La Madeleine has Always provided excellent food, and consistent quality, but I'm not sure what happened last evening. They provided a smaller portion of their creamy pesto pasta and it was a lot more dry and the taste was a little bland compared to the usual order, and they packed the wrong cookie. If they did not charge so much for their food, I wouldn't expect such high quality as they have delivered in the past. They offered a free cookie so I used that offer, but I requested their sugar cookie and they packed the oatmeal raisin (but, their oatmeal raisin is also exceptionally good). Driving out of the way to pick up part of a late dinner to share with my hubby, after going through a tooth extraction, looking for something soft that I'd be able to eat, this wasn't the quality of food I was expecting to get.

02/15/25: I wanted a quick nice meal, so we came to La Madeline in Addison. What a nice little cafe! Especially like the French lessons in the restroom. I ordered the chicken salad fruit salad and vegetable soup. My wife ordered the Caesar's salad chicken salad and mushroom soup. Both lights are served very quickly everything was delicious. My new favorite is the vegetable soup!

Update: looks like they upped their temperature for the au jus and enjoying it very much! Love the sacher torte (the perfect amount of dark chocolate and chocolate with a hint of raspberry layer ever so) cake is moist and not overwhelmingly sweet as I’m not much of a sweet tooth but this was the perfect everything! and has been my favorite dessert for 15 yrs and it’s been 10yrs since I’ve been to this chain. Unfortunately my French onion (onion was not thoroughly cooked-still a bit raw) it’s still my favorite flavoring from le madeleine. the French dip aujous was Luke warm so was the rest of our hot plate was just warm almost cool temperature. But the flavoring was just right for my creamy pesto. Just gotta get the food out when it’s hot not when it’s cool. Speed of service was just too slow but I still love the offerings.

I have mixed thoughts about this location. On the one hand, food is good, service is friendly and fast, but the place is always, and I mean ALWAYS filthy! It just gets worse every time. I used to come in a few times a week between 7 and 8 AM, but now I go less often because there is never even a clean table first thing in the morning. Doesn't anyone ever clean? At the very least you'd expect someone to clean at closing time so the place opens nice and pretty. The window sills look like they've never been wiped clean. Crumbs on every table and chair. Look under the bakery case near the counters at the registers, piles of debris and trash underneath. The coffee and condiments area is somewhat cleared off in front of everything, but it's obvious no one moves a single bottle or container to the side when 'cleaning' because there is dirt and coffee grinds all over the back and around everything. The trash receptacle is filthy, everything is dirty, dirty, dirty. The most upsetting thing is the fact that these observations are only where the public can see. It makes you wonder what the kitchen must look like! If you aren't going to clean what the guest can see, you certainly aren't going to clean where they don't! I don't know if I feel comfortable going here anymore.

Palmier cookies were NOT cooked. Basically raw. They are this doughy. Every other time I’ve had them they have been golden. Now they are WHITE.

We loved our visit here! My first time visiting the establishment, which did not disappoint. The staff went over and beyond to ensure we had all we needed for our "Beauty and Brunch" meeting with Mary Kay. We reserved their meeting space, and it met our needs. It was separated from the rest of the restaurant with a glass door, but we could not hear outside noise. The food was fresh and the managers, Sheree and Kelly, made us feel valued as guests and customers! Will definitely be back! Keep in mind that the restaurant is smaller than other locations, and during their rush hour, you may experience a delay in ordering and receiving food, but we did not mind as the service was exceptional.

