The fried chicken is usually delicious. 6/25 it was horrible! Raw pink inside! Green s ALL stems and the grilled fish was one piece chopped and extremely dry! I was sooooo disappointed! Ive been going here for yrs! Tasha and the Bartender saved the evening with EXCELLENT SERVICE and great drinks 🍸!

Google
Pay with cash, if you can!!! The bartenders (especially Lorena) like to "pad" their tips. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD, period!!! It helps to get instant bank notifications with every purchase. I received an email immediately. My $2 tip turned into a $20 tip for a $10 FLAT glass of wine, and she was immediately defensive and unnecessarily loud when I calmly asked her about it. And don't get me started on the rude & nasty attitudes from both her AND the manager. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I've been a regular for almost 20 years, plus I live in the community, and I've never been so disrespected. The bartender told me to keep my little funky $2 tip and leave. She messed up my 1st wine order (HOW?!?! wine is easy) And when I mentioned that my wine spritzer tasted flat, she said she couldn't do anything about that. It saddens me that I now have to find another place to go and unwind on the weekends. I'm really going to miss that live band. They are awesome! But I'm going to spend my money where I'm treated with respect. smh.....

Jim Sherman

Google
Good food and good cheer, felt like Louisiana even with the Rams supporters (Saints fans can never forgive the Rams). I wanted the okra gumbo but none available on the weekends, so seafood it was... With my fried oyster po-boy, I asked for potato salad but they gave me fries by accident and that was just fine because those fries were very very good. Service was pretty relaxed but still faster than NOLA, and both Marquisha and Miss Kimberly were very friendly. All and all a good experience but not cheap -- WORD TO THE WISE: for drink I got a Coke on ice and didn't think to check price on menu or ask to see if refills were covered. Those two cokes were $6.50 each -- good thing I didn't ask for a refill, it would have been more than the po-boy. Get water!!!!!

Google
Amazing food and amazing live music, drinks were fantastic and the service was great

Jaziah Gibson

Google
Rejected for wearing a hat when my hair was a mess and I just got off work. I genuinely wanted to come see the live music spend some money and decompress but was turned away after paying $40.00 for an Uber to get here and I thought my outfit was cute. Genuinely disappointed was forced to sit in the back isolated from everyone else didn’t get to enjoy myself.

Rikki Nelson

Google
Very surprised to read the bad reviews. Yes it's an older establishment but clean. The band was amazing! The service was excellent. There was no long wait for drinks or the food. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and not overcooked but juicy! I literally have zero complaints! I had agreed great time and can't wait to come back.

Mr Nedd

Google
Food was great. Service was awesome. Sodas had no free refill. Otherwise all was good. Very welcoming environment and staff. Live jazz in the bar. Music not too loud, we were able to have a conversation without yelling over dinner. The service was awesome and the food was great. Price adds up especially when sodas are $3.50 each and no free refills. Fried clams were good but not a $10.50 worthy amount.

Google
I am glad to have chosen to have lunch here. Do they play oldies? Yes! Is the atmosphere for an older crowd? Yes! But the food was amazing, hot and flavorful. It was clean, cool and the staff was courteous. The entrance took a walk around the whole building to find. If you do not appreciate an older culture, go to Disneyland.

Mykalah L.

Yelp
My first time here to celebrate my auntie birthday . It was packed in a great way tho --- Live band kept the hits playing. Drinks are totally worth the bill . Service is wonderful but it's not enough people working compared to the amount of people needing to be served . So the wait to order food and or drinks took a while . It's a nice location when you want to just go listen to some music have a drink after work for sure . Chanan I believe is her name was excellent

Ricky L.

Yelp
Food Awesome Customer service Awesome Will go back. Got full and satisfied. The atmosphere was awesome also. Older mature crowd.

Yelp
What a GREAT experience!! The food is excellent and the drinks are very good!!! I especially enjoyed the band! The live music reminds me of being back in New Orleans when I was an undergrad! Good times!

