"In the heart of Fountain Square, this corner location is home to Mexican dishes and tasty drinks made from a large selection of tequilas and mezcals. You can’t go wrong with the starters: chili con queso, guacamole with tortilla chips, beer queso (made with Modelo), and nachos. Follow any of them with your choice of tacos, the red wine and chipotle-braised macha (brisket), or the burrito Azteca, which combines Miller Farms chicken and carnitas along with crema, cheese, and guacamole. You can try their original location or find them at Sun King Brewery, where they offer a limited menu." - Mike Gillis

Best vegan nachos I have had in Indy, absolutely fantastic. Good service at the bar from T. If you haven't had it I recommend a Bohemia beer. Wish I could rave about their house margarita, but it's just terrible. But not enough of an issue to ever keep me from coming back here again and again.

Google
LOVE this place. So much so we had them cater our wedding which was a huge hit (thank you Jon)! And a regular date night spot. Dog freindly outdoor patio and authentic delicious food. One of the few places I love where I keep ordering different menu items instead of the same thing I go there for. Best margarita, nachos and beef birria consommé around. Always has a great rotating IPA on draft. Surprisingly great vegan chorizo that is somehow better than regular chorizo. Great rotating food specials. La Marg flies under the radar as it's been around so long but one of Indy's best.

I was really enjoyed me trip to la margarita. The tacos were really good. I had to get a margarita while there and it was great.

A friend took me here yesterday and it was great! The weather was perfect, in the 70s, so we elected to sit outside. Outside seating is comfortable and spaced perfectly, and fun to people watch outside. I can't speak highly enough of our server, Dania! The patio was hopping with people and she was ON IT the entire time, making sure our drinks were refilled and getting us all kinds of modifications and making sure our experience was a top-notch one. She was friendly, fast, polite, and efficient at everything she did- we were so impressed! Our food (fajitas for both) came out fresh and hot, and everything was scrumptious. Kudos to the manager as well, as we watched him handle a difficult situation with professionalism and wisdom. We'll definitely be back, and definitely try to get seated in Dania's section!

Google
Pretty mediocre experience here. Great table outside, but the service was middling--server was pretty impatient and it felt like our being there was an inconvenience to him. Food was quite expensive and very bland. Rice and beans tasted like they respectively came out of a box and a can, and the hatch carnitas had absolutely no spice. Pretty disappointing overall, especially with how well rated this place is.

Google
4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We sat outside and had relatively good service; there were long periods in between "check ins" with our server. Our appetizer and meals came out quickly and were delicious! Warning ⚠️ the red salsa is indeed hot; it will melt your face off; we preferred the more mild green salsa. The guacamole was some of the best I've had at Mexican restaurants. They lost a star from me because of the margaritas; they were extremely overpriced for the portion (not even 12 Oz. Too much ice). I personally prefer frozen margaritas with flavor options, but their top shelf margarita was good; the price was not good.

Google
My coctail was delicious and the service was fantastic! My tacos were so so. I loved the atmosphere it was fun and inviting but the food left something to be desired. It was a mix feeling of authentic Mexican and hipster. I could see myself revisiting, especially the outdoor patio.

Kristi Schultz

Google
Every time we have been here we've had amazing food and great service. Their fish tacos are my absolute favorite and if they ever change the recipe I will be very sad! Portions are great for the price.

Yelp
Love this place! Been a few times and I usually have staples I order at Mexican restaurants but here I like to try new things because every item shines. The staff is always polite and friendly. Drinks are really good!

Tarina P.

Yelp
The vibes were great. The wait wasn't long either, we were waiting no more than 10 minutes with it being pretty busy inside. Service was really good and prompt. I was really excited for a fun margarita but unfortunately they only have 1 flavor of margarita a month - this month's was Kiwi Strawberry which my friend got and said was delicious! Unfortunately, I'm not much of a kiwi person so I opted for a spicy margarita and it was perfect but wished it had either a salt or sugar rim. For appetizers we tried their chili con queso which was really interesting, in all honesty it tasted like we were eating pizza with our tortilla chips - quite different. For main we all got tacos and they were filling and extremely flavorful.

Debra G.