Such a pleasant experience. Delicious food, great customer service & lovely Parisian vibes ✨ You can’t go wrong with them, everything is great

Yelp
I don't know why people sleep on the La Madeleine because I have had great experiences at this location. This time I ordered to go. Normally, I just get breakfast with extra bacon fried hard. The breakfast is filling and very tasty. You can really eat off it twice or two people can share. You got to get the blackberry fruit spread for your croissant, delicious!! I love the potato galette as well. I didn't get my fruit this visit but it is always fresh and sweet. The service is friendly and quick and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Yelp
My go to place for lunch because its right down the street from my work place. Decided to stop by and pay my favorite manager, Kelly a visit and get some delicious food. Opted to try the drive thru for the first time and it was a big mistake. Ashton took my order and was very rude cutting me off while i was trying to modify my order with a rude ma'am okay what else do you want. Pulled up to the window to find they moved Kelly and replaced him with people that hate their job. Andy greeted me at the window and was apologetic and told me he explained to her that she has to be more patient with customers as they don't understand the prompts the order screen shows.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere new to try, so we stopped by about 45 minutes before they closed. Immediately upon walking in a staff member snapped at us with a "how can we help you" which, typically, is a helpful greeting but to her, seemed more of a chore. I ordered the grilled cheese and my boyfriend ordered the beef stroganoff. We got our food & brought it home to eat. The grilled cheese was very flavourless and the bread tasted horrible. My boyfriend said his stroganoff had flavor but tasted as if it were going bad. We went in to order & of course sat while we waited, I used the restroom and it was disgusting. It appeared to have not been cleaned in days. This restaurant has potential but definitely needs new staff who care more about their job.

Yelp
So painfully slow every time ... even for a salad I'm done after this So far I've waited ten minutes for a salad ......

Ender K.

Yelp
Staff is not professional they work with gum in their mouth You need to get right staff How come to work and talk to guest with gum

Yolanda H.

Yelp
This location has a drive thru and I think that is a plus. I was curious in the inside look because the outside was not the cottage looking la Madeleine. The inside was not "cottagey" either. They offer the same menu as traditional stores. They also have a cold case selection which really throws me off and puts me in the mind of a convenience store. It was not very welcoming. Service was "meh" but everyone has a bad day. At the end of the day, I got my order plain and simple. It felt more like a commissary rather than la Madeleine. The tomato soup is still delicious!

Lin L.

Yelp
I was on my lunch break and decided to go to the Drive Thru to order my food. Bad idea, they are super RUDE. Then I got to the window, they look at me like I just ruin their day because I decide to order. No smile, straight face with attitude. People there just not happy working. I got Chicken la Madeline, a potato soup and a cafe latte. Food is okay. I always love their soup. 3 star for food, 1 star for service. If I could, I will give them 0. Definitely will not be back!

Scooby D.

Yelp
Micheal the manager here thinks it's ok to reject multiple customers before the store even is supposed to close at 9 pm.

Anne I.

Yelp
The pumpkin muffin I had was at least 3 days old and dry. I won't be back. Such a disappointment.

Tim T.

Yelp
Great French breakfast and lunch offerings, coffee/tea, packaged salads, fruit, wraps, sandwiches, etc., and excellent desserts as well as pastries at reasonable prices. This location also has a drive-thru where you can get any of their menu items to go. They have various locations throughout Dallas but this may be one of the only ones with a drive-thru. Definitely a place to check out!

Mariely M.

Yelp
Bring back your cranberry bread!!! This place is delish! I have no words but to cry if they don't make there cranberry bread!!

Lauren P.

Yelp
We were confused about the change of style in this location. It doesn't have that cozy feel with the fireplace. We were also confused where to order and no one greeted us. The cashier had a stone face and was not friendly at all. I had to look around to find a menu while she just stood there. The hashbrown was burned on the bottom, and food was delivered with same stone face. We came here looking for a better location, as we had a worse experience at the Coit and Campbell la Madeline. I miss the days when we were greeted at the door, sometimes even in French! It used to be an experience and now just very disappointing.

Lawrencia L.

Yelp
I come here for their lemon tarts and they are divine. I truly love them. I usually come to this location at least once a week for a lemon tart topped with whipped cream.

Sharon T.

