While La Madeleine is a regional chain, the Las Colinas location has garnered special attention from local critics for its inviting European ambiance and strong ties to the neighborhood. The Dallas Morning News notes its popularity among locals seeking a tranquil spot for French press coffee and fresh pastries. With a sunlit patio and a menu full of Parisian classics, it’s a go-to for leisurely mornings or a mid-afternoon recharge.

Loved this place! The ambience was really nice cozy and welcoming. I had the avocado toast, which was fresh and flavorful. The chocolate almond croissant was absolutely delicious, and the cappuccino was spot on. Their breakfast potatoes/hash browns were a standout perfectly crispy and seasoned. Definitely planning to go again!

Google
Food seems overpriced, about $12 for one mediocre waffle. Service was nonexistent. You order at a counter, food is brought to you without utensils, and drinks without straws. If you’re looking for a fun brunch spot, this is not it!

072625: it is Always so nice here! We escaped from the heat and rain to find a. Non crowded urban Oasis. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and chips, my wife ordered the Chicken Parisen and Cream Mushroom soup. Everything was served fast and , of course, tasty. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Earlier post: Celebrating Bastille Day, we came after church. We ordered the special. For me a nice Chicken Salad on croissant with Caesar salad. Man, was that tasty! Thank you for another excellent experience!

Love the new menus, food is absolutely amazing, the portions have gotten better and the coffee was perfect.

Google
Had a great experience with a catered lunch today. Staff could not have been any friendlier and more helpful. The food was delicious. Really appreciated that they took the time to ensure (via text) that veg sandwiches were in the mix on the platter since I requested the bacon on the salad be served on the side for that purpose. We will be ordering here again!

Google
Got the citron tart and chocolate cake. Chocolate cake was a 10/10 - moist, decadent and perfectly sweet. The citron tart was a BIG disappointment - tasted too strong and artificially flavored. Not buying this from here ever again!! 0/5

Google
La Madeleine was a fantastic spot to kick off a day in Irving, as I took my friend who had visited from another part of the world. We had a variety of breakfast items and were extremely impressed. The food was top-notch - it was fresh, bursting with flavor, and truly evoked the essence of a French bakery. Each bite was a true delight, particularly the muffins and croissants. And, of course, no breakfast would be complete without a steaming cup of coffee. The coffee was impeccably fresh and expertly brewed, serving as the ideal pick-me-up to fully appreciate the beautiful morning. It was delightful to see numerous morning joggers enjoying their coffee, muffins, and croissants. I wholeheartedly recommend La Madeleine to anyone seeking a scrumptious and laid-back breakfast to begin their day perfectly in Irving.

Yelp
Greta place for dessert and breakfast. Service was okay... not super helpful at first, but got better with the kitchen staff helping out. The food came out hot and fresh. Great little breakfast spot with basic menu. The fireplace inside adds a nice touch. Plenty of parking around the building.

Yelp
Went here for lunch. I got the 1/2 order grilled cheese and a side Caesar salad. It did not disappoint. I love their grilled cheese.

Melanie A.

Yelp
la Madeleine has a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious food. Their omelet was tasty and filling while their American breakfast was perfectly cooked and came with the most delightful croissant! Yum!

Yelp
This restaurant is my happy place! I love the avocado toast and mango iced tea for breakfast. I have special requests on my orders, and Monty always gets them right. The whole crew here is pleasant and professional. When I am treating myself, the chocolate almond croissants are a decadent pleasure!

Yelp
Cute place, Very relaxed atmosphere. Food was average though, nothing to rave about. One extra point for the speaking French 101 audio that plays in the restroom

Yelp
Came for a quick lunch and meeting. I had the turkey and cheese croissant, cheese was a little thick but as usually it was fresh. I also had a strawberry bacon salad. The service is always fast and workers were very friendly. I sat in front of the fireplace to set the tone! I enjoyed my workday here

Yelp
This is a great la Madeleine location, forgot how good their French Dip sandwiches were. Got that (with a side of extra horseradish) along with a side of fruit and some pastries/desserts. Hope to order their French omelette with cream next time. This location is more rustic/traditional than the others.