Yelp
We celebrated a friend's birthday here last night, July 13, 2024. I will start by saying the bartender and waitresses were amazing. Everyone there was friendly and pleasant. Let's talk about the decor and food. The decor is so outdated it's ridiculous. Before we left I ordered a Seafood Platter to go, which comes with oysters, shrimp, fish, chicken, two sides, and soup or salad. I opted for greens, mac and cheese, and a salad. Once I got home I was kind of tired so I only ate the oysters. When I went to put the food in my own containers to refrigerate imagine my surprise when I saw the pieces of chicken I received (see pics). I called the restaurant to let them know about the unidentifiable chicken I received and was told if I wanted a refund I had to bring the food back. It was around 12:30 or 1:00 a.m and I believe the kitchen closes at 12:30. So, she tried to play me. I decided to throw the chicken in the trash and take the loss because I will never go back. My final thoughts are, they need to remodel because it's so old and outdated, and get a chef that takes pride in the food he/she puts out. I bet they would not serve that crap to family or friends. If you decide to go to La Louisiana and order food to go, please check your food before you leave and if you have crappy food in your bag , get your money back because you can get the same food from somewhere else for less money. You will surely get chicken that you can identify.

Yelp
Been in LA/Ladera most of my life and had never been here. This is an old school lounge that has been around forever. Like The Townhouse and Pips on La Brea, you can get food and drinks while listening to a nice selection of music or a live band on some nights. I loved the little nooks and high tables so you can see the performances. It felt private but not secluded. There is plexiglass partitions in between some of the tables that I liked a lot. I'm going to be honest and say it's in need of refurbishing. It smelled of mold when we walked in. I'm actually ok with the age of the place because I love old lounges but this place has just seen better days. The windows and blinds were very dirty. 5/5: Music/atmosphere: the music was a blend of 70's and 80's R&B. I loved the music. (No live music when I went on a Tuesday night). 5/5: Service: Our waitress was so nice. She had sugar dripping off her! She suggested drinks and was so sweet. 3/5: Food: honestly the food was on the salty side. Some of the menu items may need a revamp. The creole chicken had no garlic or cream, it was more of a sweet glaze. 4/5: Drinks - Strong and got the job done All in all the vibe was nice even though it was a very quiet night. People seemed welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
Sooo I had super high hopes for this place and it failed on every front. The food has me sick until this very moment, the waitress didn't know the difference between sparkling water and tonic water, and to top it off she was rude and ignorant. I searched for her name at least 7 times but clearly it was absent from her uniform. To make a bad situation even more excruciating the singer in the band was karaoke level talent. I heard him howling while I was in the bathroom and had to scurry for the door. I won't return willingly but I hope something comes of this because that place was miserable at best.

Estela A.

Yelp
Been coming here for over 25 years and it's my favorite place. The live music is great. The fried chicken is my favorite. Everyone knows one another. It's my Cheers (For those of you that remember the tv show Cheers). No cover charge.

Meko L.

Yelp
Food is always served fresh and hot. We love the sea food platter! The building is bumping, and the live music is great! The servers have a lot of people to serve. They are often nice, but being here hungry waiting may make you hangry.

Sharon S.

Yelp
This restaurant was a favorite place to eat and order a fish platter from. But not anymore. I ordered a seafood and chicken platter by phone, and they informed us it would be 45 minutes. When we arrived to pick up the platter, they informed us it wasn't ready. And they hadn't started the cooking. After waiting more time once it was ready. The food was terrible. They told us they had to change the cooking oil. Apparently, they didn't . Something was wrong. The taste was terrible. When pulling the fish apart inside was dark, it wasn't fresh shrimp, and chicken was the same. This platter was going to a family gathering. Never never will I go there again. This was embarrassing. No one hardly ate anything, and the price wasn't cheap. Sorry, you lost a customer. I will never go back to this restaurant anymore.

Zenful Z.

Yelp
Classic spot in my neighborhood of Windsor Hills, I can pull up any time/any day, eat good, listen to good music, get my grove on, do some work/multi task and enjoy myself! A lot of old heads but a nice mixed crowd of people/regulars.

Jacque G.

Yelp
The bar tender is rude, and her service sucks. What a shame because this could be a good place if the service was better.