Yelp
Too loud for me. Okay service. No free chips and salsa. Food was tasty. Delicious guacamole on the top of my Margarita Bowl with chicken. Hubby had a taco salad with chicken.

Elle E.

Yelp
The shrimp ceviche tostada was amazing! It was a shrimp feast with the shrimp fajitas that followed. Great service seated barside because it was too hot to sit outside.

Aaron B.

Yelp
Great food in a historic building. We were enjoying the lovely weather on a nice Saturday afternoon in Fountain Sq. and stopped in for lunch. Service was super friendly and the food was great. The salsas with the chips and salsa were amazing. Definitely worth a stop.

Lynn N.

Yelp
Centered in Fountain Square, it's a lively place to be. With events in the area throughout the summer, it's a good restaurant option. Good for groups with large tables and they also have an outdoor patio. The menu is extensive and varied with plentiful vegetarian/vegan options too. Our favorite item was the Papas Locas (Crispy Chile Crisp Fingerling Potatoes, Pickled Veg, Sambal Aioli, Cilantro, Scallion, Sesame). The punch of flavors was balanced, with a bit of spice. The Margarita bowl with Seitan al Pastor (Mexi-Rice & Black Bean Salsa, Guacamole, Fresco, Cilantro, Pickled Onion, Serrano) was good. It's like a burrito bowl without the tortilla. It goes great with the smokiness of their house-made hot sauce. Server was nice and even with it being busy she was so attentive. There is street parking and a couple of lots within walking distance.

Lauren W.

Yelp
Inside is so cute along with their decor. We ordered a pitcher of their house margarita and it was well worth it (5 drinks for the price of 4). I had the fajita salad and it was delicious. The chicken was tender and there were a lot of veggies. The vinaigrette was light and paired well. Chips and salsa weren't free but we decided to order anyways. The two salsas that came with the chips were good and different than traditional Mexican restaurants. We got excellent service in the bar area and were well taken care of. It's a nice change from all the other Mexican restaurants in the area.

Yelp
How do I love La Margarita? Let me count the ways... three. 1. The food is amazing. Whether I get the chicken tacos or the nachos I'm happy because they taste great and come with pickled red onions that are to die for. 2. The location in Fo Squo is easy to get to and close to lots of fun other places. 3. The drinks. I never get rocks margaritas anywhere else because there's no point. They have a flavor of the week that is always delish. My hubby prefers the "Vitamin T" which is a Mexican beer and a shot of tequila. We went for lunch last week and it was as always, amazing. The bartender waited on us and gave great service as well.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant in a cool part of town. Fountain Square. The atmosphere is very relaxed with a kind of an Industrial feel inside and a huge bar. we got chips and salsa to start with. We did have to pay for it, which is strange, most of the places around here included, but this is a little bit more millennial type eating location. It came with two different types of salsa, red salsa, and a green salsa. The green was much hotter than the red ones. But both were very good. The red one was a little sweet for me but still excellent. For dinner I got chicken enchiladas with a Molé Verde sauce. It was pretty hot, but still very good. Was covered in sauce and cheese, came with refried beans and rice. All of it had excellent flavor and went really well together. It was excellent. My wife got. A margarita bowl. Zucchini, pickled onions, cilantro, Mexican rice, black bean salsa, guacamole and cheese. She thought it was great and it was a very large serving and she could only finish about half of it. I got a unsweet iced tea to drink, but other than that, we drank the water that was put at the table. The atmosphere is pretty cool and hip and the service was very good. She kept coming back and checking on us all through the mail. Prices weren't too bad for the type of place. It was obviously a little more expensive because it is sitting in a cooler, part of town.

Yelp
We are relocating to Indy and are on our mission to create a roster of go-to spots for plant-based people. Add to this the list. You pay $5 for chips and salsa but get refills. Let me tell you- these were amazing chips and salsa. And you get so much. I had the vegan tacos- taco Al pastor with seitan beef and the vegan chorizo taco. Both full of flavor and filling. They come with rice and guac. My partner had the La Margarita burrito with vegan protein. Huge and tasty. I did have the margarita of the week. Was very good, but I wouldn't say it was $10. Overall, we love this place and the server was very friendly. Welcomed us to the area. The ambiance is casual, and there is ample seating outside and inside. I'm excited to try to the location in Broad Ripple.