Yelp
This is not a typical La Madeline for sure-called a grab and go. We were there mid afternoon place was empty We were happily greeted and clerk was really friendly and helpful. There was a few fresh baked breads and rolls. Lots of prepackaged salads/sandwiches and tarts. I was hoping to get a slice of chocolate cake but didn't see any. I got a chocolate tart it was pretty good. There is a drive thru and lots of parking-which their old location on beltline didn't have. Lots of tables inside and a couple metal tables out front. Not sure if they offer hot food. I will stop at a different one next time.

Yelp
Compliments for la Madeleine on Montfort in Dallas. I live 2 hours away and have a family member that is sick in Farmers Branch, Texas. I mistakenly assumed that I was ordering a delivery directly from La Madeleine . When the order arrived, it was short 2 items. I called the café and they said we could come pick it up or we could call the unnamed delivery service to pick it up and deliver it to the recipient's house. I did decline due to the distance and contacted another family member who was out of town but could go by and pick the two items up today, which he did. I have not heard back from the delivery company nor the driver. The family member went by today and picked up the two items (both beverages) AND coupons for entries complimentary of the La Madeleine on Montfort in Dallas. My family is grateful to La Madeleine on Montfort! What a kind gesture and business manager(s).

Yelp
My first ever experience with a La Madeleine and maybe my past. Just returned from France and seeking a good croissant. This wasn't it. Pain au chocolat ws basically a chocolate cream filled donut in semi-flaky dough. Instead of rolling chocolate into the dough, simply squirted in two pipettes of chocolate. Croissants were stale, chewy and nothing fresh. How sad.

Ana A.

Yelp
The best thing here, is that it has a drive-through window. Which is best for coffee orders and pastries & breakfast. The chocolate almond croissant is my favorite. They have lots of ready-made salads and sandwiches ready to go.. But they didn't look too appetizing to me. French onion soup is still available. They still make fresh baked bread such as Baguettes. I did not see any fruit tarts or Sacha tortes (I probably misspelled that) But they do have other sweet desserts including the crème brûlée. I don't remember seeing any cookies. This type of concept would be better for an airport. But I will settle for getting my coffee here instead of the wraparound line at Starbucks. The place is clean a quiet inside. No fire place lol This place is a huge disappointment if you are expecting the usual menu.

May L.

Yelp
Party of 1. Cute and clean place, makes you semi feel like you're in Italy. I stopped by for a quick small dessert order. Consequently, they didn't have much selections left during the time I went (around 6:30ish PM). The gentleman helping me greeted me after some time and asked if I'd been at "this location" before. I was visiting from out of state so I hadn't been to any location. So he walked me through what they had and how they aren't quite the same as the others because they were more of a "market" than a bakery. As a result, I decided to only try their dark cherry and cream cheese pastry and a mini tart lemon meringue. The pastry was indeed delicious, but I didn't try the mini tart.

Laurell M.

Yelp
The potential is high but the service is not. About 1/2 of our orders come out missing an item. No soup. No chicken on the salad. This is very annoying with to go orders. You have to sit and check every item yourself. Beyond that the salad is charged at full price but is significantly smaller than if you eat and have it made fresh in other stores.

Jordan F.

Yelp
What happened to FRESH food? They gave my a hard ass croissant with chicken salad and charged $10.

Samuel G.

Yelp
Yo what the heck is this??? I didn't just pay $33 on a frozen salad! Highly disappointed with this drive thru. Madeline has always been a favorite and in this location they happen to have a drive thru. Figured they will have the exact same as the inside with the warm chicken and fresh mixed Cesar salad.. NO! They literally gave me a frozen salad with cold chicken and a slapped Madeline label, as if it's shipped with chicken and everything inside. Jeez. They don't even have the breads anymore my I honestly didn't even eat it I threw away that crap, I could have bought it in Walmart for like $5. This is not acceptable and I am telling everyone right now SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go get a Walmart salad for 5$ instead of this overpriced cold salad junk.

Breanna A.