Yelp
Gross! Looks like they've been "saving" this pink-tinged, dried out lettuce for a couple of weeks. My takeout Caesar salad this evening was far less than appetizing! And for a takeout order, why would you put the croutons for onion soup in a bag, but for a Caesar salad, mix the croutons directly into the salad, where they're sure to be soggy by the time you get home with your food? Come on, La Madeline! I was generous giving you two stars today because I used to love going to the LM near me (now closed), but this is unacceptable. You can do much better than this!

Yelp
Stopped by one morning for coffee. Normal drip coffee which was cold not even warm. It's was self service as they gave cup to pour the coffee. Place could have been cleaner.

Yelp
This was my 1st time here & I'm not really impressed with the items I got. The staff was really nice and helpful. The area seemed large, I just stayed to the front. The chocolate tarte was the best out of the 3 times I got, the other 2 were really dry, not soft to be muffins or croissants. I doubt I'll go back but it was nice to try them out.

Claire K.

Yelp
I went today for lunch and to do a little bit of work. I was very impressed by Monty who was so kind and attentive! The food recommendations were great and I loved everything I got. The seating area is so cozy especially by the fire. Will be back!

Yelp
Ordered Caesar salad with salmon. Menu doesn't specify so I assumed the salmon was grilled, or at least cooked. Server grabbed a baggie and dumped what looked like uncooked salmon directly onto my salad. I touched it and the salmon was cold. I asked if they could griddle it, and it arrived just heated but tasting like poached fish. My salad was unpalatable and I could not eat it. Quiche was tepid from the warming lamp and I had to ask for it to be heated. I ordered tomato basil soup and it was out. They said it would be 15 minutes and it's now been 30 minutes and still no soup. What gives? The ambience is typical LaMadeleine, not much else to say.

Yelp
Visited this location on April 20th in the afternoon. My moms nursing home is nearby, so I thought I would grap a quick bite and take some pasteries to moms nurses. There are so many great options to choose from. I finally chose the Creamy Pesto Pasta with chicken. I had read a positive review about this entree, and they were correct. IT WAS DELICIOUS!! I did sit by the fireplace, which made me feel cozy and at home. On my way out, I picked out an assortment of pastries, and the young lady did a great job of boxing them up with care.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
The salmon was very subpar and fishy! It's like they boiled it instead of cooking it. They didn't cook it in the sauce they just drizzled the sauce on it. The salmon smells very fishy. Now the broccoli was very cold, and tastes like it was out the freezer bag! There was no seasoning to anything I ate not even garlic powder or garlic salt. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone however that is just my personal opinion. For 20 dollars it just wasn't worth it

Yelp
Coincidentally our family just returned from France. Of course we went to many Cafés. I had to travel for work and stayed at a near-by hotel within walking distance and still reciting Bonjoúr and Mercí I felt I had to visit la Madeline. So as soon as I walked in I felt like I was back in a café, sort of. They have a takeout counter and an order-in counter. Self serve beverage station (not a France staple) and condiment with tableware. The croissant are ehh, definitely not French quality. It they do taste good just not the flaky characteristics of the 'one and only'. Coffee is good but again not as strong as France. But then again we are not in France so understandably that might not sit well with the customer base. I ordered the French Breakfast. Not sure what is french about it. Maybe the tomato it's served with? The potato appears to be a french version but I did not come across that or did not enjoy it much as it seemed a little greasy. Now the takeout counter has a display case with yummy goods in it that I could literally pick up and move to France and you would never know the change. I have been back a few times since my first visit and my impressions are the same for the most part.

Yelp
The French Onion Soup and Caesar Salads have been favorites of mine for years. Flavorful French Onion Soup is hard to find, so that's what makes La Madeleine special for me. Over the last few months I tried other dishes including sandwiches and desserts, but those were mediocre. I found this restaurant a comfortable place to meet with friends or clients -- especially with the outdoor seating. But the place does get busy around lunchtime, so plan accordingly. Parking is ample and convenient. The staff is friendly, sometimes communicating with a French accent.

