, it was a Mexican version of it. Wouldn't come back for it, but for the deserts. They were very good. Service is okay. I'd expect much more since they say they offer Peruvian food.

This is a very good place to eat in a lovely inviting setting. Our friends had dined at La Lena several times and recommended it both for its authenticity and being affordably sumptuous. And so we all met for dinner. We enjoyed a pisco sour and some superb white wines before the food started coming. The wood fired rotisserie chicken, which could be considered the main event, was utterly succulent and delicious. I have not tasted aji (pepper) sauces this good since I traveled through South America and was pleased to be presented with all three to try. The flavors of each dish comingled nicely and the many textures of the sides were wonderful. The garlicky rice was like manna from heaven. The papa rellena, a lightly fried potato puree appetizer, while resembling an empanada, was light and airy, filled with mushrooms. The servers went out of their way for us. La Lena has an extensive menu for everyone, really for any diet There are so many different things to try! I look forward to having the hanger steak next time and am dying to try the shrimp chowder (which had an unusual name that escapes me). La Lena is both a neighborhood spot and a destination to dine at.

Delicious culinary experience. The chef REALLY knows what he is doing, the best Peruvian food in Portland. Their great quality ingredients make it the real deal.

My best friend from childhood was Peruvian. As an honorary member of her family, I grew up learning how to cook classic Peruvian recipes--lomo saltado, anticuchos, yucca, ceviche, and (my favorite) aji de gallina. I had the pleasure of dining at La Lena last Friday, and it immediately brought me back. The food, the dining room, and the friendly staff are warm and inviting. The ceviche was light and citrusy; the veggie empanada earthy, hearty, and cravingly flaky; and the aji de gallina instantaneously comforting. I'm excited to try the pollo a la brasa, chupa de camarones, alfajores... the list goes on. Given the diversity of food offerings in Portland, it can be difficult to think of a cuisine the city is missing. But after many drives to Gresham for Peruvian food, La Lena is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I can't wait to go back! P.S. Tried both versions of their pisco sour. Where has this drink been my whole life? Hooked.

We had the Pollo a la Brasa and some sides- sooo good. The yucca fries were also delicious. I kept staring at the rotisserie oven in all its greatness because I've seen ovens imported from Italy, Spain, and Japan but this magnificant display from Peru would have made Dante drooling with hungry anticipation. I can't wait to go back and eat La Leña's ceviche, anticuchos, and lomo saltado.