Rhonda J.

Yelp
Good food. Great vibe. However customer service could use some work. We had to wait and continuously ask for a menu. Then sit and wait forever for my bill. We were in town visiting and someone recommended this place. The bartender and three waitresses had the worst attitudes ever. The atmosphere is amazing so I'm not sure why the attitudes.

Jamilah L.

Yelp
As a black business owner, I ALWAYS try to support black businesses and establishments but this place is an absolute disgrace. My family and I made plans to eat at the restaurant on Mother's Day. We attempted to make reservations but they stated that they do not take reservations and it's first come, first serve. We decided to arrive at the restaurant right when they opened. We were the only guests there but they refused to seat us because they said they were waiting on two other parties who made a reservations for later that day. They said since they only had only one server on duty and unprepared to open that they could not accommodate us. Again, this is despite the fact we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant. Mother's Day is very important in our culture. A black owned, soul food restaurant should be fully staffed and prepared for the moment.

T U.

Yelp
I recommend it if you are in the area and need a STRONG drink. This is what saves them. Drinks are a good pour and for grown folks. The ceiling is still the same materials as the 90's Poor service , none of the waitresses were helping us and one even told us she was going home when we asked if we could order from her. We watched her an hour still there. It's greasy bar food. Band used to be good on Sundays. Was there on a Saturday night and they just weren't good. Lots of older seasoned fellas in there if that's your thing ladies (and gentlemen). Ambience needs an upgrade.

Rick B.

Yelp
The food is always good and so I had to bring my party here to get their fill and addiction. Well then the service happened....and that's when my party and I waited for over 20 minutes and not one person spoke to us or even brought us a menu. This place doesn't want to make money. The service is not even appropriate for a dog or cat to be served. I do not recommend this place ever again. It has went to the dumps. Cancel the drive.

Keith I.

Yelp
Wow! What a cozy, dark, French hideaway restaurant and bar. Food was amazing. International staff were fun and attentive, which isn't normally a thing for Aussie restaurants. Food was cooked perfect, drinks were great. Price based on quality was good. - little in the dark side - was with a colleague which was a bit weird but the staff made it fun.

Sharon C.

Yelp
No clue why others are giving this place low ratings. My fiancé and I went here on 5/27/23 for a late dinner and drinks and it was amazing!!! We ordered the Super Platter with a side of red beans and rice to share and for our dranky dranks we ordered a Cadillac margarita and they don't skimp out on the liquor!!! The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and batter and seasoning were on point!!! Fried red snapper, jumbo shrimps and oysters and fries on the super platter were on point too and our bill was around $68. We will most def come back to this spot and to top it off our server Kimberly was amazing and so warm and welcoming and super nice and checked in from time to time to see if we needed anything else. Great ambiance with the live music and the songs when the band and singer took a break! Super cool spot and entertainment!

Christopher C.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying the only reasons for the 4 stars instead of the 5 stars is the sketchy parking situation , the jankity bathroom, and the leather stalls that feel like they've not been upholstered since 1985. Don't know what you can do about parking, cause it's LA and that's just the way it is, but the seats and bathroom situation are any easy fix with some effort. Now let's get to the good stuff, first off, the band was off the chain. Stayed an extra 30 minutes after consuming our food and libations listening to them. The service. Our waitress was the business. She was so jovial and made great conversation. Finally, the star of the show, the food! The Gumbo was ! Also had the platter, which had really good shrimp, chicken, and catfish. Oysters were slimy and not my jam. The portions and price point were terrific, had enough to take back home to snack on the next day. I'm getting the Jambalaya an Poboy next time I'm in town.

Lisa U.

Yelp
My husband picked up the catfish with French fries and the chopped chicken with French fries which was delicious however the gumbo was disgusting , the gumbo didn't taste fresh at all , the gumbo appeared to be sitting in its juices for over a day , this is the worst gumbo I ever tried , stop cutting cost and make things fresh for your customers . So disappointed!

Latasha D.