Valerie S.

Yelp
Machaca and Birria are both soooooo good. Beer queso was pretty good. Margarita was amazing. One of my friends had the summer breeze cocktail and it had a strong flavor, that neither of us could decide if we liked it or not. We think it might've been the aloe. Service was good. They were busy so it was loud inside but we didn't want to wait to be outside. They had fantastic music playing the whole time. No complaints and we will be back.

Yelp
La Margarita is a fun lively restaurant that is perfect for a night with friends! I had kept hearing about this place and it did not disappoint. Our food was filling and flavorful! I ordered three tacos, a fish taco, as well as a vegan chorizo and seitan taco. My favorite was probably the vegan chorizo, but they were all delicious! My friends got burritos and thought they were very filling and flavorful as well. We split guacamole and it's a must try because it was sooo addicting and yummy! La Margarita has bar seating as well as mixed booth/high top seating as well as lower tables. They have a nice patio that would be great to enjoy during patio season. The service was great--the waitress was kind and was able to answer all our questions and provide recommendations.

Sadiya A.

Yelp
We came in during a weekday lunch time and it wasn't as busy so we got served pretty quickly. They were very friendly and the server gave us some good recommendations. I'm not a huge fan of guacamole but this was very good and fresh. The food was flavored perfectly and we didn't leave much leftover. Definitely a good Mexican restaurant to try!

Yelp
Great choice of dining near the heart of Fountain Square! In a recent visit for dinner, the Chipotle with shrimp was my selected dish. The rice was quite flavorful, when other times & places the rice is often bland despite the seasoned appearance. The chipotle sauce and other toppings were zesty as well. Decor in the restaurant mixes modern with some rustic while managing a clean appearance, which is always appreciated. Although service was great, I found it somewhat off putting that menus are primarily digital via QR code. It's far easier to look at a menu when it's good old laminated print. Just my thinking though. All in all, an excellent meal, and like any respectable Fountain Square business, has good artistic style!

Casi B.

Yelp
Very nice and cool atmosphere. Kind and attentive staff. Delicious margaritas, fajitas, birria burrito, and chips and salsa (the red is a hot and the green is mild and sweet). I really enjoyed the green salsa! I'll definitely come back and get the same thing all over again. Fajitas - delicious flavor and well cooked Birra Burrito - very big loaded burrito! The dipping sauce was delicious and flavorful. The salad was very yummy and light. I would order this again and again!

Amber B.

Yelp
Visited on Tuesday night with a group of friends and it was a good time! I tried a coconut margarita and it was very refreshing! For our appetizer we had guacamole and beer cheese, both were delicious. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos for my entree, which were really good too! Everyone was very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back when I'm in the fountain square area!

Yelp
My friends and I decided to go here last night and it was AMAZING! I was really hungry and forgot to take photos of the appetizers, but TRUST when I say they were awesome! We did not have a reservation and there were 4 of us. There was going to be a wait, but then the hostess saw an open table at the bar and was able to seat us immediately! I would suggest calling ahead as this place was popping for a Thursday night, but it's totally worth the wait if you just walk in! We started with a drink and appetizers - I got a Spicy Skinny Marg which was good and not too sugary (which I am always fearful of when ordering a marg). We the got Chips and Salsa, Chili Con Queso and the Taquitos with potato inside. The Chips and Salsa comes with a Rojo and Verde sauce - the rojo was spicy, but so good and the Salsa Verdi was honestly AMAZING! - like some of the best that I have ever had! Also the chips that come with the starters are amazing and salted perfectly! The Chili Con Queso was amazing as well - it was like a cheesy red sauce that I wanted to put on some pasta! The taquitos came out on a soft bed of mixed greens with guacamole atop of them. They were cooked perfectly - crunchy on the outside and the potato was warm and moist on the inside! Appetizers and drinks 10/10! I asked our server to surprise me for my main dish and she did not disappoint at all! She came out with the Chipotle Chicken and it was amazing! I will say, La Marg dishes pack some heat and spice, so be weary if you do not like spicy foods. This was some perfectly moist chicken smothered in a chipotle sauce with peppers and onions and a side of rice and beans. Overall this place is AMAZING and I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
This was my second time here. I didn't post a review last time because I hate to post negative reviews and I was hoping it was a fluke. The food here is really great, unfortunately the service somewhat dampens the experience. Came in with my Aussie to ask for a seat on the patio and had to stand at the host stand over five minutes. Not one employee ever came up to me. Finally I asked someone else waiting if they knew for sure if I could have my Aussie there (I knew it said so on their website but I was double checking) and they said there's already a dog out there. So I walked through and went to sit on the side where you can just have drinks. I sat out there for 15 minutes waiting on a friend and still not one person working there said a word to me. My friend finally arrived and put our name in while I watched her dog. I had not put our names in since I was uncomfortable standing in there waiting for ANYONE to talk to me with my dog. When we finally got seated (there were open tables but we still waited 30 minutes) our server was very nice and took our drink and app orders. When we got our chicken nachos (with no side plates) they were cold. We sent them back and when we got new ones, they were clearly just the same ones reheated. Chips were literally falling apart they were so soggy. Ordered the "house made" spicy sauce for my tacos which was forgotten. When it was brought out it was in a bottle, not house made. Finally, our checks were messed up. It was not a terrible experience and our server really nice about everything. It just was not an experience I'm going to repeat. Obviously they were short staffed. Hopefully they can get some more help.

