Love this place great service and people. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing meal or a night out with friends. The food is delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for a savory dish or a sweet treat, this place has it all. I highly recommend trying their signature dish, it's absolutely amazing. Overall, a fantastic experience that will leave you wanting to come back for more.

This place is hot or miss during the week. Some vendors are reliable in operating times. While others open when they want. This makes it a difficult place to put on a list of shopping destinations. During my last visit I went to grab a coffee and breakfast roll and that was suprisingly good and priced well for the great quality. Unfortunately, it was literally the only shop operating at the time and it was in the late morning. However during my visit I was able to peruse an incredibly poignant photo exhibit that focused on the devastation caused by hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. A welcome addition to my coffee as I browsed the free gallery.

Open on weekends with salsa dancing live performances and artisan vendors along with great Puerto Rican traditional food this is the place to celebrate the location formerly on 116 street in El Barrio is just a few blocks over on 113 street and park Avenue in Manhattan Check it out for yourself

I'm very excited to see the changes & upgrades made to this new location. The food is always amazing but now the decor matches the cultural and historic venue. I look forward to spending more time at la Marqueta this summer as they have a variety of events (most are free & fun). Safe environments make for a splendid time. Highly recommended!

Idk if its me, but everytime i look in there, something seems to be going on and/or closed.

I arrived almost at closing time and the service was fast and polite. They weren't bothered that it was almost closing time. The food is delicious. The beans were so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had the Gallina plate and the portions are generous. This will be my spot for real Puerto Rican food in El Barrio.

Light Snacks were also provided along with unlimited sweet toppings. We concocted our spirits-filled potions and set them to freeze. We even got to taste the mixtures fresh out of the mixer as we filled our containers...yum. My favorites were the mango margarita, the hazelnut coffee, and the maple bourbon bacon...because bacon. WHEN: 10/4/19 6p WHERE: La Marqueta (sign up for the class for more specific location) HOW: public transportation. Parking is near impossible, bus trains to 116th then walk over to 113th. BATHROOM: 1 stall, gender neutral WIFI: did not use DRESS CODE: as you like SERVICE: Our instructor Abby was comedian and knowledgeable. Her support Skye was accommodating, friendly and wore a smile for our time together. Thank you both for elevating the experience.

Very nice place, very familiar has a small store with some Puerto Rican souvenirs. Great food

This place is like the old Essex street market in the Lower East Side Im terms of the looks. This place has some gems like Elma's. I feel that it needs more tender love an care before it becomes like the mass produced markets that are popping all over NYC.

Currently a bit of a ghost town feeling, this once bustling market has seen better days and maybe will again see those better days again. Built in 1936 by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia for pushcarts of mainly Italian and Jewish immigrants the market swelled again with influx of Puerto Ricans to the area. It nosedived in the seventies and today sees a lilltle resurgence due to Hot Bread Kitchen baking it's goodies here. There is a great plant stall, Breezy Hill Orchards, an African food stall, and a fruit stall. The fruit vendor gave me a head of garlic for free as I was the lone consumer one late afternoon. Could this market turn into the mega successful Essex Street Market? Hard to say. as this area has some similarities and many differences, though there is a great hope en EL Barrio that La Marqueta will rise again!

La Marqueta is full of promise. Currently, there are only about ten vendors, but each is a great specialty place is you are looking for something in particular. The meat vendors seemed especially good if you're looking for a non-traditional cut of meat. What I most enjoyed was Breezy Hill Orchard's stand where they were selling handmade apple cider donuts. Mmmmm. The woman working there was especially helpful and informed me of the La Marqueta CSA which will be distributing fruit, vegetable, and artisanal pasta shares from there in the spring. Urban Garden Center has a great stall will all sorts of incredible plants that make me wish I had a garden, or at least a bigger spot on the floor of my apartment. The man working there was very knowledgable about his plants. They'll be opening a huge outdoor center in April at 116th and Park which will feature even more plants for the people of East Harlem. Hot Bread Kitchen is also a great addition to this space. I'm not sure that they're selling any goods here, but they are training immigrant women and women from low-income families to make artisanal bread of various countries. Depending on what time you come, you can watch them make glorious bread! I'm looking forward to seeing this place really grow. Until then, I will buy delicious organic apples from Breezy Hill Orchard and fill my apartment with too many plants from Urban Garden Center.

This is the place to be where you can shop, dance, enjoy good Latin music and eat the best Latin foods, especially Puerto Rican Traditional cuisine in Spanish Harlem @ 116th St and Park. The festivities last all summer on Saturday's from noon til 6p. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!

This is basically a much-more-inconvenient-to-the-type-to-frequent-such-places condensed version of the Essex Street Market. Apparently someone burned something before we walked in, which I can only assume forced half the vendors to be closed on a Saturday at noon, including the half-open with an awful selection Patisserie Vanessa (and long ago shuttered Beurre & Sel Cookies.

Amazing public space with such great event to really bring up the neighborhood. Would def look forward to whenever there are more events here

La Marqueta is in need of attracting more quality vendors. The place has basically no foot traffic. It is very dark, damp and desolate inside. There is a nasty smell of old fish/ cod fish coming from Velez Groceries and Mama Grace Afro Caribbean food market. They really need to get rid of those two vendors. Sprinkle Splash Sweet Shoppe is the best vendor there and they make really great cakes.

La Marqueta is getting a makeover. You know that odd looking place from 111th St. to 119th St. on Park Ave. The "main building" will have new produce markets and a super huge garden center. There are already a few meat markets and produce vendors there. This is an awesome home-grown version of Target and Costco a few blocks away. It is only one block West from the 116th and Lexington (6-train) stop. There are tons of awesome Borican and Mexican Restaurants......I stopped by today and it is looking good. They also have good Bacalao!

La Marqueta has so much potential but right about now all it is is a warehouse for salt fish & adobo. I suppose there's a market for that, excuse me, a "marqueta" but some additional offerings are desperately needed. The place is a ghost town.

A good option w the the bakery n that's about it. Rent a cop security are very rude, especially if you have small pets. Not the most inviting spot; very obnoxious interactions.

It's a shame no one sympathizes with the neighbors who have to put up with the the deafening noise during weekends. How about moving this event to a park which is just a few blocks away? I am pretty sure they're violating a noise code, as the metro north train passes by, the music gets louder. There has to be a noise pollution assessment for the sake of residents who simply want to enjoy a peaceful quite weekend in the comfort of their homes.