Yelp
I love love love their coffee! I get the Americano. I'm also obsessed with their ham and cheese pastry. The customer service is okay. I love the way the place is designed. It's annoying that they don't take discounted items off the menu.

Terry G.

Yelp
A relatively new location for the operation that adds a few distinctive elements. Definitely targeting the on-the-go person, with a drive-through window and around-the-building parking/driving. First time here, I was looking for a place to weather the Friday afternoon rush hour traffic, and I was not disappointed. Same great food with a less French provincial (yet very welcoming) ambience. Ample table space to set up the laptop and paperwork, and the attentive staff kept the dining area neat and clean. Background audio was AT THE PERFECT LEVEL to relax, yet not too loud to preclude telephone conversation, and the genre of music selections was welcoming. Restrooms were very clean and easy to access. You really knocked it out of the park with this one!

Rameen T.

Yelp
These ******* simpletons do not know how to run a drive thru. One customer ahead in line will order a full course meal, then one behind him will order a coffee. The guy in front will wait at the window for 20 minutes for his food to be prepared, meanwhile the coffee customer will ALSO have to wait 20 minutes. Instead of sending the customer with the full course meal to the side to park, they make everyone wait. This is pathetic. Im serious, this is how it works at this miserable establishment. Baffling.

Josh H.

Yelp
This is what I was served. They pulled this out the oven, saw it, decided to serve it to me anyways. Unacceptable. Unbelievable.

N F.

Yelp
They add extra charges to your total without telling you first. When asked they said it was for inflation.. At least tell me you're adding extra charges and I will be paying more than I expect.

Lady C.

Yelp
Great place to get a French pastry. Their breads are made daily and always fresh. The store is small but quaint.

TaNisha R.

Yelp
I was upset with the service I received here on today. I brought my son here and when we pulled up to the drive through window I asked a question and I'm guessing she didn't understand it and sort of just blew it off. We ordered a Turkey Bistro and potato soup. We sat at the window about 5 mins before anyone came. Then when she did come she just told me my total took my card handed it back and we waited an additional 13 mins for one sandwich and one soup. There was no one inside and one person that was in the drive through behind me. May I add that that person hopped out of line went inside and left with their order before me. Then I finally blew the horn and the girl came to the window dumbfounded when asked why was the wait so long. I will NOT be returning here, and after reading the reviews I see I'm not the only one.

Anthony B.

Yelp
The execs at La Madeleine must of thought taking the Hudson News shop out of an airport and making it a standalone shop was a good idea. It isn't. I walked in, tried to find a menu, only thing I could find was a menu of coffees and drinks. In front of you is a bunch of pre-packed salads and various items. It said there were hot sandwiches available, but I had no clue how to order one or what the selections were. After a few moments of confusion, I left. I can't tell you how good the food is, but I can tell you this concept is such a waste on a large retail spot. Why they didn't just slim down the old La Mad menu to keep their costs down and maybe add some easier or profit boosting items is beyond me.

Aundrea W.

Yelp
I have been coming to LaMadeleine for years here in Addison. Once they opened their new location it's been just awful! I've tried 3 times to give it a chance but it's never up to par. The food has gone completely downhill. The Caesar salad is so soggy I can't eat it and the mushroom soup is so runny they need to serve it in a coffee cup. Needless to say one of my used to be favorite lunch spot is now just a memory. And to think I paid $23.00 for this so called lunch (see photo) with so many better choices around! Spend your hard earned money on something worth eating!

Delilah M.

Yelp
Nothing to what I get! This place was terrible and the food was terrible! I told her this was under cooked and nothing! Then they gave me a juice with no straw and said I can use the straws they provide um no I need the shape tip. Will never come to this place I'll stick with the Preston and Forest! Do not come here the staff is oblivious of what's going on.

Sean S.

Yelp
Five stars for a drive thru!!! But then my salad came out in what looked like a boxed lunch at some catered corporate event function with the dressing on the side. After reading the reviews I understand why. Won't be back to this location.