Angie D.

Yelp
I love a good Mexican restaurant and La Margarita did not disappoint! Margs were awesome and I love that they have a pitcher option for groups. The guac was amazing and I seriously have not had a better quesadilla in my entire life. We sat on the patio and the staff was very attentive. They have a really cute couch area outside too. Will definitely be back!

Jessica L.

Yelp
The nachos are amazing! The service is alright, the drinks are alright as well! Would love to come back!

Emily M.

Yelp
Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Indy - when someone comes to visit from out of town, I almost always bring them here! The chips and salsa is a definite necessity. I almost always get chicken tacos and they're always perfect. A great cocktail menu too - definitely ask for the margarita flavor of the week. Eating outside is extra nice and you're at a great spot in the heart of Fountain Square with a good breeze and plenty of people watching. Parking in FSQ is free and pretty easy to find and La Marg is also right across the street from the Red Line bus stop. Friendly staff, decent wait times and pricing. 10/10

JM S.

Yelp
Food is outstanding just like Tia Maria used to make for my familia!!!! Bartender Seth is a D@#K....he should be fired. Don't drink at this place...preparty somewhere else.

Jake M.

Yelp
The food overall is solid. I really like vibe and bar selection with rotating selection of agave based spirit flights as well as tap beers. The main entrees are fair but are not fantastic. I mainly go for chips with red salsa and beer cheese and drinks but the other main entrees are more for "fill factor" than taste to be honest. Favorite dish is fajita chicken nachos as I am big fan of pickled red onions and they are plenty here. Otherwise good but not great, though we'll rounded if that makes sense?

Brittany H.

Yelp
I brought my sister and mom here for a treat after they helped me paint one of my bedrooms. We came a little later in the day around 3:30pm on a Thursday and there was no wait. I think because of the time there was only one person working the whole front of the house. They served as our host, waitress and bartender! For an appetizer we ordered the unlimited chips and salsa. I really love both their red and green salsas. My mom and I both ordered the Margarita Bowls. I got mine with the fajita veggies and top and it was very flavorful and filling. My sister got the mix and match tacos and she thought they were great as well. Everything tasted very fresh and made in house. They have quite a few vegetarian and vegan options to choose from. My mom and I got a few of the house margaritas and we both enjoyed them. My mom liked hers so much she ordered a second one which is very unlike her which speaks volumes to the flavor. There are quite a few Mexican Restaurants near Fountain Square but this one continues to be a steeple in the area. I highly recommend if you are looking for a place to eat for lunch or dinner.

Hugh J.