Yelp
My gf and I decided to give La Madeleine a try as it was one of the only places open on Sunday during the snow storm; and we were glad we did! Please don't let the previous negative reviews deter you because this place is great! Immediately upon entrance we greeted by Will you was extremely polite and helpful! He even thanked us for coming out in the snow :) The food was delicious! Everything from the French toast to the cheese eggs. We enjoyed your brunch by the cozy fireplace and it was simply perfect. Prior to leaving we ordered a few treats to go; fruit tart, lemon Madeleines (which were pillows of soft goodness) and strawberries and homemade yogurt...all delish! I'm really glad we stopped by and we will certainly be visiting more often. Thank you Will and team!

AntiaFaye A.

Yelp
Great service, great food, and great atmosphere! When I walk in I'm instantly greeted by the staff.

Arian V.

Yelp
The coffee machine has been out of service for a long time. Incredible! What do you need to fix it? More tips? Dang!
google avatar

Jaclyn A.

Yelp
Enjoyed this fast brunch! We always get their mimosa's! Unfortunately service may lack when certain personnel work. They did change their french toast to croissants now from what is pictured. ~ Country French Breakfast ~ Cinnamon Croissant French Toast ~ Mimosas

Yelp
Atmosphere is beautiful, then downhill from there. Your surroundings can only go so far. Yes the stone fireplace is the envy to, well, everyone. It was cafeteria style which was the first surprise. Deserts look fantastic. We ordered 1 sausage and egg breakfast croissant, coffee, and one of their cookies. The sandwich was the size of a baby's fist, not even that of a toddler. The coffee was fair, not good but I've had worse. The cookie, ah the cookie. I saved it for later at the hotel so I could make me a better cup of coffee to accompany it. It was so pretty I wanted to savor it. I'd have been better off buying a roll of toll house for the same money and cooking those. Would've been a heck of a lot better tasting and shared to all. Just overall very lacking and yet I expected so much from the Hispanic girl that says "bon jour" upon entry. $21 for coffee, cookie and mon petite croissant. Ouch.

Yelp
UPDATE..... Sending a big THANK YOU to Alley. I returned the salads to the restaurant and spoke to Alley about my issue. She immediately went to work on it. She was polite and very nice. She told me she would refund my money and she did. She also offered me the salads that were made incorrectly & because of her great customer service, I will visit the restaurant again.

Ally F.

Yelp
bad service bad atmosphere. rude. Rude. Marginally clean. Food was gross. Even the tomato basil soup. Staff were horrible. My mom had a crouton that looked half eaten. They tried to cheat her order at least twice. I usually eat about 300 calories per meal and 250 can make me full if its salad and meat. That's what I got this time, but it took so much more to make me even marginally full. I probably ate about 650 and was still hungry. On the positive side, the feta was good. Either eat a bunch of feta or save yourself the money.

Yelp
This location could use some TLC. It's a bit worn and dated and not a reflection of what I remembered about past experiences at other locations. The food was okay - I had 1/2 of a Chicken Friand with a side of pasta salad and a cup of tomato basil soup as part of their $13 [IIRC] special. The restroom area didn't smell so pleasant, and the men's restroom sink was inaccessible due to some work they were doing when I walked in. I had to have an employee hold allow me to use the women's sink while said employee held the door open while I was in there. Though it was not busy during our time in the restaurant, several tables were dirty from before we sat down and even until after we finished. The staff were nice and helpful, but despite the low traffic in there at the time, there were no forks in the dispenser, so they ended up giving us plasticware packets. I wouldn't look to return here unless I know they made some improvements.
google avatar

Rodolfo G.

Yelp
It is not what it used to be a few years ago. Food quality went down significantly. Tables were not clean. Employees seemed badly trained in basics including hygiene (i.e. one employee was sweeping while taking our order, then proceeded to serve out soups without changing his gloves or washing hands... yuck!). No bread, no homey feeling, no manager in sight. What happened?!!
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
At the Irving location (Royal at MacArthur), the tables are typically dirty and filled with used dishes and the coffee is typically cold. It's too bad, because it's a great central location in North Irving. Only eat here if you have to.
google avatar

Duann A.

