LOCATION: This place is a gem and very beautiful. BUT, it comes at a price and below I will tell you why. There are a handful of banquet halls down the street and several others around the Hollywood area (at the same price or even cheaper) that you should consider. Please explore all your options before finalizing on this location (except Monte Cristo on Vermont, they are worse!).
MANAGEMENT: Dealing with Joaquin, the owner, is it "hit & miss". Some days he is in a great mood and will give you good customer service. However, if he is in a bad mood he will give you MAJOR attitude, argue with you, raise his voice, and threaten to tear up the contract and cancel your rental (he said this to us). Rent this place at your own risk, but don't say you were not warned in advance.
MY EXPERIENCE: I rented this location 2 years in a row for my annual charity dinner for homeless LGBTQ Youth. Year 1 was great and a 4/5 star experience. But on Year 2, the valet parking company was trying to charge us for several parking spaces that our volunteers did not use (many parked in the street and only 3 or 5 actually used the parking spaces). At the event of our event, me and the valet guy got into an argument and Joaquin, the owner, came out and rather than find out what was going on or try to resolve the matter, he threw us out and said that he would never rent the hall to us ever again. The hall was making well over $2,000 from us and only around $100 from valet parking, so you would think the owner would at the very least hear us out...but instead, he took the side of his corrupt valet people. One of my Volunteers over-heard the arguing and told me that her cousin had rented the hall for a Quinceañera the year before and he yelled at them too.

EL LOCAL: El local esta hermoso y es amplio...pero les puede causar muchos dolores de cabeza al mismo tiempo. Hay varios salones en el area, algunos localizados a solo unos bloques de este salon y otros alrededor de Hollywood (y al mismo precio). Por favor hablen con estos otros salones y visitenlos para que tengan otras opciones y no solo vean este salon (pero NO vayan al lugar llamado Monte Cristo en vermont, ese salon es el PEOR de todos).
MANEJO: Haciendo negocio con Joaquin, el dueño, depende de que humor este el señor. Si esta de buen humor, los tratara muy bien y les dara buen servicio. PERO, si esta de malas va a discutir con usted, levantarles la voz, y los amenazara con romper el contrato y cancelar su fecha del salon (esto mismo nos dijo en una ocasion). Renten estu local a su propio riesgo, pero no digan que no fueron advertidos.
MI EXPERENCIA: Yo rente este local 2 años para una cena comunitaria para niños huerfanos. El primer año nos fue muy bien, tanto que decidimos volver el proximo año. Pero al final de nuestro evento, el muchacho encargado del valet parking y yo estuvimos descutiendo, ya que nos queria cobrar de mas para el uso del parking. La mayoria de nuestros voluntarios se estacionaron en la calle y nunca usaron el parking, solo 3 o 5 lo usaron. Sin embargo, nos quierain cobrar hasta por 20 estacionamentos. En ese entonces, el dueño, Joaquin, salio a meterse en el argumento. En vez de investigar que estaba pasando o encontrar una solucion justa para la discusion, Joaquin nos echo del salon...diciendonos que nos largaramos y que nunca mas nos iba a volver a rentar el salon. El salon estaba ganando mas de $2,000 en nuestro evento y solo $100 del parking, y uno supone que el dueño nos apoyaria a nosotors y no a sus valet parking estafadores y rateros. Una de mis voluntarias oyo la discusion y luego me conto que su prima habia rentado el salon para la Quinceañera de su hija el año anterior y que tambien a ellos les habia gritado el dueño. Nuevamente les suplico que por favor inviertan tiempo en ver diferentes salones para que comparen no solo el precio, si no el servicio tambien. Buena suerte y feliz fiestas hermanos!