Yelp
A perfect way to absolutely ruin a night out. You'll be greeted in a very unpleasant way by the apathetic girl at the front. She'll give you a shitty look and sigh out a "I guess you can follow me". Once you make it past her bad attitude you will be sat at a table where you will be ignored by anyone who works in the place. After 20 to 30 minutes you may be given some water. If you're lucky enough to have a 'server' come up to you, you're not going to get what you ordered, nor will it come out together. One person may be served food 10-15 minutes before the rest of the table. And when it does get there, its a part-cold/part-hot, all soggy, mess. Not good food. Are you thirsty? I sure hope not! You'll be given very minimal water and never asked if you want a drink. Trying to get the 'server' to stop to get another drink was IMPOSSIBLE!!! Then came the time to HAVE TO pay. I was told my my table we couldn't just leave after the 100% terrible time we had in this prison. We finally got somone to acknowledge that we wanted our checks and did finally get them... 20 minutes more later!!! Step-up you staffing. Hire more servers (and make sure they know how to serve), fire the "bad-attitude hostesss" (This is a top-tier 'must-do') and notice when there is an entire table of pissed-off looking people who asked for their check 20 minutes ago wanting to get the hell out of the trap that you stuck us in by serving us bad food and then wanting us to pay for it, but not giving us the opportunity!!!

Teah R.

Yelp
I came to La Margarita for their Margski food event and it was PHENOMENAL. Who doesn't love Asian-Mexican fusion?! The menu was so unique and every single thing sounded delicious. We had about a 40 minute wait for a table of 7. Once we were seated, we got started with drinks and appetizers. Shortly after we ordered our entrees. I ordered the loaded fries and pork belly korean bbq tacos - so many wonderful flavors in my mouth. I wish they did this more often, I NEED MORE! I also got to try bites of the kimchi dressed nachos and smoked shiitake mushroom and kimchi fried rice, obviously those were tasty too. I can't speak to their regular menu since I haven't tried it before but 5 stars for this event!

Mary-Karen M.

Yelp
If you're vegan, this place is great. If you're a meat-eating devil person like myself, it's no bueno. I can't leave this place without spending at least $70 and being thoroughly disappointed. It does not taste like authentic Mexican food in the slightest. For example, I was served queso fundido that could be picked up in one piece. It wasn't a solid, nor a liquid. Just 100% disturbing. Long story short, save your money and your tastebuds. Buena suerte, amigos.

Joelle D.

Yelp
This place has the best Birria tacos I've had in a very long time! Highly recommend those and their margaritas, SO YUMMY The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we asked for outdoor seating and they had a table cleared off for us within minutes. We had ordered two different margaritas and when the waiter came out with two of the same, he immediately apologized and made the correct one within a minutes time. They have a daily flavor for the margaritas and I scored a pomegranate one.. so delicious. We also ordered two quesadilla kids meals and they were fully loaded with fries and a decent sized quesadilla! Throughly impressed with the whole experience. They do have a QR menu, so have your phone handy when you show up

Staci W.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant for several years. The food is always quality and tasty. The service is hit or miss. I love the corner location in Fountain Square. We sat on the patio this time and it was very nice with the weather. I ordered the 3 for $15 taco meal. I had the carne asada, chicken and chorizo. It included rice and guacamole. We also got chips and queso with salsa as an appetizer. Overall it's a great place to grab lunch or dinner while in the area.

Abby M.

Yelp
I've been getting these nachos at sun king forever, so we had to try their restaurant. We sat on the patio and loved the couches and seating area. I ordered the house margarita and it was so fresh and strong! We got the chips and salsa, which sadly are not complimentary, but are only $5 for endless chips and salsa. I got the pescado and carne asada tacos. The fish was one of the best tacos I have had! Definitely recommend. They also came with guac and rice on the side which was nice. My boyfriend loved the enchiladas as well. It's a little pricy, but the food is worth it!

PJ M.

Yelp
We happened on this place. Walked in at noon and it wasn't very busy which was a concern, but tht went away pretty quickly. Atmosphere was nice. Seated and ordered. Fajitas, tacos, burrito along with the queso, chips and salsa. 3 different heat levels. All was outstanding. The server was great and seemed to be running most of the restaurant, but sure had a handle on things. The flavors were very authentic. If I had one complaint it would be not enough tortillas. Not sure if we could ask for more or not. Great place. Not from here so prob won't get back but recommend to those in this area.

Lizz M.