Yelp
This restaurant is dirty. Sat down at a dirty sticky table. Took forever for someone to come wipe down the table and the rag they brought out was nasty. We requested a clean rag. The food was good.
google avatar

Camille Y.

Yelp
I really need them to start cooking the quiche. I got my meal to go and this is the second time the bottom has been raw and I don't know wtf is going on with the top. Plus I didn't receive any utensils. I came on a Friday at 12 on 3/17. I really like the food, but for goodness sake, cool the food and if it's not right just do it over.

Kati B.

Yelp
Ordered online: Got the wrong size, asked for two plastic ware (only got one), looked at my "bowls" and this pasta has been sitting in these dishes so long it's seeping through. This is just awful. Do better.
google avatar

Grace Z.

Yelp
A little disappointed at brunch today. The cafe wasn't busy with maybe less than 20 people and I was shocked at the slowness of service. I was halfway through eating the Country French Breakfast (which was greasey) when I decided to ask about the cappuccino I ordered. I was directed to the on the go order side to wait at an empty counter to ask about my cappuccino. Staff was sparse and had no sense of urgency. The manager herself was eventually walking around noticed me. She made the cappuccino for me and I appreciate that of her, but I feel bad that her crew isn't on their mark that she has to do the work herself.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
First time at this location. Fast and nice service, but food was subpar. My bf and I got the ham and bacon quiche and the french onion soup. The pastry crust was undercooked and the soup was probably the worst I've ever had. I wasn't looking for 5 star food, but I was expecting at least 2 or 3.
google avatar

Al R.

Yelp
Sweet tea was rancid. Switched to the soda machine and all those drinks were off. Something must have been off with all the soda lines. Settled for the water and that was awful too. Just gross.
google avatar

Rhonda K.

Yelp
I ordered coconut crème cake to go and didn't check the order before I left. The girl turned away and put it in the box. I got the wrong dessert. I got cheese cake. I'm too far away to go back. I'm so disappointed.
google avatar

Tyshara M.

Yelp
My first time trying French cuisine, I was amazed at how much I enjoyed my order. I ordered quite a few things from their menu just to try something new, to my surprise I liked everything! My order was through a delivery app, so I haven't experienced their customer service but the food will be a reason for me to actually dine in.

Chris H.

Yelp
We enjoyed a very nice cup of French Onion Soup with wonderful iced tea. Also got bran muffins to go. Service and atmosphere is always good here.
google avatar

Carissa G.

Yelp
Every time I come here I'm more and more disappointed. This place is absolutely not worth anyone's time or money. We ordered croissant sandwiches for breakfast. One with scrambled eggs and bacon, and the other with over easy eggs and sausage. The photo attached is of the "over easy" eggs....wtf is that. They're gross, burned, scrambled eggs. And there's no sausage to be found anywhere on the damn thing. My husband's came with two little tiny ban on strips. We paid $10 each for these. They probably cost about 20 cents to make. Zero effort put into it. The croissant itself was gross too. What the hell is this place doing that they can't make a decent croissant with eggs and meat. I'm baffled as to how they screwed these up so badly. To make matters worse, it was an online order so we didn't notice until we came home. I swear to god I will never come back to this shit hole.

Yelp
First time visit to La Madeleine French Bakery. Bacon is delicious and cooked to perfection. The Carmel Macchiato is spot on. The French toast is good. Large serving and great flavor. Little disappointed in the fact they served the heel of the bread as a piece. It was tough and chewy.

Bushra I.

Yelp
NEVER AGAIN! This used to be a favorite place but the service has gone down significantly. Went there for lunch today. The guy working at the to go counter stood their shuffling around doing nothing g while I was standing patiently in line for 15 minutes. Then he took 30 minutes to pack 8 vanilla parfait and 6 lemon tart. Came home to find out instead of lemon tart he gave me fruit tart! Pathetic service.
google avatar

Avriel B.

