La Locanda del Notaio

Great setting of the restaurant with a big garden view, offering high quality and well presented dishes that combine local and interesting flavors. All the dishes were excellent, great service with explanation of every dish, highly recommended!

Food is amazing, the place is in a very beautiful and natural surrounding. Did i mentioned the food? Really recommended for a quiet get away. Well behaved dogs are accepted but not in the restaurant. Rooms are spacious enough that our friend could wait comfortably while we dined.

Beautiful, friendly, accommodating, clean... We couldn't find fault with anything. This hotel was the perfect antidote to spending the day in the busy and hot lakeside villages. Slightly elevated it's a few degrees cooler than lower down. Gardens and ground are magnificent, location quiet and peaceful with great views. Bedrooms are well kept with good quality furniture, comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms, good towels, very nice selection of soaps and toiletries and a minibar with a good choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The staff are EXCELLENT. This is how hotels should be: nothing is a trouble to them, they want to find a solution to any question or concern. In particular Serena and Tomazo were 10/10. In the end we didn't make it to the in house restaurant (though we wanted to) but it's seems like it's it's shooting for a Michelin star. This hotel will be missed!

We did not stay here but had Easter dinner here as a three generational family with two young children and it was truly outstanding. They brought food quickly for the young ones. We had a welcome bubbly pour, followed by poached egg with fondue sauce on fresh spinach and wild hops; then a smoked black cabbage risotto, grilled beef with asparagus and spring onions, finished with a dove shaped crispy semifreddo containing the Easter cake Columba and topped with baked meringue. Impeccable service, fantastic wine pairing, elegant setting, beautiful grounds. Highly recommended!

Exquisite food, great service. The menu is original and sophisticated, we really enjoyed every bit of it. Great wine menu as well ! We also stayed for a night at the hotel and had a very good time. Nice breakfast!

we spent a few days at Locanda del Notaio in 2009 when our daughter was a toddler and learning to walk. It was a nice experience and we recently returned for another two night stay. It was low season and we were the only guests in the hotel. Our suite was spacious and service was fine. The garden of the hotel is splendid and was as immaculately kept as we remembered it. Access to the hotel from the Swiss (Lugano) side is somewhat adventurous, with a few super steep hairpins .... access from the Italian side (from Lago di Como) is easier.

Great place! We stayed 3 nights and also enjoyed a great dinner in the restaurant. The staff is super kind; young, but very willing, nice and able to give you a great experience. During the diner we enjoyed the traditional food in a delicate way, loved it! The hotel is clean nice rooms good location.

Service: Everyone was very polite and helpful. As it was our anniversary we had a free upgrade and special treats in our room, a very nice touch. ||||Rooms: Very comfortable beds, good quality bathroom, huge rooms!||||Location: the only down point is that it's quite far away from the main sites (Lake Como, Lugano, Como, Lecco, etc.) however in return, you get amazing views in the morning of the fields and peace and quiet!||||Breakfast: Selection was quite limited but it was fine for a couple of days. If we stayed longer it probably would've been boring. ||||Price/Quality: Excellent