Yelp
First time here and our server was nice. The food and drinks could have been better. I had a smothered burrito with a side of beans and rice and they were missing flavor and were cold. The chicken in the burrito was ok but the seasoning wasn't my favorite. My Paloma beverage was ok. I was thrown off by orange slice since that's not in the beverage. I could taste some grapefruit but it was missing something. Street parking is available which is great.

Sarah F.

Yelp
We decided to get takeout for lunch and this was suggested I've been before and love everything about it and was impressed that a takeout lunch was so good I've been seeing birria tacos everywhere and finally decided to get some the tacos from here were deliciously cooked so well seasoned well and came with that excellent dipping sauce for lack of a better term as well as a side of rice that was cooked pursue perfection and very flavorful can't wait to visit the brick and mortar location sometime soon. Takeout isn't always the same, but this was impressive; the freshness, the flavor! I'm in love with new tacos

Lara P.

Yelp
I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews here, which I suppose is to be expected for a spot that's been along the Virginia Ave. strip in Fountain Square for many years. I've been dining at La Margarita ("La Marg" to locals) for several of those years and I'll say this: they've really evolved since the pandemic and their current menu and dine-in experience is the best it's ever been! Much of their menu is now pick-your-protein style, and they have THE BEST vegetarian options (get the seitan al pastor!!). Other menu highlights: the greatest nacho platters, birria tacos and burritos, and fun, authentic drink options like micheladas. La Marg updated their patio spring 2022 and it's the best spot to sip margs and people watch along the Cultural Trail in Fountain Square.

Laura S.

Yelp
I can't believe I've never reviewed La Marg. We live in Brownsburg, but it's one of our go-tos when we're craving outstanding Mexican food. They always have a strong craft beer draft list, and loads of tequila brands. Their guacamole and salsa are some of the best in the city. Everything I've ever tried here has been great, but the vegan chorizo burrito would be one of my last meals on earth if I had to choose. Trust me on this! Outdoor patio has been expanded to accommodate more customers, and the inside is pretty spacious as well, with a cool bar area. If there is a wait for a table, it's worth it. I only wish I lived closer!

Emily N.

Yelp
I give this 5 stars for the food and the ambiance, but absolutely NOT the service. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and sat there for a few minutes while the bartenders just chit chatted and ignored us. Finally a guy came to take our order and immediately had a bad attitude. Didn't ask us how we were doing, introduce himself, nothing. Didn't even give us waters. We had to ask two separate times in order to get one glass of water each. We ordered the chips, salsa, and queso. (The red salsa is very hot if you like spicy and the avacado salsa is more on the mild side.) Queso was definitely the best part in my opinion. The guy never came back to take our order and I had to flag him down. We ordered the Cabo's burrito and let me tell you, it was delicious. 10/10 and the sole reason I'm giving 5 stars. I wish I would have gotten our waiters name because he was everything a waiter shouldn't be. It was truthfully hard to tip him. And the worst part was he seemed to be friendly to others in the restaurant even telling them Happy Thanksgiving, but paid us no attention. When we got up to leave I said "thank y'all" and didn't even get a response. We were never asked if we wanted a refill. We were never asked how our food was. We were never even told "thanks for coming in!" Such a shame because the food was so good and the vibes were pretty chill as well. I hope whoever this dude is doesn't ruin the reputation of the place.

Becky D.

Yelp
Best place ever. Love the food! Margs are the best ever. Staff is wonderful, bartenders Seth is the best!

Sarah O.

Yelp
Love La Margarita so much The food is amazing but the people are what makes it. Seth behind the bar is such a great guy! Go see him!

Lauren B.

Yelp
Food was good, a little more Americanized than a standard Mexican restaurant in our opinion. Service was good, very attentive. Environment was louder but we were there at 8pm on a Friday so that may have contributed.

Sierra K.

Yelp
In the heart of Fountain Square next to HI-FI makes it a great spot for an evening out in FS! Tacos were so tasty and juicy and they make a great Paloma!

Carmen G.

Yelp
Went on a date and loved it! Street parking is easy to find and the ambience is fun with the music at a good level for chatting. Loved my mezcal margarita and the house margarita is pretty good (I just really like mezcal). Service was also ideal! It was busy but the waitress still came at good intervals. Patio is lovely in the warmer weather!