Yelp
So, here we go. Last week we had a leadership summit where I ordered breakfast. The order was supposed to be there at 7:45 and didn't arrive until 8:47. Then on top of that they were out of fruit cups so instead of making it up with another item they just didn't include it in the order which means that there wasn't enough food for everyone. This isn't the first time that this has happened. Last time they forgot half the order and I had to drive over to the restaurant on Mac Arthur to pick up the other half. This will be my last time using them.
google avatar

Brenda M.

Yelp
I got 3 thin slices of chicken, broccoli and a tiny serving of stuffing for 11.99...not worth it. I've had a better presentation of chicken along one side of the plate before. The plate also is smaller. To top it off, the nutella croissants I ordered were not available. I ordered 2 other croissants instead...they looked dry and disgusting. I wish I could get a refund for this pathetic looking meal but I got it for take out
google avatar

Calvin H.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal. Always reliable place for good pastries and food. This location at 6430 N MacArthur Blvd; Irving, TX 75039 is no exception. I had the creamy Pesto With chicken and my wife had the Chicken la Madeleine . Me ate my resin peach cookies for desert. All very filling. I highly recommend this La Madeleine French Cafe
google avatar

Aayushi B.

Yelp
Never disappoints, so yummy food. Croque Madame, coffee and amazing tarts! This is how we celebrated getting vaccinated. Sitting beside the fireplace and warm hospitality of the waiters you will be transported to France. Extra stars for Fresh fruit tarts - it is baked into perfection.
google avatar

Yelp
Simply delicious and the wonderful service. Love their French breakfast menu. Don't forget the mimosa cocktail. Staff is very nice. Lots of parking spaces. Social distancing is in place. There are two lines; dine in and take out. Lots of spaces inside plus private room if you will. Highly recommend!

Chris W.

Yelp
Food is like a cafeteria quality. Unfortunate since it is a great location. The quiche was the best thing.

Wendy D.

Yelp
First time here was confusing. I didn't know if I had to order inside and then sit outside to be served or had to wait for my food to take it out myself. If you're looking for a quick coffee pickup, you have to order on the app or online for quick service. Waiting there for just your order could take a while. Especially if you ordered pastries with it. Oh, and the pastries taste old and stale like it was out for a while. It's never served warm. So, you have to request for it to be warmed. On top of everything, it's over priced.
google avatar

Shubha S.

Yelp
I used to like this place a lot but the last visit was quite disappointing! The omlettes were made with toppings non-evenly distributed, literally split 1/2-1/2 like a pizza and the silverware was not clean. My Americano, even though it looked like barely half a cup was too watery and not hot enough, and the saucer looked like it had not been washed. Not a good feel to have during Covid!

April G.

Yelp
The food is great but it is super frustrating to place a soup and salad take-out order in advance, get there 25 minutes after the order was placed, and still have to wait 10 minutes or more for it to be ready. There's even a sign that says "In a hurry? Try our soups, salads and cold sandwiches". Bless your heart if you do with the expectation of getting in and out quickly, you'll still be waiting half an hour or more. Edit: The to-go station attendant dropped a soup on the floor and I saw her pick it up and consider putting it in the bag. She eventually threw it away, but EW. Revolting. It has now been an hour since I placed the order. Still waiting on soup and salad. Some lady who placed her order at the counter after I arrived just got her order, but I'm still waiting. Docked a star since I originally posted. I will never be back.
google avatar

Dorrie V.

Yelp
I would never go back. I paid 9 dollars for bread the sandwich barely had any meat on it and a drop of sauce . Highly disappointed.

Yelp
Perfect place for brunch! I came in thinking it would be overpriced and not worth but turns out it was very worth! I got the make your own omelet and it was very filling. It comes out with a slice of tomato and croissant. I couldn't eat my croissant because I was so full from the omelet! The lady that took my order kind of struggled getting my order in. She forgot my tomato basil soup. I believe she was a new employee but not sure. The soup came out when i was halfway done with my meal but I was still able to enjoy it ! Their dessert is also very very delicious! The fruit tart maybe a little sweet but its really fresh and tarty :) Definitely recommend for breakfast, brunch or lunch ^^