Yelp
Run! This place has turned into a dump. It needs a complete overhaul too. The service is horrific. Do not go there expecting to be treated like a patron. Expect service like the DMV: rude and uninviting. And, to top it all off, the owner sits at the bar acting clueless. I'm all for supporting the community, but not this place. Nope, never again.

Jac J.

Yelp
The food is ok. Ordered Shrimp Etoufee and had a big bowl of rice&gravy with only 4 shrimp. Service is lousy.....30m wait for order taking...20m wait for drinks and so on. The atmosphere is ghetto. Needs a lot of updating. Especially that bathroom. I've been going here since the '70s, and they never have updated anything. If you have to chase down the waitress for service, they don't need my money. Why is it that these kinds of businesses are always the ones with the worst service and atmosphere?

Miriam Y.

Yelp
I was shocked to see that this place was rated so low. I loved this restaurant and would for sure come back again! My friend and I had a late workout sesh and we're starving. My friend googled this restaurant and saw that this place was open late. Parking-$6 or you can park on the street for free. Service- we were welcomed by many people. The music, service and atmosphere transformed us to the 70's. The seats, decor, the booth seating, the cool bar was all the vibe we needed. Our waiter was so cool, chill, friendly and very attentive. We loved her! She never made us feel rushed and checked on us regularly. Food-we had the seafood platter that Included Chicken, Jumbo, Shrimp, Louisiana Oysters & Snapper fried with French fries. It was about $35! This plate was big enough for both of us and we took some to go! A generous portion is always appreciated by me especially in LA! The drinks- homely you just need to order one because the drinks were so strong but had an amazing taste to them too! We would definitely come back again!

Arcelia C.

Yelp
Is sad we try to patronize our own folks but this place was a let down the Chiken lady Dion is the worst dollar chicken on Thursdays. She has the worst attitude don't want you to order. I had to chase her down the restaurant to order the chicken I asked for some hot sauce and she hit the roof saying she doesn't provide hot sauce with fried chicken SMH i've never heard of such we wanted to order more chicken and she said she wasn't able to take her order until everybody in the restaurant which is ridiculous. We are paying for food and ordered over $200 worth of drinks we won't be coming back.

Brad R.

Yelp
I came early for the very tasty Red snapper basket lunch special. I Sat in the bar area and enjoyed the holiday movie Elf.

Dena T.

Yelp
The last time I was here was probably 15 years ago with my uncle. This time around, I was with my aunt who wanted to check it out. We arrived on a Friday evening after 8 pm. It was not that crowded and they ask for vaccination card and id at the door. We sat at table near the bar. The establishment is old (doesn't look like it's been updated since I was there centuries ago lol). The crowd is an older crowd. Probably 50 and up. If I was looking for a "daddy" or "sugar daddy," I definitely came to the right place. They had a live band (music was a little too loud for my taste) that sung r&b hits. We ordered a tequila sunrise. Positive note, bartender is heavy handed but the drink was short of a tequila sunrise. I ended up ordering a margarita after which was bomb. Most margaritas give me a headache but theirs was smooth. For food, we ordered their chicken and catfish platter. It's hard to find fried fish that isn't dripping in oil. I didn't see any oil residue and it was tasty. Would definitely return.

Lorrie D.

Yelp
Upon entering, the restaurant was dark even though it was early afternoon. A waitress greeted us briefly and said sit wherever you like and then she disappeared. We selected a table and then waited for a good 5 to 10 minutes before she came back and gave us a menu. She was friendly at this time. After checking to see if we wanted anything from the bar, she said she was going to get us some water. She returned with our water and then we placed our order. We ordered three catfish and fry baskets, one bowl of gumbo and one Crawfish Etouffee' to go. The food was really good, nice amount of heat/spice in the gumbo. Portion sizes were nice sized. Prices of Fish baskets very reasonable, I believe my Etouffee was overpriced for the amount I received in the styrofoam container. The waitress also told me it came with 2 sides, however I only received one.

Flenoid M.

Yelp
The service is really bad. I ordered a seafood platter and it was plain and took over 30 minutes to serve. When served didn't seem fresh. I won't be returning

Tiffany J.