Justin W.

Yelp
La Margarita is a solid restaurant in the Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis. Service here is good and the staff is pleasant and attentive. This place is great for meeting up for drinks and appetizers. The bar features a nice selection of beers and delicious cocktails, they also have an impressive list of tequilas. The food is solid, it's not my absolute favorite Mexican food spot in Indy but it's in the top 5 for sure. Highlights include the taquitos, this is the only place I have found in Indy that does a potato version which is delicious. The Hatch Chile Carnitas are delicious. Finally the fish tacos are also really solid. The restaurant is a little on the smaller side as the bar takes up a good amount of the space inside. As a result it can be quite loud inside when it's busy. They also have a really nice outdoor seating area when the weather cooperates. It's fully covered so it's a good place to escape the heat in the summer.

Yelp
we came back after being away too long and everything was still great! my margarita was seasonal (pomegranate) but it was Amazing. the best part of the meal was the beer cheese queso and chips, we ate it All. we both got burritos, and were pleased. i love the vegetarian options here, especially the chorizo. my burrito had a sweetness i wasn't expecting, and i didn't love it or hate it. my boyfriend really liked his burrito, but said the chicken side was better. we sat at the bar and had great service from the bartenders, and loved the music and the fact that pokémon was on (: definitely stop by!!!

Yelp
La Margarita is our favorite place to grab dinner in Fountain Square - we have eaten nearly the whole menu and you can't go wrong! Birria tacos and burrito are a favorite for us- but the nachos, chipotle chicken & Al pastor are on repeat for us. Also if you are getting margs, go for the pitcher!

Yelp
I've been here twice now and the food and drinks do not disappoint! Queso (fundido and beer cheese) are phenomenal, the salsa is packed with flavor and actually spicy! The enchiladas were great too. They have great drink deals and the margaritas were fairly strong but still tasty! The only thing to keep in mind is that this place has a smaller indoor seating area. We came in a larger group (8) and had to wait over an hour. In better weather their patio is open, but this place is very popular so it's always busy. The nice part is that it's in a great location with other nearby bars and shops you can go to while waiting!

Yelp
La Margarita is a very cute Mexican restaurant in Fountain Square. I went with a group last week and staff were great about setting up for a large group and were very attentive all night. Service was great and drinks and meals came out quickly. I had 2 of the fish tacos and it came with a small side of rice and guacamole. Each was very good though the fish was fried which was my error for not asking for a grilled option. I loved the Guacamole. The beer queso, brisket burritos, fajitas and machaca were popular choices with the group and everyone seemed satisfied. I'm always in the hunt for a good Margarita and the house Margarita was great. There are plenty of other choices too. They have a great patio and I loved to go back and sit outside some time. There is also plenty of free parking in the area.

Yelp
We really love sitting on the patio during the summertime. We have tried a variety of their food options over time and we really like the nachos which a great plate to share or eat as your main meal. I also really liked their torta when they had it on their menu as a special. Another favorite is the birria tacos. Its a great place to grab a drink, snack, meal, or all of the above.

Yelp
It's was my first time coming to this place and I have to say that Fountain Square gives me Mass Ave vibes but smaller . Such a cute little part of the city. la Margarita is perfect for after work drinks (which is exactly what we did ) I ordered the Top Shelf Margarita, nachos and shortly afterwards , a Paloma .. the staff here are so friendly and courteous. La Margarita has an outdoor sitting area and it offers a small space inside of you prefer indoors. When eating outside, you have to walk up yo the window to order and sometimes it can get a little busy but they were able to get to everyone pretty quickly seeing that they didn't have many staff(kudos to them ) The food and drinks were brought in more than a timely matter and they even bring a carafe of water and glasses to your table . Give this place a look see. I'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
It was a beautiful day for a patio date. All orders needed to be placed at the bar, and a number was given to place on the table. I thought that was a pretty easy set up. They only have one special margarita flavor outside the regular and top shelf. I opted for the top shelf and it was great. Our entrees were amazing, we cleared our plates. The only, only thing is... that queso, I just didn't like it. I said chips and queso, after looking at the menu I believe we were served the beer queso? I will definitely pass on that next time.