Josh H.

Yelp
Terrible microwave tasting food. Burnt croissants. A joke of an establishment since they moved locations.

Paul L.

Yelp
Not only did they forget my soup, but we both got sick from their sandwiches (two different kinds). 0/5 would not come again.

Brad S.

Yelp
This concept would be fine for an airport or food court but not when it's branded as a regular La Madeleine. Very small menu, everything is pre-made. I'll go back to the Richardson location next time. Also, it's great they a bakery out front but since they don't actually give you bread and jam. I'm not sure what the point of it is besides for looks.

Moojan M.

Yelp
My husband and I are big fan of La Madeleine in general, but I have to say that we had the best experience today at the Montfort location. The staff are very nice, the Manager "Sheerin" was super nice. We never got this customer service in any other location, Usually, we just go for the food, but this time on the top of the great food we enjoyed their customers service. Even though this location is a little bit far from us but we will definitely be back.

Mya C.

Yelp
I've been to La Madeleine before, but this location has been the worst one. As i'm trying to order and the woman at the register was very disengaged. Ordered a croissant and the tomato soup. As i was ordering the tomato soup i asked about the bread and asked to get some with my soup. The croissant took about 10 or so minutes to come out and was brought to the table. I waited 20mins before i went up to the counter to ask about the soup and the lady said she forgot about it. SHE FORGOT SOUP I HAD PAID FOR AFTER THE CROISSANT WAS BROUGHT anyways my tomato soup was brought out and i still had to ask for bread . And when i asked she ignored me both times but came back with 2 slices. i had to go back up and wait almost 10 mins for 2 more slices of bread Not to mention that there were plates and bowls on the trash that were piling up. food was alright but definitely won't come here again.

Elena M.

Yelp
Be aware, this is not a typical la Madeline location. They seem to be testing a market concept (stated best below as akin something you'd find in an airport). I was told there was no menu, so my only real choice was to walk up and down the display case to decide what I wanted - which would be fine pre-COVID but now I don't want to be walking past people to look at the food choices. In retrospect, I should have gone through the drive through since they do have a menu there but I did not know before entering that it was not a full service location. I ordered soup to go and was not given a spoon, napkin or crackers/bread/anything. Again, I should have asked but assumed ordering to go would receive a spoon. Panera, Corner Bakery, McAllisters and many other like lunch concepts are in neighboring shopping centers. Next time, I would go to one of those so I can at least get a spoon and piece of bread with my $6 bowl of soup. The positive was that the staff was very friendly and there appeared to be a bakery on site where people were making fresh bread.

Emily H.

Yelp
This was not what I was expecting. I have always gone to La Madeleine for its cozy atmosphere and hearty meals. Other reviewers have accurately described that this location is more of a grab and go concept. I was very confused by the lack of a food menu inside (with only beverage options appearing on the digital menu screens), and disliked having to roam back and forth choosing my meal from a display case. The food doesn't seem to be the same quality as traditional locations. If I come back, it won't be for a leisurely meal with friends. I would consider driving through for a quick snack or meal on my way somewhere else. I don't think La Madeleine will win over fans of its traditional locations with this new concept, but maybe it appeals to people looking for a quick bite that is a little different from standard American fare.

Chris C.

Yelp
I called to place a order. The lady on the phone even repeated the order and told me how much would be and be ready in 15min. When I got there, was told that there was no order. No apology or nothing, just that if want it to place another order and way another 15mins or so..