Yelp
If I could give this place a zero I would. Customer Service here is absolutely terrible. I try to patronize this black restaurant over and over again but each time it gets worse. Most recent visit I sat way in the back corner aka the slow section, i waited 30 minutes and no one came to table so I got up and ask if someone could serve table, I waited another 15 minutes and still no one came so I got up again and ask someone to serve table. So another 10 minutes go by and I finally left. No one ever came to table or acknowledge our presence so I took my money elsewhere to a white restaurant and was pleased. I have given this place many chances but after this visit I will NEVER go back, the waitresses have an attitude and rude.

C L.

Yelp
We came here for a bite to eat and listen to the live band. The music was really good. The band played hits all night. Our seafood platter came out and we went to town on the fish, shrimp, fried chicken, and french fries. Our server Karen was amazing! She checked on us throughout our visit and made sure we were having a good time. This is a great place for all the locals in the Baldwin Hills area. It's an older crowd so you don't hav worry about the drama.

Seqwendolyn J.

Yelp
Always a good time there. No skimping on the drink sizes for sure and the music is epic

C. P.

Yelp
My favorite spot for a drink and food. Great music and a grown adult crowd and entertainment.

Derrick B.

Yelp
The stipulations for this place should be updated a little. They definitely accept Apple Pay here. It's a cool place. You just have to understand what you're getting yourself into when you go. This is a great spot for some delicious fried food. I haven't had anything else from here. This is also the SPOT for an abundance of boomers. So be ready for that vibe whenever you go. They have live music at night which is perfect for the atmosphere.

Sharrie N.

Yelp
Pros: if you're sitting at the bar- great servers, bar tender knows what she's doing and very very friendly, good food and good music. Cons: tight space, long wait for food - wonder if the kitchen is overwhelmed? The place is so great to hang out and listen to jazz. My husband and his cousins had a good time. We ordered the platter of fired fish and chicken , it was pretty good. Hot, crunchy and not over cooked. Overall, I would go back, but maybe have a pre-meal before my meal.

Jacquie Z.

Yelp
Great jazz at night, the best southern seafood platter, so crunchy and not greasy at all. Our server tonight was Shannon, she was so attentive and made sure we were taken care of even on a busy Friday night. Can't wait to come back in town to come for the jam session!!

Girlie T.

Yelp
5 stars for our waitress, music and drink quality. This was the spot years ago. Nothing much has changed over the years. Gumbo decent just a tad bit salty. We had to tip the band to say happy birthday to me lol

Charles C.

Yelp
After waiting for over 30 minutes without menus or water I told my wife let's get out of here customer service is horrible wish I could put zero stars

JESSE C.

Yelp
I'll start with the server, Tiffany... She was very polite and patient. She accommodated me. I tipped her 25% of a very high bill. But I told her, I would only return just to say hello to her. And I left with that. If not, for the elderly customers sitting around the bar enjoying themselves, I would say this place needs to be shut down. I specifically asked for catfish, and NOT Swai fish. When she brought the food out, it was NOT catfish. The sweet potatoes tasted and looked like none I've ever seen before, almost like pictures you to see on canned vegetables. The greens were tasty. She took the fish back And asked if I wanted a different proteins and I said bring either the snapper or the fried chicken. She returned with 1 warm thigh and some pieces of chicken I've never seen before. I later found out it was chopped chicken... Whatever that is. I messed over the meal and when the bill came, I was charged 20 several dollars for a catfish platter when I received chopped chicken. I was charged $12 and some change for two cokes. With tax the bill came to $43. I am very disappointed in this long established black owned and ran business. However, I'm glad that they can keep the doors open for those who drink liquor, and seem to be enjoying themselves -as they appear to be regulars. But they will never get my business again. Oh... And the Decour is terrible. I'll just leave it at that. I wish them the best.

Taneeka H.

Yelp
Music was ok, service too but the place needs updating, we had a party of 30 some of the chairs are broken, water pictures looked grimy, and food was very bland.Or just didn't taste good to anyone in our party, will not return.

Grey T.