Tracee L.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised to see there is a drive-thru and then almost immediately disappointed at how awful the service was. With only three cars ahead of me during the lunch hour, I was able to pull right up and quickly place my order. It was soup so I thought that would be easy enough. Well, after deciding to turn my engine off because of the FIRST wait that turned out to be 15 minutes, I recognized that there could easily be at least another 15-minute wait for each of the two remaining cars in front of me. I pulled into a parking space and went inside only to see the customer who walked in as I first pulled into the parking lot and at least three other patrons still waiting for their orders. Their facial expressions ranged from concerned to pissed off. Even though it was lunchtime the place wasn't packed at all. Maybe that explains the lack of urgency among the staff? It reminded me of the DMV scene from the movie Zootopia. Two sloth-like employees were standing over a couple of pots of soup leisurely pouring a few ladles into takeout bowls and appearing as if they didn't know what to do next...like there was no logical next step. A third sloth-like employee was at the register appearing to have a casual conversation with a customer and then stopped briefly to tell the ladies that the guy who walked in as I first pulled up had arrived first and still hadn't received his order. The ladies looked confused for a moment as they listened, didn't acknowledge what was said, and then continued about their leisurely sloth-like pace. I was able to asses that I should just leave and go someplace else, so I did. As I drove around the lot to get to the exit, I observed the same cars still sitting in the drive-thru. Needless to say I don't recommend this La Madeleine location. Hey Management who will inevitably respond to this review, don't bother responding here. Instead invest in your employees and ways to improve your operations. Train your staff and encourage them to take common sense actions like, you know, moving customers with larger orders in the drive-thru to a parking space so they don't hold up the line and prevent service to people behind them with smaller orders.

Bre ..

Yelp
Fresh new environment. Not your typical la Madeline. Thing that I did not like... pre packaged salad. I love my chicken Cesar and the fresh chicken put on it. This was a no.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Service is awful.. not a normal la Madeleine selection. The people inside didn't know what was on the menu for the drive through... first review I've ever put up but wow this was disappointing

Zondra U.

Yelp
I have been eating at La Madeleine for years. I love their food. However, the food at this location is disappointing. I ordered the quiche Lorraine and it was super underdone. The crust was so doughy I wasn't able to eat it. I have never had this problem at their other locations. This location follows a new concept where most of the food is pre packaged. They need to go back to the old way of doing things because this is a fail.

Jen H.

Yelp
My coworker and I stopped at this location today. The cashier was extremely rude. I asked her about a bakery item since it was my first time there. She responded "I don't eat lemon so I don't know with an attitude out of this world. She placed my ice latte on the counter instead of placing it in my hand saying " here's your latte and walked away." Lastly, when my order was ready, she placed my bag on the counter and slid it to me. She didn't try to place it in my hand like a normal person would. Instead she put it on the counter and walked away. I've never experienced anything so disgraceful as this. I will never go to this location again. Customer service should should always be a priority when working with other people.

Mina B.

Yelp
We were so excited to have la Madeline reopen near my shop. My coworker picked up the food we ordered , she told us is a different concept, hopefully the food is good. We all had to thru away the food after the first bite , my sandwich was made with real old bread, the Ceasar salad was like eating cardboard and...... We try to support the Restaurants around our work. But I can't say that about this one. The gas station near us have better sandwiches.

a c.

Yelp
I love the former/regular la Madeleine so much and was incredibly disappointed by this location's food quality. The menu is completely different and the food is incredibly cheap. It was not even edible -- I threw away my food after the first few bites. Even the tomato basil soup tasted different. I would be shocked if this new concept does well, and I wouldn't be surprised if la Madeleine actually looses long-time fans at their regular restaurants as a result of this new concept and confusion. And I'm also angry that I've lost one of my favorite restaurants. Save your money and the heartache and go somewhere else.

Zachary K.

Yelp
This isn't a real la madeleine, if you want pre prepared microwaved food then this is the place for you. Super disappointed that they replaced addison's real la mad with this garbage.

Mandy A.

Yelp
Best breakfast I've had since being here! Croque Madame sandwich!! Took a little while to make, but so worth the wait. Delicious!! I'm unsure as to why the low review, but so grateful to have stumbled across this gem! Nutella croissant muffin was also delicious!