Yelp
The seafood platter and the chicken platter are staples of the menu. The live music and L.A. nostalgia is top tier. The servers and bartenders are nice. There is a reason this place has been thriving since I was little boy.

Lynise K.

Yelp
I visited this place earlier today and the service was terrible. They sat us all the way in the back because of the children we had with us but we looked like we were in the supply area with boxes all around us. They have us our silverware in a bowl!!! We had to wait at least 30 mins for some waters and that's not an exaggeration. Then my food came out an hour later. The ambiance was cool but after all of this happened that was the last thing on my mind. I will not be coming back.

Kendria C.

Yelp
service was awful we waited for 45min to 1hr b4 getting water and food our waitress who was the only server in the bar area never came to check on us food fish and chicken was hot Mac n cheese es was cold also the beans our waitress offered no condiments to go along with dinner

Shakirim B.

Yelp
I take pride in backing Black-owned businesses, even when reviews are subpar. Residing in Woodland Hills, I had a week-long craving for La Lousianne, prompting me to drive to LA yesterday. Despite arriving early to dodge the crowd, I received no greeting upon entering. Seated near the door, the waitress passed my table three times without acknowledging me or offering a menu. After 15 minutes of being ignored, I left. My disappointment with this establishment is profound, and I wouldn't recommend anyone spend their money here.

Kirby H.

Yelp
Went to LA Louisanne last night had a good time with family. Music is always good in my book. The service was excellent the server name is Chanan she kept checking on us I like that and wish her a bless life. Kirby

Missy J.

Yelp
I come for the food. The atmosphere can be fun, but that depends on who you bring with you. They were getting ready for NYE. It was pretty much empty. It's a rainy day. I was in at 430pm. Still, almost 30 min wait for my order. Cook to order can take some time but it wasn't crowded. The shrimp were butterflied, and the dark meat chicken was moist and flavorful. The prices have increased, but that is everywhere. Again, I come for the food.

Dee H.

Yelp
Tasty snapper. Slow service because the seemed understaffed. Friend service and a fun spot to visit. We took three generations (30s - 80s) and we enjoyed the place. Will visit again when in LA.

Ronda J.

Yelp
The Gumbo is HORRIBLE!!! We didn't eat it.,Tried to return it. The restaurant refused to deduct it from the order.

Sheila S.

Yelp
I visited this location for the first time 3/1/2024 Friday night . It was a family gathering for my dad's 82nd birthday. It was 8 of us. My dad got the oxtails he said they was great . I got the seafood platter it was also great. Before everyone was finish eating my dad asked if he could order a seafood platter to go? The waitress who was not so nice because none of us was drinking liquor. Stated yes he could but it would be a separate check. We said no problem. Before the his food came out she brought all the bills, one other person had placed the same order to go. The group bill had the gratuity on it which we paid. My father gave the waitress $ 100 to pay for his to go order , it took her 30 minutes to bring his change in which I ad to ask her about. When she finally return she had took $9 out for gratuity on a to go order. I will not return even though the ambiance was nice. The short hair waitress was bad and rude. I told the hostess what happen as I was leaving. SS

Valerie R.

Yelp
This service was horrible. I was there lastnight. I was totally ignored by the bartender. I sat at the table and ordered 2 drinks from the waitress. I waited 2 hours for a drink. The waitress apologized constantly as I watched 2 women bartenders serve people that was just walking in. I watched them constantly serve others and not acknowledge my order at all. I went over to the bar and tried to get there attention and was blatantly ignored. I ordered food. I got the food before the drink. I received fries with no ketchup. I informed the owner what was going on and he seemed unconcerned. Horrible experience.

Kimley L.

Yelp
Can MICHELIN Stars.check out this restaurant and lounge. Unfortunately La Louisanna service is horrible. Tonight I over heard a waitress tell another waitress that "They want some more fuckin shrimp " . Not to mention our waitress was very rude because we asked for water. I can't believe the owner is allowing this type of behavior.

Tashi S.

Yelp
The building is super old, needs to be remodeled. The shrimp and fish is a 4 out of 5. The red beans are horrible, no seasoning and too watery. They need to hire more than one waitresses for the afternoon. Never going back!
